I visited today for the first time with my children, mum and mother in law for Mother’s Day. I cannot fault the food at all, it was beautiful, however I was disappointed with the overall service. We seemed to be waiting a very long time to be served between courses, especially the dessert where we waited way over 30 minutes for 2 desserts. I also don’t feel the staff were very attentive. From a food point of view I would visit again but the service let it down unfortunately.

Overpriced!!!! The Lamb shank was a tiny bit dry and was not very tasteful. You could tell the just had been poured onto it. I would give it another try but definitely not the Lamb shank. The best option would probably be the pizzas and other grilled stuff Good service though. Nice setup. Average experience overall between 2 /3 stars

I really don't want to write a long review! It was an experience I would like to forget. Waited 50 mins before drinks reached the table and over one and a half hours before a starter reached the table. I was so frustrated I got up and left, not before I complained to the manager.

First time here and won't be the last! 2 adults, 2 kids - we ordered a selection of pizza & pasta and the food was SO nice! Really impressed! Was a shame to see it so quiet - especially with 20% off all food - see you again soon! :)

Cozy place. The food is top notch, very tasty. I recommend everyone to order tiramisu for dessert; the chef prepares it himself. I will definitely come back here more than once! :)

“Mum, I don’t want to go anywhere too fancy … or too casual”, my son said. It’s hard to get grown up sons together for celebrations when they are scattered to the four winds, and you don’t know the restaurants in Leeds. Throw in a mum who has accessibility needs and the search gets harder. I scrolled for hours, WhatsApp was on constantly as we messaged back and forth options, but as soon as I stumbled upon Gallery 41, I sensed we’d found the place. And they happen to have a 20% of all food deal on throughout November for certain days, which just happened to coincide with N’s birthday. It was a no-brainer. So, after a two-and-half-hour journey, collecting two sons along the way, followed by a pleasant, but chilly, afternoon wandering around Kirkstall Abbey, we were ready to eat, and, my, did we eat handsomely. There’s a saying that you are never fully grown up until you can say you enjoy olives. I cannot abide them and am quite happy to stay in child-like innocence for the rest of my days, but both sons and dearly-beloved love them, so a side of olives was the perfect starting point as they fell into that easy chatter that gives all mums a warm syrupy feeling when they observe it. Hey, they made it to adulthood and still enjoy each other’s company … you must have done something right, girl. Then the garlic bread. Son A says, “Mum, this dough is amazing … some of the nicest garlic bread I’ve ever tasted.” He’s a professional foodie and knows stuff like that. And it was…gorgeous, creamy, light, and gone too quickly. I made one mistake. I only ordered one portion of the Skin Fries. They are Moreish with a capital M. We almost had a fight over the last ones, but being a kind, generous soul, I let the birthday boy have them. Students in Leeds apparently don’t feed themselves properly, and the poor boy looked starving. Then the main event. The two meat eaters ordered Spiced Pepperoni and enthused about the huge chunks of Pepperoni, the jalapenos, more olives, what superb grade of tomatoes had been used, just the right amount of oregano and the velvety mozzarella, that pillowy soft dough, and the sheer size of the dish. Those lessons about using a knife and fork were lost – they were enjoying it so much. Dearly-beloved had the Vegetarian, packed with tender, sweet aubergines, and courgettes, seasoned with thyme and rosemary. I hovered over a Risotto, but was under strict instructions to order a pizza, so that ‘fair’ taste swaps could be done (Note, two sons chose pepperoni, the ploy being that we would never swap with them, but they could ask for samples of the veggie choices knowing that good parents would not refuse a hungry child!). So, I chose my absolute favourite. A pizza to outdo all pizzas when done well. The Florentina. Feathery clouds of mozzarella enfolding gorgeous tomatoes, baby spinach cooked to perfection - so clean and mild, with not one hint of bitterness, nutty-sharp parmesan, and, of course, an egg perfectly done right at the centre, that oozed and ran freely in the way any self-respecting egg should. I wrapped my arms around it protectively and muttered, “Mine, all mine…”, but it was of course shared, and pronounced glorious by all. “Dessert? You still have room for dessert?” Silly question. Dearly-beloved always goes for the stickiest, gooiest chocolate cake there is. Son A, having eaten as much of everybody else’s pizza as he could get away with, in addition to his own, unsurprisingly decided an Americano was the perfect finish to his meal. Son N chose a Tiramisu, which arrived with candles and the sound of everyone singing ‘Happy Birthday’ which was a lovely, kind touch. Son A found a new appetite, insisted he didn’t want one of his own, but helped his brother eat his! I always look for a lemon dessert, so chose a simple sorbet, followed by a pot of English Breakfast – just the thing to warm the insides before leaving this fabulous restaurant and going out into the cold night. It's difficult to get scattered adult children together, but Gallery 41 provided just the right atmosphere. No loud music, just a gentle background of sound, that made conversation easy. Beautiful, clean, well thought out space. We were in the conservatory which felt like having our own personal dining room. The staff have achieved that just-right balance of being attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The menu is far more varied than I’ve made it sound, with some gorgeous sounding dishes. I have two more sons and a wonderful daughter-in-love, unable to join us for this meal, so perhaps a return visit may be in order – and a memo to self to order far more Skin Fries when it happens. It's the simple things that matter in life. Family celebrations, good conversation, food that is cooked with love and care, and finding ways to say ‘ti amo’ when the family table isn’t a practical option to gather around. Gallery 41 was the perfect place to slow down for a couple of hours and share quality time with some of my family, and I thank them for their hospitality.

Such a lovely quiet restaurant. It’s a shame it isn’t busier, as we don’t have many nice small restaurant businesses in Kirkstall. Food is really good, as is the wine. The staff seem really friendly whenever I’ve visited and the price is reasonable.

Superb as before. 21 in party. Wonderful food, excellent service. If you want to pay individual bills tell them as you place your orders. Check the special items board. On street parking on Beecroft Street a short walk away. Stepped access and toilets are below single flight of steps. Small but well stocked bar. 3 good pubs nearby, West End House, The Bridge, The New George whose welcome is amazing.

Menu has changed since we were here last but more mainstream and they also have a kids menu. Prawn cocktail was delicious, as was the pasta - not something I usually order but always great here. Everything tastes freshly made and they still have the option of a 'mini' dessert with a coffee - great if you've indulged in a starter and main already. A great place to eat midweek and on a special occasion.

We loved the soup as a starter but unfortunately both meals (lasagna & pizza) were disappointing. I’ve only had a bit of my lasagna as it turned to be extremely greasy, swimming in sauce full of oil/fat. Pizza on the other hand tasted like a store bought one. I can’t recommend this place, sorry!

We love Gallery41 so much we always choose it for community birthdays and we're never disappointed. I was there with my husband and friends for my 71st birthday yesterday and as always it was a wonderful night.

This was a great place for a family meetup and provided decent quality food, however had a steep price for what it was. Overall decent and would come again

Really tasty and reasonably priced. We went on bank holiday Sunday afternoon and there was no one else in, which seemed strange because the food was really tasty and the portions were generous. The staff were attentive but understandably seemed bored. I will definitely be going again

I ordered steak and chips to go and had one of the best steaks I’ve ever tasted. The pepper sauce was outstanding, the chips were excellent and the salad was fresh and crisp. I will be returning to book a table soon!

Had enjoyed the meal at the time. Service was ok but we were forgotten about after the main course. I did not enjoy spending the next day sick from food poisoning from the seafood linguine. Having checked the current food hygiene rating is 3/5 and food safety is listed as 'improvement necessary', I think that explains it!

The most disgraceful place I’ve ever been in my life the manger was shouting at his own employees , the food was not up to standard and you could even tell his employees just started as she looking scared and didn’t know what to do , I feel sorry for her and this place was not up to my standards . I saw a rat running across the floor and the food tasted like poo and sugar with a little bit of salt on it

1st time visiting, pass often and always said would call in. Lovely food, reasonably priced and service was good. We were the only ones in the restaurant at lunchtime which was a shame because its a lovely place. Definitely worth a visit.

The quality of pizza was good. Other dishes not recommended as the menu needs working to slightly be better; cook time, flavour, presentation. Decent amount of tables and chairs for big gatherings.

Visited Gallery 41 on Mother’s Day, there were 15 of us, most of us choose from the Mother’s Day set menu, the food was lovely, everything was cooked well and the service was good, will definitely be back

Had a lovely meal here very good value. Parking was a little difficult which is a shame as it may put people off visiting.

Food was great but the service was terrible as they took 2 payments off my card and said they only took one and only just managed to get one of the payments back through my bank . The manager didn’t even show his face to try and resolve the problem before leaving and left his poor waiter to deal with the problem . Really not impressed and will not be returning after this and would not recommend, if you do go pay with cash

Scammed me and took two payments off my card. The manger refused to come out and explain him self instead he sent the waiter to face the music. Coward! Unfortunately the customer isn't always right here. This was the first visit and most definitely the last visit. Still waiting for my bank to resolve the issue. This manger shouldn't run a business.

Service is amazing, really nice staff lovely the experience of coming every single time without a fail. I can recommend. Car parking available too so that's a bonus in Leeds. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The food is excellent but the service lets it down a little. We were a group of 14 so it was difficult for the staff but one of our table was missed out and had to wait for his starter while everyone was eating and drinks service was slow and not organised. That said the food is top drawer and I will visit again In a smaller group

Enjoyed a nice meal here. Garlic bread starter is superb. Mrs had tortellini which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had meat skewers nothing special and a bit pricy should have had spag bol in hindsight Ambience is good and service very good also will be returning as one of best restaurants in our area tbh

Just come home from our first visit to Gallery 41 and we're very impressed. The place is lovely with a nice ambience and the food is wonderful. Lovely waitress for whom nothing was too much trouble and a really nice atmosphere. This will not be our last visit 😊

My first time visiting tonight with my partner, the restaurant was immaculate and had a calm presence immediately. Mostly the staff were exceptional and customer service was spot on from everyone who served us, the food was absolutely amazing also to say im a fussy eater and was quickly made and brought out. 10/10 !

Absolutely excellent little local restaurant. The prices are more reasonable than anywhere else I've been in Leeds and this is coupled against the outstanding quality of the food. Staff are friendly and the service is quick. Would definitely recommend trying it out.

First time visiting this restaurant and really wasn’t sure what to expect. The food was amazing, we had no complaints what so ever between a big group of not the easiest straightforward people! Everything was so fresh tasty and cooked to perfection. The team in the restaurant handled our party of 14 very well and professionally. I don’t think it’s too badly priced for the food (I had 3 courses for under £25) Would recommend and return! Thank you!

Food was OK but service was awful.

Gallery 41 is still something of a hidden gem. Which is both a shame and adds to its charm. Its spotlessly clean, the bar is well stocked and quite diverse. But two things make it stand out to us. The food and the staff. On every occasion the food has been fastastic. The soups are home made, well balanced and comforting. The tandoori prawns are crisp, succulent and firey. Everything is magnificent. The staff are amazing. Regardless of the combination they are more host than server. Warm and chatty with a respectful distance while you're eating. The place is flawless. Go and see for yourself.

Great local Italian reasonable prices and good food and service

We ate here as a family midweek. We thought the starters were overpriced. £6.50 for the garlic mushrooms which were thinly sliced - not full mushrooms and not really garlicky. Mains were quite nice although my partner would have preferred more sauce with the carbonara, he thought it was a bit dry. The grilled lamb and chicken skewers were lovely. No draft beer - £7 for large bottles of beer. It was nice but nothing outstanding and I think a little overpriced for location.

I love this place. The space is lovely and the atmosphere is really relaxed. We eat here regularly because there's so many things that I enjoy on the menu. It's a traditional menu with very few surprises, everything I have tried has been really tasty. Great for a relaxed lunch at the weekend, with friends or family.

We finished our meal here a few hours ago and were still talking about what a pleasant experience it was. The wait staff are charming, welcoming and strike that perfect balance between present and absent. You're drinks are never left empty. But you're in no way hastled. They were fantastic and are an asset to the place. The food was exceptional. I've worked in food for a long time and honestly, very impressed! From the soup of the day to the rib eye. Quality, and freshness run through every dish like core ingredients. I would add aswell, the pricing is absolutely fair. My single criticism is, sort the gents toilets. They let you down. If you're considering coming here, do. If you've been meaning to for a while, get on it! This place is a treasure and as such it should get a little support from food lovers. Thank you to the staff of Gallery FortyOne for a splendid meal and excellent service. We will certainly be back soon.

Called in for a late lunch today last outing with son before dropping off at University was met with very friendly and helpful staff, atmosphere as everyone else said is class three different meals, pasta dish,pizza and salad all lovely. will be back plenty of times over the next three years. 👌

Service was very slow to get going. Waited too long to order, when it wasn’t busy. The garlic and mozzarella garlic bread was nice just very oily. Then we ordered 2 pasta dishes, 1 was fine the other was mildly warm, so sent back to reheat. Nice atmosphere but nothing special. Won’t be in a rush to go back.

2nd visit last saturday. We sat outside as we had before and it was lovely and relaxed. Its got covered roof and heaters. The food was very nice, would recommend the prawn cocktail. The staff are pleasant, they didn't rush us but every now and then someone walked by to check if needed more drinks. If you are in a bigger party prob need to go indoors as seating is small outside, though they have a small private room outdoor. Total price £63 for 2 starter 2 main 2 wine 4 beer 1 coffee. Will go again and def reccomend to anyone.

1st visit to the restaurant. Food was excellent. Garlic mushrooms for starters, sea bass for main. Service was very prompt. Also waiting staff and owner very friendly, considerate and making sure we were happy.

We are visiting family in Leeds and we had a fantastic meal out. Food was excellent, lots of choice and very reasonably priced compared with the prices that we pay back home In Hampshire! The best bit however was the service which was just exceptional from all the 3 young people who looked after us so well….we will definitely be back….thank you!

Nice went there with family. Service not that great. When served our drinks we wasn't told what's vodka and what's martini so we had to taste them to see. Staff bit slow served food then had to wait for cutlery so food was getting cold. Had to go to the till and pay as no staff come to take payment. Food was nice meat cooked lovely.

Me and my partner visited gallery 41 today and I have to say I am nothing but impressed. I got the spinach and garlic chilli side which was one of the freshest and nicest dishes I have eaten recently, a gorgeous balance of fresh garlic and fiery chilli an absolute 10/10and a must try. We had a garlic bread with mozzarella to share which again fresh thin and crispy absolutely perfect in my book. Mains were delicious also and the portions are of good size, all in all I would rate this place an awesome 5/5 for food and service. All staff very polite and courteous would definitely recommend to others!

Every single time (which is fortnightly) we visit Gallery 41 we enjoy the food and experience. A beautiful place with perfect dishes. A family run business which needs to be recognised as a little gem of Kirkstall in Leeds. If you feel like you need to get away and have a taste of the Mediterranean, visit this lovely place. We go back often and cannot rate the restaurant enough.

We went to Gallery 41 for dinner yesterday and had the worst restaurant experience ever. After an hour and 40 mins we had only had our starters brought to us and would have to call someone's attention to ask for more drinks and to have our empty glasses taken. There were people that arrived alot later than us that already had their mains well before us. Then our table collapsed with meaning that our drinks fell off the table along with my husbands phone. My husbands phone smashed as a result of this. When we told the waiter that we wanted to leave we then learned that our food hadn't even begun to be prepared! This is absolutely disgraceful. We waited for an hour and 40 mins and our food hadn't even been prepared!! I wish that I could give 0 stars!

Loved this restaurant before the lock-down and even better now with the newly built covered outdoor areas. Food as amazing as ever, very reasonable waiting time and lovely helpful staff. We've always found the owner to be extremely friendly so it's a great night out.

We have just had a wonderful meal as always at Gallery 41. We have been coming here since the restaurant first opened and have never had a poor meal. There is a reduced menu at the moment which is understandable but the food was delicious. The owner needs lots of credit for spending vast amounts of money to create a really attractive outside area.

Such a fantastic, underrated little place. Great pizza, good quality and good value. They have a new (heated) terrace for outside dining which is the perfect sun trap for a bottle of wine after work.

If I can advise you of one thing it would be to not visit this restaurant! The manager/owner as you can see from previous reviews is a very nasty rude person. He treats his staff like dirt on his shoe and it’s quite evident they are scared of him, if you say anything against him staff or paying customer he will happily erupt publicly. I walked past the kitchen seen him smoking a cigarette whilst handling food we had to leave at that point. This man doesn’t deserve your money.

Great restaurant when open but also the takeaway is 5☆ too, if you haven't tried it give it a go, you won't be disappointed.
