my partner and i attended the pub for a meal. Service with a smile and great quality food. i have just read a scathing review from other diners on that night about chewing gum in a pie. We were at the bar whilst the family bombarded the poor bar staff about the issue. I googled and there is no way chewing gum would stay normal in a hot cooked pie. The pie was taken to the bar and you could see the bit of freshly chewed gum. It is dreadful that hardworking restaurants are fleeced by people. if they did not want to pay for the meal do not book it. We heard the staff apologise and explained no way would gum be in the food as they do not permit it in their kitchens. they also did not quibble about the food and only asked that the drinks were paid for. Seemed super generous to us! Shame on the people who not only did not have to pay their bill but also put a dreadful review!! thank you foundry arms for great found and service. we will definitely return.

On the 2nd March, my family and I attended the foundry arms for a special meal to celebrate my 30th birthday. There were 9 of us all together, 7 adults and 3 children. The evening started off well with a drink and friendly service from the gentlemen working that evening. All was going well until my husband went to finish his steak pie, the last mouthful and he was stunned to discover something absolutely disgusting in his food, there was CHEWING GUM in his pie. We honeslty couldn’t believe it, but it was 100% without a doubt minty CHEWED gum. Adam instantly ran to the toilet and stayed there, for the rest of our evening, gagging over the toilet. We all felt completely sick and none of us could finish our meals. My plate was still full. Our waiter was completely stunned and also disgusted once we showed him the vile discovery.. we remained calm, polite and discreet about the situation, not wanting to upset any other customers enjoying and ordering food. It was agreed that we would cover our drinks bill (around £60) and the food would be taken off. Which to be honest, is the absolute least they could have done considering we all felt sick and my birthday meal was completely ruined. We went home and tried to just move on from it. Since then, the owner has been in touch with my sister and unfortunately not handled the situation well at all. Hence, why I’m now leaving this review. She has since implied that.. One of our daughters planted the chewing gum as a “prank” so now not accepting responsibility and BLAMING our 4&5 year old girls, who were absolute angels throughout the whole ordeal. Unbelievably she has now threatened to “call the police, as we refused to pay for our meal” I’m genuinely so stunned with such a statement I don’t even really know what to say, it’s just absolutely abysmal. As a small business owner myself, I completely understand that things happen, we’re only human and mistakes are made. But this isn’t the odd hair, it was a chewed up piece of gum and the way it’s been handled has just been a disgrace, treating customers like criminals and passing blame when really we just wanted a lovely evening together to celebrate a special day. Absolutely do not recommend, in fact, avoid altogether.

My husband our chihuahua and I went for a meal at the foundry arm’s tonight, 2 hours later and i’m still full. We were made very welcome and on such a cold wet night it was great to be greeted by a glowing log burner. What a fabulous meal we had and such generous portions. I had belly pork with bootiful buttery mash and roasted root veg which made a nice change from boiled veg. Hubby had hunters chicken and lovely fat chips. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our choices and look forward to returning to sample more of the menu which although not massive had everything you would expect to see on any good pub menu. The lunch and pizza menu’s also looked great. There is a large part covered beer garden at the rear of the bar which is imagine is fantastic on long hot summer evenings, especially as I believe live music is often a feature.

After a nightmare of a journey down and not finding our apartment easily, both myself and wife were starving and nowhere was open! We found the foundry arms and they were extremely accommodating to our needs and going above and beyond. Not to mention food was incredible.

I rarely write reviews, but the warm welcome and outstanding service at this place compelled me to express my gratitude. Our group of 12 visited twice, and each time the food surpassed our expectations. If you're in the area, a visit is a must – you won't be disappointed! Thank you!

Visited the foundry for the first time on a Sunday. Took family who were visiting and have to say the food, atmosphere and general experience was great. Exceptionally dog friendly which is great for our 2 spaniels. Roast was brilliant and for the price I would visit every week if my waistline would allow it.

On arrival we were greeted by friendly helpful staff. A lovely welcoming atmosphere. Menu is amazing. Food came out perfectly cooked and well presented, and tasted great. Definitely recommend the Salmon. Great choice of gins to. The ladies toilets were sparkling! A lovely little pub. We will certainly visit again.
