Frankie's Beach Cafe in Lewes

I have been to Frankies beach bar about a year ago. The service and food was very good. Travelled from Worthing on a beautiful day to enjoy a lunch. Was I wrong! We ordered toasted sandwiches. They were very greasy and inedible. I was told that because they had been busy a buildup of oil had built up on the grill. Greasy spoon,definitely!

Absolutely love this place. The toasted sandwiches are to die for. Been coming here for ever. Great place to chill out

Frankie’s cafe on the beach is a Seaford treasure. EXCELLENT coffee and toasted sandwiches and home made cake. In summer ques of course but today easy to get a coffee. Places to sit and watch the sea.

We were walking the coastal path today. Stopped at a cute beach hut on the seafront at Seaford with outdoor tables. Simple menu of hot/cold drinks and very tasty toasties. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Although it’s called Frankies Cafe, it’s a beach hut! However, we had the most wonderful coffee served by lovely staff. There are picnic tables and deckchairs on the beach so you can drink with a view, that’s what we did! x

Thanks girls for a warm lovely welcome, your jolly attitude and love of your job and boss Dom was so very evident!! The toasted sandwiches were fabulous the orange juice delicious ..we are currently walking the whole UK coast path for charities mind and children in need and truly appreciate the gifted meal and donation to our charities. Great views of the sea and lovely atmosphere THANKS XXX..we fully recommend and will be bsck again 5 star xx

Stopped here after a walk along the prom. Great coffee/mocha/hot chocolate and toasties with the bonus of picnic benches or deck chairs on the beach. Super little find on a beautiful beach with stunning views.

This little shack on the beach is a real gem. The coffee is five stars! The menu is small but it has everything you need. I had a cheese and tomato toastie and it really hit the spot! Another plus is that they also have outdoor seating and an area with some deck chairs on the beach right in front which is great to sit and have a laze in and watch the waves. The service was super friendly also, such a good spot!!! thank you xx

Last week was the 1st time driving with my beloved man to this lovely friendly coffee place by the sea with magical views on a sunny day. Excellent service, good cake & excellent coffee. I'll recommend it to all my friends & will try to get there in the summer time! Xxx

Frankie’s is a little gem of a coffee kiosk in the middle of Seaford Esplanade. I stop and get a coffee from here most days. The coffee is amazing. Made properly using a Barista machine using local coffee. Choice of mills always available. This really is the best coffee along the seafront and well worth the wait at the times there are queues. Lovely toasties and cakes too. Can’t wait until they can put the deckchairs out again.

The cheese they use is YUMMY. Just the best toasties we have ever had. Always go to Frankies when we visit family on our way to Eastbourne. A MUST stop off place for a snack lunch.

This was a welcome find on a cold sunny January day. Hot drinks, toasted sandwiches, cake and so on and all at very fair prices. There are benches to sit at and better still twenty or so deck chairs and small tables. Right on the beach about 400 m west of the Martello tower. Not to be missed.

We love Frankie's kiosk cafe. The people who run the kiosk are friendly and this morning we had a perfect hot cup of coffee and delicious toasties with cheese and tomatoes. Seaford beach can have some extreme weather and this morning was no exception with ominous clouds huge surf and very windy. Frankie's staff offered to bring our order to our car window for us as too windy to sit out.

Stopped off for an ice cream + cake, nom nom, the homemade cake was fabulous, described by the chap beautifully. We sat on the beach deck and were not rushed into leaving.

I love this place. Researched a place for a coffee near the sea, and Frankies came up..All I can say is , don’t go because you will tell friends and then of course they will go , Then this will. Encourage people to keep coming,.. then I will not get a deckchair, and it will always be full .. The food is great, the location is brilliant, but please stay away I want to spend the rest of summer coming here and chilling..Did I mention the prices are very reasonable...I am going tomorrow shhhhh

There isn't much choice along the Seaford prom but Frankie's provides a nice stop at the beach for a cuppa and a snack. Some benches are available or equally you can take away with you. Nice spot for a sunny day on the edge of the beach.

The cafe with very friendly staff is located right on the beach of Seaford. They have provided free of charge very comfortable deck chairs for their customers. You can have a drink and a piece of cake, while admiring and enjoying the panoramic view of the English Channel right in front.

As new visitors to Seaford but ones who will be coming regularly, we are so glad to have found this place! Drinks were great, toastie was absolutely delicious and the people running it were so nice and friendly- not to mention the great location and deck chairs. Will come many times more- thanks!

I'd been the told that the toasties at Frankies were good and I thoroughly agree. Had just completed a morning's walk with friends and we stopped here for a light lunch. My toasted sandwich had cheese ham tomato and red onion. Delicious. Great location on a nice day. Comfy deck chairs.

Living near by I love to visit Seaford. Amazing toasties but I miss the bacon! Great value with free deckchairs. Lovely friendly staff who bring the sandwiches to you!

A smashing spot to stop on the beach for coffe and a bite to eat ,always a friendly happy service good old deck chairs

We took a trip to the Beach and wanted a spot of lunch on the seafront. Glad we did really nice people serving and the toasties were the best I've had for a while! Decent amount of cheese and filling not the usual tiny amount you get in most over priced coffee shops.

This venue has the most incredible woodfire pizzas in QLD! After stumbling across the restaurant, we managed to grab the last remaining table and chairs! The children's pizza's were delicious as were the adult one's. Great size, light, fluffy and melt in your mouth bases. We also ordered a serving of meatballs and salad! The waiter and waitress were extremely friendly, resourceful and attentive. I HIGHLY recommend this venue. 10/10 Thankyou.

Perfectly nice little hut with outside sears that does perfectly reasonable coffee and toasties. I’m only giving 1 star to balance out the Tripadviser algorithm problem that makes this the best restaurant in Seaford.

A cold sunny day, wanted a hot drink whilst wandering along the seafront. A small shack on the seafront with a small decked area on the beach with seating. We ordered a coffee + hot chocolate. Served quickly and promptly. We sat in the shelter out of the wind!!

Location could not be better. I love the strippy deck chairs on the beach. Go for a long walk then stop for coffee & cake 😎

We always visit seafood, park on the west side and walk to the museum. Always past this place and never stopped. So glad we did this time, lovely place staff were fantastic. Grabbed a few toasted sandwiches and cake, were spot on.

Really enjoyed our lunch of delicious toasties, coffee, ice cream at Frankie's, sitting on Seaford beach on Frankie's red striped deckchairs. Unpretentious, authentic,uncluttered by seaside tat, Seaford is an understated real find, and Frankie's sets just the right tone.

It's basically the only decent cafe on the Seaford beach. The guy who runs it finds time to talk to every client and I heard he even bought the sand box for kids and installed it on his own cost.

A lovely place to sit and soak up the sun on the beach. Deckchairs are provided and there is a small sandpit for children making it an ideal meeting place. Coffee is good but not as much choice of cakes as other venues.

Went for a walk along Seaford seafront this afternoon. Frankie's was busy, this made me so and have a drink. Just had a cappuccino but is was one of the best coffee I had. It was made just how I like it. It was even better than Costa and Starbucks. Also cakes and toasted sandwiches that look good too.

No, en absoluto, 11 cafés, tés, bocadillos y sándwiches tostados laminados bacon fuera de la línea de producción (y tan rápido). Una buena forma de empezar el día.

I only found this place in May and have already returned three times! A great place to sit with a coffee/ ice-cream (depending on the British weather!) on one of the provided deckchairs whilst the children play in the well equipped sand pit. What more could a parent ask for! Great beach view, friendly staff and nice coffee.

One of my favourite haunts,it's like a local community centre! Great cafe,run by lovely local people,definitely the best coffee for miles,and the toasted sandwiches are absolute heaven well worth a visit

I found this place whilst out walking my dogs. It's a tiny little place, right on the beach at Seaford.I found it to be clean, the lady working there who served me was very chatty and I seen her gloving up to serve food, which is good to see where there's only one member of staff doing everything. I had a piping hot ham & cheese toast and a tea. Very nice, reasonably priced and has outdoor seating. In fact, all the seating is outdoors - it's a beach!Lovely and lots of free parking along the beach wall.

I don't know how busy this place is in the Summer. Incredibly so I would imagine.I manage to get down there off season on those rare good days that seem to cheat nature.They always seem to be open. In daylight anyway.Great coffee and good chat from the proprietors. Tea cakes are winners too.So take half an hour out. Get down there and enjoy a sneaky carefree moment on the seafront. I dare you.

Good coffee, friendly staff. How they manage from such a small hut defies belief. They take a lot of care with the seating area with a sand pit for children.

The owner of frankies beach cafe is a very nice bloke generally the food and ice ream is excellent bit pricey but worth it. Try the cream tea. ....MARVELLOUS!

An understated small beach kiosk with a few simple wooden benches, clean and tidy, right by the beach in Seaford that does not only make the best coffee/ latte but gives great and friendly customer service, sells yummy toasties and cakes and goes the extra mile with offering free deck chairs and a sandpit for kids.We stop here regularly on our walks since having relocated to the area.What's better than enjoying a real good latte watching the boats out on the sea in the sunset?

A great choice of hot and cold drinks, cappuccino is my favourite, as well as cakes, snacks and ice cream. Plenty of seating and tables on the prom, or deckchairs and tables on the beach. There's also an especially made good sized sandpit and toys for the littl'uns. What better way to relax in the sunshine

We had tea and coffee and walnut cake, all very nice indeed. Very reasonably priced too. Wonderful spot on the beach.

I've been visiting Seaford for some years and love this little place on the beach front. The beach is lovely and I always head to Frankie's beach cafe, pull up a deck chair and sit on the beach having ordered a cup of tea and toasted sarnie. On a sunny day it's idyllic but even on a cooler day it's just great to be by the sea. The food is always good and the service always welcoming and friendly.Plenty of choice on the menu, which is all freshly made to order, of toasted sandwiches, homemade cakes, tea, coffee, ice creams etc all at very reasonable prices.

Revisited this little 'Gem' by size but Great by Style and Attitude... I love it...Always pop in when walk along the seafront and have a chat with the two staff and owner when he is in....I will love to have a real Espresso there, in the future when finance will permit the management to get the proper machine (The owner who originally comes from a Mediterranean country will understand me) but for now, is already "FANTASTICO" and "Gracie Senior"PLDC.

Yes it's that good. Trip Advisor reviews all rate Frankie's highly.That's because it is excellent and exactly the little gem that's described. The tea/coffee/cakes/pastries/sandwiches etc are all top drawer. Well worth the visit...during a walk along the seafront, or in the car (with a view out to sea).

The kids and I fiend most of the spring summer and autumn down st Frankies. Deckchairs, sandpit, sand toys, tables and benched are free to use. The service is fabulous and the toasters are yummy!!!

Great stop when out walking or cycling on the prom at Seaford, good coffee here. They also make a large sand pit in the summer for the children to play in whilst mum and dad sit in a comfy deck chair to take in the fab view....

How the owner and staff produce such a varied amount of food and drink from what is a small hut on the promenade is quite amazing. Excellent and friendly service with free deck chairs an even a children's sand pit.

This is a fantastic addition to Seaford beach, with a range of hot drinks and fresh cakes. The large sandpit created in the shingle in the summer is a great addition and the kids love it.

I'm so glad this little beach cafe exists as the seafront needs places to eat and drink. The owner is friendly, everything well priced and there is a sandpit for the kids to play in (with old fashioned deck chairs for the adults).

We often stop by for a coffee and a sit in the sun on a lazy afternoon. Always great service, always friendly folk sitting around sharing tables or lounging in deckchairs. The coffee's great and Potter the hound loves it here too!

I looked this place up especially after reading the reviews and was not disappointed! Hot coffee, lovely toasted sandwich, £4.70 !It was really relaxing to sit in the sun (last day of Oct!) on the beach. Great dog friendly place, also level access for wheelchairs. Not to be missed.

Always a great stop off when walking on the beach!! You can get great coffee with great service! What more do you need! Would recommend to anyone.

Always a welcome stop on a seaside walk - Frankies (weather) forecast is not to be missed. He even has sand and seats for customers who don't lie to sit o a pebble beach.

This was a great find after being introduced by a friend who's local resident, I've certainly enjoyed summer and beach life much more I frankly think Frankie's is the best beach cafe I've encountered and don't miss it if your visiting, it became a home from home what with its free deckchairs a real bonus !

The setting could not be improved ... a deck chair on the beach, some sunshine and the English Cannel all before you. Metal tables provided on the beach to keep your drinks safe. Single espresso comes in stylish st-steel cup, the doubles in a mug. Have had very tasty, fresh-made sandwiches here, too.My spot of choice for a late-morning caffeine-fix... or to round off a lunch.The team behind the counter are always friendly ... deservedly recommended.

This is a well positioned beach hut cafe right by the sand.They served me with a lovely cup of tea, very nice sausage roll and a fantastic bit of chocolate cake.I later asked a round girl to fill by cycling water bottle, maybe she was having a bad day, but she looked well disgusted.

With a beachfront location, excellent mugs of tea, home-made cakes and very friendly staff, Frankie's is the best cafe in Seaford. This is what beach life is all about. Get your fish and chips, grab your tea and watch the boats sail by. Save room, for the cake!

Seaford is all the better for not having beach side shops and amusements but we do have this little gem. Whatever the weather you get a good cup of Coffee and a smile. Yuo can sit bout in the sunshine or sit in your car depending how hard the wind is blowing or how much rain is falling. Well worth a visit for locals and visitors alike.

Frankie's is primarily a coffee hut which is very keenly priced and very friendly I take the children a lot as they've attempted to make a sandy patch on the largely otherwise shingle seaford bay. The coffee is good and the cake is really top notch!

Having lived in Seaford for 30 years I know how many seafront kiosks have bitten the dust over the years but this one is different: at Frankie's Cafe they realise that being open come rain or shine actually ensures them a steady customer base. Would have been five stars if they catered for people who are gluten and dairy intolerant.

In a place lacking in beachfront cafes, Frankies is an oasis. The place has seating on benches and deckchairs and offers a range of hot and cold snacks, drinks and ice creams. The service is friendly and cooked food is brought to you wherever you sit. On a sunny day like today it's a great way to relax by the sea. Recommended.

You could not get closer to the sea if you wanted to. Great view out over the channel and on a sunny day the outdoor seating is ample and comfortable.

Stopped off here a couple of times,lovely coffee,ice cream and had a bacon sandwich on our last visit,lovely bacon but the bread a bit stale.But with the views ,chairs and a sunny day I will forgive them!!

Very few places on or near the seafront.This is a great place to stop off during a walk along the seafront.Nice cuppa and a cake, sea twinkling, sun shining, perfect.

This little kiosk is full of surprises. Excellent decaff cappachino . as good as anywhere in town, and served in china mugs. Home baked yummy cakes and scrummy toasties. A plus is a sandpit if you have little ones with you. Otherwise just relax in a deckchair and enjoy that beautiful view of the sea and the bay. I love this place.

Stopped on the front at Seaford and had an Espresso at Frankie's Beach Café. Served in a china espresso cup (which is so much nicer than paper cups), hot and flavoursome. I also thought the price was pretty reasonable. The place had a good crowd but the service wasn't affected. Good coffee and good service. To cap it all it was a beautiful afternoon and I sat on a bench and watched the ships roll by and folk swim in the sea. Pretty unique to combine good coffee with a classic Sussex beach.

O nce again good value for money had an americano with a cheese toastie served by sophia lorens sister debbie sat on the free deckchair with good coffee and sandwich on a hot summers day looking at the sea bliss

Best toasties ever. Homemade scones and cakes, always fresh and delicious. Great coffee, Good selection of herbal teas and ice creams. All at very good prices. Plenty of tables and deckchairs to sit and chill. Child and animal friendly.

If you are having a walk along the seafront this is a must place to stop and have tea and cake. The last time I visited we had done a long walk and stopped for tea and cake. We got two very comfy deckchairs with no one infront of us except the lovely sea view. The lady helped bring the food over and the vicotria sponge is the best I have had for a long time and I like my cake. This cake is always very very fresh which is a nice change from shops that give you dry cake. Whenever there is a sunny day I say to my Husband about walking there. Just a shame when the weather is bad and there isn't anyway to be able to enjoy this.

We were taking a family walk and stopped for tea and icecream. Nice comfy deck chairs and friendly staff. Would love to come back and sample food. Very good choice of hot drinks. Prices on the high end of reasonable.

Never go by here without buying an ice cream! And the cakes and hot drinks and toasties are great too. Is a staple of Seaford beach and love the black board updates daily as well ;)

I have stopped at the beach hut one or twice this summer and loved it. I walked into Seaford from Bishopstone on what was quite a nice sunny day (for winter that is) and found that it was closed. I feel that as this place is only one of two cafe's on the seafront and it should be open all year around.My review and rating are only about the winter and lack of opening times. During the spring and summer months this place cannot be faulted and is 5 stars every day of the week.

We were visiting Seaford for a wedding and went for a stroll along Seaford beach and found Frankie's Beach Café. It was very popular and we could see why. Friendly welcome by the owner, good value drinks in real cups and excellent looking home-made cakes. A really good atmosphere and excellent value. We will visit again!
