When you're paying for the extortionate prices for mediocre food. Unfortunately you need to leave a review. (1) Chicken Pakora (5 Small pieces) £7.80 I have to mention you don't paid these prices to eatin restaurants, example my local Chillies Hawthorn Street & Bawarchi in Anniesland. Also my local takeway you get 16 pieces each of fresh Veg £6 & Chicken £9 odds..plus two different sauces I believe this is the average prices between Anniesland-Clydebank area.

Usually food is decent but on this occasion it was awful, over cooked, dried fish, and batter on fritters was burnt. Very disappointed 👎

This used to be such a good fish and chip shop, but not these days, I’m sorry to say. For the past three visits, the fish (haddock) has been thin and covered in far too much batter. Worst of all, it was swimming in oil, so much that the cardboard boxes were soggy with oil. Chips were good, though, so it’s two stars instead of one. The shop itself seems to be organised around meeting demand for Just Eat and other similar delivery companies. Inevitably there is less care and attention given to the food preparation, and what used to be a highly regarded fish and chip shop is now just another very ordinary chippy. It’s also expensive, which was fine when the quality was very good, but now it’s not worth it. So after many years of my family treating themselves at Gennaro’s, we’ll be going elsewhere from now on.

Brilliant quality, fast service. very tasty!

No grease proof paper like usually provided. It wasn’t very pleasant to have all the food inside the cardboard box as it stuck.

Very disappointed with this delivery, ordered a single fish and a special fish supper, the special fish in particular was overcooked and practically inedible, paid extra for this special fish and I was very disappointed, every time I order anything from Gennarros that has batter on it, I don’t know who is doing the frying but everything always turns up too overcooked for me. I like Gennarros but unlikely to order anything from here again.

Usually the food is great but I waited 1 hrs and 40 mins from ordering. I tried calling the shop but just rang out. My pizzas were soggy. I'm hoping this was a one off 😞

Don’t get the spicy chicken burger I’m genuinely appalled it’s literally just the buns absolutely covered in paprika powder with a tiny chicken burger , no sauce , no salad , nothing just that and it doesn’t even give you an option to add sauce and salad

sadly macaroni cheese, tasted like out of a tin. pizza stuck to the box and was soggy. For a take away that normally so good this was very disappointing

Putting donner meat onto an under-cooked pizza, without any extra cheese, does not make a donner pizza. Horrible, soggy & under-cooked. Fish was dry & chips also under-cooked. Won't be back.

Fed up with local kebab shops sending me utter p🐠. Randomly tried a donner kebab from a chip shop… Was excellent! Putting multiple local kebab shops to shame! Driver was a fandan and didn’t read notes though 😫 knocked door, set dog off and woke up toddler 🙃

Ordered pizza deal ,12 inch onion an pineapple pizza and chips ,35 minute wait ,chips where piping hot an lovely ,pizza 🤔 yeah cold the pineapples where warmer shame cause it tasted nice and no I'm not paying nearly 18 quid to reheat a pizza that should have been hot

First of all i’m shocked at some of the reviews on here because I genuinely think it’s a brilliant chippy. I’ve always found the food from here very good and tasty. I worked in a chippy for years so I can tell when stuff isn’t fresh, never had an issue with the freshness or quality. We regularly get a pizza and a sausage supper as a Friday night treat & no complaints.

I was a regular here but one night the fish was really bad. I took it back the next day and was shocked at my treatment by the staff. Their attitude was terrible. Since then I have never been back. When you're paying over inflated prices for less than mediocre food it's time to go elsewhere which I did. I found a great local chippy where the staff are pleasant and the food is great and costs less. Win Win. ETA In response to the poor reply by Gennaro's...."Snazzy. Who takes a fish back to a chipshop a day later? Did this really happen? " Yes, it really did happen as you very well know. As to "who takes food back to a chip shop a day later?" That's easy...anyone who isn't willing to be fobbed off with sub standard food which you sell. Free advice for you, why don't you practise cooking decent food instead of trying to be smart in your replies to people who complain about the poor quality of your food? "Imagine doing that in any other food establishment. You would get told to F off. Enjoy your fish suppers " elsewhere" as you claim. Double fish and chips… more than enough for sharing along with pizza and chicken goujons. Batter on the fish so crispy and lovely with mushy peas. Could go on as all excellent. And delivery was so quick. Perfect and great value. Highly recommend

Food arrived at the start of our scheduled delivery slot. Driver was very pleasant. All our food was delicious and arrived piping hot. Fish was indeed haddock as stated. Fritters lovely and crispy. Food wasn't greasy, just perfect. Our new favourite in the West End.

Food was perfect but the rumbling tum I had before it finally definitely wasn't. Checking the app to see where they were at with my order I saw that it had apparently been delivered resulting in my having to call the restaurant. The food at Gennaro's is always top notch but the delivery was a huge problem.

Happy that they read the notes and added brown sauce as requested, but the chips were a little dry. Also, I only noticed after ordering that there’s a 45p bag charge, which is excessive. Perhaps forgo the fancy branded packaging that no one will see and just stick to bog standard, generic recyclable packaging?
