What a shame it's gone. Delicious and reasonably healthy alternative to the usual takeaways and something a little different. It was a great addition to Bexley village.

Where do I begin?! Firstly I would like to say the meatball were good. 2 people 2 courses 1st course Harissa king prawn( tiny hard bullets) and when questioned about the king prawns the chef (30 yrs experience) brought out the lid off a tub of prawns in brine. Should of left after that but no stayed for our main of lamb tagine which was very fatty and tasteless and a mixed grill of the most dry over cooked meat I have ever had there was less meat than what you would get from a small kebab from your local kebab shop . So disappointed I would of rather had a kebab from my local kebab shop. £60.00 Bill -£20 discount what a waste of money! What a waste of time and petrol. Gutted!!!

The food tasted lovely, couldn't fault it. The delivery was quick, couldn't fault that either. But it definetly wasn't value for money. Very small portions, spent £30 but it wasn't enough for two. Would have got a lot more if we'd ordered Chinese. A shame as the quality was very good

Gracias!

Not eaten in the restaurant before but wanted to try and saw a notice on the window that takeaway was now available .We tried the set menu for 2 people which consisted of a cold starter...bread, hummus, falafel, olives etc. All really tasty and the portion of bread given was absolutely huge. We tried 2 different mains ....the chicken tagine and the lamb tagine , both served with plenty of couscous. Both dishes were really tasty with lots of flavour and big chunks of meat. Portion sizes were again excellent. The dessert was baklava, 4 different types , again very tasty and fresh. You also get a bottle of house wine within the deal aswell.I'd definitely have it again and will be trying the restaurant itself very soon

On first entry this restaurant seems short of space but quaint and a quirky atmosphere (enjoyed the ambiance with music.) The hostess/server was very friendly and polite, food arriving hot and within good time frame. We chose a pick of starters and enjoyed them all, my friend ordered a chicken tagine saying he enjoyed it, although he thought it might have more of a lemon flavour but this by no means took away from the meal. I ordered chicken brochette which I thoroughly enjoyed. The highlight for me was the baklava-i would return. For supporting our local business and somewhere different to be I recommend this restaurant. I hear there's a psychic on Wednesdays.

My first visit to this restaurant and was not impressed. There's nothing worse than walking into a retaurant and not being greeted staight away. Eventually I was shown my table and couldn't believe that in such a small place we wwere sat right next to the only other people in there. You could say it was a very intimate setting! Waitress was nice and friendly but this didn't make up for the food. Drinks we ordered were not available and had to change order. Chicken in the tagine was very dry and overcooked and felt like it had been nuked in the microwave for too long. Cous cous very bland with no seasoning. I thought things might get better with the dessert, but was offered the same menu that you get in your normal Chinese/Indian of standard ice creams etc. straight out of the freezer. Not very Moroccan. To top it all when we came to pay they said they would not accept credit card as the machine was broken. I had to go out in the rain to get money. Such a shame to have a restaurant like this locally and to find it is of such poor standard.Toilets and floors dirty.

Wanted to try somewhere different as our first choice (Assos in Crayford) is shut for their annual holibobs). Turned up early and had to wait for restaurant to open. We were the only couple present. Restaurant is quirky and a little tired. Beer choices limited to three of which one was unavailable. Food was good (starters in particular were excellent) and service was very courteous and pleasant. However, it was not revealed until I was about to pay that "the card machine is broken" so only cash would be accepted. I was swiftly directed to a cash machine round the corner. I only complied as the waitress had been so pleasant throughout but this should have been pointed out before we ate, not after. Moreover, on reading reviews on our return home I discover that their card machine has been "broken" since 2014! Now I don't have an issue with cash only restaurants. Given the credit card company mark up I'm surprised that more small family enterprises do not adopt this practise. What I do have an issue with is being taken for a sucker. If you are cash only, say so openly and overtly to the customer at the point of entry, don't give them some cock and bull story after they have eaten. It's a shame as the rest of our experience was such that we would have returned ourselves and recommended to others but we will not now be doing so.

I have driven past this restaurant regularly and was looking forward to trying it so booked with friends on a Thursday night. We was the only people to dine in there the whole evening. Lots of choice on the menu starters were nice but the main meals when served was very disappointing, 2 mixed grills ordered and 1 chicken tagine meat was very dry in all the dishes mixed grill was served with cous cous rather then basmati rice as advertised on their menu which was not suitable for one of our diners. We all left over half of our meals. We decided to try the baklava for deserts again this was left as they were too hard to eat. After a disappointing meal we was ready to leave but found when we went to pay they did not take card to pay for the very overpriced bill so had to go to a cash point to be able to pay!! And to top it off they added a service charge which I personally prefer to choose to pay rather then it being forced upon me.We all agreed we would not be returning!!

I've eaten here quite a few times now, and am never disappointed. The food is delicious, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. My particular favourite is the Moroccan meatballs, which never disappoint. The chef is often around to have a quick chat and you can tell he takes pride in his cooking and the restaurant and welcomes customer feedback. The restaurant itself is quite small so it's always best to book your table to ensure you get in. They also have themed nights, such as tarot nights for a fixed price which also includes your meal, so it's good to check their website regarding what's on. I would say it's best suited for couples or adult families for a meal, rather than young children/babies.

Second visit, with a four year gap in between. Both times food was poor, service lacking and prices well above what they should be. I wouldn't normally write such a bad review but I'm just baffled that this place is still in business. It feels like you are being served in someone's front room. Not in that good way like warm friendly cosy or authentic but in that way like it's really uncomfortable because you can't tell your mates mum that her tagine is rubbish. I get the distinct feeling that a lot of the food is supermarket packaged stuff heated up. Lamb tagine had none of the fruit described in the menu, the chicken and olive tagine had chicken and ONE olive. Half the mezze didn't arrive and the server had to check if it was meant to have some of the stuff mentioned on the menu. Which seems weird given they serve the same mezze every night year after year and the same people have worked there for years. Apart from that it was great!

3 of us had dinner here and found it to be a charming place - intimate, nicely decorated with very pleasant, helpful staff. The menu isn't vast but not bad. We each had a different dish - lamb, chicken and vegetable tagine & we all enjoyed it, however, the veg tagine was a tad too sweet for my taste. We opted for the 2 course set menu for £15.95, which included a mezze starter plus the main course. The starter (Moroccan style houmous, falafel, aubergine chutney, olive tapenade, yoghurt & cucumber dip, tabouleh cous cous salad, served with bread) was the best part of the meal - very tasty!

We have seen this restaurant from the outside often when passing by, and it is very modest. We were looking for somewhere different for an anniversary meal and decided to give this a try - and are we glad we did! It's quite tiny inside, but has a great atmosphere. The staff welcomed us royally, and were very helpful and attentive throughout. We had the set menu. This started with a mezzo of traditional flavours accompanied by really fresh and lovely bread. We both followed this with the lamb tagine, which was absolutely delicious (chicken and vegetarian versions are also on the menu). Finally we just had one portion of baklava, as we were too full for one each. This was all washed down with a very nice bottle of red wine, and then a coffee and a mint tea. The bill came to £61, which seemed quite reasonable for what we had.Overall this was a great meal in a hidden little gem of a restaurant. We would recommend this to anyone who has a taste for Moroccan food.

This came with some lovely Mediterranean bread. We followed this with a halloumi salad for my partner and I had the chicken brochettes. A couple of beers and glasses of cold Sauvignon blanc. We were too full to have dessert, but people on the table next to us had the baklava with some Morrocan tea, and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are several problems with this place, but I will start with the food. Firstly, having been here several times (I just want this place to prove me wrong) they never seem to have the ingredients for a full menu. Lots of things seem to be met with "sorry we have run out" (never a good start)- and I have eaten here very early in the evening, how could this be?. Secondly, their portion sizes are all wrong. Some starters come up bigger than you think they should be, and then this is swiftly followed by a minuscule tagine with barely any meat in, I would not take my partner here for sure. The flavors are simply "OK" but for the price, which is pretty expensive considering, the dishes must be more filling. Also, the couscous could not be blander,i.e. they make no attempt to put any herbs or onion through it to give it any oomph. I expect better, I do better at home myself! This is the kind of restaurant you want to love and support, but it gives the impression that they are on the brink of closure, running down their fridge. We also found ourselves asking for bread to go with our dips, and then being questioned as though it was an odd request - and I don't mean to sound petty, but they make no attempt to replenish napkins between courses, this I find extremely poor. All of this aside, they themselves look as though they are giving up, a smile or two would not go amiss, but instead they just seem worn down and pretty much like they are giving up.BUT, taking food and service out of the equation, my absolute bug bear is that their child is always there, sometimes sleeping in the back room, waiting for the last customer to leave, so they can shut shop. This is not the place to have children, it can make you feel very guilty, when you know your own children were tucked up in bed, soundly, hours ago. I hope the owners take note of these comments and take steps to improve service and operations I really do.

Been here twice for lunch, once during the week and once on Saturday 30th May. Both times the place was quiet which was great for chatting. The Saturday occasion was with my girlfriend. The lady who I believe is the partner helped us out with a wine, we both like full bodied and she suggested the Moroccan wine which was a nice change. We opted for the Set Lunch Menu, had the meze to start for both of us. Admittedly for such a big eater it wasn't huge. I've had better Tabbouleh in London, but it was fresh. I would've preferred the cous cous to have been a bit more exciting. I thought the olives were poor quality but the falafel and the other dips were nice and definitely were homemade. So a bit mixed.I had the Lamb tagine, my partner asked for the veggie option. I was happy with the flavours of the dish, but wasn't enough for me. The cous cous again was bland but the main helped the taste of it. The veggie option was very tasty.Service was good, very informative with the wine and it was quick. Well it had to be as we were the only ones in there. Interior and atmosphere was nice and relaxing provided by the music. I would like to give it a try at night to see how things are.

My partner and I went to Flavours of Morocco on a Tuesday evening at 7pm. It's an intimate restaurant and there was only one other couple in there. I can imagine it's a bit chaotic when it's very busy. We shared the Briouwates (spinach and feta in pastry) with olives and bread and they were delicious. Both my partner and I had the chicken tagine for main - we had to send his back for more olives (it said it had olives in and there were none in his but loads in mine). They took it back no question and returned with a pile of olives on it. The mains were relatively small portions (after being told they were big, we were a bit surprised), but with couscous on the side it was actually the perfect amount. We have a habit of completely gorging ourselves when we go out for dinner so it was nice to actually have a normal sized portion. In addition to the starter and pud - we had a nice creme brulee - the portion sizes were perfect. Overall it was a delicious experience. The menu is simple and it does what it says on the tin. The ambience was very nice, I even asked what the CD they had on was because it was great. The waiter was very attentive and met all our needs. We saved 50% with a tastecard which meant it was an absolute bargain, but even without it it would only have been about £20 per person, which for 3 courses and a glass of wine can't be sniffed at.It felt good to support a local restaurant than go to a chain. I'd definitely go back but in a few months time - as I said the menu is simple and there isn't that much choice. Nothing jumped out at me like 'ooh I must come again so I can try this'.If you've not been before I'd recommend it.

We were a small table of 3 on a Wednesday Psychic night. Food was ok but not nice enough to go back, starter was nice, main was basic, very average, we didn't even get offered the deserts of our three course set menu so can't comment on desert by the time the psychic got round to seeing us it was gone 11pm and too late to ask the waitress. Service in this place is awful we had to continuously ask for drinks and fresh cutlery, the waitress was shocking, bumping into chairs, dropping things, forgetting everything, chewing gum and basically not cut out for the job. Whilst we were still waiting for our psychic readings they started sweeping up listening to their iPhones messing around amongst themselves. There was a strong smell or tobacco as cigarettes were being smoked coming from the kitchen area. Psychics were ok, one only did tarot the other also a clairvoyant who was much better but none of us were blown away. We won't be returning and owners may wish to change the name of the night to Tarot Night and certainly give the waitress some training?

Unreliable service, inconsistent communication, and just generally not worth a visit. We had their takeaway once - it was good. Thought we should visit the restaurant but have been repeatedly disappointed.

Genuine Moroccan food, with excellent mezes. Typical service with little finesse, which is true for the whole of Morocco. Well worth a visit

We visited this restuarant on a Saturday night at 7.30pm and it was full. Made a real change to go somewhere a little bit quirky, and the food didn't disappoint. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the price was reasonable as well, will definitely return soon.

We had been told about this restaurant by friends. I am pleased to say it lived up to all that was said about it.We had booked for a table for Saturday night and were greeted by a lovely waitress, It is quite a cosy and intimate place, We were shown to our table and the first thing told was that the card machine was not working and that they would only accept cash. Not a good start, but after travelling from up from Sevenoaks we decided that it wasn't a major problem. Our first drink and starters were served promtly. The mezze starters were beautiful, all served with plenty of fresh warm moroccan bread. The main dished taht follwed were just as good and would say just as good if not better than our recent visit to Souk Medina in London. The lamb tagine was the stand out dish and very well spiced, seasoned and presented.Service was not 100% but was excusable with such lovely food. We will definitely be back soon and will be recommending it to all that we can. Well done Flavours Of Morocco, a lovely night out.

What we ate was ok but nothing special compared to other Moroccan meals we have had. I probably would have enjoyed it more if we had actually received what we ordered. There was no tahini as promised on the menu to accompany our meal, instead a fruit chutney and yoghurt. It also said it would come with bread but it actually came with cous cous. As we wanted cous cous we ordered it as a side so we ended up with loads of the stuff and wouldn't have bothered if the menu explained the dish properly. I think the waitress should also have mentioned that it would come with cous cous to save us ordering more. The service needs improving although again it was ok. The waiter didn't offer us to try our wine and just started pouring the bottle out. The food was just sort of plonked down on the table without introducing the dish or saying that they hoped we enjoy it. They just said "here's your main courses" and then walked off. I ordered something on the menu but didn't know how it was pronounced and the waitress just shrugged and giggled at me.Their card machine wasn't working which is fair enough but we got there before a lot of the other diners and noticed that each table wasn't told that they would need to pay cash until somewhat conveniently after they had ordered. People should be told before they take their table as some people might want to pay on credit. However, all that said and done its a quaint little place and the food was nice enough. It was just all the small little things that if they improved would make it much better.I wouldn't rush back but wouldn't rule out going back either if we got bored of the itslian.

After a busy day my partner decided he would book up a spontaneous meal out, and a great choice he made in Flavours of Morocco! Tasty authentic food, really friendly waiter and a cosy setting. We had a mezze to share starter with a variety of selected dishes including the Moroccan meatballs, falafel, haloumi, dips and warm rustic bread. Mains were perfectly cooked and nice refreshing deserts to finish.Looking forward to our next visit soon.

Wow! We booked a table for three people for an evening meal on a Sunday. Although the restaurant was quiet, the female waiting staff was welcoming, the lighting in the restaurant creates a lovely ambiance and the food was amazing. We eat out regularly and this is by far the best restaurant we have visited for a while; the food tasted fresh, the mixed platter starter and in particular the meatballs were really flavoursome, the lamb in the tagine was tender, the vegetable moussaka was pretty much perfect, all in all a fabulous meal had by all. I will definitely be recommending this to friends and family, something we rarely do.

We booked a table for 12.30 for 2 people, on arrival at the restaurant there was no one to be seen - after waiting 5 minutes we called out and a man finally came out of the kitchen - he made no apology for not being available on our arrival. He asked us where we wanted to sit and we chose a table in the back bit of the restaurant. He then left us alone, I had to call him again and ask for a menu and a drink - he kept disappearing into the kitchen. When he reappeared we told him we were ready to order, we ordered 2 starters and 2 main meals - he never once offered any assistance or explained the set menu or anything After 10 minutes he brought our starters out, we had ordered fresh bread with balsamic vinegar, olive oil and olives and a portion of hummus. He said if we needed anything we should call him as he would be in the kitchen! The bread he had given us may have been fresh but it was very burnt, there was no bread or anything given with the portion of hummus and there was no balsamic vinegar or olive oil in sight. My partner and I agreed that we did not want to eat the starters we were given as it was so poor and really the service was non existent. We went to the kitchen door and told the man we would be leaving as we were so disappointed with everything. He just said "sorry" but offered no explanation such as being short staffed or anything. I think it must have been the Moroccan chefs day off! - We are so disappointed with thus restaurant and would never return.

When I went in the menu was different from menu on their website, none of what i liked the sound of on the website I could have. The waitress had no idea what was going on which made it awkward. I had my drink taken from me when there was clearly still some in there. Food was good but misleading web site, awkward unfriendly service

Went here at the end of November with a group of friends, there was 14 of us and unfortunately when we arrived we were on a table of 10 and one of 4, when we booked we were not told we would have to sit separately, which obviously was not what we wanted. Service was really slow considering the starters do not involve any cooking, there was no choice, main was a choice between veg, lamb or chicken tangine, and was very small so although the set price seems reasonable I would not say it was value for money. It's a pity as there was a good atmosphere and the drinks were served quickly, but think they need more help in the kitchen.

At night, the desert can be very cold - and so was this January evening in Bexley. Fortunately, we warmed to the food - even if the convector heater in the back room failed to provide much in the way of heat. We chose a table there to escape the live music and piped generic Moroccon lift music at front of house. Avoid Thursday if live music in a very small room puts you off, and Wednesday if you foresee the Psychic Evening being a bit weird. We tried the set menu and shared a starter of mezee with pitta bread. Houmous, taramasalata, yoghurt with cucumber, olives and more all good. The bread was crisper than your average pizza and very good. I could have scoffed the lot. A lamb tagine and the chicken version were shared. My lemon and coriander flavoured chicken was excellent. The lamb with prunes and apricots was good, although the lamb was slightly dry in places. Both were served with light, fluffy couscous. We tried a smooth, if slightly too chilly Merlot and I enjoyed the Casablanca beer. A light brew with just a hint of sweetness. This is a small establishment with closely spaced tables. On a busy night it would be difficult to avoid earwigging your neighbours - if you were so inclined. No service charge here (hooray) [unless you are more than six, or was it eight]. Service is friendly if a little to eager and anxious to ensure that everything is going well. Less is more, my dear waitress.Great to see an alternative to Italian, Greek, Chinese, blah blah, in the suburbs. Long may this North African enclave prosper. We will return.

Booked a meal for 4 including one vegan. they took the trouble to phone on the day and discuss what they could provide as a vegan meal. When we arrived the service was very friendly and helpful, the food was really well cooked and the flavours of morocco really came through. We will be going again.

Very impressed with this tiny restaurant - we'd tried to order through Just Eat a couple of times and had our order declined as the kitchen was too busy, which was annoying but we assumed a sign that the restaurant was very good! So we visted in person on a Sunday night and all was forgiven - the food is authentic and fantastic, the service is great, the atmosphere is perfect - you couldn't ask for much more.In particular the veggie tagine was really good - a nice surprise as often the veggie option is a bit of an add-on in some places. The staff really were fantastic and I'm certainly considering hiring the place for special occassions, it was that good!!

Myself and three friends booked to eat here on a Friday night when our usual restaurant was fully booked. I can't believe we've not been before! It's a tiny and intimate venue with a nice atmosphere. The staff were so friendly it was unreal; one in particular who had purple hair made our experience a real joy.The food was really tasty- we had the hot sharing starter (x2) which was gorgeous (and huge!). Three of us then had either lamb or chicken tagines which were delicious and the other had vegetable moussaka which she couldn't stop eating even when stuffed. We also had a bottle of red wine and one had an expresso. The total, with a tip, was £25 each. An absolute steal.I will be going back and have already recommended it to other people.

Visited this restaurant on Saturday and overall found it a very pleasant experience. They accommodated a group of 10 and were attentive to replenishing drinks and taking orders (they even gave us a bottle of wine on the house and rounded it off with a free liqueur once we were finished which was a nice surprise). Myself and another member of our group were not drinking but even splitting the bill equally it didn't seem too expensive (especially for the amount of alcohol ordered!). Didn't realise that it would only be a set menu, which was a bit disappointing as would've liked more choice, but the food itself was tasty and the bread with the starters was especially nice and plentiful. Although it's small, I liked the intimacy of the restaurant, it would be perfect for a small party or couples. It had a nice atmosphere and the staff were very pleasant. I can only assume after reading the "terrible" reviews on here that they have upped their game and addressed the issues (and they do now take card payments too!). I would like to visit this again with my partner to see what they think of it, as his main concerns with eating is quantity and cost!

Went on Sunday the 3rd after swimming and have to say was great! Tasty full of flavour, from the drippings with bread to our main which was ribs and wings. Only one thing our little one has a lots of allergies and she could not have fries or plain rice as can't have dairy so end up with few pieces of ribs. Apart from this all good so thank you!

We visited first in November during the fireworks event and had a lovely meal. My husband turned 40 yesterday and we wanted to book somewhere that had a menu which would please a large group including children. Penelope’s was one of our options but we were a little put off by the 3.5 stars on TripAdvisor. We decided to book anyway since it was convenient and we’d also had a good experience last time. We weren’t disappointed. Some of the more negative reviews cited inattentive service, but Michaela, our waitress, was beyond lovely and really went out of her way to make sure we were happy. Absolutely outstanding service. And actually, the waitress in November had been good too. The food was great and they make the pizzas from scratch in front of you (I particularly recommend the Amore Mio!). When we originally found out that Kelsey’s Farm was being bought out by Beck Evan’s, we were disappointed - the site had many happy memories attached to it under its former owner. But, they’ve not really got rid of anything and have instead just made improvements to what was there. The restaurant is better, there’s more going on, the soft play is cleaner. Will definitely be back!
