Gaucho in Leeds

Food was absolutely fantastic. It was pricey but you can absolutely tell why, sensational. Service was a little overbearing at times, trying to sell us more sides, more drinks etc. Sometimes less is more. Drinks were extortionate. I know restaurants make a lot of their money through mark ups on wine but this was something else. I think there were only one or two 175ml glasses that were under £10! There is also a 12.5% gratuity automatically applied. If this went to the chef fair enough but to apply it automatically and at this % is a bit of a joke. Disappointed in the end as it could be so much more if focus was on the customer and the food not the profits and selling as much as possible.

Great place, with great ambiance and food and drinks. Service was beyond expectations. I got the chimichuri beef and it blew my mind.

I liked that they showed the meat before cooking it. The waiter was friendly, helpful,informative. The empanadas sauce was 🤩 If you wanna have a great dinner, I can recommend this place.

Setting akin to an American steak place, dark and moody. Steak is excellent, and they offer some interesting twists from the standard choices.

Absolutely outstanding and easily as good as the Tower Bridge Gaucho, which we have visited several times. The staff really are superb, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was sublime. I also believe that I may have found the best burger created with their Wagu burger.

Had a great lunch today. We chose the set lunch and went in having decided to go for burgers. Our waiter asked whether we would like to see the meat board and proved extremely knowledgeable about the different cuts. We changed our minds and ordered the sirloin steak, béarnaise sauce and chips and it was a great decision. Lovely comfortable atmosphere, great service and delicious food! Unfortunately it was so delicious we forgot to take photos 😬

Been going here for their unlimited Sunday Roast and by far the best meat I've had. They cook the beef to perfection. Get the well done as its more medium than well. Veggies are very nice and their gravy is to die for. Will be my favorite place for a good ole Sunday lunch until I find another one! I'd definitely recommend this place 100%.

Outstanding service and very nice food only problem is the food goes cold very fast which is fairly annoying for the price.

Without a doubt the best roast dinner we’ve had in Leeds. Not the cheapest, but well well worth the extra cost. What made it absolutely brilliant for us though was the way the staff were with our kids, which is really rare to find with more expensive experiences. They were welcoming, kind and engaging with both our children which we really really appreciated and helped us to relax and enjoy ourselves. Will will definitely be back.

Had a lovely birthday lunch here a couple days ago. The service was absolutely fantastic. Especially the professional but friendly service of the host (apologies, I didn't get his name!). Made us feel very well looked after. And special thanks to our server Sasha, also. The food was delicious and our steaks were cooked to our individual preferences perfectly. This was the first time I had dined here and I hope to come again soon! The environment was just gorgeous, clean and inviting. They had a special lunch menu that was quite affordable, too, all things considered. Two courses for £25. I went for the Churrasco Cuadril and White Chocolate Panna Cotta for dessert and it was 10/10 - PLUS it was brought over with a birthday candle "on behalf of the whole team" which was just so sweet!

Celebrating my birthday in this venue was amazing, with just myself & my wife we were made to feel welcome, important, service was faultless. The food as exquisite as we expect having visited previously. Special recognition to our waitress Aleks who went above & beyond. Can not recommend this venue highly enough

We booked a table for 7pm but they couldn’t seat us until 7:30 for some reason as the table wasn’t ready… (this made us late meeting our friends after dinner and we were so hungry) not good enough as we booked earlier in the week so would presume that they are organised with bookings. The bar we sat at while waiting for the table was a mess.. glasses everywhere and the staff seemed very stressed. The food was ok.. not worth the money at all.. I have had better steak from Aldi and my prawns were quite basic. My partners steak also had a chunk of clingfilm cooked onto it and he only noticed it when it was in his mouth. They took the plate away and just moved it to a new plate.. no offer of a new steak. Disappointed is probably how I would describe it as we had to then ask for the steak to be taken off the bill.

Arrived ten minutes early for table had a QR code for free cocktails.Seated on time had to wait fifty minutes for food too long appreciate it was Saturday but fifty minutes is too long.Asked for water was not given the option of tap so had to pay £5 for bottle of water. Food was good but the free cocktails were added to our bill so beware !! Will be contacting the restaurant.

Amazing food, best steak I ever had. Drinks aren’t good though and very overpriced. I wasn’t keen on the lighting it’s very dark and the lights are like spotlights if you get sat under one it’s unpleasant. Staff were lovely, really good service. Would defo return but as a treat not regular. Thank you for a lovely meal

Exceptional customer service, great decor, warm environment, reasonable noise levels, great food and cocktails. I have not been to Gaucho for at least 10 years but, my gosh was it a beautiful experience. I had the Wagyu burger with bacon. OMG!!😋😋 I know it's a steak house and the steak here is exceptional but, that burger was unbelievable. I understand the hype surrounding this neat now. I am glad I tried it and I was definitely not upset that I didn't have a steak as the size was great although, I doubt any other burger will ever compare!! Lil

The Sunday roast was beautiful. The staff were lovely and went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed, even replacing my child’s lunch which was through no fault of theirs which was very kind. I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday when asked and we received a lovely complimentary dessert with a message and a lit candle which was a very thoughtful touch. Leo our waiter was fab.

wanted table back and told us straight away when we sat down. giving us a hour to eat. they managed to give us alittle more time but had to complain.

We had a lovely lunch at Gaucho, with very attentive staff and gorgeous food. Our steaks were all cooked to perfection, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

Great ambience and the service from arrival to departure was perfect. Great menu choice and the waiter took time to show and explain the different meat cuts. This is not a cheap restaurant and the prices reflect this but so does the quality, service and ambience and it is somewhere I will continue to frequent for both business and personal use.

Visited for army dinner on New Year's Eve. The service was great and the restaurant was quite busy with a nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed our visit.

Whenever I visit Yorkshire I'll aim to get myself a good roast. Visiting Gaucho was a real pleasure, it was a calm, classy environment with attentive waitstaff & greeters, and the gravy was the best I've ever had.

Had a really nice Sunday roast followed by cocktails, Leo did a fantastic job of looking after us. We will be back soon.

The female waitress serving us must have had a really bad day? It felt like she didn't want to be there at all. Her face was saying: you don't belong here. The food was good however I didn't even get what I ordered. Well done steak ordered came medium rare. I didn't want to waste such a great piece of meat and had it anyway. We will probably avoid this place because of this experience.

Food and service were very good! However, the ambience felt more like a generic restaurant than an Argentine steak house/restaurant.

I had the fish as not a meat eater, and although not a kipper the Bream had as many bone as one. Would not have it again. I was advised by staff that the fish had bones, but was disappointed by quite how many it had...I think the rest of my family were happy with the meat dishes. Really good meat restaurant ,,but wouldn't recommend for those who don't eat meat or are veggie.

We had a wonderful evening celebrating my fiancé’s birthday at Gaucho, the service was brilliant from start to finish and the food was amazing! Our server, Adrian (I think), explained all the cuts of meat to us and his knowledge was very thorough, helping us decide what to have. In the end, we both went for a steak tartare to start with (SUBLIME) and then opted for a beef bar sampler, which consisted of 100g of 3 of their steaks - opted for these rare and they melted in the mouth. Fantastic evening and hope to return soon.

The ladies toilets were a mess and service was very slow

I do believe Gaucho is a bit pricey, especially the drinks, but the steak is delicious. We went on a Sunday lunch time so it was quite quiet. One of our party had the roast and the meat was nice. The staff are excellent from welcoming you to the restaurant all the way through the meal.

Food and service was spot on. You get what you pay for.

Wonderful experience. I’m a regular diner at gaucho and time after time, everything is perfect. Started off with a drink at the bar, with a gin and tonic each - very refreshing. Then ate dinner, both of us having ribeyes which were perfectly cooked. Our waiter was lovely, couldn’t have done more for us. Thanks again for having us!

The first time I tried Gaucho, I was not disappointed, amazing service and amazing food, I ordered the Halal option earlier and it was a beautiful steak. A star quality. 100% recommend to anyone.

The restaurant has been recently refurbished since I've visited before last time. Customer service is fantastic, meats are most delicious in the world !!! Yes -It's a little expensive but it's worth every penny. You need to know that on the bill there is a tip 12% automatically added which I think is a bit pushy. I would give it anyway but I'd want to decide how much. Anyway I'd recommend this restaurant to everyone who loves steak. You won't be disappointed. Thank you!

Service was poor and food was not up to standard. Had to ask for our drinks twice.

Starters were amazing, mains were okay with part of the chicken undercooked, service was good but got two idiots sat next to us, vaping at table loud, video calling at time and very irritating, we wanted a romantic Christmas meal which was ruined and even skipped on desserts due to this. I tried there but won’t go back now due to the fact if I wanted loud and annoying atmosphere I would of gone to Nando’s.

Excellent meal on the back of a win for Leeds :) couldn’t find any fault at all.

As always, Gaucho didn't disappoint us, staff was super friendly and helpful, food delicious +++, they specialise in steaks and it's flavours always surprise me there again and again. My place for more luxurious date where you feel to be in right place and time for brilliant experience.

Waited 45 minutes for food. Then they Brought out well done steak, ordered medium. Sat and ate separately. Was told a fresh one would be 5 minutes was around 15. Would not recommend. Waiter wasn’t attentive just running around didn’t stop to speak.

Comfortable booths with subdued lighting, smartly fitted out basement restaurant, only thing lacking is a view (obvs.) Divine empanadas and smashing Argentinian steaks, wanted to ask how they get here though if they are carbon neutral ?

The food was fantastic and the service was great. We were sat slightly away from other diners so did miss being in the ‘hum’ of a restaurant but had a great evening nonetheless!

Specialises in steak but doesn’t do it to the highest quality you would expect. Not the greatest flavours, cook or sear. Went for a lunch which was a set menu. Great service. I chose the rib eye but after tasting a friend filet wish I had gone for that was really nice. Scallops were good. Cheesecake was nice but not much flavour to it. Cheeseboard was nice but was too full to enjoy much of it unfortunately. Been again since and had the filet, not cooked great for a steak restaurant, not a great Charing and not very juicy. Not a crust outside and over cooked in the middle.

We booked on the app at the last minute between Christmas shopping. I've never had it before but the Chateaubriand was so delicious. Sadly they did not have the Thomson and Scott Noughty Red which I was looking forward to trying. Our waiter was attentive and friendly.

Although the individual service from our waiter was excellent the food itself was disappointing for the price. Starter choices very limited unless you like fish cerviche, the steaks were mediocre. I had the 300g fillet priced at £49 including one side. The fillet itself was quite gristly and chips poor. I had to pay an additional £6 for grilled broccoli. For the price I would expect a much better quality meal. We were a party of 7, 3 people sat on one side of 3 tables pushed together but 4 along the other side, all crammed together on an uncomfortable bench, although we asked for a chair to be added to the end of the table, the placement of tables along the bench meant we were sitting across the middle of 2 benches together so quite uncomfortable. Very limited vegan/vegetarian menu too. Overall disappointing considering the cost.

We had a wonderful Sunday evening celebrating a special birthday. We had a fillet and rump steak which were both incredible and the service and atmosphere were just perfect. We could not fault anything. Highly recommended for a special treat

I am so disappointed but thoroughly impressed in the chef’s skill. Never in my life have I met a chef who can cook a singular steak three different temperatures. I ordered medium, but I got the delight of one quarter raw, another quarter medium rare, another medium and the last black. I sent it back three times to be cooked more, but he showed dedication to his craft and kept it the exact same. On a side note, why were the fries so soggy yet dry and empty? Paid £124.50, worth equal to McDonald’s. To all steak connoisseurs, the following rankings from best to worst - pearly cow, miller & cárter, cut and craft, tomahawk, and the fancy McDonald’s called Gaucho. PS, the steak photo is AFTER the three attempts to attempt a medium. Can you spot which one is the medium?

Wanted a great steak to treat myself and early evening table, Gaucho filled the bill perfectly, had the Tira De Ancho, delicious, would definitely go back when I have more time.

This is a lovely restaurant. Service was spot on, very attentive. The food was delicious. Would recommend. We had lunch there, the one thing I didn't like was the fact that it looked closed from the outside, we nearly went straight past it and would have missed out on a lovely experience, so I dropped 1 star based on that.

Quite slow service for an upmarket restaurant. Strange clientele and not what you’d expect from a higher end place.

Great place to treat yourself with a most excellent steak. They have a very professional service with a proper explanation of their premium beef cuts. Delicious food and cosy atmosphere. A word of advice: do not miss the Salted Dulce de Leche Cheesecake.

Gauchos is situated nicely at city centre. Entrance is slightly difficult for partially disabled individuals as a there is a staircase to get adjusted. Initially there wasn't anyone in the reception but very soon an individual attended. From then on it was brilliant. Very courteous, and respectful. Food was excellent. as we are celebrating a birthday, a beautifully decorated birthday cake came as complimentary. We will go again as quality of the products and service was excellent

Unfortunately sat next to someone you would expect to be eating in McDonalds !! Loud ! Obnoxious ! Rude ! Complained about everything then asked continuously for free drinks
