Been here twice, probably a year apart. The food, service, and atmosphere were just as good as the first time. You must try the chips they are really good. Good food at a reasonable price. With a nice warm fire to keep you warm on a cold, rainy day. Would recommend.

Great place that's tucked away in the woods, very close to Castell Coch. Good coffee & food with table service. Gluten free options and the prices are good too. I had the bacon and egg sandwich on toasted gluten free bread. Sensational Sunday dinners. Best to book for this. Very rustic so wear your wellies and it's dog friendly. Good for kids. Toys inside of it's raining and animals outside to see. Right on the walking trails as well.

A lovely locally run cafe that was the perfect dog friendly pit stop after a walk around the woods. We just had some chips and coffee/tea. The chips were good, the coffee tasted like machine coffee but was fine, and my partner had a slice of cake which he said was really nice and home made. Very much appreciated the doggy ice cream! So reasonably priced too and the place was full of other walkers and families stopping for lunch.

Food is good for what it is, easy grub while at the forest. Nice breakfast and sandwiches at a reasonable price. The coffee is just not good, that could improve surely.

We stopped by for cake and a drink first and it was quite busy so we had to wait a bit for a cappuccino, can of pop and slice of coffee cake.... but the surroundings and show-off peacock made the wait fun. We accidentally walked over 4 miles during the day and ended back at the tea rooms having put all our money in the car after the first visit. It was excessively hot and the cafe team sorted us all out with cold tap water and checked we were ok and if we needed any refills- so polite and friendly towards 3 individuals all with major anxiety issues! We have visited this cosy little forest cafe before & were pleasantly surprised with cafe, decent coffee & cake. But this wknds visit was really poor on their behalf. Arrived around lunch time on saturday , it was fairy busy. There were 3 empty tables but they hadn't been cleaned so sat on one of them whilst the Mrs ordered our food etc, whilst i was sat there waiting a member of staff walked passed all the tables making no effort to clear them ? So the Mrs returned from ordering food & the tables still hadn't been cleared etc, so i called at the counter to ask a member of staff if they could clear/clean our table. A young lad did & left some items of food & a empty bottle on our table & didn't bother wiping the table either, so after about 20 mins wait for our toastys arrived & they were ok.Still no coffee ? finished our food , still no coffee ? went to the counter again to ask were our coffee was " its next " they replied no apology another 10-15 mins passed &still; no coffee , back to the counter to ask about coffee "whats your table number its next" they replied again. By now we had had enough of the poor attitude of staff , we were ready to walk out. Just as were about to leave a young lady bought our coffee about 20 mins after we had finished our food & to top it all off she gave us a stinking glare as she brought our coffee to our table & offered no apology or explanation.

We were out for a long cross country hike yesterday and stopped off for a mug of tea and a welsh cake. We were warmly greatest and served promptly. We have been before and we will go back again.

Traipse along some tracks through Forest Fawr and you spot a sign or two pointing you to the Tea Rooms. And if you do find it, you'll see a nice, cosy little shack where you can grab a drink and a bite to eat (cakes, savoury snacks etc). There are a few tables and chairs inside, a working fire (and several on display) and a few more tables outside. Unfortunately, it's small and can get very busy and they don't have many staff; and they tend to run out of items quite a lot. They'll tell you how long you'll have to wait, though. It would be fantastic if they were able to get more staff at weekends - and better coffee.. Friendly and cosy if you can get inside.

Visited on a cold winters day. Hoping for hot soup and although in menu unfortunately they’d run out. Opted for cheese toastie which was very tasty although salad garnish was indeed a small garnish with a scattering of crisps.

I’ve been coming here for nigh on 2 years . A fabulous forest cafe in the middle of the woods , with cosy seating , log burning fires , and Peacocks! As usual I had a fabulous lunch , of Seasonal pie, mashed potatoes, sprouts and gravy - fabulous as always , and friendly helpful staff. This place is a wonderful relaxing retreat ,from the busy lifestyle that we all live in.

We visited the sister cafe in Tongwynlais,on the main road.Dave and Shirley were most welcoming. The four of us tried the cooked breakfast. What a treat we had, beautifully cooked, and tea and toast for only £3.99 per person. We all enjoyed this treat, and superb value for money.Perhaps,we will visit their other cafe.Because this one is a hidden gem.

Sadly I can't give this place any more than 2 stars. We visited today after a lovely woodland walk and built up an appetite. We've been here before for a warm cuppa bit never ate, and probably won't visit again.

Found this cafe about 2 years ago having lived in the area for 25 years!!! Have been regular visitors since. Lovey large cups of tea fantastic bacon sandwiches and toasted fruit bread. Very rustic. Can sit outside in the woods or inside by wood burning fires. Very friendly staff. Would highly recommend. Great to visit after going to Castell Coach or a walk through the woods.

A cute place to enjoy a drink and tasty snack amongst the trees if it's warm enough or in the cost rooms with wood burners lit on chillier days. Very nice staff served us. Great to enjoy outside amongst the forest trees in the autumn sunshine.
