Fishy Business in Stoke-on-Trent

Good food and service, as ever.

Positives: Food good, reasonable prices,accepts cards, car park. Negatives: some staff could be a little friendlier

I go there sometimes the fish and chips are great, well cooked and the price is right for the quality you get The kebabs are are great

Just got a portion of chips driest chips I’ve ever had never again my recommendation is go somewhere else

Dont understand the bad reviews yes the prices have increased but so have most other places the food is always hot, as for the staff no problem there they to do a job which they do, May be not chatty but trying to get everybody served as quick as possible. The owner always says hi when he sees you even if its not in the shop. Ignore the moaners great chippy i live on Meir Park and have never people complain so much about everything I will continue to support my local chippy.

Price increase for less chips ! 2 young ladies with vacant looks serving what used to be a large portion ..Now £4.50 for a large ! Yes I know ! However less chips !!!

Ordered 2 large cod, supposedly received 1 large cod and 2 small cod. Received 1 large fish unlike any cod I've ever seen and the small cod were actually made up of 2 very thin grey fish fried together, so 4 small flat grey fish fillets pretending to be 2 cod, which fell apart when cut into. The fish and chips smelt of old fat and were extremely greasy. The mushy peas were cold and tasted very strange. Would have given 0 starts if possible, enough said.

Feb 22. Only been a few times this past year with covid and work influences. Went 01.02.22 at lunch time and had chippie lunch for 5 adults and it was superb. Hot fresh tasty and the best in a long time. February 21 . It's got 3x.*. Its hit and miss at the moment. 1 day its quick easy hot n fresh. On other days its .... I'll let the pictures say the rest. No fish or chicken meat is poor at 1930 on a Wednesday. The garlic mayo seems to have too of a vinegar taste. I think it depends on who's in charge on the day as to how good it is. Could be 5* could be 1*. Pot luck. Been tonight. May 2021 Good hot tasty kebabs. Back to expected norms. Like I said earlier it depends on who's in charge. Went end of Sept 21. Yanis and son serving. Hot fresh quality food. Back to high standards. Chicken kebab and double cheese burger.

Went at lunchtime for the whole family. All the food was fresh and enjoyed by all. Price ££ To be fair when the food is freshly cooked this is a fab chippy and don’t mind paying a little bit more for the food . Friendly staff and a car park .

Quite expensive as chippy's go and often very small on the portions. On the plus side the fish is good, cooked well and nice crispy batter. Just unfortunate on the amount of chips they give out, a medium portion is more like a small. Get yourself some bread and butter ready to fill yourself up 😊

The food is normally very good and it is easy to get to and the parking is good most of the time. It is almost next door to the Dr surgery and the Potter's bar pub. I normally have donner meat and chips or fish in breadcrumbs, which you have to order when entering unless you want to wait a long time. Both are tasty dishes.

For the price (£4 for a large chips) and location, we expected these to be the best chips in Stoke on Trent. Chips weren’t nice at all, greasy, over cooked and stuck together. Won’t be visiting again, also ordered a large peas and it was a tiny tub that wouldn’t even be enough for 2 people. Very disappointed.

High quality fish and chips with a 5 star hygiene rating tucked away in a housing estate on a small parade of shops. Owner takes pride and care in what's served and it's well worth queueing outside while social distancing.

A real fish and chip shop. I had 2 skewers of mushrooms and a pineapple fritter and chips. The other people had a fish and fish and chips with mushy peas. Excellent quality and a fair price. The vivid restrictions were sensible. Plenty of parking too.

We went 8.30pm Saturday night, was told they had sold last 4 pieces of southern fried chicken and there was this over fried piece left and wouldn't fry anymore, all the food we had was luke warm - chips, small piece of fish, the chicken meat and salad was vile and cold. And the guy who served me needs better training in customer service. I won't be returning back.

Been here a few times as I work nearby, the chips are always amazing. Don’t know how they get a humble potato to taste so good when so many others fail. The fish is always disappointing though, bland and mushy. Will be back for the chips but don’t think I’ll order fish again

Best chippy in stoke on trent, regularly drive 5 miles and back as this place is worth it lovely chips, fish, fried chicken wont go anywhere else staff are always very friendly !!! ...

Been going here for about 5 years and had no problem but recently it hasn't been the best, food hasn't tasted as nice and the portions seem to be smaller even though the prices have gone up. £5 for a large fish, so I expect a large fish not some little tiddler

Excellent customer service and quality food.

Lovely local chippy! The chips are the best I’ve ever tried from any chip shop! On a Friday and Saturday it can busy so there is a bit of a queue however, you dont have to wait long to get served and they are always fast with your order! The portion sizes are very generous I would highly recommend this chippy!

The food is great, hot and well priced. The shop has been owned by the same family for years and they are part of the community. They know their customers and they always have a good attitude towards their customers. We regularly have fish and chips as well as burgers, battered mushrooms, sausages and even salad pittas which are always great. I have been going to this fish and chip shop for 12 years and never had a bad experience!

The best fish and chip around the area, excellent selection of all takeaway food and cold drinks, and all the staff are very pleasant and make you welcome. Excellent cleanness around the shop and a large car park outside for car parking. A fish and chip shop to defenalty recommend

Not been to this place for quite a while, my husband went to collect and I was very disappointed, my daughter had a small portion of chips and large fish, we had a large portion of chips and large fish. All portions of chips were small it's not like it used to be and expensive. I'll be going to Tean in the future.

Situated on a busy junction it does have parking available for 2 maybe 3 cars at the front of the shop. It has seating for 12 people to sit inside the shop which is mainly a takeaway, which accommodates large orders for collection if placed. Friendly staff

Local Fish and Chip shop hidden away in a housing estate. The fish is excellent and cod is always in the cabinet or in the fryer. Service is usually very quick and there's a small car park next to the small parade of shops that Fishy Business is situated within.

Ive been using fishy business since 2001. Until tonight. 2 serving. Woman in front of MYSELF with 4 little kids (non knew what they wanted) Till area empty bare in mind two serving. Server The young girl ginger hair shouted next. Woman in front of me did not move. Still disguising what they wanted. So two serving i went past. The server then said that lady is next.. yeah the one who is still ASKING what they all want going through the whole menu So my 3 large fish n chips 2 Chips sausage gravy. Ive always recommended this chippy. Not anymore. I drove to Tean chippy (now number 1 on my list fishy business now on blacklist) Round robin tx to all on my contacts to avoid Tean chippy was cheaper. Drove from Meir park to Tean and back to Blythe bridge.
