The best fish we have ever eaten. Top service and very nice atmosphere. A real recommendation for fish lovers. The food was a 10/10

I ate a very nice bouillabaisse that was well served and already presented. I found the atmosphere very pleasant and reserved. More of a restaurant for couples than groups. Of course, the idea of ​​putting fish and oysters out in the front and preparing them in the back of the restaurant is a great idea. I found it very nice.

Amazing seafood platter , staff and delicious wines. We had a wonderful time.

Fish came smelly, mussels were inedible. Service was horrendous, no apology at all and they just claimed “its not the season for mussels” and “chef said its ok”. Dont come for your own sake

Rude staff, mussels were smelly and spoilt yet no apology and told us it can be eaten but it’s smelly. Horrendous attitude, avoid at all cost. Food is meh

Been there a few weeks ago and liked it, however, this time was very disappointing. Extremely slow service (1hr to receive our food without an explanation or an apology) and badly behaved staff.

Having not visited this restaurant in almost 20. years, I decided to take my husband here on a Saturday night after work. The restaurant did not disappoint my memory of it. Relaxed but refined ....a perfect venue for a calm weekend meal. The food was...as I remembered it . excellent. We started with the smoked haddock croquettes and the fish soup. The croquettes were perfect, straight from the oven, light and flavourful the soup was superb, great flavour and not overly salty. Then for the mains, the grilled fish platter and the mackerel fillets. The platter was exactly the right size for one, the prawns perfectly cooked, the fish delicious. The mackerel was lovely, just slightly too dry for my taste, but still wonderful. Two lovely desserts rounded the evening off perfectly. However one slightly sour note, the waiter made a disparaging comment when the bill was presented. I had booked via an app and was entitled to a 30% food discount and still paid £175 for the well deserved meal. Bittersweet taste on the delivery of the bill, as people should not be embarrassed by taking advantage of discounts offered by the restaurant. But overall, honest simple food, well prepared and well served.

Lovely evening at Fishworks. Not as noisy as I expected. Ray with black butter was absolutely delicious. Whitebait starter was a bit like pub food, a bit heavy and soggy. Pudding delicious.

Elena was a great at her service to us. Food - order fish and chips. The fish was oily and had a some kind of smell to it which even lasted the whole day. The atmosphere was good. Its misleading to have a fish selling shop at the entrance but the ambience was good.

Good food, service was ok but we felt a little rushed after we finished our desserts. Mussels were very small for the price. There Soho location was a lot better, which was somewhat disappointing.

It was so bright in there is stayed for a few minutes and left, no ambience. I used to eat here and the food and staff are great, but its not a relaxing environment in bright artificial light!

Ordered for probably the 10th time a takeaway lobster and chips here and today was the crowning glory of disappointment. A full portion of chips (well cooked no issues) but the tiniest most runt of the litter lobster they could find - spiky and spindly, next to no claw meat and the tail meat for each half the size of a jumbo king prawn utterly pathetic - full RRP on Uber is £53. That gets you these slivers of lobster meat and a portion of chips. Last time I ordered was also uncharacteristically small (I say this having many comparisons) but not as ridiculous as this - never ordering from this cheat of a place again now learnt my lesson.

We were very disappointed with our meal. The starter, tuna tartare, was fine. However the main course, "seafood and samphire linguine" was very poor. The 'seafood" was mainly tasteless , rubbery, squid rings, accompanied by a few small crevettes and some mussels, the latter being the main (only?) tasty element, since the sauce was insipid, almost totally lacking in seasoning. As for the samphire, a few scraggly strands hardly merited being named as a significant part of the dish.

The food was fantastic. We had the whitebait and mussels to start which were both brilliant, especially the mussels. The yellow tail tuna and seafood linguine were both excellent for mains. The service was fantastic, the waitstaff were lovely and very attentive and the food came out nice and promptly. It’s a light and airy atmosphere with a slight nautical theme which works very well. Would absolutely recommend this place for a nice lunch or dinner.

Lovely meal with fresh oysters, sea bass, shrimp and such. Very tasty and fresh, highly recommended for anyone looking for good quality fish and seafood.

The food is absolutely delightful. I had the moules marinières to start with and the sole as a main. Fresh, flavourful, well seasoned and good portions - fantastic !

Average price to eat fresh fish (you can literally see it when you enter the place). The ambient is elegant but not too posh and the service is precise. Great quality of the food.

Bouillabaisse soup and tuna carpaccio excellent; Catch of the Day tasty was adequate; lobster was dry. Staff were courteous but not very engaged. Slow service. The overall experience was perfunctory rather than exceptional which you would expect for the price.

Didn’t get the name of the waiter but he was very good. Explained everything perfectly and very attentive. Never had a bad meal at fishworks.

Main course was a whole wild sea bass cooked in salt for three. The fish alone came to £94:50. It was improperly cleaned, overcooked and arrived in tatters. Not expected from a speciality fish restaurant. A bowl of carrots was upended over the table during service to round off this unhappy experience.

Very nice set up, service and ambience. We were well looked after. We found the Bouilabaisse underwhelming and overpriced for what it was, I am afraid. Otherwise all good.

Nice restaurant and very good food. Would recommend but suggest diners check their bill as we were charged £95 plus service charge for a bottle of wine that was £34!

A really good restaurant. We decided to share a fish (cave: expensive), everything was very tasty. I was well full. The entrance area = fish counter is also very interesting. We didn't have a reservation and were lucky (6:30 p.m.), but it quickly filled up.

Totally enjoyed the nice food, warm service, and cozy vibe. Good for family. Would come again!

Having passed by Fishworks on many occasions this was the first time I’d eaten there. And it will be the last. Staff were kind and accommodating but the food was seriously mediocre to less than pleasing.

The service was great and food was good overall the atmosphere was not as good as our previous visit, however as usual the food was very well served

From walking through the door, being shown to our table, support with the menu, 'specials', drinks, food arriving, and paying for the service, it was just right, not too intrusive and not too distant. The food was always the best quality, well cooked, presented and with the perfect taste. Fishworks is great!

Wonderful service - super helpful around our reservation and then impeccable and friendly all evening. Fantastic food - the wild prawns were sublime - and wide choice and such fresh fish. Really great place - a firm favourite!

Appetisers were really good - mains more on the average side. We like the restaurant and we keep going, but it's a little pricy for what it is.

I keep hoping Fishworks has improved but have been rather disappointed last few times. Why? Ambiance: Why the stark, bright lights in the evening? Cafeteria feel! And why such stale, hard bread when your sourdough features so heavily as a side to several dishes? Do better! Get fresh bread in. Dishes: Wild Prawn delivered. Very tasty, flavorful. The Marinated Mussel were also fine, but the broth was way too thin and runny. Turbot was well-cooked but felt a bit too heavy with the dense mashed potatoes underneath. The wildbait appetizer was decent. All in all: Need to up your level in the kitchen, find a new baker to supply your sourdough, and swap your bright lights with candles and dim lighting.

Very good experience, food excellent, maybe a bit cramped but acceptable.

Worst service ever from general manager that runs this place despite other staff generally nice and helpful. I came on 23rd and checked the oysters intending to buy a few dozens on Christmas Eve. The staff then told me there will be the same three types of oysters and I can come in the next day to get them. Nobody told me I need to pre order. On 24th, the staff were about to serve me and manager came in to stop him. He chose not to talk directly to me let alone apologized, and just told the fishmonger that he can’t sell oysters to me as they’re reserved for restaurants. When I asked him myself and explained the situation, he was very rude and defensive, didn’t even try to help or communicate and talked with an arrogant attitude throughout. He made it clear that it’s not his problems that I was misled and the oysters wont be sold to me. Even the other customer there emphasize and said he was very rude. It’s very unnecessary to behave as such on Christmas eve One person can really ruin it all and I won’t be back again

Another very nice lunch in Fishworks. It’s a cracking little restaurant, the staff are always friendly and the food is always good. The freshly caught fish of the day to share is a treat; choose what you fancy and they will bring said fish to your table for a brief inspection and a discussion on how you would like it cooked. Finish the meal with a tasty scoop of ice cream and a coffee - what could be better?

Food excellent but service very unfriendly shame as we’ve been before and it was excellent. Told them it was our friends wedding anniversary and no mention was made of it. Felt like they wanted us to go.

Best fresh fish restaurant in London as far as I am concerned. Such attention to detail. A fishmonger at the front, with whom you can talk about what fish you would like to eat think fresh crab! Amazingly fresh fish (all kinds) well prepared at a relatively reasonable price. This is a good place to go and eat a good fish meal. Drinks seem pricey but the food is good value particularly considering the quality that is outstanding.

It was great but there was a dog at an adjoining table. Is that hygienic?

This restaurant needs more input with their service - a long wait before anyone took our order though the restaurant seemed to be full of staff. Toilets and general cleanliness also needed attention! Our roasted fish was a bit dry. other dishes not special either. But lovely ambience and we enjoyed the evening.

My son and I came here for the crab. All the work was done by Benny, the fishmonger and it was a triumph. The service is outstanding. Our favourite spot.

Calamari are very bad done. They are oily, not crispy and not good seasoned.... would recommend to wait till the oil is very hot and put it then for maybe 30 seconds, then the calamari would not absorb so much oli, and it would be crispy The staff is very kind and friendly))) decoration is nothing speacial

What a great restauarant. From the moment you arrive, you are made so welcome, and even have a chance to speak with the fishmonger, Benny, who gets the best fresh fish. Great food, service and wine list. Get the ice cream with the Pedro Ximinez...perfect.
