A Hidden Gem in North Wales! I recently had the pleasure of visiting the George and Dragon Pub in North Wales, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped foot in this charming establishment, I knew I was in for a treat. Firstly, let's talk about the food. The menu offers a fantastic selection of dishes that cater to all tastes. Whether you're a fan of traditional pub grub or seeking something a little more adventurous, the George and Dragon Pub has got you covered. But it's not just the food that impressed me; the location of this pub is truly something special. Nestled in the picturesque countryside of North Wales, the George and Dragon offers breathtaking views that will leave you in awe. It's the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature. What truly sets the George and Dragon Pub apart is the warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are attentive, welcoming, and go above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is nothing short of exceptional. Whether you're a local or a visitor, you'll be treated like family from the moment you walk through the door. In conclusion, if you're looking for a hidden gem in North Wales, the George and Dragon Pub is a must-visit. Great food, reasonable prices, and a beautiful location - what more could you ask for? I can't wait to return and indulge in their delicious offerings once again. Cheers to the George and Dragon Pub for an unforgettable experience!

Great pub and restaurant , staff were welcoming and super helpful. Booked on recommendation of staff at the Zip Wire. Food lived up to expectations and more, and didn’t have to wait which is always a bonus with kids. Highly recommend for food, beers and atmosphere.

Brilliant find and all round experience. Highly recommend. A beautiful setting with a very interesting history. Arrived early for our reservation and staff really helpful and accommodating. Great menu with something for everyone. Food served quickly, presented beautifully and completely delicious. Go hungry, the portions are generous, as are the prices - great value for money. Looking forward to going back.

We stumbled across this lovely pub by accident and went in for an early evening meal with our eight-year-old son. The service was really good and the range of soft drinks impressive but we have to say the food was amazing. Such a lovely experience. Thank you.

The chef at the George & Dragon really knows his stuff! I had some of the most beautifully cooked fish and chips, with delicious fresh haddock in a crisp light batter served with an excellent home made tartar sauce and a salad with a dressing which had flavours of wild garlic and star anise (amongst others). My partner had the Welsh buttermilk chicken burger, again excellently prepared with moist tender chicken, lightly coated in a crisp crumb, beautiful home made onion rings and chilli mayo. We were both totally taken aback by the quality of the food and can most definitely highly recommend eating here!

After reading on the internet that the pub was dog friendly we travelled 10 miles for a meal only to be told the owner couldn't be bothered to alter the information on the net and was not now dog friendly. Excellent food - I think it might have been the biggest chicken fillet burger with all the trimmings I have ever had. Hot and tasty. The Baileys rice pudding we elected to have cold was equally as delicious and just the right amount of Baileys. Service with a smile so all in all a lovely lunch on a cold, wet and windy day.

Great pub. Downside was they closed early a few times in the evening so we and the other 10 or so people in had to move on (maybe because it’s out of season) and one evening wasn’t open when website said it would be, food seemed hit and miss as to when it was and wasn’t available and there were items out of stock. Having said that the positives outweigh the negatives - food is delicious, generous portions, (the ham, egg and chips is perfection), it’s always warm, its historic and cosy inside, spotlessly clean, friendly staff who remember your drinks order - all the things that make a great pub.

Myself and a friend visited the George & Dragon pub whilst staying in Beaumaris last week. As soon as you enter the pub, the character and quirkiness of this late-medieval building are on full display; there is barely a straight line in the place and you have to duck to get to the men's toilets, but the decor is tasteful and pleasant. I had booked a table in advance, and at 7pm the pub was maybe half full (this was a Wednesday so I'd say you probably need to book on a weekend day to ensure space). We were directed to our table, and the nearby specials board was pointed out to us. I think the specials board is a great touch, but when I tried to order one of them, the waitress came back to tell me they had run out, and then removed two other items from the board! In the end I went for the fish and chips. The portion size was good, but it is clear that the food on offer is nothing more than standard pub chain 'pub grub'. The batter was quite thin and soggy, the chips were more of a 'bagged fries' style, and the mushy peas didn't really taste of much. My friend opted for the Rump steak special, and he said it was one of the grisliest steaks he had ever had. In hindsight, it should have been a bit of a red flag that they made us pay for everything at time of order. The saving grace of the experience was the beer; to be fair, the George and Dragon serve a good range of beers and they have been kept well. Overall, I would say that this place is nice if you want to pop in for a drink, but I wouldn't suggest eating here. There are several establishments in Beaumaris a stones throw away where the food is of a much higher quality. Personally I would not return to this pub for food, but the lovely building and the beer on offer means I would possibly return for a drink.

Decent food, decent prices. Was very family friendly yet still holds a really nice atmosphere like a typical old pub. Whilst there, a woman was stung by a rogue wasp that had entered the pub. The staff couldn’t do enough for her and brought a first aid wipe and checked on her. We were impressed. Biggest downside was that there was no baby changing table within the building - but that’s sometimes understandable with such an old structure. Thankfully the public toilets just a 1 min walk away did have a table.

Finding ourselves in Beaumaris for the Evening we decided to try The George and Dragon. Still a gamble, somewhere new, when you are not a local. The service was amazing, food delicious and very fairly priced - more so if the huge portions are taken into account. I am of a size that I am not easily beaten by a mere starter and main course. But... Today I was. And for good reason. The food was delicious. Apparently the right blend of proper food and salad, but I tend not to indulge in that! Definately going to feature on the list of return places to visit.

We were a party of 12 and we had preorderd. Unfortunately we were 30 mins late by the time we all gathered together and sat at our table. My starter was chicken strips. It looked presentable but the chicken was dried up and very crunchy. My main was again chicken...the smothered with cheese and bbq sauce. The salad was very nice but unfortunately the bacon served was dried out and the chicken was well and truly dried out . I could only eat the inner thicker part of the dish. Both starter and the main were only luke warm. I did not complain on the night as I thought it was mainly our fault for being late but on reflection afterwards the food served should have been edible. The staff were friendly , obliging and courteous throughout .

We have enjoyed eating at the Y Garddfon pub at Felinheli on several occasions so decided to try the Four Crosses, as they are in the same group. The staff were super attentive. A pleasant young man showed us to a new table without fuss when a workman seated himself nearby and spoke loudly on his phone for a long time. I made a mistake when I didn't read the menu properly and hadn't realised the ploughman's sandwich had chutney within it rather than on the side. I sheepishly approached the bar telling the member of staff of my mistake. The lady made me feel at ease and changed the sandwich straightaway. I would like to thank this member of staff as I thought she exceeded all expectations and dealt with my dilemma in a most understanding manner. She is definitely in the right job!! The ploughman's sandwich was full of freshly hand carved ham and grated cheese and tasted delicious. My partner had Welsh rarebit and that was also thoroughly enjoyable.
