Gaucho at the O2 in Greenwich

We went to the O2 to see John Mayer and wanted somewhere special to dine perfect place lovely food we had Sirloin and a fillet with veg and skin on fries steak cooked to perfection and tasted amazing great staff very attentive everything was perfect

Terrible ceviche, had food poisoning from it. Tartare is inedible. Steaks are average. Quite disappointing overall, there are much better steak houses in London

We went here for a Sunday roast and we were extremely disappointed. The sirloin was very good however the potatoes were extremely dry, the carrots and beans were undercooked and tough - we were in a rush so could not complain or send the food back but will not be returning. I do have to say the service + atmosphere however was very good.

Good steak as always, good value on a Monday as no corkage and with one of us on the lunch menu. Cooking standard generally good but one steak overdone a bit after being sent back for a few extra minutes only. Very good service. Being 1pm on a Monday, hardly any other guests, so no atmosphere but can't expect anything else.

Average and overpriced. Booked for a pre-concert meal for 2. £155 for 2 steaks, 3 sides, and carafe of wine. Service was great, food cold, steaks slightly overcooked and tasteless, and uninspiring sides. Had greater expectations.

We always come to Gaucho before a show and have never had a problem finding a vegan option. It was disappointing to see they have removed the gnocchi and the only main dish option was a salad with the feta removed and then to add a side. Would be great if there was a Beyond burger at least on the menu as an option. I know the menu changes and I have another 2 reservations here so hopefully it will be more inclusive if we visit again.

We were sat on the 1st floor, we ordered bread and olives whilst we waited for our bottle of wine to arrive. 25mins later still no bread and olives so we asked again and was told it was coming. Our main's then subsequently arrived and was told by the waitress “it’s ok” it definitely wasn’t ok! She was extremely rude and the chips looked like they had been sat under a hot light for an hour.

It was an amazing experience. The staff was really lovely and kind and the food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely come back again!

The best steak I’ve ever had and the sides were delicious (mushrooms were my favourite). Big shout out to Anna (Saturday night) our waitress who was very attentive and friendly and gave excellent recommendations. Such a lovely evening!

Visited Gaucho at the O2 on Monday 04/03/24 for a pre event meal. We took advantage of the 'Bring Your Own Bottle' offer, which always helps keep the cost down a little. Please ensure you make it clear at the time of booking that you intend on taking advantage of this offer, otherwise there is a potential £35 corkage fee per bottle. Our server Mushtariy was excellent. Polite, welcoming, efficient and very helpful when we had to place a late order for a guest that had been delayed. Food was hot, and very tasty, although I found the seasoning perhaps a little on the heavy side. I would advise to taste before adding any more salt. All in all a really nice meal in a fab setting.

Took my sister for her birthday food was great and the service from all staff was lovely however our waiter George made the experience very memorable with his amazing service thanks George my sister really enjoyed herself!

The service was extremely slow, with the waiters not being able to find any wine provided in the wine list, after which we were charged for an extra bottle. The meat was served cold, and when we were told that we were given a discount for the bill, we were in fact overcharged. Check the bill!!!

Charged us for extra bottle of wine that we didn’t have, steaks arrived cold and late, made us late to the gig. £600 for 4 mains and 2 bottles of wine is ridiculous and the service very much was lacking.

Very bad service, the waiter was not able to fond the wine for half an hour, the mains came cold, in the bill they added extra bottle of wine. Never again

First time at this chain and overall pleased with the experience we had - friendly and helpful service, nicely paced and enjoyed the steaks.

I had lunch at Gaucho today with friend, and as always, the food was delicious, making it my go-to steakhouse in London for the past 8 years. However, today’s experience was not entirely pleasant. Upon entering the restaurant, a female receptionist was on the phone. My friend and I quietly waited, but instead of acknowledging us, she gestured with her finger to her lips, tell us not to talk，which made me fell weird，Nonetheless, I remained patient until she finished her call, she bluntly asked if we had a reservation and pointed towards the elevator, Upstairs, other staff members were welcoming, and the food was good as usual. However, as we left the restaurant, the same receptionist barely acknowledged us, giving off an indifferent vibe. I’m not sure if she was having a bad day, but I hope she finds some joy in her work, as it reflects positively on the dining experience for customers.

Beautiful restaurant, great atmosphere. The staff from the front door to the table were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was amazing, it was the best steak we have had. Would recommend this place to everyone

Food and drink was great - best streak l've had for years On a negative side - l felt RUSHED due to you wanting to get our table of 5 in and out very quickly I was enjoying a lovely bottle of wine with my family and kept on getting the look of get out

Had a lovely experience at this venue. The hostess Zara was most welcoming and accommodating. If you wish for a quiet drink before or after an o2 event this is definitely the place to be.

This isn't my inaugural visit to the Gaucho chain, but it marks my first experience at their O2 branch. As anticipated, the decor adheres to the standard set by all their restaurants, evoking the ambiance of a traditional steak/meat establishment. Opting for the beef tartare left me somewhat underwhelmed, particularly due to its portion size, resembling what could be described as a moderately poached egg. However, the steak and accompanying sauces proved delightful, especially when paired with a Malbec from Mendoza, further enhancing the meaty indulgence.

We went here as a family with my two ‘tween’ children (as they both love steak) and found to my surprise they were very child friendly. The food was fantastic although definitely premium prices! We were served by Emanuel and he was fantastic too. Would highly recommend Gaucho to anyone.

Little to none service, food very average. I had a steak that was tough and a member of staff heard me tell my wife and quickly brought over the manager who kindly removed it from the bill. Chips arrived seasoned, with far too much salt on them. Grandson had a child’s burger which was dry and tasteless. Overall just ok and far better options around and a lot less expensive.

It was a great evening meal, minor issue with our dishes (especially hot ones) sliding all over the table.

me and my boyfriend came for a meal for valentine’s, the booking had been messed up so we were told wait in the bar area whilst they found us a table. the man working in the bar wouldn’t even give us a chance to read the menu he just kept coming over to us and ask what we wanted when we didn’t even want a drink we were just waiting. i wasn’t a fan of anything on the drinks menu so i wasn’t fussed if i had a drink but in the end i ordered a single gin which was priced at £6 and my boyfriend ordered a beer which was priced at £7. so when he came over with the drinks my boyfriend paid and didn’t think anything of it. we then realised he had been charged £24?? he didn’t have a problem paying this but obviously it was confusing as to why something that was priced to only £13 nearly cost him double. i told him to go and query this so he went up to the bar where the man continued to say the gin is £14 and there is a £3 service fee which is fair enough but he then said “well this is an expensive place”. this comment was so unnecessary and just belittling. as previously said we didn’t have an issue we was just confused, also the service fee when he just kept pushing us and didn’t give us time to read the menu then continue to be rude to my boyfriend?? im not sure if this is just because we are young so he knew we wouldn’t really say anything back? other than the bar staff, the hostess’s at the door were very helpful and our server Carlos was lovely and very attentive.

We had a lovely table overlooking the O2 entrance, great for people watching! Food was outstanding, beautiful steak, amazing condition mushrooms and the desserts were excellent. Always a treat.

Perfect for a very civilised pre-show supper. The food, service and ambience are spot on. From the very warm welcome to retrieving our coats everyone was so nice and friendly. Carlos our waiter was excellent.

Server Carlos was great as were steaks. Ordered dessert but a no show. Chased it up but was then going to take too long as we had to go into show. Bill arrived with dessert being charged. Was taken away and brought back with dessert still being charged. Very poor and a very disappointing end to a celebration meal.

We went to Gaucho after seeing the matinee of Strictly. It is very convenient for O2. We arrived ahead of our booked time and at our booked time we were shown to our table. The steak was tasty and not much fat however the thinness of the cut meant it was difficult to get it served rare. My wife had the sea bass which she enjoyed. We had a carafe of one of the cheaper Argentinian red wines which was a good match for the beef but we felt a bit overpriced at £34, being something of a 300 to 400 % mark-up. My wife sat on the bench seat which was fine but I found the chair I was sitting on somewhat uncomfortable and quite narrow for my bottom. Overall I do not think it was good value, £130 inclusive of service for only two mains plus the carafe ,but I am not used to London prices. Having paid £7 for a bottle of wine and £9 for a beer in O2 I should have been better prepared for the high prices. I would still recommend it to friends accompanied by a price warning notice!

The food was great, as it always is at Gaucho. Service was very good, except in the bar area where only one bar tender seemed to know what they were doing, the others seemed like temps for the evening. This particular branch had a little less character than some of the others, partly because it was in the middle of a shopping centre. The food and table service made up for the other imperfections, though.

As a regular diner at fine dining restaurants I was very disappointed with my experience at Gaucho O2 on the 10th Feb 2024. It was my mother’s bday dinner and the service was poor. The waiter came over and opened a bottle of still water and poured it for us without even asking if we wanted water or if we wanted still or sparkling I found this very strange. Second issue was that after they took our starters away we were brought our mains with no offer of cutlery I asked the waiter can I have cutlery for me and my mum he brought me a knife and fork which was fine and then gave my mum the fork and knife and placed it on the table. He could see she had no napkin but did not even get her one. At this point I asked to speak to the manager as I was annoyed. What fine dining restaurant expects you to eat with cutlery that has been placed on a dirty table and not on a napkin I was very shocked, the waiter also did not write down our order correctly our sauce we asked for with our steak was not provided with the mains so we had to ask another waiter to give it to us. Thirdly it was very busy in there was unable to get the attention of the original waiter and had to keep asking other waiters for basic things like salt and pepper. I felt like I was in Nando's instead of a fine dining restaurant in future I will stick to my regular Gaucho’s which I frequent monthly Sloane Square, Piccadilly and Canary Wharf I always have a pleasant experience there. Now the manager did try to fix the situation by offering free drinks or free food which we declined as we just wanted to leave as we were fed up. He did remove 50% off the bill but then we had to ask for the service charge to be removed as my mum was adamant that this was not being paid as the service was poor. Overall I am thankful for the manager trying to solve the issue however I will never return to this location I just wish that Hakkasan was not fully booked as that is where we originally wanted to go but we settled on Gaucho.

Sadly it was not the best experience. The food arrived quickly but the waiter dropped one half of a burger onto another plate whilst serving and some of the filling went into both a glass of sparkling water and a glass of cider as well onto the plate of another diner at the same table. This was scooped by hand from that plate but some of the pickles from the dropped food were left on the other diners plate. We had to ask for the drinks to be replaced and the other food remained on the table going cold while we waited for the dropped food to be re served and for the accompanying fries to be delivered. They were tasty but very lukewarm /warm at best. Puddings were ordered and served and one had been dressed with a candle saying happy birthday- sadly no one thought to check who the birthday guest was so the candle was in the dessert of the wrong person. Brownie was extremely dry and crumbly A disappointing experience all round

Steak was sooo good , our server was very attentive and talked us through the cuts of beef - her name was ( dorinda ? ) something like that - thoroughly enjoyed our meal . They also bought my mum a happy birthday desert without us even asking !

I had a dinner with my cousin last night, it was good experience, great service provided by table host ( Mushtariy). Before dinner we had some drinks on the ground floor bar area, I had Mai Tai cocktail it was delicious, especially the bartender ( Billa ) he was friendly and provided good table service. Overall amazing experience. Highly recommended

Food came out within 5 mins of ordering! Never a good sign! The first chips were stone cold and the second were literally stale. The wagy burger couldn’t be served medium rare… they said it had to be cooked the through so obviously not fresh! Waiter was lovely but it was actually some of the worst and over priced food I’ve had.

I had a delightful experience at Gaucho restaurant. The staff was exceptionally cordial, adding a warm touch to the dining atmosphere. The food was not only tasty but also presented with finesse. The lychee cocktail was the highlight. The ambience complemented the overall experience, creating a pleasant dining environment. What made the evening even more special was the thoughtful gesture for the birthday girl – a delicious cheesecake adorned with a chocolate "Happy Birthday" message. Gaucho truly knows how to make celebrations memorable.

Great place to dine, good sized private room for a party of 20 very good food. Stake made as requested and delivered warm. Holding back on roasted veg. needs bigger selection and portion.

Very disappointed - probably our 20th or so visit to Gaucho and the worst experience to date. Quality of food was markedly lower than usual - one issue with the order being taken wrong, another was served almost stone cold - and another was an extremely fatty cut of meat - significantly different from eating the same cut many times before. Other elements of the dish were noticably poorer - breads, fries and sauces for example Appreciate cost of living rises etc - and in the past year since we last visited, costs have increased SUBSTANTIALLY - circa 20-30% from memory - allied with lower quality, that's a tough pill to swallow. Our party remarked on how poor the service was and how unlike the Gaucho of old it was - a number of errors with the order, and service team practically invisible, no check of was our food ok - significantly below what we would expect from a restaurant aspiring to punch at a high level. Suspect this will be our last visit to Gaucho - there are better alternatives in a competitive marketplace.

Expensive as Gaucho is known to be, but a really enjoyable meal with good quality food. Staff were really very good. Probably the only place I'm going to eat at when I visit the O2 in the future

Lovely meal before the Young Voices concert. Great starters and steaks. No time for puddings so will have to come back. Only disappointment was the portion size for drinks. Had a citrus negroni and it was served in a very small glass. Delicious but could have used more!!!

Popped in for a pre booked lunch and have to say it was awesome. 4 of use and not one complaint or issue for anyone. 2 had steaks, 1 had a burger and 1 had a pasta dish - all cooked to perfection. Good service and a lovely venue - great value for money and would definitely recommend

It started off quite loud as there was a concert happening that evening so took a while to quieten down . The restaurant is lovely, food was delicious and we welcome during our visit there, it was a lovely touch they have us a desert congratulating us on our anniversary

Very noisy, but we weren't there long (pre-show dinner). Food nice (mushroom tagliatelle) but small portion for big cost. Convenient as able to book on an event night which is unusual at O2

Arrived early and was shown to the bar. Wife enjoyed her cocktail. Then shown upstairs and were very well attended to by our waiter. He have some suggestions for food as well. We had a lovely main sides and a sharing dessert. At all times we felt well looked after and even received a complimentary glass of fizz as it was our wedding anniversary. Thanks for everything!

The atmosphere and service were great at Gaucho, however I wouldn’t say the same thing about the food. The food was of poor quality and salty, the chips were rock hard. It wasn’t just for me but my husband as well. His reaction was that Five guys was 10 times better than this. I was left disappointed for the price paid.

We went in a Friday Night. Firstly we were greeted and the host was sitting down on a chair isn’t a good look. As we made our way up to the 1st floor the and the customer service was impeccable all evening. We had an Italian gent serving us and his knowledge of the food and wines was perfect. As for the food. The breads and olives were lovely, the empanadas were amazing. However as we came to the main course. The steaks were average, the chips tasted over cooked and left on the pass for a very long time, the truffle mac and cheese was probably the most rubbery pasta I’ve ever had and there was next to no sauce with them. On a positive note we were celebrating there and the complimentary dessert was wonderful and tasted amazing.

Went in for a cocktail and a glass of wine after a concert at the O2. I had a whiskey sour, which was not only the worst one I've ever had it was the worst cocktail I've ever had. Too much bitters made it undrinkable and so I didn't. I was offered a replacement but my stomach was so upset by just a few sips of the undrinkable drink. I left with a very sour taste in my mouth.

the food was very good, with one exception the fries were too baked for such a decent restaurant, the service was +7, I was served by Guseppe, the food was +4, and the cake for my birthday with the inscription happy birthday +6, will I come back again, definitely yes, interesting decor

Have dined at Gaucho many times, always a good experience. On this occasion I felt our meal was on the cold side, not enough to send back or complain about. Still delicious. Had to ask for the bill more than once but again no big thing.

A disappointing visit. Food was very average, especially given the price. Service was also average, we had to wave to get any attention despite the waitress standing and staring at us for long periods.

Came here pre The Peter Kay show. We were incredibly tight for time but the restaurant couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food was superb, great quality, and served it super fast for us. Emmanual served us and he was wonderful. A lot of brands try to imitate Goucho but for me it’s the original and best.
