Flying Dragon in Scarborough

This use to be a favourite place of mine but past 2 times iv ordered not been clever at all… tonight I made an order which came wrong Evan though they said they wasn’t busy. By time I got my special chowmain all my other things was cold and it was bland with tough meat … pretty disappointing. The delivery guy was lovely couldn’t apologise enough and the lady on the phone was also lovely. I really hope they can sort this out as usually a lovey takeaway

Ordered takeaway for delivery, took 2.5hours 1.5 hours longer than time given?? Food turned up lukewarm, had to call the restaurant twice to chase up delivery time, food not great, normally good service and food, disappointed, will not be rushing back??

Got takeaway then other night and oh my days was best Chinese Iv had in a long time,hubby had beef curry said it was lovely I had the automatic duck the portion sizes are huge and you can tell it's all so fresh,and oh the won tons and mini spring rolls are just perfect.both the lady on the phone and delivery driver was so polite, definitely found my new takeaway 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 all the way from us

I don’t visit Scarborough much , but so glad I walked into ‘The Flying Dragon ‘ . The big spring rolls , I got veggie and meat versions . Special chow mien , the noodles , sauce and veg , bean sprouts. Massive portions . Clean and fresh food ! Great chef whoever they were , big love to them !! Our new go to Chinese when we are at our caravan for quality of food, value and politeness of staff. Used twice so far and all of our friends and family have commented on the quality and taste of the food delivered. Delivery has also been very prompt and courteous.

Great food, great service as food arrived pretty quickly with decent sized portions and hot it’s definitely my go to for a delivery for comfort food would definitely recommend

we called in here last night (24th March 2023) we was greeted by a young lady who was very polite and smiley and ordered our food. we ordered a chicken curry with fried rice and a sweet and sour pork with chips so we could split between us and also sweet and sour chicken balls, chicken n sweetcorn soup and onion rings so we had a proper Friday night takeaway plus free salt n pepper chicken wings which i haven't had for ages £26 for a feast I was amazed at the price as we haven't eaten out for ages due to cost of living these days so this is a treat. the food was amazing and watching the chefs cook from fresh was even better as you know what your getting too. so we saved half for another meal for through the week as a treat for us cause a feast is a feast so thank you for the fast service. be sure to order again when were next in Scarborough :)

Well what a shocking experience. Waited over 1hour 45mins for our order! I rang the shop and she couldn’t even tell me if my order had left the shop. £35 worth of food turned up cold and soggy the rice was all stuck together. Best thing about the order was a fortune cookie. Rang and complained and have given us 50% of our next order.

Ordered a Chinese, food came the chicken balls were soggy and full of grease it’s all you could taste. They forgot the sweet and sour sauce so we rang they said they can send the sauce in 20 minutes. Which the meal would be ruined by then. They said we could have one next time we order (we only order once every 6 or so months) so it was no good. My young son wouldn’t eat his rice and noodles because it was so dry. We asked to speak to the manager to see if there was something that could be done he came on the phone and said “what do you want I’m busy” he was nothing but rude. How he still has a job dealing with the public is beyond me. He argued the toss and put the phone down. So the 25£ Chinese went in the bin. Dry as anything. Not worth a couple of quid. It’s a shame because it’s always been so nice but this isn’t the first time they’ve forgotten stuff. Last time we ordered we got prawn balls instead of chicken and my partner is allergic to prawns. But the manager alone is enough reason to NEVER return.

We waited over 2 hours for our food and was promised a free meal if i ordered again but when i ordered again instead of a free meal i got a small discount. the food is very hit and miss with too much salt in

Food was nice as always. Staff are friendly and the prices are very reasonable compared to other Chinese takeaways in the area. This Is our go to chinese when we are in the mood, we have tried loads of takeaways and this one although isn't the smartest of places, it beats the others for taste, convenience and cost

I went to this Chinese on the 28 of July 2022. Food was good timing, not so fast that it scares you but not a really long wait either, just right. A young lady there who's worked there 6 years bestowed a kindness on me & I really must thank her as although I was trying to put a brave face on I was in quite a lot of pain & feeling quite unwell. She helped me & it really is very much appreciated, thankyou so much. The food was good, it was sweet and sour pork balls and chicken balls and fried rice and chips. All of it was good & chips were crispy decent ones. A very positive experience.

Really unhappy to have discovered I was eating a meat spring roll after ordering veggie. Haven’t eaten meat for over 30 years, disgusting mistake, also partners meal had a king prawn in which is a serious error and could have harmed someone. Won’t be ordering from here again as they clearly have no regard for food safety or customer satisfaction.

Flying Dragon is Just The Best Chinese , Thank You

Just had the char sui mushroom the meat was no more char sui than a slice of ham tough as old boots. Will not order again. We have used the Flying Dragon for at least 20yrs but it's going down hill

Special chow mein is definitely a perfect dish. They do not skimp on ingredients and I have ordered from here many times.

The site seemed to be a bit clunky and the payment mechanism was complicated for me on first use, but it eventually worked and some time later, food arrived and it was delicious.

Been looking for a new Chinese take away after my original changed everything. I absolutely love their noodle boxes! Would always recommend flying dragon now. The staff are really polite, the drivers are lovely, the waiting time is amazing. Flying dragon has become my new regular 😁

The service was very very poor. Waited over 1.5 hours for delivery. The female who aswered tge phone ied to me about the delivergy, was rude & ut the phone down. We wont be using ghese again & have ordered from ghese for years

Shocking service tonight, ordered food to collect and got home to find out the meal was wrong. After 7 phone calls and 3 hours, being told the correct meal would be delivered (and not) They are going to send a driver out to collect the wrong meal and give me a refund. All for £6.80!

Great quality food, good price and we got free prawn crackers and chicken wings when ordered above £25. We ordered chicken noodle and mixed meat veg soups and they where perfect and piping hot, would really recommend. Chicken chow main and duck chow main where delicious. My husband loves the salt and pepper boxes, good price and lovely food inside. Very fast delivery aswell within 30 minutes every time.

Iv been ordering for the last 7 years from this place the money we have put into the this business is shocking .. we put in to good local businesses but for the last 6 months we have never been so disappointed 😞 it been cold ! And an hour and half delivery. I'm so disappointed 😞 we will never spend min here again

Tried this Chinese based on Google reviews. Tried a few places in Scarborough and have been disappointed. Easy to order over the phone. Quick delivery and pipping hot. Food tasted awsome. Will order again.

Ordered from here as another local takeaway missed things from my order and took over 2 hours to deliver. My food from flying dragon was piping hot and delivered within about 30 minutes. A friendly polite voice on the phone too. 5*, will be our regular from now on.

We ordered our takeaway for our first night of week's holiday in Scarborough. My wife ordered king prawns with mushrooms and then became ill during the night and spent next 24 hours being sick. Still not well 3 days later. Thanks for ruining our holidav.

Took 2.5 hours to be delivered, called after 1.5 hours was told just started to cook order. when arrived chips were over cooked no free prawn crackers when spent £25. Very disappointed

First and definitely the last visit.. Ordering service easy online but arrived at the designated time to be told it would be a 'little while' 15 minutes later they were just starting to cook our food! I really wish they hadn't bothered. Tasteless, overcooked (possibly microwaved) awful food. Will defo not be returning. The 'chicken' in the noodle box was disgusting see photo

Great variety of Cantonese and Hong Kong dishes. The staff are always friendly. The food is delicious with very generous portions.

It was awesome the first time I've ordered some food over there but the last time I've been there, I've got everything in a sweet and sour souce, literally everything. It didn't matter if it sichuan or satay or a crispy beef in a OK sauce, and it didn't matter if it's spicy or not, just no difference......disappointed

Great services, crazy cheap, very nice staff, and a LOT of food. We were shocked by the price for the amount of food as well as free prawn crackers and chicken wings. Thought the food was pretty regular for a Chinese takeaway restaurant. All in all a pretty good place.

A great menu choice, will adapt for your preference, quick service would definitely recommend.

Very rude discraceful behaviour from this guy, twice asked for vegetarian spring rolls, twice sent meat as well as numerous parts of meal not correct. luke warm food hardly hot asked for refund and got hung up on continued to call back to resolve this isue and this rude guy just refused to communicate lack of communication ends up in cross contamination... Environmental health will be contacted to check this place out still awaiting my money back for food they did not provide. Live locally in Scarborough. Will not be returning.

And it was sealed in pizza type box Dried food of really low standard Disgrace to Chinese food Salt and pepper box was the name Too late to return on the night. Ughhhhhh! Ordered two meals “salt and pepper box’s” It came out in large pizza type box Cello tape down sides dry ribs and. Slop chips and things. Inside. Told them I didn’t want refund I wanted them to stop selling people. The same Rubbish. I gave them one star for haveing a clean door handle

Best Chinese in Scarborough always lovely service and 1st class food every time

After reading reviews and seeing this was the best rated Chinese in the area we picked this place for our order. I asked for curry sauce instead of sweet and sour with our salt and pepper box to which the lady serving said she was about to ask what sauce I wanted. When we got home the sauce that was in our box was sweet and sour, I would have bought curry sauce as extra if it wasnt going to come with the meal. The food was also quite poor, anything that was meat was overcooked and severely lacking in actual meat. The soft noodles we ordered were quite nice but everything in the salt and pepper box was not.

We had a very tasty and competitively priced takeaway delivered to our accommodation from the Flying Dragon as recommended by our administrative staff. So pleased that we took their advice.

I live locally in a building with antisocial tenants in other flats. The police told me to order food to be delivered, rather than leave the building for my safety. I found the Flying Dragon on line, and was excited by the wide-ranging menu and prices. I ordered a meal for two, planning to stretch the order thru the week. I was told that it would take 35 minutes, but the driver was trying to contact me to find the flat in 15 minutes! Amazing! Yes, some of the food may have possibly been microwaved because it seems impossible that they could prepare and deliver the wide selection so quickly. BUT! the prawn crackers and deep-fried spring rolls and wontons seemed to be freshly fried to me because they were so crispy and delicious! I found the noodle box and other items to be tasty, and will order from them whenever I crave Chinese! Also, the woman who took my order and later phoned when the delivery man could not find the building took her time to stay on the line, listening when I was being threatened by the other tenants in the building, providing a wonderful empathy and The Flying Dragon has a Flying Angel taking your order!

Food not even freshly cooked stone cold paid good money for items that weren’t there too be told we didn’t Order it, came to six pound extra with missing items delivery driver got asked for a receipt and he said he didn’t have one, didn’t even take that long to deliver sent us chicken that tasted off needs closing down.

After ordering from here multiple times in last 3 months I was very happy, but last week I ordered a set meal, it was delivered in under 15mins which I thought was a tad fast, food was clearly microwaved. Then after calling up for delivery today.. apparently I have an old menu and prices drastically jumped up.. an old menu which was not out of date when I collected it from the premises 2 weeks ago!! Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to be overcharged for a microwaved dinner

Ordered at 7.30 for daughters birthday meal,3 phone calls later it turned up at 9 stone cold and one upset child because her order was wrong.got offered a measly 10 percent off next order.always been happy before but will go elsewhere next time

We use the flying dragon regularly and find the food lovely and the prices are fair, they are well located on castle road.

Ordered sat night just to try the place and omg food tasted awful.couldnt eat much of it and the next day i became very ill.day 2 after eating this food i am still very sick with terrible tummy cramps.do not eat from this takeaway or do so at your own risk!!

We had prawn toast, spare ribs and chicken chow mien and were very impressed with the food and the service. Would recommend to anyone.

We had a takeaway for 4 people and it would have fed 6 easily, there was too much food, however not all of it was up to standard especially the pork balls. I would not go there again.

Been ordering from here for years no problems however tonight's meal has completely put me off using this takeaway again... the beef was chewy and tasteless and the tomato sauce was so thin it may as well not existed.
