Flat White Cafe in Conwy

Refused to be served a coffee because was lunch time......(With empty tables in the shop).....so I have to leave......very weird that you cannot have a coffee in a coffee shop.

We found this delightful eatery this morning on our way home from an early morning hike up Snowdon. A group of 5 of us turned up with no booking in our grubby walking gear exhausted from our 2am start and we were made to feel so welcome and the service was excellent and the food was delicious. I had the bacon, Brie and Cranberry panini and sweet potato fries and my friends had 4 breakfasts!! Will definitely be popping back next time we are in the area! Thankyou

Great place to eat. Been lots of times with family to enjoy a lovely breakfast or lunch when in the area. Staff are so friendly, service is great and food is delicious. It has a great warm, vibrant atmosphere and we love the quirky decor too. Always look forward to a visit and will keep coming back!

First time customer. Gorgeous full cooked breakfast everything was hot and perfectly cooked, cheesy beans in toast for my little one. Great coffee. Came to £20 for 2 meals and two drinks. Service was spot on. Can’t wait to come back.

I visited Flat White with family for breakfast on a Saturday morning in July. Fortunately we'd booked a table as they were already full when we arrived and while we were there several groups of people looked through the door and had to leave as there were no available tables. The breakfast was excellent with sausages from Poynton's Butchers and good quality bacon. The only slight issue was that they initially forgot to include our mushrooms, which we hadn't noticed, but that was rectified quickly. The coffee was very good as well. You'll find cheaper breakfasts elsewhere in The Bay but at Flat White you certainly get what you pay for.

I loved the breakfast I asked for scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs and instead of the potatoes things I had tomatoes 🍅 I also had a Diet Coke the staff were very friendly with me as I had my support and my sunflower lanyard on we had a nice seat in the window my support had beans and cheese

Recently moved to Colwyn Bay and took my little girl for a wander down into the Bay after nursery mid-week. We actually intended to visit Haus based on their Google reviews, but saw this place next door and was very glad of our choice! It was clearly popular - all tables full or reserved, but they were hospitable and accommodating, squeezing us in at the back without a booking. Really lovely and friendly and prompt service, food was great and a great menu! You guys made us feel at home, and we will definitely be back! Called in for breakfast this morning and can honestly say that it is the best breakfast for miles around. We visit a lot of cafes sampling breakfast menus and this is by far the best we have found. The food is good quality, very well cooked and beautifully presented on the plate. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

We too were at the flat white last week when a previous reviewer said she was insulted by the owner. He only asked her to wear a face mask as is the requirement of the Welsh government in a hospitality setting. The reviewer raised her voice to the owner & said he had to serve her. As it was all the tables were taken, 2 were not being used for social distancing purposes, again a requirement set by the Welsh government not by the cafe owner. He told her that there was no room in a nice, quiet manner, he certainly wasn’t rude or insulting. She could have reserved a table, & complied with Welsh government requirements of wearing a face mask and enjoyed yet another visit to this lovely cafe.

I'm never disappointed when I visit Flat White. The food is always amazing (in terms of variety, quality, portion size - everything), there's a lovely atmosphere and it feels like a real treat. Always lovely to see the friendly staff, and I will continue to visit whenever I come to North Wales, I haven't found anything in North Wales that tops it.

Walk in today with a friend to meet a 3rd friend and we where virtually thrown out. We have been going to this cafe for years but today he told us to get out, no explanation and no excuse for being so rude. He said he was booked, OK, he could easily have said ‘Sorry’ we don’t have a table available, he didn’t need to open the door a order us out. If you like to be insulted the this is the cafe for you.

A week away in north wales, the weather was slightly unpredictable. It had started raining and we were hungry and stumbled across this cafe. The two staff said they would need to seat at us two separate tables (party of 6 people) and they would have them free in a few minutes and just needed to clean down. Once seated the staff bought the menus and the choices were made.The food arrived promptly, I think everyone had something different and all dishes were hot. Everyone remarked that there meal was very nice and we had planned to go back but ran out of time. The staff were attentive and friendly, the drinks were warm (definitely try the Canadian spiced apple tea) and the food was tasty and a decent size. For 6 of us the bill was less than £50.

Came here with my wife and two kids, nice clean cafe and interesting decor. Menu promised much and there was something for everyone. Everything arrived on time but the food was just a bit average. It could have been so much nicer if they had used better quality ingredients. The sausages were cheap and full of rusk, the hash browns cheap and nasty and the Hollandaise sauce on the eggs tasted like salad cream. Such a shame as with a little extra thought it could have been excellent. There were some good looking cakes on offer but we decided to cut our losses and went elsewhere for dessert. Some reviews mention rude staff but they were not really rude just distracted, twice when they were serving us they decided to stop and talk to people coming in rather than sorting us out first. I accept it was busy but they seemed more focussed on getting people through the door than looking after the ones already there. If you were coming in for a coffee and a cake it's probably amazing.

I visit flat white regularly I find the staff very friendly and make me feel very welcome. The food is fantastic, all fresh and very tasty, the soup is well worth trying ( I have it almost every time I visit) if its on the menu, but with covid about its not always available which I understand but there is always something else I can have. The scones are all fresh, other cakes are available. At the moment they are doing takeaway if you don't want to sit in. I will be back next week. Keep up the good work take care and stay safe.

Called in for breakfast before heading home to leeds. Very friendly, I had scrambled eggs on toast was absolutely lovely. Very covid safe felt at ease

Understandably there is a limited menu at the moment - all day breakfasts, soup, jacket potatoes and various forms of sandwiches / panini’s, however we would have expected the staff to know that there was not any soup or jacket potatoes available that day and only be told that after ordering - soup first and told it’s not on today, then ordering jackets and returning from the kitchen saying they had run out of those too. Service was average at best and certainly did not consider the customers needs - our party included a toddler and we were seated next to the open door, it was a cold day so when a table further into the restaurant became available we asked to move to it but we were told in no uncertain terms it wouldn’t fit all of us on there. A few minutes later another larger table became free but whereas staff who cared about their customers would have asked us if we wanted to move to that one, here we were just left to freeze by the door. And no, we didn’t ask again to move tables as the reaction the first time discouraged us from doing so again.

Covid regime fine. Coffee just as you would desire it. Cakes and sandwiches great. Sit out or in.

We visit this lovely cafe regularly. The food is first class - high quality ingredients and prepared beautifully. Staff are friendly and effecient, coffee is the best you will ever taste. During these difficult times the precautions and distancing have been observed meticulously without the place being taped off like a crime scene as so many others tend to do! Track and trace easy to comply with too. Can't recommend highly enough.

We stopped here for a late lunch on the spur of the moment. We could see through the window that the social distancing arrangements and other COVID-19 precautions looked good. We were reassured by this and got a table just before they stopped serving food, so that was lucky!The staff are very pleasant, and the food and drinks were wonderful.

If you love your sourdough with smashed avocado and poached eggs this is the cafe for you. Lovely customer service, slightly hipster, quirky feel and delicious coffee. I had the above and OH opted for the traditional full Welsh. Both very pleased with our choices. Would recommend and as busy, lots of other people would too.

This is the best cafe/restaurant in Colwyn Bay bar no other establishment. We go here as a family regularly, and for good reason - it is lovely! Nice little cafe that's great to pop in for a cake and coffee, and there's always a great selection to choose from! The lunch menu is also very tasty and we get a great service every time.

Came for a blustery weekend away in November and ventured forth to find a good place for brunch. Imagine our delight! Wonderful retro ambience with the walls decorated with mirrors and an eclectic choice of wallpaper panels depicting books in one corner and Toad of Toad Hall type animals on another wall.The menu is extensive and the Vegetarian breakfast which included Linda McCartney sausages, a perfectly cooked fried egg, a hash brown, a whole grilled tomato mushrooms and toast; was well cooked, hot and delicious! Accompanied by a pot of breakfast tea, and, oh joy, a bone China cup and saucer.The welcome and service was warm and genuine and we stayed, reading and enjoying a coffee, strong and hot on the comfortable sofa whilst the rain outside threatened.Only sadness is that as a visitor we won’t be able to make a return visit. Lucky people of Colwyn!

We visited the cafe, or should I say stepped inside on Friday 1st November.There was a lady waiting in front of us and an elderly couple behind.As we looked around a customer at the back of the shop gestured to us that she was ready to go. There was also another couple who had almost finished.A male member of staff approached us, I asked if we could have a table for two please. His reply, or should I say growl, was “I have got nothing in here”! He did not said this to the lady in front or the elderly couple behind but directly to myself and my partner.We left the premises immediately after his rude, not very welcoming, approach.We are paying customers and do not expect to be spoken to in such a rude manner.I would rather go thirsty than enter these premises again.If I had the option of no stars this would of been my choice.We found a nice welcoming premises across the road from Flat White and will definitely return as the ambiance and staff were friendly and welcoming plus the coffee and cake are delicious.
