First time here and food was excellent, great portions, fair price and excellent service, family of 5 for Thursday steak night and food bill was under £80, this is definitely a hidden gem and we will be back soon A+

The restaurant part of Fortwilliam golf club is called the Downview Restaurant. Food is very good, reasonably priced and portions are big. Service was a bit slow but can be excused as they were busy that day due to a lot of communion bookings. They do a steak night on Thursdays which seems like a good deal Got served easily enough at the bar though had a few issues with the cleanliness of the glasses we were given

Went here as a family of six and the food was really nice. Good service and decent portion size. Would definitely return and would recommend.

Club is situated on the Northenden of Belfast overlooking Belfast lough and County Down with views of Scotland in the distance and nestling under the cavehill. Good restaurant and bars offering great hospitality and food. Course is relatively short at just over 6000 yards but one has to maintain straight drives , otherwise playing out of trees will hinder your approach to nearly all the greens. The course is one of the oldest in Belfast and a founding member of the Golfing Union of Ireland, now known as Golf Ireland. Par 70 course no water features to worry about but would recommend taking a buggy for those little upward hills. Reasonable green fees for visitors

I was here as part of a large group. My starter was crab fish cakes followed by a beautiful main course of chicken, champ and mangetouts. The accompanying pepper sauce was beautiful. The main course was piping hot which is unusual when part of a large group, I find. For dessert I had strawberry cheesecake. The whole meal was very enjoyable and the rest of the group were all pleased with theirs too. I shall definitely go back here!

We have just had a wedding celebration at the golf club and we certainly were not disappointed. Raymond and his staff were amazing and we had first class food. A big thank you to the chef. Raymond and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. A big shout out to Sophie who put the decorations together, so talented. Because of it being Christmas, the decor was fantastic which was a lovely bonus.

I had dinner with my family here and was certainly not disappointed. The variety on the menu is fantastic and the food was to die for. The service was first class, the staff are very friendly and intensive, nothings a problem. Love going there, a nice treat, with good atmosphere.

Great take away Sunday dinner. We ordered 1 adult and 2 kids turkey dinners. Lots of meat and veg. Gravy came in separate container and kids meal came with chocolate fudge cake. Loved that they didn’t pack it up until I arrived to collect it, ensuring dinners were piping hot. Excellent value for money. We will be repeat customers. Thanks you Fortwilliam.

Been here for many meals and the food is absolutely beautiful. Marty and his team have worked wonders in the kitchen every dish that comes out is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend the duck which isint on the menu but sometimes served as a special. We had a teenager with us on one occasion who's an extremely fussy eater and was disappointed to see there was no lasagna on the menu.. Mentioned it to Marty the chef and absolutely not a bother a lasagna was knocked up which amazingly she finished the entire plate. We've even ordered buffets for family occasions and had them delivered to the door and their always a massive hit with everyone. Highly recommended

Lovely family dinner for my dad's 80th birthday. 20 of us had a lovely dinner, very helpful and accommodating staff, no rush and good food! Definitely be back 😁 thank you for making it special!

Worst meal ever! Zero customer service. The menu on line is not the menu you are given it is greatly reduced. We ordered “GLIN VALLEY CHICKEN STACK Oven roasted supreme, crisp bacon, creamy champ, tobacco onions” We received a piece of dried out chicken, a slice of bacon, no champ & 3 very greesy onion rings - it bore no resemblance to the menu. I had a burger which turned up after around 40 mins it had been under a heat lamp for some time the bap was nearly solid! We ordered chips & garlic potatoes for sides - they had been cooked in oil that should have been changed a long long time ago they were greesy, dark brown & completely inedible. The waitress put the food on the table & left, we tried to get her attention but were ignored, her colleague was not to be seen. When the table was eventually cleared - I pointed out the meal had come without champ & the side orders were inedible & untouched - her response “oh I will speak to the chef” she left & did not return. We went to pay the bill & did not even get to speak! the waitress was obviously well used to this situation said “you didn’t pay for the sides I can’t take them off” she missed the point they are an integral part of the meal & that the champ was missing. This was unequivocally the worst meal & customer service I have ever had the misfortune to be on the receiving end of. I would rather sail on the Titanic without a life jacket than risk eating here again!

Food was served cold to everyone in a group of 18....then 'reheated'...returned cold again and you had to pick your original plate of dinner. Essentially don't book for a meal if you want a nice experience... local well known carry outs will provide a better experience as I discovered!

Great golf course in the heart of North Belfast, very well maintained and it also has a great restaurant with lots of different foods to tempt your Pallett and a great Ulster fry

i have been here a few times and the food is always good The team they have working there are lovely and nothing is too much trouble we will be back

En una familia de bautizo recientemente. El dedo comida decepcionante grasienta y no lo suficientemente caliente, servido desde el pasillo en la planta superior. El bar del piso superior no tienen cerveza y tuve que ir a otro bar y llevar las bebidas. En la planta de abajo los inodoros más cercana. Cualquiera con problemas de movilidad hay un ascensor lento. Wc discapacitados no es lo suficientemente limpia y sin rollos de papel higiénico. Posteriormente nos trasladamos al bar de la planta baja no muy acogedor o la familia. Personal bien no parecía contento de tener a medida. No puedo comentar sobre la comida del restaurante. Pero puedo decir que he estado en muchos clubes de golf y siempre feliz con el servicio. Club de Golf Fortwilliam ni siquiera comparar con otros clubes. Me dieron dos estrellas porque era local y acceso fácil aparcamiento. Además tiene una buena vista desde el último piso.

Bebimos un Chardonnay australiano. Servicio por personal muy bien decoradas estaba resbaladiza y eficiente.El comedor estaba lleno de clientes contentos en un ambiente agradable.Y no hay que olvidar: buena relación calidad-precio!Este restaurante, situado en un hermoso campo de golf, es muy recomendable.

Yo uso para ser un miembro de fwgc y el catering nunca fue estupendo, así que no había sido por 4 o 5 años, así que cuando vi la oferta treatticket decidí darle una oportunidad. Bien, qué sorpresa la comida era muy sabrosa y excelente relación calidad-precio. Tuve bacalao y patatas fritas y mi esposa tenía pollo pila ambos eran muy sabroso y todo por £9. 50 por 2, por lo que, sin duda, una ganga, y bien vale la pena la visita. También veo que tienen diferentes, así que ofrece treatticket, mi consejo es que no pase de este y no hagas caso a la mala crítica porque por lo que pude ver su obvia. Sin duda volveremos. Pd. Jugado este curso anteriormente hoy en tiempo cambiante. La mayor parte era luminosa y soleada, pero estaban sujetos a unos pasando un aguacero. El campo me pareció en general en muy buenas condiciones y tengo que decir que el césped era excepcional, absolutamente impecable y generalmente muy rápido. Fue una estancia muy agradable durante todo el año. Servicio en el club era bueno, con un personal amable y eficiente. Buena selección de comida y vasos limpios y proyecto bueno desde el bar. No tengo ninguna queja.

Cenamos aquí muchas veces tienen más de un número de años pero tristemente visitas recientes cambió mi opinión sobre lo que solía ser un lugar excelente que sirve deliciosa comida. El personal es muy amable y servicial, pero el menú es deficiente elección e incluso entonces todos los artículos no siempre están disponibles. Durante una reciente visita esperamos 40 minutos para recibir nuestra entrada y luego otras 15 minutos para el plato principal y, por desgracia, la comida no valió la pena la espera. Esto era difícil de entender, ya que había muy pocos otros comensales y un montón de personal de la planta.

3 friends for Xmas lunch,restaurant was very festive nd tables beautiful,staff helpful from we are,orders taken,starters arr,gorgeous,the full Christmas dinner,piping hot well presented,just enough on plate with xtra veg etc, in a side dish,onto dessert,pavlova,Xmas pud nd coffee royals all well above average.our server was well informed and efficient.fortwilliam golf club certainly redeemed themselves after our previous xperience and we will definitely return in the future.best Christmas dinner Iv had in a long time,

Es un club de golf Fortwilliam muy acogedor, con instalaciones de golf que le prueba a cualquier golfista, el campo es montañoso, pero el paisaje es uno de los mejores en Belfast, green fees pueden organizarse a través de compras profesional o descuentos fairways.

Hemos estado en la noche carne en muchas ocasiones. Se está poniendo más caro. Por £24 te dan dos filetes y una selección de patatas. Verduras, etc. son extra. No parece ser tan buena como lo era. El bar y el restaurante vacío. Es una pena, porque este es un lugar encantador.

Well laid out and cared for golf course with great views over Belfast, really good clubhouse which has excellent food on offer.

After our new grandson was christened we went to the fortwilliam golf club restaurant for dinner . A great experience , first class service , food and the staff are so friendly and helpful , it made our day . My personal thanks to all at the club , and thank you for a wonderful day . I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone for a fantastic day out .

Lovely food in beautiful surroundings. Very friendly staff and not over priced. Worth trying for Sunday dinner/lunch. I think reservations are required but I'm not sure.

last weekend I went with my family for sunday luch to this resturant. the food was excellent and the service second to none. I was delighted with the choice of menu and the price was great for what you were given. my three friends also enjoyed their meal and I would defineitely try the restaurant out for good value for money - it is open to the public and does lunch - evening meals and saturday and sunday lunch. plenty to choose from - have a look

Visited last night with friends for the Tuesday Special meal deal,21/4/15, 2 courses & a bottle of house wine for £28.95 per couple.2 starters of bruschetta & 2 spicy chicken salad declared delicious.Mains of 2 chicken fillets with pepper sauce topped with tobacco onions & 2 seabass fillets accompanied by tiger prawns in chilli sauce. All accompanied by a selection of 4 types of potatoes along with carrots & shredded cabbage mix.All 4 plates cleaned. Verdict.Delicious. Waiting staff were excellent & the views from the dining room over the golf course & Belfast lough are stunning.It will not be long before we return as it is literally on our doorstep.

Oh dear went here for lunch and what a disappointment that was. First impressions the place could do with a make over. Views were fantastic. Service left a lot to be desired only two members of staff not counting the bar man. We seated ourselves at a dirty table only because of the view no one cleaned the table when they took our order so I had to do it with my napkin. Food was terrible I had the rib and chicken combo with chips in a basket. 3 tiny ribs and 3 overcooked chicken strips chips were hard undercooked and very pale. As it was only a lunch I didn't complain but wont be back.

Had organized an 80th Birthday meal here for family and friends. It went very well, I can have no complaints. I don't know of a single person who didn't thoroughly enjoy the meal. Staff were accommodating re. balloons and banners, set-up was nice and staff attentive throughout. Food from a set menu pre-discussed was really good. Sea Bass was lovely, Ham hock same. Beef too. Thanks to all the staff. The 'oldies' all had a wonderful time. On reflection good price too. I've previously heard this place can be inconsistent but I can only comment on this occasion which was great. Lovely view over Belfast Lough under the moon too. Great night.

We we in a party of 26 people attending on Sunday. The service was excellent, the staff couldnt be nicer and the food topped the lot!!Sunday Lunch 3 Course for £15.95. I got the sirloin steak which was £4 surcharge. The meat was cooked to perfection and staff were on hand to get any additional side orders.I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

As the title says, good food, handy location but the staff need training in customer service. A smile costs nothing and a knowledge of the menu would also be good.

I was invited to dinner at the golf Club by two of the members. We were a party of six people. The food was very good and quite substantial. As it was my first time dining in a Golf Club i didn't know what to expect, but I was quite impressed. There is a nice seating area with great views over Belfast and a spectacular view of Cave Hill from the courtyard. The only drawback is that you can only eat there if invited by a club member - pity.

was at the restaraunt in fortwilliam run by brothers kevin & gerry mc court steak night thursdays 2 sirloins and trimmings for £20 per couple .only bad thing i can say is bar bill to be payed seperatly so if paying bby card make sure you bring cash for drinks but defo worth a visit 5* food

well was there on sunday and i must say i hope i never have the unfortunate invite to attend this place again , although we were pre warned about a kids party i wasnt expecting half the kid population of belfast, running around the whole restaurant , lying on floors and screaming, anyway enough of that , shown to are table which was fine , near a window but close to the kitchen exit (that didnt bother us), wot bothers me is what sort of establishment calls themselves a restaurants and bearly gives an ounce of service, everything from ordering drinks to the food service was shocking , took about 15/20 minutes to even have someone offer us a drink, and that was only for wine , everything else you had to go up to the bar to get yourself , brought a cake and asked for that to b taken to give us more room on the table , but that request was ignored so ended up having to put it on the floor beside us.we were there around maybe 45 minutes before our order was taken , which was straight forward starters came out which were all very nice , however one of our guests asked for more bread for his pate from the waiter , lets say were still waiting on it , starters were cleared maybe 10 minutes after we all finished and mains were brought out not long after that , all food brought out and left - no could i get yous anything else , i had the sirloin which was over-cooked , asked for a medium came out well done, at this point a server should have asked was everything ok , but having 2 of our party waving for attention for maybe 10/15 minutes we finally got a server, to my amazment she said well there was a medium sent out has anyone else got it - excuse me!!!!! im first at the table the waiter said medium and i said yes , hows this my fault , anyway got sent back and a fresh one served with fresh chips and veg , however now this was undercooked , well good luck getting a server cause yet again no one checked on the table again so just bit the bullet and ate it as most of the party were near/had finished As i myself am a manager in the hospitiality and catering industry whoever is suppose to be running and training their staff really does need some training themselves, totally shocking service with quite good food

Situated on the Antrim road area of North Belfast, Fortwilliam golf club is as good as any course in the world. Beautifully scenic location, lovely clubhouse with friendly restaurant and bar.

We stumbled upon this restaurant when nearby Hotel unexpectedly shut. What a great surprise this was, fabulous food. The Pork Belly main the best I've tasted, steaks cooked perfectly and very reasonable. The place wasn't busy though I hope this great Golf course restaurant can keep up the high standards and costs to minimum
