Full house chinese takeaway in Monmouthshire

We ordered a large selection of chinese takeaway. Everything was cooked to order within 15 minutes. Service was friendly and efficient. We took the food home and found it absolutely delicious! Highly recommended.

Needed a snack after a late afternoon out. Ordered two tray meals and they came in big boxes. Very generous portions and very tasty. No complaints here.

Excellent, the best Chinese takeaway in the area. Prompt and polite service, a kaleidoscope of rich and varied tastes, good value. A1+

First impressions...the lady behind the counter was extremely rude. House special fried rice, very bland and mostly filled with bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and raw mushrooms. Included 2 pieces if pork, 2 pieces of chicken and 2 prawns

Very good service and always on time. Generous sizes portions with both meat and vegetables, at a good price. I had to drop 1 star as on 2 different occasions the King Prawns with chili and spices had way too much monosodium glutamate and Salt, so much so we couldn't eat it.

We are here whilst on holiday and all got a takeaway, food was ok but not the best. Noodles were very soggy and soaked in some sauce. Lots of prawn crackers given which was good. Crispy chilli beef was quite chewy and very salty. We also ordered crispy duck which was well over shredded and cooked and more like dust.

Great take away definitely recommended. Good portion size and great quick service and resonable pricing.

Thought we would try this Chinese again! As the first time we did, over a year ago we had been put off when we found a hair wrapped in our pancake roll 🤢 we have gone to Canton house since and found it ok. But as time has gone by we tried it again last night thinking maybe we had been unlucky and to give it another go! Well... the food was horrid! Ordered our usual and the crispy beef was as tough as old leather and tasted very old! Very dry and no sauce... chicken chow mein was extremely poor bland and again dry! Hardly any chicken! Egg fried rice wasn’t the best either yet again dry and unpalatable. Won’t be going back as these simple dishes should be easy to get right.

Consistently good chinese food, nicely cooked,generous portions reasonably priced with good timely service. Been having takeaways from here every week for several years - it hurts when they go back to China for Chinese New Year! There's never an excess of sugar and salt in the sauces which are just right and not claggy and hyperpalatably overflavoured like you get sometimes with some chinese takeaways. I've tried a lot of the menu and never had a dish I didn't like. My only suggestion is I wish they would do a mixed seafood (squid, prawn, mussels or clams) speciality

The food we had was beautifully cooked and not over-seasoned or too oily or cloyingly sweet. Prices were reasonable.

Amazing value, large portions, tasty food, oh my, so good. Just go and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

We have just had a very yummy meal from the Full House. The portions are of a good size. (We always share one rice, between two). The food is always cooked freshly for each customer and is hot, when collected. Well worth a try. Not expensive. I love the Cantonese sweet and sour king prawns.

We have been getting our weekly takeaway from here for a few months and have tried lots from the menu and have no fault, sweet and sour chicken balls are the best, mushroom chow mein is lovely - not swimming in fat like some, large portions so I share a meal with my son. Recommended to ant Chinese food lover.

I like it. A lot! Crispy duck comes pre-shredded, which is unusual, but convenient. Salt & pepper squid, yum yum Crispy chicken in Kung Po sauce has no hint of re-formed nugget material, real chicken, unlike increasing number of take-aways. Not everywhere does chicken, yellow bean sauce & cashew nuts, my favourite! Singapore noodles, Yeung Chow fried rice.... LARGE portions, probably one of the reasons my kids call me "chubbo". Dammit - they are closed til 20th October......date is on my calendar, looking forward to it.

Having read mixed reviews, I was a little dubious ordering a take away, but I was pleasantly surprised. The telephone order was taken promptly and efficiently and fifteen minutes later I collected a very nice piping hot takeaway . I will certainly be calling here again.

Tried them all and this is our favourite. Good food. Lots of nice meat and veggies in the dishes and quorn options for my wife. Good stuff!

Just collected a large order for 14 people, all freshly cooked and all correct, spot on well done guys for coming up to the challenge.

Ordered a takeaway last night- lovely food but ordered a mixed meat chow mein and received a vegetable chow mein- bit disappointing considering the price difference of a vegetable chow mein and meat!

Great for a Friday night take away takes credit cards food is good and value for money...Happy welcoming staff

Our first takeaway from full house capital ribs were tough as old boots chicken chow mein had very little chicken in it Kung po crispy chicken was hard and soggy not crispy no taste fried was ok but what more can I say most of it went in the bin AVOID!!

Tengo que decir que siempre es un placer para conseguir un bonito para llevar a compartir con mi padre, mi hermana y la familia de la casa en la cima de la ciudad. En todo ese tiempo, posiblemente con distintos dueños, nunca he tenido una mala comida. Quizás su peor error fue olvidar una porción de dulce y agria pollo una vez, que estaban contentos de añadir a nuestro próximo pedido. Si gira a tiempo, o pedir mientras espera, me sorprendería si eran realmente decepcionado. Si tuviera una mala comida, habría sido reacio a volver y diría así.

Esta noche he estado bien y verdaderamente decepcionante y indignado. Siempre hemos respaldado la casa completa, sin embargo, llevar esta noche, hemos estado equivocado. El plato de cerdo sabía ido. Y todos sabemos el sabor. . Como ha sido por demasiado tiempo? ! Este es mi plato favorito, castañas de agua y brotes de bambú, etc. Llamé sólo para decir que creo que es pasado y no me importa si a otro? El hombre dijo que lo trae de vuelta y te cocinan frescas. . Mi novio volvía, esperando para recoger otro plato sin ningún problema, pero me dio un servidor enojado, y dos de los chefs que insistió en que él olía la comida y no había nada malo con él y le dije que me dijera que no a la orden de nuevo. No pide disculpas, servicio asqueroso. Bien alimentados y revienta..

Hemos comido aquí varias veces y no mejorar. Una comida (la cena más cara por cuatro) tenía que ser devuelto ya que era apto para el consumo humano. La carne no habían dejado la noche en la nevera y se discutía. Un reembolso completo, pero no disculpas por haber arruinado cuatro pueblos sábado por la noche. Si te gusta una barbaridad de zanahorias y cebollas saltear la carne.

Always friendly, good service and fantastic takeaway.... living over 10 miles away it's worth the drive especially for the sweet and sour chicken balls....

Thought I would try a takeaway from here as the menu was huge! Had won ton soup, average, prawns with chilli very oily and luke warm, chicken curry absolutely disgusting it tasted sweet, and special fried rice which was horrible. I can honestly say this was the worst Chinese I have eaten. I will never be back, I would also advise everyone else to not go near this place the food is bland taste less and the chicken tough and fatty! Hardly any of it was eaten........ disgusting!!!!

I'm 54 years old and in my lifetime I can honestly say that this place is worst Chinese takeaway i have ever had the misfortune to visit warmed up chips tasteless food the best part of the meal was the sweet and sour sauce absolutely disgusting

Visited the take away after arriving at a nearby holiday cottage for a week. I've never tasted anything so bland and tasteless. We ordered a chicken curry, special fried rice and duck with pineapple..each dish was flavourless and just full of onions to bulk it up. Threw half of it away. Not nice at all. On a positive note, service was quick and staff pleasant and friendly but I would rather have grumpy staff and nice food.

We gave it a try again last night as we have had 2 previous very bad takeaways, we were really shocked at the horrendous food we receive.The chicken satay had no taste and was like water, everything about it was horrible. Not again !!!! we will use the chinese further down the main street in Monmouth

My first time visiting here for a while, the older gentleman working on the counter was friendly and informative and the food was on time and delicious. Can't go wrong here it seems!

As a family we have been using this Chinese for nearly 10 years however the past 4 or 5 meals we've recieved have been awful. We have complained direct yet still the quality of the meals are shocking. The chips look & taste as though they've been reheated and it's spot the chicken in the chicken curry. A number of times we've been missing dishes or our order has been wrong. Given them enough chances it's time we change!

Have been having chinese take-away from here for years and we are never disappointed; fast courteous telephone service and food is always ready on time. Prices are very reasonable, amounts are plentiful and piping hot. Favourites are Crispy lemon Chicken, Beef or Chicken Chow Mein, sweet and sour sauce, Kung Po Prawn, to mention but a few.Gorgeous, would eat this every night if I lived on my own!!

there are only two Chinese takeaways in the main town centre of Monmouth and for me this is by far the better of the two and they both charge similar prices, but this takeaway has better quality food

The only reason I come here is because of friends or for their chilli squid which is better than Canton Kitchen (the other Chinese). But that's about the extent of it, also they're a bit more expensive and don't give any form of discount for loyalty.

Decent but nothing on the alternatives in town. Usually have my usual Chinese Sweet & Sour, no real taste to it. Tastes like it has been under a heater for a while which wouldn't surprise me as they do have a lot of customers. Compared to the other Chinese takeaway in town this really isn't the best in my personal opinion but others may disagree. The service is fairly decent and staff seem passionate. Seems to get busy so perhaps I've had bad experiences, but this review is out of personal experience.

Food is good and you get large portions, which is great value for money. Service is always good from the very polite and customer centric chap.

We get takeaway from here regularly and the takeaway is always great. Huge menu so plenty to choose from and I have never seen such a large choice of quorn dishes for vegetarians. Definitely worth a try and very reasonable so great if you have friends around and want to save cooking. Flexible too if you want a dish without green peppers or onions.

Having read some good reviews for this takeaway, we thought it was worth a try despite a rather long journey there and back. Sadly the food was AVERAGE to say the least. Cost-wise, just a little on the expensive side when compared to similar establishments in the Coleford/Lydney area.Food-wise: The Singapore noodles were 'wet', anaemic in colour and rather bland. Sweet and sour chicken was similarly bland even with the ultra-thick syrup-like sauce. The chips (OK - chips from a Chinese?) had that 'oil that needs changing' taste. The pork dish (char-sui) did however have a reasonable amount of meat in a flavourful sauce.Atmosphere - It's a takeaway and you will see old copies of the Sun whilst the food is cooked behind the scenes in very quick time. Atmosphere is just like every other takeaway.Overall - AVERAGE at best. Not worth making a special journey as the product is nothing special. If you are passing and want some fairly bland typical takeaway Chinese, give it a try.

Portions are large and good value for money, however for anyone who has tried real Chinese food it is a bit of a disappointment and would only recommend if you are on a night out and don't want a kebab.

Really lovely chinese. Not healthy obviously but well worth the calories once in a while! Consistently good.

When I return to Monmouth I either go to full house or canton....This visit was full house's turn. It was fantastic. Same guy on front desk and the food was even better than the last time. Highly recommend although parking is hit and miss as it's on main street

We live in monmouth. The full house is consistently good, the food is always great and the service speedy.

We were recommended to this Chinese Restaurant by the owner of the hotel we were staying at. It was very good service from here as they were extremely busy and staff were run off there feet with a party going on upstairs but this didn't phase them.We didn't have to wait long for our meal and they were quite big serves.Very clean and efficient restaurant.

Diverse and large Asian menu, with fast service. Courteous proprietor. More than adequate portions of excellent quality.

One of the best Chinese Takeaways we have used. There is a huge array of food on offer including Quorn dishes. We really enjoyed the Fairy Bowl and the beef Chow Mein. The portions are generous and the food was piping hot when I called to pick it up. Throw in the friendly staff and 5 star hygiene rating for good measure. We can't wait for our family to come over so that we can choose a banquet!

Great place. Always leave satisfied. By far the best Chinese in Monmouth Town. The portions are huge, staff are always friendly, service with a smile. :)

Always a friendly welcome & great food with good size portions never had an issue with any aspect of food or service & we have used them on almost a weekly basis for a few years. Recommend their Special Yung Chow rice which is not on the menu & the Chilli Squid or Ribs.

Quick service, food always ready when you order by phone. Use the Full House regularly and never been disappointed.

By far the best chinese in Monmouth , huge portions and excellent value , Spring rolls to die for.Huge choice on the menu , something for everybody
