This is a very friendly restaurant. I booked a table on the app the night before which was very simple to do. Was greeted by a friendly member of staff who showed us to our table. The food we had was very very good and we wouldn't hesitate to go back. We both had a starter and main dish with rice, naan bread and poppadums. I had a coke and the bill was under £50 for both. Excellent value. They allow you to take your own alcoholic drinks which works well. Would recommend a visit to anyone

This was our second visit and everything went well first time but second was pretty dreadful - Hence the two star rating. We ordered a starter and then waited for over 30 minutes and the mains arrived. The starter had been forgotten! So the mains were taken away and after a short while we had the starters. The manager then came over and apologised and said the starters would be free. The mains then arrived and this is when it got really bad. The mains were warm! Not hot as you would expect. We complained and the mains were taken away and came back warmer but NOT hot. This was VERY disappointing particularly as the food was not bad. I would say my wifes Balti had too much onion in it. So not a good experience. When we paid up there was no follow up from the manager - I felt they were just pleased to see us leave. Basically I imagine you get good food here but if anything goes wrong then watch out!!

Ordered a family takeaway from Gandhi on a Saturday night. Their website stated up to an hour for delivery, so expected the delivery for 8.30pm, unfortunately we had to ring them up to chase and it arrived just after 9pm. The food was average at best and Luke warm. We were also missing an item from the order. I got the distinct impression when I rang that the order had been forgotten and had been sat for a while. I except food being late due to being a busy Saturday night, but not the quality and temperature of the food. I doubt we’ll order from this establishment again, which is a shame as it’s convenient. I’d order from Spice Lounge in the future or use one in Newmarket that delivers.

The curry was too thin and too sweet. Kebab was too oily and salty. Also the waiter was very grumpy. Food service was very delayed. Shouldn't go there anymore.

We use Ghandi frequently, and always enjoy our food etc, this particular time we were a party of six, three of us had Balti chicken, all three were not hot enough (temperature). All others were fine, slightly disappointed, but will not stop us going, always good atmosphere and perfect service.

This is the second time I've been to the Ghandi with a larger group and it was a fantastic experience. The food was excellent, the atmosphere nice, and the staff were great. It's not easy catering to a larger group but our food came out at the same time and the staff brought us glasses when asked and jugs of iced water. There is no alcohol license but that's kind of a plus as it's cheaper to bring your own bottle :-)

As always, great food and atmosphere, reasonable prices and attentive staff. Best Indian restaurant in the area.

The experience was phenomenal, we were greeted by the door being opened for us, and then seated immediately. The servers gave us great recommendations for the food. After eating, we were given little chocolates and warm towelletes. We went with our three children and they had a kids menu.

I love this place. Been going for years. But they need to start selling coke in bottles because it's always flat! And tonight the maitre d was grumpy and unwelcoming. Perhaps he's just having a bad day. Food excellent.

The best Indian restaurant around...all the staff are so welcoming, the owner always comes out to say hello and ask if the meal is ok. I have never had a bad meal, it has always been very good. So much choice on the menu, even for someone like me who does not like spicy or hot curries. Would highly recommend for a good meal.

Gandhi is our favourite curry house and we regularly travel 15 miles to eat here. Always great flavours and so consistent. During lockdown we ate takeaways which were also excellent. Our favourites are the chicken tikka dansak, Ceylon and rogan but honestly we’ve always enjoyed everything we’ve had. It is a long-established family run restaurant and there is no alcohol licence, so bring your own with no corkage! Staff are really welcoming and friendly. We can’t recommend them highly enough.

We recently got to return to our favourite Indian restaurant and we was not disappointed. There is plenty of choice and the food was cooked to perfection, but what made the evening was the excellent customer service by Siraj Begs who is always polite, friendly and accommodating. We have been going here for years and Siraj in particular always makes us feel welcome, I would thoroughly recommend a visit!

After shielding and being locked down for a seriously long time, I finally made it back to this excellent establishment. Newly decorated and with the same friendly staff I was well impressed. The food as usual was first class, so now I’m free again I’ll certainly be a regular visitor.

Our oven broke and we were getting bored of having stovetop meals while waiting for it to be fixed. We decided to try Gandhi after being disappointed by the other curry house we’ve always used since moving to the area. We were not disappointed, the food was so good we had it twice in one week (normally takeaways are a rare treat for us). Food was excellent quality and tasty, and delivery driver was friendly. The second time one of the dishes we ordered was wrong (we received a phall rather than the naga we ordered), however as we had already dished it up we decided to give it a go... delicious (but spicy). We will definitely be back and have already recommended it to all our friends.

Popped in late with a friend. Staff didn't make a great first impression. An acknowledgement of existence is all that's required. When that is lacking it feels a bit awkward to be standing in the restaurant waiting to be seated, which we were eventually. Food was pretty good though. If you like sweet curry this is probably your place. Lots of fruit based dishes on the menu, even a Byriani served with a korma sauce. I ordered a standard mixed biriani and that was pretty sweet.I liked it but if sweet isn't your thing you probably won't. Service didn't really improve. We asked for the drinks menu at one point and before he went to get it it was suggested that as they don't sell alcohol we don't need a menu.

Thank you everyone at the Ghandi. You did us proud on a very special family occasion. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we were all made to feel welcome. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

With Covid 19 having an impact on all of our lives The Team at Gandhi have not stopped delivering quality food.As you will be aware the restaurant had to close due to Government guidelines but don’t panic, Team Gandhi have continued producing the most amazing food and will deliver within certain areas from their Mildenhall base. We had out first visit to Ghandi today and, frankly I am so impressed I have written this honest review. We had traditional veggie curries and veggie side orders, and they were superb. Packed with lots of tasty veggies and flavour. A lot of Indian food is based on meat, and it is so refreshing to find that this restaurant takes the veggie option seriously and delivers a first class meal. The owner and his staff are so friendly and made us feel very welcome. The service is brilliant and the value outstanding. Thank you for a great dining experience.

Been going here for years, by far the best food and service of any restaurant in Mildenhall. Other restaurants... (spice lounge), bribe customers with free vouchers if they vote for them in awards, don't be fooled! The place has history and has been run by the same family for years, a true local community restaurant.

We got a take away for 4 rather than eating in. The restaurant itself is quite small but the staff were friendly and helpful. Meal came to around £65 and was ready in about 10 minutes. Special mixed starter platter was small despite being told it would be generous. The meal on the whole was nice but we have had nicer and for less.

We came here with family 2 years ago and we thought the restaurant was excellent back then. We had a very stressful drive and they stayed open for us so we could eat. We then revisited this year and were more than impressed with the service. The staff and owner were so friendly and we loved talking with them. We are from a Birmingham so well versed with eating good curry and loved the food they cooked for us. It is all freshly cooked at the restaurant. My father loves spicy food and was impressed with how his food tasted. They even had food that our 8 month old loved! The whole restaurant feels like home when we eat and the food is an excellent price. They deserve all the praise you could give. Thank you so much!

Had a take away for 10 people, all the food arrived hot, fresh and tasty. Would however like them to include a few free sides such as salads and poppadoms as this adds quite a bit to the bill. Not the cheapest when you add the rice and extras but great food.

Ordered by phone, took about 45 mins to deliver and arrived lovely and hot. The food was so tasty and fresh, really good size portions.

Ordered directly via phone. The man who spoke to me was really helpful and attentive. Ordered an all potato madras and all potato vindaloo, mushroom rice and naan. Delivery was prompt and food was excellent. It was a fair price for great food. I Would recommend as the better curry house in Mildenhall for food and service.

Popped into the Gandhi whilst staying over for a business trip with a colleague. Although not very busy the food was very good and the staff very obliging. I would go back.

Firstly meal this time was a delivery for New Year's eve with friends.I had a job ordering on line as we are out of the delivery area, this was solved by an email to Shaz who ordered the whole meal for me. Nothing was too much trouble. Meal itself arrived on time & was first class, all friends agreed and it traveled very well. Can't speak highly enough about the Gandhi, always go out of their way to help and provide superb food as well.

This is my favourite Indian restaurant by a mile and has been for years, staff very attentive and food is amazing. I tried the new chicken wing addition from the menu as I’m a huge wing fan and they were the best I’ve had. Having lived in and around the area since 1989 it is clear to see why the Ghandi has last longer than many other stores and restaurants!

You never get a bad meal at the Gandhi. Staff are always so polite and even when I have it delivered, it’s spot on. They don’t serve alcohol but you’re welcome to take your own and they will provide you with glasses etc. This is a bonus in my opinion!

Best curry in town, now they’ve added new dishes. New to the menu are chicken wings, WOW!! So good, really pack a punch (ghost chilli). Great service as usual!! Yeah

Would proudly recommend to anyone in the local area as the food is exceptional and the service is very good. There are a wide range of dishes but I would personally recommend a Bhuna or the Balti as they have pleanty of flavour but are not too spicy. I would also recommend any of the starters as they are all full of flavour!!

parking was a problem in the village had to book early to get a seat in the restaurant 6 of us, food was good and hot shame they don't have a Bar licence only soft drinks available which put a downer on our family trip out , very busy on the day would go back.

Every time I have been here it has been lovely.its absolutely the best indian around, never had a bad meal and staff very friendly.

Our first visit to this restaurant, bring your own alcohol and they have the glasses. Very clean and tidy, the kitchen can be viewed and is spotless. Staff very helpful if you are unsure how hot a dish is, or to suit your tastes. We had onion bhajee's for starters, then lamb tikka massalla and pilau rice, and chicken kurma with peshwari rice, together with bombay potatoes, aloo gobi, chana bhuna. This was probably the best Indian meal thet I have ever eaten.

Incredible meal just perfect all the food was served hot and perfectly timed.

Have been going for years and it has its ups and downs but this last yr the food has been amazing! They are the only ones I have found who do a sweet and spicy chilli chicken tikka marsala. The naan bread is perfect and they care about their customers. If somethings wrong tell them and they will fix it.

Food was great, and the staff was very helpful. A couple of people in our party had never had Indian cuisine. The waiter offered great recommendations on what to have. We all enjoyed.

These are all the things we usually order when we go here. So the Bengal chicken has yellow curry with tomatoes and potatoes garnished with a slice of cucumber. Very tasty. The chilli chicken masala has a red sweet sauce but I don't remember the other ingredients... It's sweet and spicy all in one. The kemo(?) Rice is different colors with lamb bits in it, still very good. Garlic Nan is so good always freshly made. They have a friendly atmosphere and I like the soothing green colored walls, but most of the time I have the food delivered. They're very punctual which I appreciate.

I have lived in Mildenhall for 20 years, as a local I can tell you this is the best curry house in our village. They are a family run business that have been going 40 years. Staff are freindly and the food is the best I have tasted in the UK. By the way they also deliver. They dont sell alcohol anymore only soft drinks, but BYO is OK and cheaper and they will keep it cold for you.

I arranged to meet a friend in Mildenhall for lunch. This was the only curry place that was open at that time of day. In fact, most of Mildenhall seemed to be closed! The food was OK, but the portions were very small compared to most Indian restaurants that I have visited. The size of the portions was not reflected in the prices, which were standard.The restaurant does not have a licence for alcoholic drinks. This was a bit disappointing. They did say we were welcome to nip 'across the road' and buy a bottle from a supermarket and bring it back. But having walked around Mildenhall already, we really didn't feel like doing this.Most similar restaurants bring either chocolate mints or some aniseed mix with the bill at the end, as a courtesy. (These act as a palate cleaner and breath freshener.) None were offered here. I won't rush to go back to this place, but if you are in Mildenhall at around midday, at least you can get some food here!

If you want a good Indian takeaway, Gandhi is first class, the food is excellent, the staff are efficient and the delivery quick. We really rate the Gandhi and would recommend it highly

We tried Gandhi quite a few times on a Saturday night and always been very welcomed. The food is really good, not at all greasy like alot of other Indian restaurants. The other big bonus is you can take your own wine or beer at no extra cost, so it really helps to cut down on the price. Would certainly recommend Gandhi of anyone.

I'm not one to leave bad reviews, and I'm sorry to say it but I found this place really disappointing especially after reading all the good reviews. We only ordered a few things but all of them were wrong:The Sag Paneer had NO Paneer, only a tiny amount of melted cheddar. The Prawn Puree tasted good but came with NO puree. The lamb in the Madras was very tough and almost inedible.Was supposed to be 10% off on collection but this wasn't offered.The Garlic Naan was the only thing that was vaguely like expected, even then not actually that much garlic.All in all very disappointing, and a real shame. I'm afraid to say I won't be going back, sorry :(

I chose this restaurant for a party of 10. S large variation of food was ordered. 9/10 raved about the flavor and taste of the meal. My tandoori chicken was a little dry but the lamb and shrimp were good. I really liked the cheese bread and egg fried rice.

Me and my husband called to place an order for delivery an hour prior to closing time. The phone was answered and my husband asked could I please place an order for delivery. The man on the other end of the phone let out a giant sigh like it was a problem we wanted delivery. It was loud enough to where I could here it across the room. I told my husband to hang up the phone so he said never mind the man from Gandhi then got even more annoyed and said no what do you want! My husband just said forget about it and hung up. Disappointing as we love the food but now put off from ordering there.

My husband and I ordered delivery from this local spot. The food arrived fairly quickly, and was quite good. I have now eaten from both Spice Lounge and Ghandi Indian restaurants. Spice Lounge was pretty good, but I liked my food from Ghandi Indian restaurant better. I cannot speak to the atmosphere because we haven't been inside. But we do plan to visit, and will definitely be ordering from here again. I tried the garlic naan and butter chicken. My husband got the madras curry chicken. He said it was very spicy, but he loved it!

Very good traditional dishes. If you like Indian food, this is the place. Very fast and respectful service and wait staff. Warm towels to clean you digits after your meal.
