Five Guys Cardiff in Cardiff

Went to this particular five guys today, wasn’t disappointed, great food and service. Daughter tried it for the first time and smiled all the way through eating the burger, knew it would be a winner

Great place to have a burger. More expensive than other fast food burger restaurants but much better quality and you get a lot more chips too. I had the cheeseburger which was delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Staff were friendly and efficient.

A strong candidate in the fast food industry but prices are a tad bit too high for consistent five guys feasting. Large fries can be finished in 2 sittings, instead of 4 as advertised. Bacon cheeseburgers are consistently tasty and I would recommend, but again the prices are not too affordable for a frequent customer

Bacon milkshake was fun and actually delicious with crispy bacon bits. Food was also great, fresh and good quality. Son loved the five guys mayonnaise. However some (but not all) vending drinks were overly watery, and the milkshake took 25 minutes to make.

Group of males taking Cocaine in the toilets, very dirty inside - up the stairs - tables. That said the staff were lovely and friendly.

Fab Food 🍔🍟 and Lovely, helpful staff 🩶 Had Little Hamburger with Lettuce 🥬 Pickles 🥒 Fresh Onions 🧅 and Green Peppers 🫑 with BBQ Sauce 🤎 It was just Fantastic 🤤 Shared a Medium Fries, was plenty for two and they were gorgeous 🍟 Refill Fizzy Drinks too 🥤 I was given the wrong Burger but they rushed a replacement through within about 3 minutes 🤷🏼‍♀️ Very impressed 👍🏼 The only thing wrong with my visit was not having one of their Milkshakes 🧋 - next time ❤️ Can't wait to go again 🥰

By far the best fast food burger around, so much better than maccys. Always go for a hotdog or the double bacon cheeseburger with cajun fries. The Best!

Best fast food burger, hands down.

Paid for quick service with Uber eats plus tip, and they allocate the job to a driver with a BICYCLE despite me living 5 miles away! Food 2 hours late and driver can't speak English and is stopped in some random street nowhere near my address or route! Fortunately had full refund.

Food good but 20 quid for a burger drink and fries is a rip off!

Food was delicious. Really impressed for what I thought was gunna be similar to McDonald's. Chip portions are massive but the friendly assistant at the counter didn't let us unnecessarily spend and gave us a suggestion for the 2adults 6kids which was pretty spot on. Only downside really was the milkshakes not being available. Burgers were on the higher price end but not extortionate for the quality. Some menus on the table would have been nice to make ordering for large groups easier.

'Security' very intimidating..Purchased about £20 of food and drink. However, extremely taken aback by the aggressive nature of the staff and the door staff. Really intimidating. I was polite and sound throughout yet person with long grey beard threatened me. It's a fast food place yet violence was suggested. Absolutely gob smacked. Will go there tomorrow to confront this behaviour

We placed an order totally to £42.25 at 7:09pm and we received the order at 7:58pm. We stayed near the counter waiting for our order, asked about it a couple of times. They kept giving the deliveries to Just Eat and Deliveroo personnel and people who came after us but failed to give our order. They just did not care and their attitude was we don’t care that you had to wait for this much time and gave an explanation that their system is responsible for the delay. The whole experience was traumatic and we will never come back to the city centre branch. They need to fix their systems and their attitude.

My burger was cold and I ate it off the floor on my knees because there were no sears left! I felt embarrassed and like I was the dirt on the floor that they hadn’t cleaned 🧹

Always get the single patty, think about the ratios

This is not to be compared to fast food burger chains. The selection is plentiful build your own burgers, the quality, freshness and taste of the food we had was excellent. Lots of options to make your burger special. The fries were lovely one tip a regular portion is more than enough for two people also if you like hot spices try the HOT SAUCE Stunning. The price is reasonable for the quality we had two burgers with lots of options a portion of fries and two Glorious milkshakes for £35.00. Next time we are back in Cardiff will definitely be calling.

Delicious burgers and awesome fries. Five Guys do a limited menu with lots of custom options, and do it really well. A lack of plant based options but the most comprehensive soft drinks selection I've ever seen (and the only place I've found outside Germany to have Mezzo Mix on tap). Friendly, helpful staff.

Really good quality food, always find it overpriced but tasted good and service was friendly and quick.

My mate and I were in Cardiff for a 'Tailgunner' gig at Fuel Rock Club recently. We stopped at 5 Guys for a burger and fries before the show. 5 Guys is always good - been to the Exeter branch too. Burgers are great, delicious and filling ... and on top of that you get a shed-load of fries. It was just us in there and maybe one other table, so the atmosphere was a bit quiet, which just meant we got served more quickly. There are 'monkey-nuts' to munch on while you wait for your custom order to be cooked and served, so that was cool. The only slight criticism of 5 Guys is the price ... £20 for a burger, fries and a soft drink is a lot. Even for higher end burger restaurants. I get the food inflation thing, but £20? Hmmmm. Still, it's a great burger.

Was here on the same day as the Wales vs Barbarians match about 2 hours before kick off, the place was absolutely rammed so was expecting a bit of a wait. Fair play, they had everything running smoothly, food was quick, tasty, no mistakes. Makes a change from other places in town on a match day.

Bit pricey for fast food but it is free soda refills and a good amount of options and they fill the bag with Fries so you don't leave hungry or thirsty. The staff are alway polite, friendly and helpful.

Great burgers and loads of fries

Love the burgers here, yes it is expensive, but as a rare treat it's worth it. Still great quality, full of flavour burgers. Their bacon cheeseburgers are great. Good to see the peanuts back too 😁 Update still fab, consistent burgers over the years.

1st time at Five Guys and I wasn't disappointed. The burgers was so filling that I didn't need to eat my chips. The portions of chips were amazing and had my monies worth. The chips was so tasty and never had them like that before. Don't get me wrong it's pricey but it's so worth the money! The milkshakes were lush. My kids enjoyed their burgers too and i dare say that the burgers here are better than mcdonalds in taste and feeling full. Normally with mcdonalds I have to order another burger to feel full.

My daughter loves it. Tasty burgers and waaaaaay too many chips. Also, they sell beer. As good a "chain" burger as you will find.

Great food and tasted amazing. Very friendly service and staff. The only issue I had was every table was wobbly and someone else had the same issue as they tipped their drink

First time visiting this past Sunday morning. The lad helping us out was amazing. We hadn't tried out 5 guys yet and he explained everything to us- and was so amazingly friendly! We left feeling so happy and super chuft with the service he provided. We didn't get the guys name who helped us, but he was amazing!

Average Five guys, same experience as any other five guys

The Milkshake is great. The large fries here are not crispy at all and tastes bitter, maybe overcooked. The staff are very nice and replaced them with newly fried ones, unfortunately still tastes the same. It doesn’t feel like Five Guys fries which are undoubtedly fabulous.

Glorified Wimpy, McDonald's etc etc. Can't say I enjoyed being there or eating the mediocre burger, although the strawberry milkshake was ok.

Great if you want a burger, not for anything else.

I’ve traditionally only been to Five Guys at the end of gigs or events so it’s usually busy. As such, I’m not expecting all the tables to be in the right place or all the sauce sachets to be filled up. In truth, because I’ve been after events, it tends to be busy and the staff run ragged but they are still nice, polite and the food is served quickly and cooked well. It’s brilliant comfort food at the end of the night, found at the end of Caroline Street. Get it in yer gob!

I enjoy an overpriced 5guys very much. And who can argue with all you can eat dry roasted monkey nuts I extend a word of advice to the management though. You need to stop the hordes of delivery cyclists sitting on your front steps. Looks very unwelcoming

Super service and lovely food but a little dirty inside

Pretty typical of every Five Guys I should imagine. Super friendly service this time. Am I the only one who can't operate the drinks machines, though, or are they broken?

Lovely food, friendly staff. Unfortunately very loud, messy, due to drunk youngsters. On a Saturday afternoon it would be beneficial to have security staff on shift.

It’s 5 Guys - the food is excellent. Shout out to the consistently awesome shakes. Reviewing because the service here is so good - the staff are genuinely friendly and engaging, which is impressive given that this is a chain restaurant in the middle of a major city centre’s brewery quarter, so I am guessing they get a lot of grief and it’s very busy! It’s always our fallback for somewhere when we want fast food that is still superb.

Fries over salted. Food not worth anywhere near what they charge for it. Lime flavoured coke is not sprite

Outstanding burgers, chips are ridiculously large and drinks are free refills. You do need a small mortgage or loan to pay but they are lovely. Burgers are around £9/£10 then chips start at £4 and drinks are £4.15

Food was sub par I feel like Burger King is much better and far cheaper

Food I put 4 stars because I loved the fries 🍟. They offer two options, cajun and salted. We ordered the salted and went for a regular serving and that was huge. I wonder what a large serving looks like. We love that they use real potatoes, none of that horrid synthetic stuff you get from other fast food chains that start with M or B or K. But they are cooked in Peanut oil, so if you have an allergy, please stay far away. We did not like the bacon double cheese burger, my daughter said that it was dry and she loved bacon but not this one. If you are vegetarian, they have veggie Sandwiches with or without cheese. They taste delicious with cheese but as I am now dairy intolerant I had mine without and it was not so tasty. The food is very pricey so my daughter was disappointed 😥 but said that she will return just for the fries and refillable drinks. The service was excellent

Standard five guys, over priced for a burger and chips.

Food was nice and there was really good service. They do a bacon 🥓🥓🥓 (yes BACON) milkshake here, save yourself some money and DON'T get one no matter how curious you may be. It is every bit as wrong as it sounds!

First time visiting a 5 Guys, definitely doesn't live up to the hype people give it. Essentially it's just an expensive Burger King with more fries. £14 for a basic bacon burger and small fries is way overpriced, even if the bacon wasn't burnt and the burger squished and sweaty it's still too much - the fries were reasonably good, and there were so many dumped in the bag I couldn't get to the burger without eating half of them.

Never been to this chain before. The walls are covered with articles praising the excellence of the food. The place is spacious and predominately white with the air of a garage. Food was served quickly and you get as much drink as you want from the dispenser. The chips were very salty and I avoided them. The burgers were wrapped in aluminium foil that meant the burger was sodden. I had a plain burger and it tasted rather like wet cardboard. I can't see any advantage to coming here over other well known burger chains and I won't be back.

A solid 3 stars. The burger was small but nice. Loads of fries which is good because they cost £5. The drink was also expensive but refillable. I wouldn't go again but I was glad that I finally went.

Been here lots of times, you can't beat a fresh burger and chips, the food is so filling I never have room for dessert and you definitely get your moneys worth, will always come back. Highly recommend milkshake with bacon in it. If you are brave enough to have a burger with all 15 toppings grab a napkin and prepare for a tasty mess 😂

I'll give Five Guys 3 Stars. Why only 3? It's a bit nicer than The Scottish Restaurant and the Royal Burger but a little bit more pricey. However, the bun, patty, relish and chips are superior. It's much more like a burger from a diner in the USA. It's cheaper than the hipster burger places in London that pop up in East End Pub carparks, or the foodie markets that are a bit over the top for most people. This is a chain not a Boutique burger joint. You can customise your food and the permutations are enormous. Overall I'd say it is along the lines of Eds Easy diner without quite as much 50s Americana - especially now that Eds have reduced the size of their portions and closed well over half their restaurants. A great place for a children's party. One drawback though is that this is located just off quite a sleazy street so would not be pleasant in the late evening. Just saying.

20 minutes of standing around waiting for my order was not fun

Only 2nd experience of a 5 guys and it didn't dissapoint. There was a mix up with our food and the young man I think he was tge manager jumped into action and made us fresh food he couldn't apologise enough he also offered us free milkshakes which made our day ....Thank you so much.

Took my daughter here for her birthday. Cost £30 for 2 little burgers medium fries and 2 drinks. The food was cold the burger was greasy even my daughter wouldn't eat it. Should of gone to McDonald's next door and had the same thing for a tenner and it would of been a lot nicer

Empty when we visited and staff were clueless, waited 15 minutes for a milkshake because nobody knew who was meant to be doing... no nuts, dirty tables and staff talking to themselves...

Food was great but a little selay in delivering orders

We had been out to an outside function and decided to go to 5 Guys in Newport Road Cardiff We had the worst hot dogs I’ve ever eaten and I’ve been around the world! Flat salty sausage in a soggy bun, no onions and all at a rip off price Don’t waste your hunger going to this restaurant!

we waited 35 minutes for a cold burger. they forgot my fries and when i asked for them back i got a sarcy reply and there was a ghost flying around.

Cold, loud, and poorly laid out dining area. Amateur level of cooked patties, fries too salty, and cheese down bunless burger were all a bit disappointing. Recommend the Red Dragon Centre branch of Five Guys.
