Love this bakery variety of pastries and cakes, at good prices. Everything really. Staff nice and friendly. Always a queue which is a good sign of quality and family bakery. Update 2024 finally a Bakery produces their own Norfolk shortcake with currants as it should be😀

My guilty pleasure is a good traditional cake and sandwich which I will have a few of. Cheap and family orientated to ensure your needs are met.

Very friendly place, so many things to choose from and such great value!! We used another bakery that was almost double in price and didn't taste as good, so changed to this bakery when we moved and have been 4 times in the last couple of weeks, because everything is so tasty!! Very busy most of the time when we went past but I can see why, definitely our new favourite local bakery 😍 (highly recommend the apple doughnut!!)

Bought a Eccles Cake and Apple turn over,cut both Cakes in half to share, only to find that both had raw uncooked pastry at the bottom of both Cakes, Not good, this is the 2nd time of trying them.

Really lovely to purchase freshly cooked bread, rolls, cakes etc. This little gem has been trading for years. So good to still find a little bakery and be able to support a small business.

Fantastic bakery when fresh but I so often go in and get sold yesterdays pastries... which are not good, not stale but not fresh.

Today 22/04/2022 I was looking for a proper bakery and I found this one only a couple of miles from where I live.i seen reviews and thought that is where I am going there where others but I chose fresh bake bakery. I purchased 2 sausage rolls at £1.60 each and a loaf of bread at £2.30 a total of £5.50 i thought that was expensive however after tasting the sausage rolls i was impressed they where lovely and I've had a slice of the fresh made bread with butter just to get the natural flavour of the bread that was far superior than supermarket bread. I've lived here over 21 years and never been here until today mainly due to not having my own vehicle and relying on public transport.however I have my own vehicle again and will come back to fresh bake bakery more often the only small criticism is there are no prices online or in store until you ask for an item it would be nice to have a printed leaflet of prices when purchasing and or put the prices on the website so that people can see other nice things that they can purchase and how much it costs. But I will be back again.🍞🍞🍞

The best bakery in town! The sausage rolls were out of this world 🤩 highly recommended. I first discovered them when a client bought a selection of pastries whilst working at their house. I just had to ask where the bakery masters were! Amazing! Truly deserved a great review 🤩

Old school bakery - nothing silly fancy, but good food at sensible prices. Their cheese straws are worthy of a visit alone. There's about 12 in a bag, and very cheesy! (Quiche is also delicious, and the Eccles cake. Not enough filling for me in the apple turnover though 😄 bread is fab) The baker in there has a good sense of humour, and will brightened my day with the cheery service!

Went in for a loaf of bread. The lady serving handed me an unwrapped loaf wearing the same gloves that she had handled money from the gentleman in front of me. I had to tell them I had changed my mind and left the shop as I was horrified and disgusted with this especially with the present situation.

A truly independent bakery, cooking from scratch is a rare thing. Freshbake is exactly that and is one of the best there is. Fantastic produce and truly amazing value for money. Once you've tried there goods you'll never want to buy from a supermarket again.

Stale apple turnovers with no apple inside. Dry Eccles cake with thick pastry. Give this one a miss in future. Hope it improves as i love a good old fashioned bakers.

Fantastic selection of cakes, breads, sandwiches, pies and quiches. Their bread rolls are also a bit of a favourite of my family's, and their cheese straws are a must! The cherry bakewells are huge and delicious, and they also make flapjacks using a combination of oats and cornflakes which gives it a super chewy texture. Would wholeheartedly recommend this bakery!

Been to this amazing bakery so many times over the past few years. Old school bakery who keeps it simple, service is friendly and helpful. Pretty much all the cakes are amazing as well as their homemade bread and other delights. They even done the cakes for our wedding which our guests loved. Good price for amazing fresh made local food.

First visit and will be back - their bread was out of this world - none of that baking power taste or other additives. AND my sister prides herself on the best cheese scones out - sorry Sis.... you have been beaten (haven't told her though ha ha)! I could have bought half the shop as it all looked so good.

Only live down the road from this gem of a bakery. Staff are ever so polite. Great range of cakes and pastries. Love the sausage rolls, quiche and cakes. Cheese straws are the best I have ever tasted but do sell out quickly. Excellent value for money!

they make extremely good bread and once you eat their cheese straws you never want any others They make very good small meat pies which rarely get home as I tend to eat them before I get there

a small independant bakery that bake excellent bread I would reccomend avoiding the cheese straws as once you have tried one they are very addictive in fact i have never tried better meat pies are delicious too

You just can't go wrong with Freshbake everything they make is just spot on and the staff are lovely as well. I have to agree with everyone else that the sausage rolls are the best ever especially if you catch them just out of the oven when they are still warm. Other notable highlights are the Eccles cakes packed full of fruit and the vanilla slices which are the tallest I have ever seen. Pay them a visit you will not be disappointed.

I've been going to this family run bakery for over 20 years. The sausage rolls are sublime and the cheese straws are to die for. The service is always fast. The food is good old fashioned stuff at very good prices. The owner is a little weird, but hey the food is great :)

Was going to write one of these months ago after being asked by james to give my personal opinion as I have been a customer for 16/17 years. Ok I have never had no complaints about stuff but what I will say is when james started working things did begin to change like larger range of cakes, higher standard of bread/rolls but also there was never any waiting about for things to be ready. He used to make me special savouries which the shop didn't sell just to make another customer that little bit happier. Andrews stuff was always ok but James's things were impeccable and as Andrew himself told me james was the best baker he had met and almost had an ocd with making things all look neat and tidy and presented perfect. After the young man took over maybe two years ago myself and other customers noticed changes , a nice new shop sign replaced the 28 year old one, the staff finally got nice matching uniforms and all wares were presented on colour co ordinated trays. Also food safety certificates and his city and guilds displayed on the wall gave us all confidence. Hope Andrew can do the same and display any certificates if he has any? Will miss james and his German franzbrotchen and wish him a speedy recovery. Such a cruel thing to happen to as Andrew said " the best baker I've met" will still use this bakery as it's the only one in miles but it won't be the same "ocd" produce that I had become accustomed too :-(
