Gelatoburger in Argyll & Bute

Got the bacon and bbq cheese smash burger and loved it! I recommend getting a side with the burger and the portion of the burger is a bit small so getting a side would be a full meal. The servers were lovely and the service was quite fast. A great place for a quick and delicious meal. Their gelatos are so so good! I was told that the rum and raisins is their most popular and it did not disappoint at all.

To begin with, we were separated into two tables, even though there was room upstairs for 6 people. Service was poor, it took a very long time although we were no where near rush hour and were probably the only table. When the food was finally ready it was made to take away, then it took some more time.. When it finally arrived we were surprised to find that only the kids burgers come with chips.

Second tome in this establishment and what can I say ? EXCELLENT food burgers of perfection, milkshakes masterpiece , highly recommended place and great value for money. Keep up your high standards only wish you still did the burger fries and milkshakes for £10 that was perfection.

This place looks much better than it is. The food was cold, and not very nice anyway. The drinks arrived long after the food, and the staff forgot to make the desert we ordered.

I purchased a burger gor myself and Mac n Cheese for my Granddaughter. Both dishes came on the same small tray. Any restaurant or cafe I have ever visited would serve them individually. I ordered an Irn Bru and was served with a Pepsi max. Staff extremely unfriendly and know thanks or cheerio on the way out. I certainly won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this place.

Recommend the smash BBQ burger with blue cheese just awesome food.

Heard about this place for years from Crolla's in Leith. Decided to visit given I was in Oban and was pleasantly surprised. The burgers were bangin' and not too expensive, and the chocolate shake was as expected. Staff weren't too friendly but it was quite busy so they just seemed rushed off their feet more than anything, which is understandable! Got an ice cream to go, having had the snickers flavour before. Still the same, kind of average ice cream with no phenomenal amount of flavour (given how it's scooped, its texture, flavour, etc, it is not gelato regardless of what they say) but this was expected. Did find a hair in my scoop and as such didn't eat much of it anyway, but as someone who works in a gelato shop, this kind of thing happens on occasion so didn't overly bother me but the ice cream itself could do with a little something extra (not hair) to improve the overall quality. Either way, would recommend heading in for a burger and a drink for a quick lunch :D

Fantastic wee restaurant, I had the boerwars sausage bap with salt and chilli chips and jalapeno poppers... First class food, fresh and really delicious with great service, would definitely recommend...

On holiday and popped in on a whim, fantastic service from our server who was very sweet and didn't bat an eye at my crazy customisations and made sure to check up on us and explain when they had an issue with their till. The food tasted amazing and had great variety for their toppings, sides and desserts and we got their delicious icecream for our trip to the beach. Came back on our second day and it did not disappoint! I would definitely recommend your stop by and try their food or at least the ice cream!

I ordered a chocolate fudge waffle but when I got home there was no cream on it. When you're paying almost £10 for something and it's on the menu it should be there. It was too far to go back.

Was our first place eating in oban since moving to argyll. We were both really impressed with the quality of the food, the staff were very nice and attentive and food was quick to be served. Have been several times since and also recommend to friends to try.

Seating for 6 was unavailable but existed upstairs. We had no choice but to split our party. Otherwise would have given 5 stars. Will return nonetheless.

Significantly average at best. The food was dull and flavourless, the server was miserable and abrupt and the floor was dirty with food from previous customers. We also had halloumi fries which tasted nothing like halloumi and were overly breaded and the coffee we had was more milk with the hint of a coffee flavour. Wouldn't go again.

Just had the Philly cheese steak, although tasty be warned it’s not in a baguette it’s a small hot dog roll. Wouldn’t order again due to size well lack of. Will stick to the burgers and shakes.

Having read the reviews, we were a bit apprehensive ordering a takeaway, but you can’t please everyone, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the burger and wings combo and the burgers were amazing and tasty and and so were the chicken wings. Great portion size. Delivered within an hour too, so all in all, really great experience. Also we popped in earlier in the day and had some ice cream and OMG it was to die for and the portions were fabulous. Great value for money:)

Stopped in for a cup of tea, not knowing what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. I chose to have an apple crumble and ice cream topping on a hot waffle and it was delicious.

Great food - very reasonably priced!

Probably the worst burger I've ever paid for. Thin greasy tasteless frozen burgers. Dry stale frozen bun. Absolutely zero effort... service was good but sadly when you're serving food that poor it doesn't make up for it.

Poor burgers with basic buns and no salad you have to pay extra for chips on the up side the milkshakes were great It could be somewhere great to go to but it wasn't

We tried the cajun chicken and veggie burgers. Both were great. Very reasonable prices and very personable service.

We called in here yesterday I have a mixed review but most definitely would go back as the food was really good I had a burger with macaroni and chorizo and it was absolutely gorgeous with cheesy chips which were also good my hubby had a cheeseburger which he also thoroughly enjoyed we ordered dessert which took half an hour to arrive but they apologised and compensated us for which was just offered we didn't need to complain I think there was just a little lack of communication from the lady that served us who left for the day before we were served and it was nice when it arrived although maybe the waffle could have been warm it tasted good and the burger was absolutely gorgeous probably one of the best I've had Would go back if we are in the area again

Not sure if it was late for lunch but probably the worst burger l’ve ever had. Didn’t look anything like the pictures on their website.

Apparently some staff didn't turn up and they had no contingency, so the restaurant area was closed and we couldn't eat in despite turning up well over an hour before close. Chicken burger & bean burger were brutally dry and chips were impressively tasteless. Would certainly not rush back.

Got 3 milkshakes tasted like milk was off had to bin them

Definitely not worth the money spent at all. Chips on order tasted stale. Burger was alright but I’d say the limited edition burgers at McDonald’s are better at half the price. Worst of all we ordered churros which were not properly cooked with raw dough in the middle. Completely pale and chewy. Would not recommend at all.

Lovely service and delicious burgers. Would be nice if the deals you could choose a milkshake other than vanilla, chocolate or strawberry.

We always enjoy our visits in Gelatoburger. Way better than your regular fastfood. Staff is super nice and friendly. Toilets needs more tlc, though. Then I would rate it 5 stars.

Warning avoid avoid avoid sorry I can't give this no stars please read for the safety of the public On December of last year I ordered a takeaway from the local Gelatoburger in Oban after eaten my good a few days later I was made aware my food was contaminated I contact themselfs and an investigation was opened. In the last few days I have received evidence proving the delivery driver deliberately contaminated this food by spitting in the food burning the burger and doing something disgusting with the spoon my milkshake was made with. This has all happened during a global pandemic as far as I'm aware the driver that contaminated this food could of had the virus that's going about and didn't know about it putting my health as risk . I have access to 2 you've boys who I am in close contact with which could of put there health at risk aswell this is not on and they need to be stopped . I contacted Gelatoburger with this new information and was told it wasn't the driver bt the passenger and the drivers phone was being used without the drivers permission which I find very hard to believe being a delivery driver myself it's up to the driver/employee to deliver things safely and In a polite manner not the passenger who isn't employed by themselfs which in this case wasn't and feel there just trying to protect there driver due to the driver shortage. I enclose screenshots of the evidence I have and advise everyone to stay well clear due to the safety of the public. Environmental health has also been contacted thank you for ure time please feel free to share

Burgers to die for, waffles to die for and mmmmm.... have to try the ice cream. Reminded me of the old fashioned diner but with a more comfortable feel. Nice friendly staff, definately recommend.

Great ice-cream a member of staff from the Midlands as well who was very friendly provided the perfect ending to a perfect day in Oban.

Went for a sit down meal, but told they were only doing take aways. Was told all the staff were making milkshakes! Very disappointing as it was raining hard. Ate the burgers in our hotel room, but no knives, forks or condiments included - come on, this is basic stuff! Burger was warm at best, chips standard, like you'd get at McDonalds. Best avoided.

Didn't eat in here but stopped by for a caramel shortcake Sunday and it was unreal, pure enjoyment in a cup. Lovely spot inside as well and if I'd have had more time in Oban I'd definitely have tried the food.

Unpleasant large Chinese/ Asian woman serving. Snippy and rude. I gave her 10 pounds for my meal - a Scottish ten pound note - then remembered I wanted to keep it as last night in Scotland as wanted to keep it to show my son the different money. So I asked for it back and gave her an English ten pound note. She rolled her eyes, shook her head and kept that up the whole time she counted out my change. Yes, I suppose I was a bit annoying but there was no queue and hardly a big deal. No need for such rudeness or unwelcoming attitude. I should have walked out but unfortunately had paid. Will take my cash elsewhere.

Yesterday me and my friends went in and ordered 4 milkshakes and 2 waffles. Went to pay and they said we ordered 5 and charged us extra , then said we were lying when we said we didnt order the extra milkshake because they got the order wrong. Today we went back and asked for a table but they wouldn't give us one , then while we walked out the door they offered a table to the people behind us. Disgusting behaviour 😤

A fun place to visit. Very much an American, Italian burger place with lots to choose from. Even gluten free! Prices very reasonable too. Would go back.

Really nice food and service. Even though they'd closed for seating at that point because I'm quite pregnant they let me sit down which was really nice!

We visited on a busy Saturday evening. We were struggling to find a place to eat, often turned away by rude restaurants. We got to Gelatoburger, it was busy with takeaways and Deliveroo guys. However the staff accommodated us by letting us book for 30 minutes later. We came back after a drink elsewhere, food was great & the staff were friendly, exceptional customer service. Highly recommended. 👍

Went here today, asked for a table, we were told it was full so we ordered food to go, not a problem. However 5 minutes after we had ordered 2 different families came in and were told they could be seated!!!!. Our food arrived and we were ushered out of the door without any knives and forks, napkins or condiments. We had chilli loaded fries which can’t be eaten with fingers!!!! My daughter went back in and asked for forks sauces etc and was told they didn’t do them - they are on the counter at the takeaway part. Really not impressed with the service or food as we couldn’t eat it!!!! £42.70 NOT WELL SPENT.

Fab menu with lots of lovely ice cream to choose from. They do waffles with various fillings and also delicious milk shakes. Price is pretty much average. Can get very busy so be prepared to wait for a bit. Staff are lovely, very chatty and friendly.

4 flavours of vegan sorbet were on offer, and loads of flavours of gelato if that’s your thing. The sorbet was delicious and reasonably priced too.

The staff were really helpful and tailored my sundae, even helping me to choose the best option. It was so worth the travel and they made my order according to my taste preference. The sundaes are amazing and I wish I lived closer to have this more often! Wish I could try everything on the menu but only got one day. Definitely worth a visit

Long queue for 2 ice cream cones and a tub. Not because there were lots of people waiting but because the people mpakimg the cones up are also serving in the restaurant. Ice cream didn't have much flavour. When I wait 20 mins I expect it to be good. Disappointing

We've been dining here since they opened and the service has always been friendly and courteous even as the chaos of tourist season or Covid descends upon them. The food is excellent almost everytime we have dined in or had take away, when our order was running late last night the staff kindly phoned us to let us know of the issue, assure us that food would be cooked fresh & to offer us complimentary milkshakes (which are divine)....and it was well worth the wait, compliments to the 2 poor souls trying to run that kitchen shorthanded :)
