I gave just paid £4 for a chai latte where on the board the chai latte was £3 but I have been charged £1 for the oat milk?? Not even in central london

The Banana bread was old and tasted like window cleaner. 🤮 and it was 4.50£

Wonderful as always. Great pastries, and coffees and teas. It's a relaxed environment where one can sit down to read, work, or chit-chat with a friend.

Walked in for breakfast - there were two girls behind the counter, I said “good morning” and got completely ignored, they didn’t even look at me. I sat down to have a look at the menu (which I had to go and grab) but then decided that such rude treatment from the staff doesn’t deserve my money so I got up and left. No one bothered to say bye or ask me why I was leaving without having anything to eat or drink. Simply appalling.

Rude and dismissive service. Took ages to make my coffee, then made the wrong one and I nearly missed my train which I had to run for, so I paid £3.80 for the pleasure of getting no coffee. Won’t be going back.

Good coffee and food but the staff can be quite surly. Asked for a tiny bit more milk in my oat milk latte as it looked super strong (already the most expensive coffee in the area at £3.80 - they charge extra for non-dairy milks and don't give a discount for bringing your own cup) and they reluctantly did so and told me 'we'll charge you accordingly next time'...that put me in my place!

Great place, with a tamed, yet comforting interior. I went there for brunch and had a delicious granola bowl whilst getting some work done. They play music, but it's at just the right volume that you can enjoy it if you like, but it won't disrupt any conversations. Their menu was a delight, simple and efficient. I didn't need a PhD to find what I wanted and the staff were friendly and welcoming. My server made short, but polite conversation when bringing my food and left just as quickly which didn't interrupt my work. Smiles all around! I would have tipped if they didn't take card only. I'll definitely be returning in the future. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lovely coffee, staff and atmosphere.

Couple of weeks ago, I had a lovely breakfast at Fred's in Brockley. I went in because I was in a hurry and needed a quick bite. I have to say it was a delightful experience and I was very impressed with the bread they served. It was what I call, proper and decent bread! well done.

Good coffee. Nice bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese.

Went to Fred’s to have a Sunday morning breakfast. We have been on previous occasions but quite some time ago. There were four of us and two of us had poached eggs - my husband specifically asked for them to be soft. They arrived (after a long wait) very very hard, all of them! They then served a couple sitting behind us and I heard the lady complain about her poached eggs also, saying they were hard boiled! Unfortunately we will not be going back, which is a shame as it used to be much better

Found the girl who served me to be quite rude. Asking customers to stand outside and wait for a coffee when the cafe is totally empty is so unnecessary, especially when the weather is bad/cold. Waiting inside the empty cafe wouldn’t have effected her at all. The barista was lovely but coffee was not good at all. Odd place.

Good coffee and nice spot for breakfast

I have gone to Fred’s ever since it first opened. It’s one of my local cafes and used to be pretty good. But no more. Not only has it turned into some kind of overpriced vegan virtue signalling outfit, their attitude towards people who are exempt from masks absolute stinks. I’m exempt. I used to get a coffee from Fred’s approximately once a week. It’s a small place so it’s not like they don’t recognise me. Yet every single time we go through the same charade. I ask for a coffee. They ask for my mask. I tell them that I’m exempt. Same as last week, the week before that and the 10 weeks before that. They tut at me and grudgingly say okay. Then they literally turf me out and make me wait outside while they make my takeaway coffee. Not only do they need to go on the government website and review the law on masks, they might look up anti-discrimination legislation while they’re at it. If you expect to be treated like a customer - not a leper - when patronising a hospitality business I suggest you spend your money elsewhere. I certainly will.

Fred's is well posted if you look left across the road as you come out of Crofton Park Railway Station. Good staff, service, a variety of refreshments available too while you wait for a train.

Absolutely love this coffee shop- such friendly staff and a very family friendly coffee shop who are always super tolerant (and encouraging) of buggies, babies in high chairs and toddlers. Coffee and food excellent- delicious flatbreads and selection of cakes particularly noteworthy

Was charged £3 for a cold, small and plain sausage roll which could come from Tescos basics range. The yuppie overpriced gentrification offensive strikes again. Feel robbed as could have got an entire meal deal across the road. Do not visit for snacks.

Nice place, had some troubles with the card machine, which is slightly annoying when it's 'card payments only' but food was good service was friendly would still come back.

I enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the attitude of the staff was fantastic. I had two small children with me and they were well catered for.

En este local tan acogedor ofrecen varias opciones de desayuno, tanto dulces como saladas. Tanto el yogur con muesli como el banana bread están deliciosos. Cualquiera de los desayunos que ofrecen (alrededor de 6£ con la bebida), es suficiente cantidad para una persona. Si el tiempo lo permite, la terraza al fondo del local es muy tranquila con lo que degustarás del desayuno con todo el relax.

I used to like this place but now they just lower their service, I asked for a glass to put some water and the glass was dirty, the girl at the tills was very rude. Just a very bad service and I don’t feel comfortable going back again.

Lovely coffee shop with friendly and helpful staff. They always have several vegan food options available and the coffee is good. They also have a back garden which is great in the summer.

I've been twice now and it's been nice each time. I've only had a small sandwich, tea, coffee or fresh juice, but they've all been delicious and promptly made / bought over. There is a decent amount of space in here, especially in the back section and good place to work from for a couple of hours. My only bugbear is the scraping metal chairs, but I can be quite sensitive to noise. There was a rather loose power point here, which is a bit of a H&S concern with kids being bought in. I'm sure heavy handed people charging stuff doesn't help.

SLOW SERVICE FOR COFFEE TAKEAWAYS I used to come here quite a bit for brunch when it first opened and liked the food and the friendly service. But l’ve been a few times recently for takeaway coffee where I’ve given my order and asked if it’s ok that I wait outside (with a double buggy). My order has then taken a while to arrive and people who ordered after me get their coffees before me. I’ve then had to remind them of my order and I’ve had an apology each time but the fact this has happened the last few times I’ve been makes me think that I should go elsewhere for a quick takeaway coffee! Not sure if they have staffing issues or if it’s just my bad luck...

Disappointing experience after a good start. Really badly handled issue with some unwashed salad leaves (lumps of mud!). I made a very low key complaint and wasn't looking to make a fuss but they didn't even apologise or confirm that it wasn't some kind of dressing as I'd originally hoped. At least I saw that they were re-washing all the salad leaves as I left so presumably a one off...

Came in for a quick coffee on a walk and stayed for a while! We ordered some flat whites and a latte to enjoy on the back patio deck, and they were absolutely amazing! While sitting, we saw other patrons being served their brunch and had to ask the server for a menu, as the food all looked outstanding as well. The server was extremely informative and friendly, answering questions about the food as well as the history of Fred’s. The sandwiches tasted as good as they looked. I would highly recommend coming to Fred’s for the coffee, the food, the service, or all three at any time!!

Popped in today for a late lunch. All the staff were lovely - so helpful and just pleasant. The food was also brilliant too. My friend's simple mozzarella toastie looked amazing while my falafel salad looked like art and was equally delicious. Coupled with a fresh and tasty orange, carrot and ginger juice, I came away feeling healthy and full. Great prices too. Totally recommend this place!

Popped in for a late breakfast after passing several times. The atmosphere is lovely and it’s dog friendly if that’s useful. Service friendly and attentive. My sausage sandwich and my friends poached eggs on toast were delicious. Good quality proper tea in its own cafetière and a decent sized mug was much appreciated. Very good portions and excellent value. I’ll be back

Came here last week food was mediocre and the staff were fairly unpleasant. Certainly doesn’t have a nice friendly vibe that other cafes have in this part of London.

Been here quite a few times from when we first visited the area to now living here, good food, lovely staff, great seating area out the back.

Coffee not that good, and very expensive. Sandwiches and cakes, not that great. 😒

Excellent coffee and food. The breakfast banana bread is amazing. Very friendly place with great service and atmosphere. It's a real asset to the local community. The garden at the back is a real suntrap in spring and summer too.

Best place to have a proper Allpress coffee with a variety of breakfast choice. Warm welcome from the staff and the prices are very acceptable .

This place is fabulous! I love the big bear in the garden and how they have maximised on the space that they have. The staff are friendly but at times slow. My only real complaint is that I think the prices are too high. :) Cheers Fred's, I'll be back!

Great place for coffee and cake and very child friendly

I don't mind paying £4.50 for a flat white and a croissant every once in a while but to run out of croissants/pain aux chocolat at 10.30 on a saturday morning is really irritating.

Staff seem friendly enough, I highly recommend the Guinness cake and carrot cake.

I visited this nice looking cafe before work last week. Unfortunately whist drinking my coffee I had to sit through causal bigotry and completely inappropriate comments by an old guy that works there. This is not want I want to have to listen to whilst relaxing in what I thought was a nice cafe in a liberal part of London. I won’t be returning here.

Lovely place with good food and friendly service

Funkily decorated, friendly staff but food was just above better than average. Allpress Coffee was decidedly ordinary unfortunately (milk overheated, coffee a little bitter). Had a lovely space outside with a huge bear to greet you if you like that sort of thing!! It is a great environment to sit in for a little while and many were relaxing or working on their laptops. I was impressed they were vegetarian friendly on toasting sandwiches - unfortunately isn't a given! Perhaps they would well to switch beans suppliers to locals such as dark liquid or volcano or even standard square mile.

Great choice of food from poached eggs back and other bits to the speciality Swedish flatbread sandwiches. An amazing selection of cakes and they serve allpress coffee.
