We all thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant! Great service and delicious food. Highly recommend to anyone thinking about visiting.

The food is really bland, and not cheap either. The staff was polite but there was no atmosphere either. I wouldn't recommend it and definitely I won't be back.

Not great definitely overcharged us as well … food was below average not the same as it was before. Atmosphere is dark too … Very disappointing. Thai place next door giggling squid is definitely better.

Had an lovely lunch at Thai rice club with my toddler and dad. The staff were friendly, the portions were big and the food was very tasty - good value for money. They even provided some baby cutlery for my daughter which was an appreciated touch. Will definitely come back to dine again.

We popped into Thai rice club for a late lunch/ early dinner today whilst passing through Maidstone, and what a great find! The service was wonderful (very friendly and attentive!) and we were seated and served very quickly. We ordered starters and mains each and my goodness; the food was so flavourful. I had the pad Thai, and honestly haven’t tasted a Pad Thai like this since I lived in Bangkok :D For my starter I went with fried chicken wings, and the portion size was fantastic. Great quality and great value. My partner went with the spring rolls and veggie green curry - again, the flavours were authentic and you can tell these guys are making proper Thai food. We hadn’t intended to have desert but are very glad we did; I went with the Thai pancakes (YUM!) and my partner with the deep fried banana (also YUM!) Overall we paid around £39 each for an amazing meal. The wonderful, friendly staff made it even better so thank you to all at the restaurant - we will be back.

Unfortunately, it took a very long time to get any food. It was 55 mins after our arrival before we got our starters. Our drinks were also empty for a long time and we struggled to get anyone's attention. They brought a drinks menu over and then didn't return for our order. There was a nice cocktail menu, but we were told they weren't doing cocktails today. I opted for red wine, which was probably the worst I've ever had (and I'm not into fancy wine!). My husbands Asahi had bits in, so he elected to switch to bottled beer for his second drink. We also waited 20 mins to get the bill and pay, as did two other tables near us. The waitresses were friendly, and did apologise, but we spent a lot of time trying to get their attention and the restaurant wasn't even near full. The food itself was delicious, but sadly the other issues mean we won't return.

Most dishes, were good, perhaps a bit more sauce on sweet 'n 'sour dishes, & dishes should not be cleared until all have finished, as they should not reach through to take plates whilst people are eating. Otherwise all was good.

I absolutely recommend this place! Food is amazing! Service is amazing! A bit expensive but good experience!

We came without the booking and got a big table with round sofa near the window. Which was very nice as we were just 2 of us and there were smaller tables available. Our bill was £82: starter, 2 ciders, 1 Jinro bottle, 2 mains. Service was very fast, from taking the order to serving us our food.

I went with my family and really enjoyed the food. It's not cheap but the food is excellent. We will definitely go again.

I’ve been to South East Asia , and Thailand multiple times travelling, experienced lots of food around there. I can say Thai Rice Club is the most authentic Thai Resturant I’ve had in the UK. A dim lit bar style Resturant , resembling sort of a Creams style ice cream dessert Resturant, this Thai restaurants presentation aesthetically wouldn’t be something you expect to see from a Thai Resturant. Service was decent, polite staff, with warm hospitality. The food menu had a great deal of selections to choose from, a mixture of Thai favourites, good selection of drinks, alcoholic drinks were rather pricy but what do you expect for city centre and also in Kent. Ordered a mixture of Thai starters, classics : chicken satay, chili squid, papaya salad and pancake roll - all cooked well, satay chicken cook be thicker and not faltened chicken. Papaya salad could have been spicier but was perfection, flavourful , sweet, sour and spicy , perfect. Main : Thai green curry, pad Thai and spicy stir fry noodles and morning glory, all cooked very well, authentic , flavourful, tasty , had all the flavours that you would expect. Definitely would go again.

I found very poor food from start to finish, Starters straight out of Iceland, main course was watery quite bland would not recommend this place. The chicken satay starter is like man made cardboard. I eat out quite often a lot of Thai and this was probably the worst I’ve ever had and for 4 of us £165 with 3 x beers

The food was delicious and the service was great. Very quiet when we went so difficult to assess the atmosphere but we loved it that way.

Everything was bland, from the green curry to the chicken satay, missing two cans of coke from order, which the restaurant refused to fix. Lady on the phone a bit clueless. Wouldn’t recommend.

Went on Saturday afternoon. Mixed starter tasted like it was from Iceland. Found an eyelash in my main and the waitress came across like she hated her job no eye contact no smiles. Wouldn’t go back was quite expensive Wagamama is much better

We walked past not knowing this restaurant was here as we are not from the area. We weren’t going out for food but thought we would try it 🤩 wow I’m glad we did! It’s was amazing and the staff were absolutely lovely! We will definitely be going back.

Very poor food at expensive prices. Tempura was under seasoned, undercooked and stodgy. Special prawn dish at £16.95 was made up of 4 prawns and half a pepper, swimming in a sea of coconut milk. Noodle dish was tasteless and the chicken totally overcooked and chewy. I can't believe we just spent £50 such a bad takeaway. I can honestly say that we haven't had such a bad meal at such a high price from any local takeaway. Disappointed.

Just ate there, the food was amazing, the service was excellent, the location perfect. I had the shared starter, "S01 Ped Ma Kham" Duck in tamarind sauce, and Thai Pancakes; all of it was gourgous, the portion sizes were lovely. I'm running out of positive synonyms. I'm definetly going back there.

One of the best Thai restaurants In England. As a Thai person myself is not easy finding one over here that feels like you just sit back home. Many traditional dishes to choose as well! Plus great service!

The woman who serves is a let down . Very bad customer service . Didn’t ask if my food was okay because I was on my phone ? I didn’t like the food and got dealt with in the wrong manner . I was happy to pay some or change for other food but tried saying I didn’t want to pay £20 ? If I could rate 0 stars I would .

Food wasn’t worth the money. Just average and everything greasy

Be prepared for a long wait. Waited over an hour for the starter, chased it twice, was told they were very busy with Just Eat take away which takes priority over the resturant. Cancelled starter, staff were nice, food was average, get a cab as beer is cheaper than Coke. Charged £13.70 for a pint of Coke.

Disappointed with the crispy squid, over cooked and tough as were the giant river prawns. Pad thai was average.

I introduced my date to chicken penang! He probably won't ever have another green curry now. We had the mixed started platter (sadly they don't do sweetcorn cakes, but then they're not very authentic). My favourite was the satay sauce and the prawn toast...excellent, lots of topping and no grease! I had a really tasty stir-fry. Service was lovely and they very much appreciated my attempts to say please and thank you in Thai

Well it was my first time I just spotted this place just happened to be my birthday and wanted to find somewhere to eat and this was it Fantastic food I will be going back next week

I did request for spicy and it turn up not spicy and the potion wasn’t match enough with this price.

Do not order from this place. Will give you a scarce amount of food as i assume they can get away with ripping people off through delivery services. after spending £14.39 i recieved around 6 very small pieces of chicken which were extremely rubbery, as were the vegetables surrounding it. Paired with half a handful of sticky rice served in a plastic bag. Flavour was nice but that's due to the sauce; not because of any quality cooking.

Best Thai food I have tasted in Maidstone, I tried them all. This is by far the best in terms of value, portion sizes and taste.

Oh dear 😕 1. Tom Kha soup was very average, a marked deterioration as compared to the previous Thai restaurant that was at this location (Gaab Kao) 2. Stick Rice was an inedible block, which they immediately changed for plain rice 3. Dipping sauce had a leftover of previous customer's fish cake in it!!! 🤮 Waitress argued that it is impossible and they can check cctv whether my mother-in-law has dropped it. For the sake of £7 did they really think that we would make it up? Gross, although they deducted the fish cakes from the bill This was the second time we visited. The first time we visited the menu was filthy but the food was much better then with more authentic ingredients. The fish cakes were actually quite good, but the half-eaten piece of fish cake hidden in the dipping sauce totally put us off. Interestingly, their food hygiene score is down from 5 to 4 (compared to previous restaurant) Sadly this establishment seems to be going in the wrong direction

I’m always open to trying new restaurants but what disappoints me most, is when the pictures don’t reflect the food that you ordered. Moreover, specifically the chicken dish had negligible amount of chicken and the chicken that was there, was chewy like a rubber band. I don’t know if it was just because it was a takeout but the quality is extremely lacking and for the price paid I was expecting more. Another disappointing average Thai restaurant.

I've not been to a Thai restaurant for a while and quite pleased when we got a table at short notice.The service was very good and menu not too extensive, but there was no mussaman curry (arghh), but the food we ordered was very good and I was really full when finished. Will defy go back.

Absolutely delicious food one of the best restaurants in maidstone. Food so fresh and delicious i highly recommend the chicken satay and the chef special duck tamarind. Such an enjoyable experience, cocktails were delicious too.

A party of 11 attended for lunch. Nobody else was in the restaurant, yet meals came out sporadically and elements were forgotten for several people.

Always a fantastic meal here, my favourite restaurant these days. Well worth a visit!

Vegans are welcome. I am always nervous saying I'm vegan but the staff were not phased at all. They explained all my options and they were plenty! The curries are not vegan which is a let down but I had stir fry cashew and coconut rice which was delicious. I will be back!

This place is the one I like best. I eat in a lot of restaurants but to this one I constantly return again and again. The crew is very welcoming and the cuisine they cook is so tasty. I never miss an opportunity to have a decent dinner in this restaurant. Highly recommended.

I admire this spot! They offer sensational meals, they have a nice menu, The chief cook in that restaurant is well trained, I like very much trying all their dishes. The food is consistently fresh, the attitude towards the clients is very good too. I visit often this restaurant and I was never discontended. I recommend it to all my friends.

Haven't eaten out in Maidstone in a while since moving elsewhere in Kent, so was excited to see this pop up on TripAdvisor when looking for somewhere to eat on Saturday. We didn't book but got seated upstairs, and only having opened 18 months ago we found it very clean and well decorated. Thai food is one of my favourites, and I wasn't disappointed. Both the starters and mains were very enjoyable, and I'd go back again. I don't know if they do dessert; we waited to be asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu after they cleared our plates away, but weren't asked so we instead asked for the bill, paid and left. Saved a bit of money I suppose!

Went on Saturday evening at 7pm with a group of 4 people without reservations, the restaurant was really busy and we have to wait for our table in the bar for about 5 mins, it’s worth to wait and food taste fantastic I highly recommend and must book a table for my next round

Have had lunch many times at Gaab Kao and loved it. Decided to bring some friends for dinner on Saturday evening. Very busy and lovely atmosphere however could do with more staff. We were seated and orders taken, starter served but no cutlery or serviettes. I had to leave my seat and go to the front to ask for them. The food was all lovely but although the staff were great and working very hard, felt we were kept waiting so long for each course and the table wasn't cleared of the drinks bottles and plates for ages. Our second round of drinks, mine was forgotten and my husband had to leave his seat and go to the front to ask the waitress for it as we were unable to get the attention of the waiter near us as he was rushed off his feet. I feel like the service was poor but only due to lack of staff. 10% discretionary service charge was added to the bill but we felt this didn't reflect at all the service we received.We would not rush back.

Food was fantastic - REALLY tasty. Service was really friendly but slow, somehow though it did not matter as the staff were duly apologetic. It made for a lovely, relaxed dinner, but it would have been annoying if you were in a hurry! Definitely now one of our top 3 in town and we will back.

We have eaten in the restaurant several times and loved it, so decided to get z takeaway delivered. We ordered Pad Med Ma-muang (Medium Spicy)Chicken, Chicken Satay, Neur Tord and coconut rice. Sadly, the Neur Tord (beef) was tough and the Pad Med Ma-muang was not up to what we had in the restaurant. I will visit the restaurant again, but won't be ordering a takeaway from there again.
