Foxtons Restaurant & Wine Bar in Northumberland

We have visited this restaurant before and had lovely meal so decided to take the family to enjoy. Overall, it was very nice meal, but we had our 3 dogs and asked for any scraps available. Said no but we do doggie sausages, so then ordered 6 for our dogs. We osked for our bill and horrified to find we had been charged £24 for 6 dog small sausages. Queried with a memer of staff to to say that unfortunately was the price, £4 for a sausage! That tainted for us all the meal that we enjoyed. Pure greed to charge that for the dogs. Needless to say we will never be back and the tip we were going to pay we decided to withhold.

Disappointing, the venue and the menu look very promising. Then someone tried to cook what they were offering. Learnt the main chef was not on and sadly you could tell. The funniest moment was the pasta with halloumi. They dumped half a block of halloumi on top. Starter meant to be served with a crispy fried egg, egg was hardly cooked. Steak meal was nice but I’d ordered a whisky jus and received a red wine jus in error. Ask if the main chef is in, if not go for burgers and more simpler dishes.

Great atmosphere with a classy design yet very relaxed. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, especially the muscles! Only issue we encountered was the ribeye steak was riddled with gristle, which at £30 for a steak was unacceptable. The fillet steak however was beautiful!

As someone who is gluten and dairy intolerant I was stunned to find two whole courses that I could eat, and that were delicious. An incredibly rare event. The vegan/gluten free burger was incredibly tasty, we were given a whole plate of different sauces to go with it, never seen that before, and the chocolate cheesecake was sublime. The service was cheerful and prompt and highly professional without being intrusive.

Visited today was quite poor. Order taken and food came quickly. Went downhill after that. 2 Sunday lunches, beef was brisket cut in thick slices usually Sunday lunch for price (£16.50) consists of thinly cut sirloin pink in the middle . Vegetables were luke warm carrots hard. Altogether a disappointment. Child's meal of pizza and chips was not eaten and overpriced at £8 and did not include ice cream or drink which is usually the norm. Burger meal was just okay nothing special. Staff repeatedly passed our table once we had finished but did not attempt to clear table. We had to ask someone to do this and also request for bill where all staff were hanging about the bar, place wasn't that busy so no excuse for poor service. Initially given the wrong bill which was a lot higher than ours. Obviously we did not order desserts or coffee and went elsewhere. Very disappointed with this restaurant which online purports to be excellent for food and service. Not in our opinion.

Another fantastic meal at foxtons We were excited to try their new and improved menu and all expectations were met once again, My partner went for the cauliflower wellington which she described as a mission as the position was huge! But she polished it all off as it was too good to waste. I myself went for the lemon sole which was absolutely stunning, beautifully presented and full of flavour, potatos were done to perfection and the sole was just melt in the mouth. We finished things off with the dark chocolate cheese cake to share as we were stuffed, not too rich and just finished things off nicely you would never believe that it’s completely vegan too ! We can’t wait to see what they come up with next !!

Nice starter of haggis koftas. Mains haddock and chips was nice but the sole dish was a bit dry, not much sauce and would be nicer with fewer potatoes and some vegetables. Sticky toffee pudding was dry and would be better with custard instead of ice cream. Clafoutis dessert was very nice. Service was fine.

Went here yesterday, I have to say the Haddock and Chips were amazing! The waitress was so helpful as well as one of our party was a picky eater. We will definitely be back in the near future. This is such a good restaurant. Lovely and warm inside as well.

Visited Foxtons yesterday and the food, coffee and service was excellent

Popped in on the off chance for Sunday lunch and the staff very kindly squeezed us in despite being very busy. My husband and I both had the Sunday lunch, one beef and one belly pork. Both were delicious!

Really lovely meal. 6 of us ate and really enjoyed it. Lemon sole in particular.

Great service and fantastic menu choice. Waiting staff extremely accommodating (we asked for breakfast just after their cut off time & were delighted they were still prepared to serve that). Food was hot & super tasty using quality local ingredients.

Very disappointed with this visit. I won’t knock the meal we had as it was good. However we ordered bread and butter and received 5 part baked petit pains and what I mean is they were still part baked they sent them raw with no crisp to them no colour they were absolutely disgusting. When we sent them back I asked for them to be taken off the bill to be confronted by staff stating they had all tasted the rolls and said nothing was wrong with them. I stated they were raw but they just got very obnoxious. Hence we won’t be back! They lost 3 paying customers through a batch of raw bread.

Called in Berwick on our way back from Scotland to Sheffield. There wasn’t much open with it being New Year’s Day so it was busy but the lovely host found us a seat. Food was lovely, we had roast dinners and a curry and it was all excellent. Would definitely recommend and thank you for having us!

Lack of knowledge of diet requirement and health standards they serve vegetarian food but fry on the same oil and grill as the meat. Not to mention the over prices We asked about if they were dog friendly and they say yes. Once in the restaurant there was a problem with the dog

Visited first on a Sunday afternoon with no booking, very accommodating and set us up with a table of 4 no problem! Beautiful Sunday dinners along with a main menu if that didn't suit you, like myself who opted into the lindisfarne burger! Which was amazing! Came yesterday for breakfast and again! Amazing food and amazing hospitality! Only negative thing I would say (which I shouldn't) is that the food is phenomenonal and certainly under priced! Especially the breakfasts! The cheapest we found in town and the best! Thank you very much we cannot wait to visit again! :)

Northern Soul Night out with friends. Our 12 staff really enjoyed the Foxtons venue. Warm welcome and helpful staff. We all enjoyed our starters from a rich selection on Christmas and full menu. Service prompt and showing patience to get our orders correct 👌🥂Not an easy shift with some in our company😜. The mains were a selection from an extensive menu excellent quality, good portions and well presented too. It prompted more of our company to try the desserts. Tasty and local produce & ice creams Comments -- • One of best mains fish dishes I have had ,very tasty 👍 • well presented and quality traditional Christmas main course • Enjoyed every one of the 3 courses 👌 Massive thanks to Mark, restaurant staff , chefs & all involved. We were meeting up with relatives and Berwick was about halfway for both of us. Chose this place based on reviews and also that some other places don’t open on a Tuesday. This is a lovely little restaurant/wine bar to visit on a cold damp day. Started with coffee as too early for lunch. Moved through to the restaurant at 12 and we all had a lovely meal that was very reasonably priced. Staff were all friendly and the place had a lovely atmosphere so will definitely be back again.

We have a delicious steak, cooked to perfection. The young lady serving was amazing, and the other customers were also super nice. My dog felt at home.

We had the pleasure of dining here with friends and very much enjoyed the Xmas dishes! A wonderful choice of dishes on the Xmas menu which runs alongside their regular menu. I can highly recommend the ham hock croquettes as a starter and the Turkey for main, both absolutely delicious! Alongside a fantastic wine selection and fabulous service from lovely staff we cant fault Foxtons 😊

This establishment is not aware of the equality act 2010. They will only allow people with a guide dog to sit in a designated pet area. Would they expect anyone else with any other kind of mobility aid to sit in this area? I always think that if an establishment is happy to break the law in this way, they could be happy to do so in other ways too.

I had to send the lamb curry back to the kitchen. I think they forgot to add any spices to it, and it was lukewarm. Plus, and only 5 little bits of lamb. It came back with a few more bits of lamb and had been heated up. but it still didn't taste like any curry I've had before , I ate it as I was very hungry at that time.

Once again foxtons did not disappoint! After our last visit we were eager to return, opted for the chicken spring rolls and prawn fritters to start both packed with flavour. We followed up with the chicken supreme and lamb curry, which was outstanding generous portions as always and the lamb just melts in the mouth ! Very much looking forward to returning next month to try their Christmas dinners.

Menu looked good , so as it was my birthday we booked a table , good choice on the menu so my wife had the katsu veg curry and I chose the lamb curry . My wife was pleased with hers but my dish was the furthest from being a curry than I have ever tasted , bland and not a hint of anything resembling a spice , 5 little pieces of lamb and some brownish green lukewarm liquid , I had to send it back to the kitchen. When it came back there was slightly more lamb and it was hotter , Not a restaurant that I would recommend,

Excellent wine bar and restaurant..the food was really lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful...We enjoyed our meal so much that we booked again.. for beer lovers the highlight was Timothy Taylor's landlord on draught!!!.. Wine was also lovely too....

Think waitress was new, mucked up a wee bit with order but was nice enough. Starter: Vegetable kebab/skewer was bit bleak/basic. Main: Steak was the best steak I have eaten at a restaurant, cooked perfectly, sides were delicious and just the right amount for it, there was no grizzly fat through it, and charred just the right amount - only criticism is red wine jus was not very flavourful. Dessert: Good standard banoffee pie. Would go back for main/dessert.

As always another fantastic meal in foxtons,it was my birthday weekend and a treat from my husband & son. The food is delicious the staff are so friendly would def recommend foxtons for a great night.

Our first visit, but had had lots of recommendations. Service excellent, both meals were delicious and served in a very reasonable time, especially considering how busy it was. Good choice on the menu. Table booking a must, we rang Saturday afternoon and they fitted us in thankfully. Staff attentive and friendly.

Regularly head to Foxtons when down at the family caravan. The low reviews are frankly bizarre. Never had a bad meal, bad service or any need to complain about anything. Food is cooked well. Priced well and served with a smile. I have recommended to numerous people to dine here and all have had a wonderful experience. Looking forward to getting back asap

Great service, great food. I had the The Bridges Burger - wasn't sure if pastrami would work well on a burger but took a punt and can recommend. My wife had the soy and maple glaze salmon which she also enjoyed.

Great find, wish we'd found it earlier. Full English breakfast was great, just make sure you are really hungry as it's a huge plateful of tasty food. Will definitely go back for lunch / evening meal.

Great quality food, nice and fresh and very flavoursome. Good with allergies and dog friendly inside too. My only gripe is that some of the seating is taken up with some regulars there to enjoy their afternoon pints of beer which makes for some awkward conversations

I visited here twice this week, first for a vegetarian Sunday roast which was amazing! The second time for a halloumi flat bread with chips aid stocky toffee pudding which was also amazing. The staff are lovely and make you feel very welcome. There are limited vegetarian options but the ones I had, I would have again.
