Lovely morning spent having coffee and cake!! There’s plenty of parking outside and the good thing was that this place is open early on Sunday morning! The GF pistachio and cherry Bakewell was so delicious and light. The crumpets were also well made and scrummy! The coffee was flavoursome too!! It’s also dog friendly and they have our little dog a water bowl! Lots of tables and sofa areas, so you didn’t feel squashed in!

Over priced food, limited menu, rude kitchen staff who were inflexible and unaccomodating. Also very weird there’s a different menu for take away and we weren’t allowed to have anything on that menu in the cafe (even if we paid more to eat in). A very disappointing, expensive breakfast. The menu is now very egg orientated so not much if you don’t like eggs. And no sweet options other than porridge or pastry.

It was a Large venue and very cute aesthetic place, the wood was fresh and delicious and you could tell it was of quality, the prices are more on the expensive side but I do feel like the price reflects the quality and portion of food which is really good, they sell coffee and cakes as well, food is well presented, and their menu is a bit different from usual brunch spots which I like, they also catered to dietary requirements as most things were already gluten free and/or vegetarian or vegan, however it was slow to order but that was the only downside. All in all, it was a great place :)

Sadly since the expansion it’s just not it anymore. Went there for the last time on a Sunday for a drink and brunch. Very busy place, which has been the case in the past but the waiting staff seemed simply stressed and overwhelmed. I’m sure it was like 3 of them compared to a very large space and a seemingly overstaffed kitchen. Took ages for someone to take our order, I had to catch one of the staff as she was running past our table back and forth and ask to have our order taken. Which she did, but after waiting endlessly we found out she hadn’t even passed it on to the kitchen. We stood up and left shortly after that. As for the coffee, no offence to anyone, but it isn’t what it used to be. The prices are quite high for what you get as I think the place is understaffed and I’d be very curious to know what the employees think about this….

Tiny Tiny, (previously Flat Caps) is one of the best coffee shops in Newcastle. It's a little bit hidden but is central and they're dog friendly which is enough to instantly love the place. The cinammon roll is lush (especially if you catch it fresh out the oven), their menu is great food that makes you feel good too. The staff are lovely and informative and the atmosphere is a cosy vibe perfect for working, meeting friends or reading a book. It's an open kitchen, so if you really want to, you can see the chefs at work. There's a large collection of plants around the walls and hanging from the ceilings, adding to the serene feel of the place. But the star of the show here is their coffee. They usually offer a small card with the different beans they are using that day (not sure how often this gets changed but it feels fairly frequent) and it is always made to perfection. The coffee is consistently smooth, flavourful and one of my personal favourites in the city.

I was looking forward to this and ended up feeling disappointed. The Turkish Eggs (yoghurt based not tomato) had small bits that tasted like candied fruit. It didn’t work with yoghurt and eggs. The huevos rancheros was quite plain. Roughly £11 a dish and then £4.50 for sausages on top… I have had much better brunches for that price and I didn’t think the menu was impressive either. It’s very busy (call and reserve a table) so they definitely have nailed their target market. I must just not be in it.

I've been coming here for months now and always enjoyed the food, coffee, and service. It's a lovely place to come with friends or to relax with a book. But the prices have gone insane. Totally understand the need to account for the cost of living crisis and have no problem with the price of the coffees, but the price for food is crazy! £16 for French toast. £9.50 for a bacon and egg stottie. If you want to add vegan feta or bacon to a meal, it's an extra £4.50. The quality of food is fantastic, and the ingredients used are clearly of a good quality, but even then, the price is still too high. There's only so much you can reasonably charge for a bacon and egg sandwich, and £9.50 is too much. It won't stop me coming as the coffee, atmosphere and staff are all lovely and fantastic. But I'll definitely need to reduce how often I visit as the prices have exceeded what I would consider affordable for a casual cafe outing.

Called in because : 1- we were in Newcastle and sick & tired of the chain coffee shops 2- it's dog friendly, a rarity in city centres. Coffee is very good, ditto the cakes even if the first two choices were sold out. It was late afternoon to be fair. Pleasant staff and a bowl of water for the dog was supplied , nice touch. The sofas, chairs and carpeted areas could do with a visit from a cleaning company in fairness. Other than that, a pleasant break and I have to say the meals looked very good. Maybe next time 🙂

The staff were super friendly I when I arrived and brought the dog a bowl of water, I ordered poached eggs on toast(which was good to be fair) and I asked for 2 sausages on the side, to which I was asked if they are for the dog, “yeah we’re both starving” but was told sorry no you can’t have them we don’t allow the dogs to have any food sorry! And with that my breakfast ruined as I ate and my dog guilt stared me the whole time Honestly it would have been a 5star breakfast but the dog was pissed! And to a dog lover that trumps everything

when i just came to Newcastle I was a little but disappointed by the fact that it was hard to find a decent coffee shop so I asked all my hipster friends if there were any good places where you could relax, enjoy the atmosphere and drink delicious flat white. i received various answers but everyone had one thing in common, they all’ve mention the Flat Caps Coffee so i got interested in it. at first, i came there and it was terrible, lots of people, noisy, smelled like in a cheap pub so i haven’t ordered anything and ran out of the place as soon as possible but this morning i was hungry and wanted some coffee so remembered that most of the people have also mentioned good brunches there. “why not? if you won’t like it, it’s always possible to go to another place”, were my thoughts so i’ve decided to give it a go and it was really good. flat white and croissant were amazing, it smelled fine but still were a lot of people and noise, definitely not a place for relaxation.

I'd ordered soup with the bread and crispy onions. When it arrived, the bread had cheese on it. I asked the waitress what it was, she said 'parmesan'. The menu didn't say it was served with cheese, so I asked if it was vegetarian, because parmesan isn't usually. She went off to check, and returned saying it was vegetarian. I decided not to chance it anyway. If it stated on the menu that it was served with parmesan, I wouldn't have ordered it. £9 for a small bowl of soup was quite expensive, even with the bread. Also noticed the cafe could be doing with a deep clean - floors, skirting, chairs, table legs all dirty, and radiator we were sitting next to was covered in food splashes, that looked like they'd been there for a while. Toilets were dirty too, like they hadn't been cleaned properly for a very long time.

Tucked away behind the old Worswick street bus station what is now a huge building site. There is a small outdoor area and inside you are seated at wooden tables and chairs festooned by a mixture of plants flying over your head. There is a small lounge area and excellent free wifi. After a late night in Newcastle we arrived around 11 for brunch and we were not disappointed, my wife and I both went for the sourdough, poached eggs, bacon, chives and peppercorns with a cold coffee. Service was first class all done with a smile, we will be back.

I really enjoyed coming here. The coffee was great as was everything else. Food, service, decor. Kitchen is visible so you can see what they are doing & my, they kept themselves busy. When not cooking they were occupied with prepping & cleaning. Which was just as well as the owner was ever present, who, without been overbearing, was keeping a watchful proprietorial eye on everything . He clearly took great pride in the place, fussing about keeping the place ship shape, which is just as it should be. It was great that he was on duty as one of the things that had brought me to the place was a rather amusing defensive reply he left to a negative review pn TripAdvisor. Leave it Mate, you can't please all of em all of the time. Anyways, great place & I would definitely come again but I am seldom in Newcastle these days Oh & I had the Huevos Rancheros which was the best ever, which is a strange comment as it was my first. Doesn't matter, I enjoyed it very much indeed.

Thankfully, they started serving other breads than just sourdough but they’re all still so hard to cut, it ruins your meal. Also don’t come unless you fancy smelling like bacon and sausage upon leaving - the kitchen is open and in the cafe so you end up smelling like a college canteen.
