Flourish Craft Bakery in Watford

An amazing bakery. And the cafe was completely packed. Buzzing place, very good sourdough bread, and some nice but pricey pastries. Will def go again for the bread.

If you’re in or around Watford, this is the place for breakfast/brunch. I ordered the sourdough with fried eggs, streaky bacon with the beans and it was absolutely divine! My husband had the harissa chicken bap which he would not stop raving about the whole day, he loved it that much. We also ordered some desserts/pastries to take home which were super delicious. You can actually see parts of the kitchen where you can see the baking and cooking of the food. This is such a lovely place. We will now be regulars! This place is hidden away in an industrial estate but make no judgements, it’s a hidden gem. If you’re going on a weekend, be prepared to queue but deffo worth the wait. 👏

Really good selection of food, freshly made on site. Not the cheapest, but generous portions and always enjoy the food and coffee there.

They messed up my cake order but I am not even mad- the coffee is great, the bakery delicious and very comfortable seating area, good chairs and non-flimsy tables.

A lovely place to grab a coffee or bite to eat. It was our first visit and we were impressed. It took a while for them to provide us with a high chair but otherwise great! It is hidden away in an industrial estate and they have their own bakery!!! I love trying new places and I will most definitely visit again when I get the chance 🙂. If I still lived in the area, I think I would be a regular! 😉

An unassuming bakery tucked away behind industrial buildings, upon entry you’re greeted with a buzz of activity and good food. The staff here are friendly and seating is abundant, however this place is very popular so come early if you don’t want to wait for a while. Everything is great here, the Shakshouka and Reubens Sandwich being must haves here, along with a croissant and coffee. Definitely come here if you’re in the area.

Went here with some friends the other day and they don't accept cash! Having an option to pay by cash is freedom of choice which has been taken away!...Some folk like to pay by cash!

Went there for a breakfast around 10h30 and highly recommend. Had the shashuska and it was so tasty and rich and came with the biggest bread slides. Delicious coffee as well

This is a bit unusual because it's on an industrial estate, but the food, drink, service and atmosphere are excellent.

Breakfast for Mrs and myself after the school drop off. Opens at 8am so perfect timing. Ordered poached eggs on sourdough with crispy bacon + poached eggs with avocado. Tea and coffee. The sourdough bread of course is lovely. Both dishes were well presented and very tasty. Enjoy watching the team in the bakery working through the windows making all the sweet treats.

Love this place: I discovered it completely by chance whilst waiting for my car to be serviced and MOT'd by the local mechanic just up the road. Freshly baked bread, outdoor seating, great coffee and fab brunch/lunch menu. It can get busy, meaning possible queues and service can be a little bit slower, so patience is helpful. I so hope Flourish flourishes and grows - we need more places like this! :-)

Lovely place and very friendly staff. We had some really nice cake and coffee on this occasion, but we'll be heading back to have lunch there soon.

This place is an absolute find.Tucked away in an unassuming industrial estate, you wouldn't believe the amazing dining experience they provide. Perfect for any occasion from a family breakfast to a cheeky daytime date or a girlie catch-up; i really enjoyed dining at Flourish Craft Bakery. You cannot go wrong with any choice from the menu but I have to say that the HOT BISCOFF drink is heavenly. I could have downed multiple. It does get busy but the friendly staff manage the demand well. I was was seated quickly and our food arrived shortly after ordering. Thank you Flourish, see you again soon.

Homemade rustic bread & amazing cakes, delicious breakfast

Great spot! Really recommend the Shakshuka. Always a buzzing atmosphere with people around. Plenty of inside and outside seating - worth a visit!

Nice products and quality from bakery . The restaurant quality is average, which is a little of a let down as prices are premium. But if i could pick faults in food, not really. Bakery products, they are great. Service is not amazing.

Actually went back to flourish. I’ve not been there in a few months. Coffee and the croissant were great, but this time around why am I being asked to give a tip on the credit card machine? This is not America and it now makes me think that you’re not paying your staff correctly, and why should I have to make up the windfall? The craziest thing I went to the counter and paid myself so what am I tipping for and why.

Best Reuben Sandwich ever. Toasted bread, crispy bacon, brisket cheese burger sauce pickles oozing everywhere, this is a delicious sandwich, congratulations flourish!

Best place in Watford for breakfast or lunch. Lots of really tasty options on the menu. Also, some super tasty bakery treats to take away.

Nice coffee and good food. Poor service due to the blond waitress constantly coughing and sneezing into her her hands without washing it on several occasions. Handling food, coffee or packaging cookies straight after is unacceptable. Poor hygiene standards.

Two English Breakfast Teas and Toast with butter and jam for two people cost just under £16!!!!! Two slices of Sourdough bread very slightly toasted with butter arrived on one plate. We advised we had ordered toast for two people and jam aswell. The jam arrived, so we ate one slice each. Reminded our waitress we had ordered toast for two people. Another two slices of warm bread arrived, had to ask for butter! Charge for one slice of warm bread with jam £3.50 extra charge of £1.50 for the other slice! Absolutely disgusting. Check out the new venue round the corner …….. SOUL SURVIVOR !!!! 5-7 Greycaine Rd. Will never go to Flourish again!

What an Amazing Find!! I was bought here for lunch for a business meeting. First of all I was shocked as to how busy it was as its in the middle of Nowhere on a Trading Estate .. what can I say... I had the Bubble & Squeak and it was the best I've ever had! .... This is a MUST visit to any that is in the area.

Not a great take away experience I'm afraid. My partner drove a long way to get some Sourdough for a dinner party this evening. The hot sliced loaf had been placed in a clear plastic bag and and then tied tightly. The hot bread was ruined by the time it arrived home, there was so much moisture in the bag. For an Artisan bakery, I would have expected better. A waste of time and money when I have eaten their delicious Sourdough in a Fitzrovia restaurant (so I know it is excellent!). The bakewell tarts however were wrapped beautifully in paper.

Interesting & popular mid-size café, weirdly on the edge of an industrial estate, with on-premise bakery so you can't get fresher bakery products. Excellent selection of cakes, pastries and breakfasts with fair coffee at reasonable prices. Very good service from friendly staff. Why go to anemic chains like Costa when there are much better experiences like this?

This establishment has the potential to be amazing but the service is appalling. Sat for 15minutes with children's high chairs being forced though gaps, hitting my seat but ignored by every waiter on duty. I eventually waved down someone and ordered a coffee which arrived soon after but no tea spoon provided so used a fork. Then ordered my breakfast again by waving someone down. This again arrived pretty quickly but both poached eggs were undercooked and no butter, margerine on toast so sent them back. A fresh. Breakfast arrived 5 minutes later again without butter on toast but very tasty. When I ordered a fresh cup if coffee and it arrived a few short minutes later, no tea spoon was provided or offered. Since the early days of Jamie Oliver wealiding his salt grinder on the Naked Chef, Table Salt has become unfashionable but it exists for a reason, chewing on lumps of sea salt isn't desirable. Sea salt and grinders are for food prep not intended as a condement. Flourish has the opportunity to be amazing, the food is top notch, the ambiance of the restaurant is thriving and enticing but maybe due to the age of the staff lacks the professional courtesy and polish needed for it to achieve it's potential.

Went today with my family for first time eating in (grup of 3) the stuff are lovely food is fresh and delicious. We ordered Rueben sandwiches . In this unexpected location we went today for coffee and cake. The flat whites were delicious. I had a slice of carrot cake, which was a generous portion and was very tasty. We also had a pain au raisin, which was good, with plenty of raisins. We sat outside in the sun, but there is also lots of seating inside. Very friendly staff and fast service. No available WiFi though, which was unfortunate for me.

I'm very disappointed by this bakery, unfortunately. It has a lot of variety of pastries and breads, but when we got home, we found the croissants and pastries to be quite stale.

Great way to start a Sunday - food is fresh and delicious. We also bought some sourdough bread and cakes to take away. Will definitely I come back when we return to Watford. Thanks to all the staff who were really friendly and a big shout out to Alex who recommended that we visit.

Very popular, obviously their variety of fresh bread being a big plus. Polite, staff, acceptable prices for the days we live in, tasty food. A bit if confusion when is very busy, but is nothing to be put off

Nice cafe attached to an artisan bakery. We bought nice bread (we hope - it looks good, but we haven't tried it yet) and had brunch… Been there again recently (September 2023) - great atmosphere and good bread.

Everything looks amazing there. However, the croissants were a bit dry and stale. Very nice and good variety of sourdough bread, however, cut into very thin slices when asked to be sliced. The cafe looks very nice, lots of space in and outside. Very nice decor. Staff nice.

Absolutely delicious flat white and poached eggs. Would highly recommend and comfortable indoor seating.

The setting is nice, spacious, clean. Service was good to start with, order taken quickly. Food order arrived very quickly. Had two poached eggs on toast, side of bacon. Would have preferred to have a slice of toast per egg, but they came on one. Was then asked if i would like butter, again, call me old fashioned, but toast should be buttered before stuff is put on it… bacon should be noted is back bacon and smoked. Which i wouldnt have ordered. So my drinks, fresh orange and a black coffee. My food arrived before my drinks, i had ate my food and still no drinks…. Had to ask where the drinks were…. Then they were put through again, and i finally got the drinks. Service slow at the till Dont know if i would return.

Underwhelmed On an industrial estate so parking on a bank holiday not an issue No full English available but can build your own presumably Outside chairs wobbled and weren't clean 2 eggs come on 1 slice of un- buttered bread Beans were nice Ploughman's very strange It looks like they are very proud of their artisan bakery and they certainly were busy but at the prices (£2.75 for 1 small sausage) in my opinion should try harder to.

Well worth diverting off my journey for. It may be in an industrial park but when you step through the door it's a big wow! To your right is an array of spectacular cakes, breads and beautiful pastries, all made on site. The smell of good breads and coffee (and it was very good) was divine. I sat by one of the windows looking into the kitchen to watch the pastry chefs at work; fascinating to see; particularly the enormous bowl of dark, milk and white chocolate buttons, fruits and swathes of pastry being cut, a trolley of large chocolate and cream pastries passing by......heaven! A warm welcome from the staff who helped me select from an impossible choice!! Lucky lucky Watford! p.s. I parked around the corner at Bookers car park, no problem!

Came today for the first time, The food was nice and really tasty we all enjoyed our food but my god, it’s so overpriced. Scrambled egg on toast - I slice of bread with 3 eggs was £7.00 - my husband had a cooked breakfast which you can’t order as a meal, you have to order egg on toast and add extras so one sausage / 1 bit of bacon / 3 bits of halloumi / beans was about £18 - As I say the food is really tasty but way too expensive for what you get. We dealt with about 3 different members of staff, all were really friendly and efficient. So 2 sandwiches / 1 scrambled egg on toast / 1 full English snd 2 coffees / 1 coke / 1 milkshake was £53!!!

We love the vegan Oreo cake-have ordered it multiple times and have never been disappointed. Even non- vegans thoroughly enjoyed it. Their sourdough is tasty albeit expensive compared with another craft bakery I go to. The vegan Biscoff cake is way to sweet. The cookies are awful. The service is hit and miss.

We have decided to have a bit of lunch with family, we are aware of parking issues in the area and walked. When we arrived a male staff member offered to bring us menus and disappeared, after considerable amount of time my husband decided to go get the menus, the staff at the till didn't seem to know where they were but eventually found them. Nobody came to take our order and children were getting hungry, so I so I went to order by the till. The lovely girl suggested she comes to take order by the table but I said that's ok, let's just put it through. I'm glad I did that because it turned out someone made a mistake and there was already an open order on our table, she consulted her colleague, I thought they resolved it and the lovely young lady took my order. To avoid further hassle (by then even though place wasn't full quite a few tables were getting zero attention) I paid straight away. Before our food arrived the same male staff came to our table with a question of what we ordered, I tried to explain there was a mistake found on the till, but he clearly wasn't interested. Our food arrived but no drinks, asked again, drinks arrived but water never did. When we were about to leave the male staff member stopped my husband with the wrong bill, thankfully he got attention of the lady that took my payment. We were having a wonderful day off as a family and were in a good mood, not so good after. Not once an apology was offered. Food is still decent though. Compliments to the chef. Real shame about the culture.

Was a disappointing visit. The food was good in the main. The bread was as always amazing but despite asking a couple of times our drinks arrived 10 minutes after the food. The service always seems to be poor. While friendly no one seems to coordinate it. Certainly no one ever checks in with customers to check all is good

A hidden gem in Watford area. Visited first time today with friends and amazingly surprised with the quality of food and freshly baked bakery products. There are plenty of breakfast options including vegetarian and meat ones. They also prepare fresh cakes on site also you can see the staff preparing those cakes which is quite unique experience. We visited on Saturday so it was quite busy to park and wait for sitting. Highly recommended for breakfast and bakery items.

This was my first visir to Flourish Bakery. They had a BBQ for Monday bank hols. The burger was delicious, the salad very tasty. I also bought some decaf beans & big loaf of sourdough bread. I am French, my standard in terms of bread is pretty high. This was excellent! Lovely staff too. Higly recommended!

Honestly didn’t even step in the door. The parking is an absolute nightmare & so off putting. Drove around and waited for ages for a space but ended up leaving. Doesn’t help when inconsiderate people who park like idiots over 2 spaces

Great place to sit or get takeaway. Food is fantastic and so fresh! Coffee and drinks are amazing too. The staff are so friendly and always look after you. I love coming here to dine or to get a takeaway! I certainly recommend the brownies and cookies!

This place was incredible. The best bread and pastries I've had in years. Generous breakfasts too. Definitely coming back and we live far! Don't be dissuaded by the industrial looking area. We initially thought Google maps had brought us to the wrong place, but very glad we kept going.

We've visited here a few times and every time we've been, it's been delicious. The ham and cheese toasted sandwich was cooked perfectly. Lots of filling with lovely melted cheese. There was a new pastry this time which we tried as well - a chocolate and cream one. So delicious! We got a slice of biscoff cake this time too - usually it's sold out. We can see why - it's so tasty! Definitely worth a visit!

Best bakery and eatery in Watford, great for brunch or just a coffee order. They are artisan bakers and the quality of their products is outstanding. Amazing cakes for very reasonable prices.

Iconic. The vegan selection is so delicious and I never feel like I’m missing out because I don’t eat dairy/eggs etc. There’s always different options and flavours to try for both brownies and cupcakes. Literally my weekly treat, majorly addictive.

Amazing staff and make a mean mocha

A few years I would have given a 5stars rating. This place has become a total shamble with teenage staff that cannot be bothered to learn the products they sell or have any customer service skills. You get better service at Greggs! Today there was another issue not to serve customers and waste all their products. They decided to close the bakery because systems were down and no one (including the manager!) had the price list. This place is a joke and I hope the owners will look into it seriously.

Fifteen of us turned up on Mothers’ Day morning. No complaints from the Flourish team. Excellent service with a smile and fabulous food. Thank you team Flourish. You are amazing.
