The Best Fish & Chip Shop in the World.

Travelled 9 hours just to try and wasn’t disappointed. Anyone passing by should in fact needs to get some. The fish was just mouth watering an the chips was just as good. Oh and the scampi was just beautiful. Owners are super friendly and welcoming. After having this I don’t feel any other chippy will compare. Would happily make the 9 hour round trip again. Thank you.

Visited early September 2022. Wow, best fish and chips we have enjoyed for a long time! Batter on the fish was wonderfully crisp and not greasy at all, chips portion was so big we put some in the fridge and had them heated up the next day. Shame we were only in the area on holiday, we would be having food from here every week!

This is the best chip shop in Uckfield. I would highly recommend them, the owners are always glad to see us, and asking how we are every time we go in. The prices are modest and the portions too. I would recommend this chip shop. 10/10.

Not let me down for decent fish n chips yet. Friendly service but takeaway only. Be warned they only take cash, not cards though there's a cash machine a few minutes down the street. There's a handy carpark round the back of the buildings across the road.

Went in to a clean and welcoming traditional Fish & Chip Shop. Ordered four Haddock and Chips and waited for them to be cooked, which was well worth the wait. The fish was tasty, batter well cooked and chips not greasy. Portions were a good size and great value for money. Highly recommend.

On recommendation we had fish and chips from Fortune Fish Bar.....we were not disappointed. The portion size was reasonable and not too greasy. We will definitely be having them again.

Amazing chips, best i have had for years. However, my pie was microwaved and the meat was chewy. Tasty gravy but an awful pie. My partners cod was excellent in size and quality but the batter was not crisp, it was soggy. I know that it is Weald in the field evening with lots of people eating there - but disappointed over all. .

Living a few miles away I tripadvisored best fish and chips locally after my normal chippy has not been so good later. Well the cod and chips we had was some of best I have ever had and we will be going back. Fresh and tasty.

Of all the fish and chip shops in Uckfield, this is the only one I buy from. If you order in advance, it's ready for you at your allotted time. When ordering during a walk-in you only have to wait 10-15 mins whilst it is cooked freshly for you. The batter on the fish is crisp and so are the chips. Although this used to be a cheap meal, the price of fish we all know is expensiive. Nevertheless, this is still a very delicious "English" occasional treat for me . We all know fish and chips is going to be greasy; but no sogginess at this establishment! Shop is clean and you are always greeted with a smile and a polite hello. Great service. Thank you

Passing by on a flying visit to the area so popped in for a Saturday night treat. The fish was lovely, good size, batter not too oily and lovely and crisp, a huge portion of chips too.

The chippy does what any good chippy should do and doesn't try to go beyond. Fish is good size, so are chip portions and, most importantly, really good batter - crisp and flavoursome. Always a nice friendly welcome too. Highly recommended.

My wife recommended this place as it is her local and I've always been adamant that my local is better. On reflection after a well priced and portioned meal that surprise surprise my wife is correct :-) keep on serving nice food, shame you have no parking outside as many others do and probably capitalise on that. Maybe you can be the first to deliver?!
