Nice peaceful place to enjoy my mocha and caramel shortbread cake.

Dreadful! Stopped serving hot food five minutes after we arrived ( 2.15pm) on a Saturday afternoon!! Asked for a Welsh breakfast & was told they don’t serve all day breakfasts. Asked for a bowl of chips & was told the drier was turned off. Ended up with a lukewarm panini. Awful- trying to support our local businesses- huh!!! And you wonder why people go to Costa!

Nice and clean. Staff friendly. Prices fair. Bit odd it was nearly empty as nearly all the tables were reserved. We were lucky and got the last table but the time we were there most tables still empty.

Lovely breakfast in relaxing atmosphere, lovely views out over the harbour.

Fantastic lunch. Enjoyed the homemade soup and sandwiches. Very helpful staff, and such a calm, chilled vibe in the large atrium/bar area. Very recommended.

We came across Galeri Cafe Bar by good chance in our search for breakfast and were so pleased that we did. The setting of the cafe is amazing with a fantastic view of the harbour with a choice of seating both inside and outside the building. The welcome was very genuine from the young lady who took our details for the COVID requirements and from all the girls in the cafe itself. All of the staff were very pleasant and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our food was fantastic! The Welsh Breakfast was excellent and came at an incredibly reasonable price. We thoroughly enjoyed the break in our journey and felt very safe in the cafe’s COVID arrangements that were clear and effective. The Galeri will definitely be a regular stopping off point when we travel down to visit Wales in the future.

We decided to pop in for a coffee whilst taking a stroll around the harbour. Excellent Covid regulations with temperatures being taken, together with personal details for track and trace. Our young waitress was very friendly and efficient and we thoroughly enjoyed our coffees and toasted teacakes, which was served with soft butter. We get so annoyed when we order toasted teacakes and they are served with frozen butter.

Can't thank the staff enough. Group of us turned up after seeing a friend get married. They accommodated us for coffees and also gave the bride and groom a glass of bubbly. Really made the day that little bit more special in these odd times

We had a couple of breakfasts here whilst we were staying in the neighbouring Premier Inn. Whilst they offer a cooked breakfast we just had a drink and toast and marmalde.Staff were friendly , and it was nice to overlook the marina whilst muching into hot toast. There was a choice of brown and white and the bread wasn't just from a bulk standard sliced loaf. At well under a £10 for 2 with both have ing a hot drink we had no complaints.No need to book here for breakfast and it was pretty empty when we were there - before 9.30

The cafe manager/supervisor needs to be sacked. Tables are not cleared while staff appear to be oblivious to work that needs doing. Orders go missing. You wouldn't run your own business like this. However I feel that this place benefits from public money/grants which translates to shoddy, don't care less service. Sad really when this place is in such a great location. Public subsidy means that this will not go out of business. Bechod!

Visited the cafe on Christmas Eve with my two young children for some food. Nice setting, brilliant customer service and couldn't fault the food or the price I paid. Staff brought over some paper and crayons for my children. Can not understand why negative reviews are left - maybe some people expect too much for their money? Will definitely be visiting again and would recommend.

Should’ve read the reviews first - potentially the worst staffed cafe I’ve ever been in. Service nothing short of appalling and my food wasn’t much better. Arrived to a filthy table despite only 2 other tables occupied - staff standing talking behind counter - clearly unaware that there was work to do so I had to ask to have it cleaned . Counter staff do not appear trained in either service nor hygiene - one girl building her ponytail , another picking his face and running hands through hair - disgusting. Order wrong three times for our food and glass i was given for my drink was filthy. My food was inedible but in fairness to the excellent manageress from upstairs, it was refunded. It needs a total rethink in terms of staff training in both service and hygiene . Cinema was brilliant - an altogether different experience. Such a nice venue but the cafe is the obvious stand out failure .

I have had the beef lasagne here on three different visits spread over many months, and all have been tasty and left me feeling full up and refreshed. The Galeri itself has a small cinema, and shows many live events as well, yet is always a good place to come for coffee, whether you have walked around the castle and Doc Fictoria or not. Particularly handy for those staying at the Travelodge or Premier Inn

Just been to the Galeri (I regularly visit here on a weekly basis) for what was suppose to be a quick lunch, when I walked in only 2 tables had customers seated in them the rest were empty of customers but all the rest had plates or cups on them!!!! First appearance and thought was what is going on??? Decided there and then to skip lunch and have a latte instead. BIG mistake, should have gone elsewhere. Waited for 10 minutes to be served, then I was served by I think the caffe manager she was in her own clothes not uniforms like the others. Asked for 2 lattes 1 normal 1 weak. Paid and waited for a table no as this is the norm but without even a thank you she walked away without giving me a table no or a receipt!!!! 35 minutes later and watching 2 other tables who arrived after us receiving their orders I went to ask the poor boy who was doing his best in serving, making the drinks and taking the orders to the customers, as to our order? It had vanished!!!! He quickly made them as asked fair play to him. But had no spoons or sugar, so off I went again and they had no teaspoons, another member of staff kindly went in to the kitchen to get me one. All this going on and tables still not cleared after an hour!!! I watched as the manager disappeared and 4 members off staff go out for a smoke!!!! As with another reviewer the staff are young and don't look for work to do. They need old school staff who see what needs doing that tables need to be cleared strait away and as a manager the buck stops there. She is there to manage her staff and she should have made sure the tables were all cleared before disappearing with my order and letting her staff bare the brunt of frustrated customers I saw 4 go to the counter to ask about their orders. Unacceptable

The food is so inconsistent here. It doesn’t matter which day or what time, you’ll never have the same meal delivered twice. For example, if you order a salad, sometimes it comes out fresh and vibrant with a mixture of different toppings and bread on the side. You’ll go back the next week and it’s a limp salad, no toppings or bread. It’s a hit or miss. Recently had a vegetable lasagna here and it was small and dry, as though it had been heated from frozen. Salad was limp and tasteless with cheap shop bought coleslaw. The service is very consistent though - terrible. It’s full of young, inexperienced staff that stand around cluelessly. There needs to be experienced staff that can train the younger ones. It’s got so much to offer with it’s location, but it never delivers. Even simple teas and coffees arrive the table with the wrong order or a lukewarm latte. Drinks from the bar arrive warm or a half pint instead of a pint. Tables need to be cleared and cleaned and there needs to be an input with customer service. Come on Galeri- you can only ride the location wave for so long......you need to put some effort in.

Had hair in my food, would not recommend here, staff are rude and i find this totally unacceptable. Will not be coming here again..

Came here for a panad with family and been a few times over the years. Lovely setting on the doc but my goodness the service is so slow....from getting served to actually getting our coffee. And when the drinks do artive, they are luke warm, not hot.It is a shame, and really dont understand why, as on all occasions it hasn't been that busy. They could do with possibly more staff if the ones that are there are strugling. It wont deter me visiting again, but just a small detail that can be rectified easily

I visit Y Galeri often, and I have tried various things on their menu. Today I had what was one of the tastiest lasagne's I have ever had! And I am difficult to please, but I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch today. I have also recently enjoyed a home made soup from the Café and it was extremely tasty!There are some lovely friendly staff too, who are polite and helpful. Will be back very soon!

Had a vegetarian breakfast, cooked beautifully and ingredients were top quality. Friendly staff, very accommodating to dietary needs, shame there’s not more restaurants out there like this, will be back for more scrumptious food :-))

I visit the Galeri cafe Bar often for a meal or just a panad and catch up with friends. Never disappointed. Love their sandwiches, fresh bread and plenty of salad to go with it. Always go for a bowl of home cooked chips which are delicious. Priced reasonably too. Nice to sit in the bar or by the window looking out on to the marina and when it is a warm sunny day sitting outside is a bonus. Keep up the good work.

Lovely restaurant, you order in the counter and waitress bring the food in the table. Got lovely view of the harbour. The chicken with spinach and mushroom sauce is delicious. Clean restaurant and noticed the 5 star rating outside. Well recommend. Got vegan option too.

I have no idea why people are saying the service is poor, every time I came here it was good and the people who served me were friendly. Food came in good time and was tasty and freshly prepared. The lasagne I had was kept warm in an oven and was very pleasant.

We were visiting the Victoria Dock and decided to have a glass of white wine and watch the world go by.

Stayed in the Premier Inn and visited the Galeri for breakfast. I have to say it was one of the nicest cooked veggie breakfast I've had in a long time. The quality of the food was good and importantly, it was all piping hot! A few requested omissions were forgotten but could be forgiven. I felt like the tables and carpets could have been a little cleaner but overall I would definitely return when in Caernarfon again.

Visited for lunch at around 1315 on a weekday and quickly ordered, but no sign of any food by 1350 so we joined the queue of folk in a similar position getting refunds. We had only ordered a sausage sandwich and club sandwich as knew we had a hospital appointment to attend so wanted relatively quick food. It appeared that some tables ordering full plates of hot food were served well before several of the other tables, despite arriving and ordering after them. Galeri must have lost a lot of business and money on that service.

I can only agree with other reviewers - service was mediocre. We'd booked a table, but when we arrived for a pre-performance meal a young man hurriedly wiped a table and waved his hand towards the menus on the bar, but made no effort otherwise. Waited half an hour for the food,(despite the fact that there were only a few others eating) and when it came part of the order was wrong but had no time to ask for it to be corrected. One meal came five minutes after the others.Menu was not inspirational,which is a shame when there is so much great local produce. They could do so much better.

we waited an hour for food it was ok a little over priced chips were hard peas were cold my mum had a ploughmans and the apple was brown i complained to staff and they didnt want to know i was very disappointed as i have been many times and enjoyed my food each time

This used to be our favourite eating place in Caernarfon, well worth the drive from Porthmadog. On holiday in Harlech this week, we made a special trip on Saturday afternoon for a late lunch - around 3.30. There were no empty tables in the foyer area, apart from a few counters with bar stools, but the restaurant was empty. We soon found out why - every single table had a reserved sign on it. We managed to find a sticky table in the foyer area and set about finding chairs. We eventually did and despite reservations sat to look at the menu. There were at least 6 youngsters behind the bar, some chatting, most standing around looking dazed or pretending to be busy. My husband went to the bar and tried to order, but was completely ignored. A Welsh gentleman who came in was served immediately, with a chat and a smile. All the staff then disappeared, leaving my husband standing there. After a good 10 minutes, some of them drifted back but still ignored him. He eventually spotted two staff in the restaurant area, who grudgingly took our order - one soup and sandwich, one mackerel salad, a pint and a half of San Miguel. Staff continued to drift about behind the bar, occasionally all disappearing entirely. After another 10 minutes, a waitress came over and announced that there was no soup. No apology, just a bored take it or leave it expression. Husband reordered a chilli. Twenty minutes later, no drinks, no food, we are on the verge of leaving. My mackerel salad arrived. Now in the past this has come with a really nice salad of interesting lettuce, slices of pepper, slices of raw onion (a perfect foil for the greasy mackerel), tomatoes, flavourful dressing, a full pot of coleslaw two thick slices of sourdough bread and butter. This time, lots of lettuce, 4 cherry tomato halves, a few finely chopped pepper cubes, and 6 thick slices of cucumber, a half pot of coleslaw and no bread at all. My husband's chilli was ok but contained chick peas? And it was tiny. Note, still no drinks and no other staff in the entire area - again they had just melted away. We complained to the waitressitress and she did bring our drinks. All in all, a fairly miserable experience, though I did notice that anyone who appeared local or spoke Welsh had immediate, excellent service. Oh, and all the tables which were reserved remained empty - we left around 5pm. So sad - this place used to be so good.

Galeri at Caernarfon is a great venue, but the food at their Cafe Bar was disappointing.

In the area, staying with friends, we came to Caernarfon for the day. The girls went shopping, while we men wandered round the harbour, etc., arranging to meet at the Galeri for lunch.

What a find! This is a wonderful space with great food and a lovely atmosphere for families. We have visited a few times at different times of the day and had breakfast dinner and bowls of chips with drinks on different occasions. There’s always something interesting to look at and our little boy is fascinated by the interesting exhibitions. Food is excellent and the chips are amazing! We ordered s bowl between us as a snack (5 of us) and ended up ordering several more! A modern, interesting place with excellent door and friendly service.

We came here prior to seeing the Blazin' Fiddles at the beginning of the month and were glad we had booked a table as it was busy.

The best thing to come to Caernarfon for decades. 2 comfortable screensand excellent reasonably priced tickets for latest films. A class well done.

Went to watch a show, so had a few drinks at the bar afterwards, they had run out of Gin, so ordered another drink with lemonade, guess what, no lemonade! so ordered a glass of white wine, which was warm. The bar seems to be run by kids, with no one in charge. There are two supermarkets next door, does no one have the sense to run out and buy a bottle of Gin! This was a busy night, really popular show, so should be able to cater for the post show drinks! This is not the first time that this has happened, next time, will be going elsewhere for a drink.

had our xmas party here,food 2/10 staff 4/10,i wasnt allowed to order from the normal menu even though there were people there eating food from the menu,very disappointed

I was staying close to galeri on a solo break. Felt comfortable eating alone here, early evening. I ate there twice, 2nd time on a Friday limited menu, because of Pizza Friday. Ham was very salty and burger ok, but not fab!

Slightly pricey but worth every penny. Possibly the best breakfast ever; excellent quality and cooked to perfection. Kippers with perfectly poached eggs were superb and the full English tremendous with an excellent black pudding.

Me and my friend visited here this morning for a catch up over breakfast.For £7.95 we both opted for The Welsh Breakfast with a cup of tea.Breakfast was wonderfully presented and was of a very high standard.The eating area is very spacious and modern with magnificent views of the harbour area to where it is situated.The staff were pleasant and the freshly cooked food arrived rather swiftly.

This place has a few vegan & gluten free options. I highly recommend the vegan chickpea & sweet potato curry! It's made with high quality ingredients. They have soy milk available, however, unfortunately the hot chocolate said it may contain milk. Staff were pleasant. Would like to return one day.

A lovely breakfast and lunch with great service in a modern venue and beautiful location. The handling of food allergies / vegan / gluten free requirements is testament to the team.

Decent standard grub at a great location. Inside is good but outside has al fresco with a view of the yachts/harbour. Burgers, fish n chips, salads and sarnies - all quite well done. Steak and egg sarnie was the hero of the day - excellent quality and value. Kids food also. Joins onto the cinema foyer - you can prebuy your tickets online for the cinema and collect them at the reception by the restaurant. The bar and waiting staff were excellent.

Visiting Caernarfon on a hot weekend, we stopped here for a cool drink. We sat outside, overlooking the marina and watched the world go by. A pleasant place with a nice atmosphere.

Ended up here on a very busy Saturday night in Caernarfon, when all the decent restaurants were fully booked.

Hubby and I popped in twice for breakfast, as we enjoyed the food and available options so much. You order at the counter, which took us a few minutes to figure out the first time! They don’t seem to always have everything fully stocked, which can be disappointing, but the food is tasty enough to forgive them for that.

Great place and site. Ordering system little disjointed 15 minute wait for a coffee & drink at quite time of day only to find order not passed on to coffee maker! Tables outside could be cleaner. Waiter friendly & apologetic about wait unlike young lady inside who grudgingly responded to our querie.

This place is quite far away from the Main Street where there seemed to be numerous cafes etc. I have no doubt that most would have been cheaper as Valerie was very expensive. My sausage bap was nice but very overpriced for what it was. Service was slow despite there being hardly anyone there eating. It was clean and comfortable with good wi fi but certainly avoid this place if you are on a tight budget.

It would appear that the Galeri is undergoing a major rebuild. The car park is out of action but there are other car parks nearby which are free to blue badge holders.

Went to the Galeri to eat at lunchtime. Found an interesting menu for a light meal. One of us had smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and a latte, the other had smoked mackerel and salad again with a latte. Each cost less than £11- the food was freshly prepared, well presented - the latte was a miracle of separation. The place was busy but the service was quick and friendly. Great find at lunchtime.

On a recent chilly Wednesday, Hubby and I were walking around the Marina when we decided we were in need of a warm and a sit down so we decided to pop in here. We had one small pot of tea between us which cost £3.30 which we thought was a tad over-priced. They do accept contactless card payments. We sat down at a table by the window so we had a pleasant view. The food menu looked OK but again slightly over-priced. The groundfloor toilets were clean and tidy.

We called in for a pot of tea for two and for £2.50 were had a large teapot which gave us four cups. The following day we called in for a morning coffee and that was very good also. Later, we called in for a light lunch. ;I had soup and a sandwich, (meal deal) and a very tasty soup was followed by a large Chicken sandwich, served with salad. Very good value for money and the staff are very helpful, especially if you wish to get to know some local information. Great views of the harbour, the yachts, sea and Anglesey. Great place to call in after a walk.

My wife and I recently had a very enjoyable lunch at the Galeri, it was very busy but all the staff there were most efficient and very friendly. The food was of a good quality with a selection of local beers also available. Unlike the Black Boy we can thoroughly recommend the Galeri, good view of the marina too.

When arriving we was greeted with a warm welcome and sat at a table with a view as good as any you will see. After a walk around the castle we wanted a bite to eat which turned in to a foodie delight! My husband loves fish and was exited to see a specials full of local produce. He went for mackerel salad and I went for crab mayonnaise all exceeded our expectations! mackerel covered in a beetroot powder just amazing looked stunning and my crab perfectly seasoned. It was the best seafood meal we have tasted since rick steins restaurant in Padstow. We was sat on table 6 best table in my opinion we could see the harbour and we could here the kitchen and see when the door opened with food coming out. the chef who just looked in the zone is a star in the making.

In a great location overlooking the harbour. Ok for drinks but I wouldn't order food. 55 minute wait for soup, toasted sandwiches and chips, sad to say food wasn't that great either when it arrived. Its shame when something is found floating in your drink, first reaction of staff is to blame someone else before apologising. There are so many other cafes to try before going back to this.

Another lovely weekend in my favourite place - Caernarfon . Visited Galeri cafe and bar for a quick bite at lunchtime and was served the best BLT I've had in ages. The girls working there were friendly and informative. The sandwich was served with a fresh side salad, crisps and homemade coleslaw. Absolutely delicious!

This modern café bar is located within the contemporary entertainments complex situated at Victoria Quay but has always appeared closed / very quiet. We dropped in initially for a Tea / Coffee after a days walking and enjoyed one of their delicious welsh cakes whilst sat looking out over the quay & Menai straights. Lovely and all good so far.

The location is great and plenty of outside seating overlooking the marina if the weather permits. Ideal for a drink or a meal and the theatre itself is great and an asset to the town. Pay a visit whilst passing or visiting the theatre and enjoy.

Went to this cafe yesterday as had previously been in July and been impressed with the speed of service, food and location. This time I was thoroughly disappointed and will not visit again. The place was not particularly busy, however after ordering I had to then go back to remind them to bring me my drink. I waited over 30 minutes and with still no sign of my food and no apologies I asked for a refund and left- this ruined what was meant to be a quick work lunch. I hope the staff can sort themselves out, other customers appeared to be having the same issues.

Came here today with 6 other work colleagues. Firstly a bottle of Coke was given to me without an offer of a glass which I thought was poor service. We all ordered paninis and a few portions of chips. Despite reassurances our food would be a few minutes whenever we asked where it was, we waited until 40 minutes had passed, gave up and asked for a refund. The place wasn't busy, no warning was given that a few paninis would take so long and worse of all no apology was offered by any staff at any point. Another couple were also complaining as they had waited over 30 minutes for 2 coffees. The place seemed to be run by a load of college kids who looked a bit lost and could really do with going on a basic customer service course. I even had to correct the refund given as basic maths obviously wasn't his strong point, and he was apparently the acting manager! Such a shame as this could be a great place.

Tried to get a meal prior to a film - despite asking at 6.10 told they could not serve us in time - film started at 7.30 - it's not like they didn't know there was going to be a film.... afterwards went for a drink in the bar and asked for mineral water - presented with a bottle and no glass - staff chasing their tails and all looked like they wanted to be somewhere else. Six of us in total and all well unimpressed seems like they don't want to make money. Enjoyed the film though....

We came here to eat the sharing vegetarian platter as parents wanted to try it. A very large amount of cheese and dressing but not enough bread or oat biscuits. Not much other choice if you didn't want them. No hot choice meal for a child. A very large bowl of soup arrive which was meant to be leek and potato but not sure what it was. I ordered egg sandwich but it came egg arrived spring onion. But as the kitchen had closed there wasn't uh could be done. We have to ask a jumber of times for cutlery and the sauce never arrived which we asked for.

We called on our way back from Caernarfon for coffee and cake and it was just what the doctor ordered. Flapjack and americano for my wife. Chocolate vanilla sponge and tea for me and my mum. Great venue, atmosphere and location.

I have enjoyed lunch here over many years and am never disapointed. Last week was no different. Fabulous food , very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. They even cooked my Dads chips just the way he likes them and provided a container to take home some of the food we just couldn't finish.

Very rarely open, food hit and miss. We are in marina and when all other places around here are busy with locals and visitors alike they are closing up! 9 pm and just put all outside tables away. Hardly ant signage to say they do food and drinks from outside so most people walk past, been empty most of today and it had been a glorious day. Same most weekends. Really need to sort out some advertising to warrant money spent on new decking area. This place could be fabulous with the marina on the doorstep. Shame really. They do have some good events on here but it could be so much more!

Came across this place when walking around Victoria Doc. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside with a view of the moored boats and the menai straight, right across to Anglessey. We only had drinks but the latte and hot chocolate were delicious.

On walking past Galeri on Victoria dock, Caernarfon my wife and I decided to stop and have a light lunch. We found the ambience in the food area very good, staff very friendly and they guy who tended our needs "Alun" very efficient and happy with his work. Food "spot on" Will call again as we are in Caernarfon often. Thank you Galeri.

Booked a table for a birthday meal for my mum 70+. We were seated in the bar area, but we expressed our dislike. The very accommodating waitress moved us to the food area, even though it was fully booked. The food was absolutely delicious, we ordered 3 paninis, soup and Sandwich and 2 platters. Will definitely recommend and visit again. I'm just sorry I can't remember the waitress name as she could not do enough.

Returned to the Galeri after the cafe has been run by the staff from Bar Brechdanau Doc (which was very good). They took over about six weeks ago and yet still using a temporary menu. Whereas the Doc was friendly, cosy and unique with atmospher the Galeri is a standard table and chairs good cafe. Food was good enough but limited choice and staff were much friendlier than they have been before here. But I still hoped for more. As a frequent visitor to the area I was very excited when the galeri opened and while it may be a good community facility it offers little to the significant number of tourists who still come to the area. The cafe raises the same issues. I will return more in hope I think to see whether any personality is brought to the place.

We had a delicious bowl of homemade split lentil and sweet potato soup at lunch time. The waiters were efficient and the whole place was modern and bright.
