Popped into the coffee shop for quick bite to eat. As we sat down and were greeted by incompetent staff, and were put off by the uninspired decor and menu, we decided to just have a coffee and some cake. Ordered up at the bar, as even though there were only 3 tables seated and 3 staff working, no one had greeted us. Asked what the freshly made cakes were, to be told it’s “orange and something, I can’t remember...” (ok very helpful!!!). We ordered the “orange and something” cake, along with 2 coffees. Cakes were brought over to the table by a young waitress, with the other member of staff shouting from the coffee machine to the waitress “no don’t take the cakes before the coffees!!”, with the young waitress looking embarrassed and awkwardly apologising to us. She then brought our coffees over, not knowing what they were, saying here is your drink not sure which one this one is. Bless the young waitress, it was clearly her first day/week so not her fault, but clearly had no training. It may just be a coffee shop, but at least give the girl some understanding of how to do her job, how the place works, and something about customer service!! A customer then walked in and asked the lady behind the counter what food they did, and she said it’s all in the menu (note not passing him anything), he looked unimpressed, for the waitress to say menus are on the tables. The lady then asked the young waitress to get a couple of paninis from the freezer in the shed, oooo sounds appetising! Glad we didn’t order any more food!! Back to the cake - well it’s Friday and this cake was clearly made a week ago, it was rock hard and dry as anything. I couldn’t eat it. 2 coffees and cake came to just under £12, a joke for horrendous service, and awful food. You won’t get me going back that’s for sure!

Popped in for coffee and cake. There is seating outside on the street, which is good for smokers or during the summer. Inside is a little cramped, but there is more seating around the back. The waiter and waitress were both very friendly. The coffee was nice, as was the millionaire shortbread. The chocolate cake was really light and fluffy, very nice. Very nice cafe and good choice of food. Not the cheapest, but reasonable. Definitely will return.

Really excellent coffee and cakes plus free WiFi too. Will definitely keep returning to flitch coffee.

To day 17th February my husband and I visited your coffee shop. We went inside and ordered on tea a coffee and a toasted bun. We told the young lady we would be sitting outside. She said no problem I'll bring it out. After about 25 mins I popped in to ask where our drinks etc were.l she said sorry I completely forgot you!!! Bearing in mind we were the only ones sitting outside and only a couple of customers inside I was amazed. We couldn't wait as we had a car parking ticket about to expire. All I can say is at this rate you won't have many returning customers.

We were cycling for the day on the former flitch railway line Braintree to Bishops Stortford. While cycling through Great Dunmow we came across this coffee shop. For a very welcomed break. Nice coffee and toasted tea cake, sat outside on the tables outside the coffee shop in the sun. Very nice.

We received a warm welcome on our arrival, served immediately & noticed that the staff greet their regulars by name, which says a lot for this small but lovely café. My wife & i had piping hot decaffeinated coffee together with a large slice of ginger cake & i opted for the chocolate cake, both of which were so fresh. We also noticed that the sandwiches are made to order and looked so tempting that we may give them a try next time we visit. Another plus for this small café is that there are a few small tables outside for when the weather is warmer. We would definitely recommend this café for a coffee & snack.

We were early and wondered around the town and found this little coffee shop so we popped in it was pleasant. We had latte, fruit tea and normal tea. Reasonably price and service was good and staff were friendly

When looking for Little Dunmow, we stoped in Great Dunmow for a bit of orientation, and a leg stretch. The first impression of the town is the number of coffee shops, cafe, so this place had to stand out. The attaction was a cushion on the chairs outside - this was a good choice Friendly staff, coffees, teas and everything else seems to be made to order Good coffee

Occasionally "pop in" for coffee and very delicious slice of cake. Very tasty and very good and pleasant service. Deserves its very good reputation.

Popped in for a quick coffee after shopping. Nice little place. Ordered a latte but it wasn't very hot. The young ladies serving were nicely turned out but can't say the same for the men working in there.

Always receive a welcome when you arrive and staff greet regulars by name, which is a nice personal touch. Service, food & drink is fine.

Fuimos a comer después de leer las buenas críticas en TripAdvisor y no nos decepcionó. El personal fue amable, atento y servicial, y la comida era deliciosa y una buena relación calidad-precio. Mis niños (entre 7 y 2) me encantó que la leche llegó en una botella, y el personal me proporcionó una fuerte para mí para preparar el almuerzo mi hijo de 2 años no podía soportar. Sin duda recomiendo una visita si está de paso.

Metimos en un poco rápido de almuerzo, sándwiches frescos (un montón de opción) y el café, agradable y relajante visita para un almuerzo rápido!

Luckily, we spotted Flitch Coffee while wandering Great Dunmow High Street with tired legs after walking round this picturesque town. Attractive shop, warm & friendly welcome, professional, efficient service and lovely coffee served at our table outside in the sun. A great place to stop. Thanks!

The lady serving was very welcoming and happy to help us with some directions as we were visitors to the town. Coffee was very tasty and lovely and hot. Premises were lovely and clean. The prepared food that we could see looked inviting.
