Fisher's in Hammersmith and Fulham

We went there for fish and chips according to comments we read. But we were disappointed The restaurant smells from the fried fish and the same thing happened to our clothes. The sauce tartar wasn’t tasteful. The fish was fresh and a large portion of fries was in the plate. The restaurant doesn’t serve wine or other alcohol drinks.

Amongst the best fish and chips I've ever had. The fish is cooked perfectly. Translucent, separating into gorgeous white flakes when lighltly cut through the perfect non greasy batter. The portion size is very generous. The chips do not overwhelm the Cod. Again perfectly cooked, and not frozen. I do wish you could get bread and butter, in oredr to have the perfect fish and chip supper. No alcohol, but that is not a concern. I've been here a few times. You'll have to search high and low to find better. Thoroughl recommended. Do book to avoid dissappointment.

First, the good things: the haddock was well cooked, the batter was crisp, not too thick and complemented the fish very well; the chips looked home-made and were spot on. A very enjoyable combination. We ate in the cafe at the side of the fish shop; everything was freshly cooked and the service was pleasant. The only negatives were the size of the portions, which was huge, and the temperature in the cafe which was quite cold. One fish and chips would have been enough for the two of us and we left half the meal on our plates in consequence. If we went again, which I would do given the quality of the meal, we would share one portion of fish and chips. It’s a shame to waste so much food especially when we are told how expensive ingredients have become and how much we need to avoid unnecessary waste.

My wife and I have just been to Fishers this evening. I have to say that the cod I had was without doubt the freshest and tastiest I have ever had, and all served by a delightfully friendly and professional young lady. Thank you Fishers. Highly recommended.

Being a bit off the normal tourist routes, this little Chippie on Putney High Street doesn’t garner the mass of reviews that some of the other famous fish & chip restaurants in Central London receive. I doubt the Conde Naste reviewers have even ever been to Putney! But ….they should. With a small quaint dining room this restaurant handles dine-in service with hot fish & chips that are probably the best you will find in London. Take-Out orders form the bulk of their business and Fridays can be particularly busy. The website and online menu for Fisher’s is out of date having recently changed hands (but with the same Chef’s). It is currently unlicensed for beer and wine sales so expect a bottle of sparkling water rather than Dom Perignon. They have the best fish and chips in London. What more could you want?

THIS REVIEW IS ON A DINE-IN EXPERIENCE, NOT TAKEAWAY. When someone books a table, it's REALLY important to tell the customer that you don't sell alcohol and no option to BYO. Really embarrassing if a crowd of you turn up for a celebration. Fish itself was great, chips OK, cajun fish v good. Salad fresh & crisp. Had to ask for the slightly sticky bottle of ketchup, rather than it being on the table. Tartare sauce in tiny pots. Fishers takeaway is great (although do request 'extra crispy' for the chips to be golden). But we were disappointed in the dine-in visit.

I had calamari and chips, which were so delicious and cooked perfectly. The service and quality of seafood was excellent. The best I’ve had while in London. I highly recommend.

The best Fish and chips I’ve had on my travels. That’s from Cornwall to Scotland and all over Europe. The fish was as thick as your forearm and just as tasty( I’m assuming forearms are tasty, I haven’t had one). The batter was unbelievable but believe me it was unbelievable. If you’re in the area , by that I mean northern hemisphere, you must go and have their fish and chips you will not regret it. Hats off , in fact all my clothes off to this fine establishment and I’m now wandering around back here in AU searching for an equivalent, will I find one? I hope so, gets a bit expensive travelling that far for a fish supper, do you deliver?

We have ordered from Fishers several times using Deliveroo as we like the food - but last three times as soon as the order is placed the delivery timespan suddenly gains n extra 30 minutes - so right now I ordered at 6 32pm and they have given themselves until 7 50 to deliver - one hour ten minutes and we are only a mile away - disappointing

This was a disappointing return. They really need to up their game and update their misleading web site. Soggy chips, no wine or beer, a smell of old oil hanging in the air. My wife left all her chips, they were that bad. On a positive note the grilled haddock with garlic butter which I ordered was good.

Went to Fishers for lunch. Told not serving alcohol only soft drinks? Which was a complete surprise. Is this because Fishers is now under new management?

This is the best place to eat fish in London and I'm a fish expert! The cod was cooked to perfection, the tartar sauce was delicious and the staff is really nice.

Everything is good. My favorites, in order: 1) battered haddock; 2) battered cod; 3) butterflied prawn (or gambi ) ; 4) grilled cod. Great onion rings. The Chips are really good, use clean oil at the right temp, but my family who order chips always crave MY onion rings.

Food is good but staff behaviour is terrible. Not customer oriented at all. I asked for some paper for cleaning hands and the young guy at the desk told me "what do you mean"? I asked then 2 forks and 2 knives and he just indicated with the fingers a basket containing some forks (no knives there). When I repeated I needed 2 knives also he just placed them in the desk in a very rude manner. it was about to make me lose patience. Please change the staff and be more customer friendly, or sometimes you will find very upset customers.

Awful place rude waitress . We had a groupon voucher for two fish and chips . I asked if my partner could substitute fish for a sausage ! The lady said no . We weren’t offered a drink or anything . I found her rude unprofessional and the place is very cramped and on. Hot day stifling . Avoid like the plague !

Well worth the short trek to Putney Bridge to indulge in some delicious crispy hot fish and chips. Seriously, this was probably the best I've had in the UK!

Go here regularly as food is always amazing but service is all over the place at the moment - waiters don’t seem to be allocated to any table so it’s a bit of a free for all. Needs tightening up massively

Fulham for many years only had a few fish and chips takeaways. I travelled to Fishers and the food was superb. We had a large cod, onion rings, curry sauce and mushy peas.

This is very good of it's kind. Good quality fresh fish well cooked. A constant trickle of takeaway customers, avail themselves of Fishers. We chose to eat in the restaurant which is perfectly adequate. By comparison of my local Chippy this is definitely a notch...

Amazing fish & chips! Great quality, crispy and light batter that isn’t oily and crispy fat chips! They even went the extra mile to give a bit of steamed fish for my cat Loki on his 2nd birthday!! Will not forget their hospitality!

Fishers is tasty, Fishers is nice, Fishers comes at a really good price! You could have Cod, you could have hake, But if you fancy something different get the curry sauce they make!

I ordered 2 large cod..., and asked if I could have a takeaway vinegar in the mini tub, the staff member said we don't do that with takeaway. I have been coming for takeaway for 10 years and this is the first time I have been told this. The food is very good but disappointed by the lack of client service for 10p.

We have been there three times and the experience in this traditional and cozy place is 100% worth the visit.Food is delicious and fresh but the absolute star is the treatment you receive from the staff working there. This place is stunning. Lovely setting and very quaint with great staff. I ordered large cod and chips with mushy peas and curry sauce. Wow!!! The fish was out of this world and I cannot recommend this establishment enough. We WILL be back 1000%!!! Thank you!

Fishers is a humble family restaurant. This superb business is full of character. The food is amazing, especially all their selection of fish I highly recommend. Service was excellent and very attentive. My friend is from Grimsby and he rates Fishers 10/10, this place felt like a dinner back home. There was a good mix of both locals and some tourists. The guy at the table next to us comes here since many years and he suggested their fish and chips are very popular and sometimes you even see celebs and famous footballers through their door! We had Haddock, Hake and Cod all were excellent and the price was the most reasonable in London. We enjoyed our dinner thoroughly, the most incredible fish and chips we had. Fresh and very tasty! You can’t beat the service and friendly atmosphere. Very prompt and efficient. Restaurant is very charming and Takeaway section is tastefully decorated with some of their awards for good food. We will be back again to try more dishes from their menus. Recommended!

We came for a takeaway about 9.30pm.Fish AND chips cooked fresh to order which I didn’t mind waiting for at all.Large haddock and plenty of chips, great portion and very tasty indeed!Situated on Fulham Road they all also have seating. Was extremely pleased to find this excellent fish & chip restaurant & was not disappointed. We started with Halloumi deep fried with chilli sauce just melted in the mouth. Followed by delicious cod in a lovely light crispy batter the cod was lovely & flakey inside just perfect. & the chips nice & crisp. You had the choice of the fish fried in batter steamed or grilled. The staff & owner extremely welcoming. I would certainly recommend Fishers for being one of the best Fish & Chips in London. They also do a very busy Takeaway.

Las papas fritas de este restaurante NO son papas fritas adecuadas, ¡conozco un chip de tienda de papas fritas adecuado cuando como una! Si va a cobrar un precio exagerado por sus artículos, debe ser de un nivel mejor que el de esta noche. Tus "patatas fritas" eran exactamente eso, patatas fritas, demasiado fritas y demasiado crujientes. Pobre. . .

La comida se hace fresca cuando la pides y el pescado no está congelado, es fresco todos los días. Los lugareños comen aquí y eso siempre es una buena señal.

The best fish and chips I've ever had in London. I've been meaning to go for ages, and finally we went today. It was delicious and cannot wait to go and eat in the restaurant once restrictions are lifted, and I will bring my friends it was so good.

One of the best quality fish and chips I've had in the UK. Fresh fish, light batter and didn't taste oily. A wide variety of choices of both chippy classics and other varieties of fish and seafood. The place itself is something between a chippy and a restaurant, well kept and clean. The staff is nice while also being really fast and efficient. Bearing in mind I come from a seaside town with pretty decent fish and chips, this was, by a country mile, the best fish I've ever had. The batter was wafer light, crispy and had zero grease. The fish itself was fresh, flaky and tender. Perfect. Friendly staff and a nice well kept shop. Cod and haddock were both extremely nice and justified its award winning status. Price was reasonable and the customer service was extremely nice all round. They were very accommodating. Must visit

My friends and I celebrated my birthday and the meal was fabulous and quite reasonably priced. We had salmon salad to start off with sole goujons, calamari, group seafood platter and for the mains we had cod, haddock, chicken burger, halloumi burger, steamed plaice as our mains with chips, mash and sweet potato fries. The food was well cooked, perfect blend of crispy batter on the fish. Chips were crispy and we also got some lovely homemade tartare sauce to along with these which was super delicious because we couldn’t resist to ask for a few more portions! Wine selection was also good, we shared bottles of Bodegas and Bella Modella. They don’t have an extensive wine menu but the quality of the wine was superb. Desserts were top and well decorated, not overly filling just the right portions.

Nous sommes allés manger un mercredi midi, bien accueillis, on a pris une entrée (des sortes de mozza sticks) qui étaient super bons avec la sauce épicée (je recommande vivement), puis le fish & chips habituel avec des patates douces. C'était très bon, j'ai demandé de la mayonnaise qui m'a été de suite servie, les quantités sont (peut-être un peu trop ?) imposantes, mais c'est un vrai régal, nous avons parlé un peu avec la serveuse qui parlait aussi français.

Primera visita desde la nueva propiedad, el servicio era irregular pero la nueva camarera tenía buenas intenciones. El bacalao fue probablemente el peor que he tenido, solo pudo raspar el pescado blanco de una piel masticable no comestible y masa masticable, este lugar fue el mejor, solo tomar el nombre no significa que puedas montar en las colas del abrigo del anterior propietarios a los 45. 00 para dos no volveremos.

Try the battered halloumi, it's insanely good. Great chips, and they're fab with recommendations if you don't know what to get. Always quality food and attentive friendly service, server last night (29/02.2020) was super lovely and made sure everything was just right. Great to sit in or take away, I always bring friends there - it's my go to chippy, which is saying something as there are a few closer to home!

A nice and cosy place to go for a super tasty fish and chips, fresh fish, crispy batter and you will find a good range of sides, grilled or steamed fish in the menu if you want. The service was excellent. We went for a traditional cod and grilled Haddock, everything was really good.

Totally recommend!! Lunchtime with my husband and two very good friends, Didn't catch her name but our waiter showed us to our table with menus and immediately brought us their fine house wine while we looked at the menus. She looked after us so well throughout and the wine was well recommended!! My companions both chose starter and main from the lunch menu. (Fish Salad, sharing platter, fish and chips, Chicken Burger, Saveloy with sides) . Delicious food in a very pleasant setting with staff watching for eye contact in case we wanted anything. We could see the busy chefs cooking away and the open kitchen views were superb. Loved the sea nets and especially the blue wall with fabulous paintings of the seaside, and the best of ambience. Fabulous in every way. Would recommend this place, must try...!!!

Second time here in less than a week. The cod is so good and so are the starters. I would say we're regulars now. Would definitely recommend it!

What a find! Can't praise this place enough. Cute inside, fresh fish, the batter, so light and crisp, the chips so tasty, coleslaw super delicious, tartar sauce yum yum and to top it off, we had a very lovely chat with the chef/owner Gill, which made this dinner tops. Cheers!

Excellent fish and chips. Very nice interior deco. Delighted to find a plate of very meticulously crafted food. Light batter on the fish. You can swap your chips for salad if you prefer a healthier option. Their tatar sauce is also amazing!

On voulaient manger un bon Fish&Chips...; et c’est exactement ce que l’on a fait! Et si on y ajoute un dessert « homemade » à la fin, c’est une très très bonne adresse mais faire un très bon repas.

I visited this lovely restaurant with my mum and two others guests on our last night in Fulham tonight. It was very busy in there but such a relief to receive a warm welcome from the staff and owner who went out of his way to help my disabled mum and make our visit so enjoyable.

I heard a lot about this place and the quality of the food. Had wonderful lunch with friendly staff. Best fish and chips, for me. This is the only place that I have been to that doesn't serve a cod drowning the plate with grease, would recommend to everyone!

Simply the best fish and chips that I have experienced in London. And I have sampled many fish and chips all over London in the fifteen years that I have traveled there for business and pleasure. The service is efficient and friendly. The atmosphere is warm, cozy and reminiscent of a restaurant near the sea.

Come here often for lunch. Portions are large at very reasonable prices. Very impressed with the quality of the food. Authentic as it should be. Fish and chips were fried properly and the batter was tasty and crispy. Not greasy at all. Lovely chatty staff. Great food. Classic environment with bubbly staff who go out of their way to accommodate the customers. Go their and get yourself a experience! Top notch food and 5 star service at this beautiful restaurant.

Nice little place, been coming here for years but never reviewed it before. Had to post something because the changes to this restaurant are incredible. It used to be a regular chippy and the food was fine but nothing special. Looks like it’s has a change of hand or maybe just refurbishment but the place looks completely different! It now resembles a bistro and fits in with Fulham’s character. Food has also improved massively. Fish n chips were pukka. Juicy and fat fish and solid good chips Crispy and soft.

Wanted to get my late Friday lunch at this friendly fish and chips shop . Has been my favourite for the past 2 yrs. but voila it’s now run by a different management. Staff is a complete new team.Last time I went was Sep 2019. I don’t think the service was as great - I think the chap who cooked the fish and chips for me was the ‘boss’ as I felt his aloofness and looked quite proud. The service is boringly mechanic. He wasn’t wearing the apron while cooking.My food was not drained long enough so tasted soggy. It affected my whole eating experience.have to start looking for another good fish and chips shop...

Firstly, I am a regular here and always enjoy the fish. It is cooked with oil at the right temp and so that batter is cooked perfectly, the fish is meaty and falls apart and large portion hangs satisfyingly over the edges of plate. Just as you would want. However the chips just aren't quite right. They are not bad but just aren't the chips that I remember getting wrapped in newspaper from chips shops by the sea. Those were softer and well, slightly soggy (I am sure there is a better adjective out there). These ones are too crispy and a bit dry. I know they care as I overheard them talking about how good the new potatoes tasted and I want them to succeed for purely selfish reasons! So if anyone knows how you can recreate that chip shop chip, please tell them, it would be the icing on the cake if I could eat perfect chips to go with my perfect fish!

Whilst on a weekend break to London we visited this restaurant for dinner. The owner who served us was absolutely lovely and the food was amazing. The atmosphere is great with music in the background and the service is very quick, especially considering how busy it was when we arrived. I can’t fault this place at all, the decor is stunning, portions are plentiful and the battered halloumi is to die for !! Would 100% recommend Sure you can get regular fried fish n chips here but it also offers something rather different !- steamed and grilled fish, battered halloumi and Vegan options too. Quality ingredients cooked to perfection-. Efficient and friendly staff, a very unique Fish and Chips Restaurant. Its good to be different! Can’t wait to come back again :)

Das sind die besten Fish and Chips, die ich in London gegessen habe. Die Panade ist schön knusprig, dünn und nicht so fettig wie bei vielen Anderen. Man schmeckt, dass sie immer frisch gemacht werden und nicht aufgewärmt oder noch einmal frittiert.

This petite F&C; restaurant always does its best to accommodate visitors, even at the busiest of times ie. when a local home match at Fulham FC is imminent. Staff are courteous and considerate at all times.

We took a cab to here, a bit far for us. Worth it. 5 of us. This is a very small place for seating a large group. 6 tables. the Cod fish and chips, large portions very good so don't order the large portions, waistfull. Even ask to not have so many Chips.

Had a wonderful dinner. The fish and chips were great as always and we always take home a portion of their tartare sauce! Having worked in a Fish and Chips shop for years whilst at uni, I know a real chip shop when I see one! This is a great local and what sets this place apart is the service and the fabulous food such as the chicken burger that came with Camembert and avocado! Who could have thought this is a winning combo! I couldn’t finish my meal the portions are quite big ! They offered to wrap it up for me and included some extra mango salsa for me. Looks like it has been redecorated and looks cute and romantic.

Each time we visit the area this is our go to place for delicious freshly cooked fish & chips (their chips are devine); and their seafood platters are beautiful. Your one stop shop for day or evening seafood heaven! They offer much more than just fish and chips with a great range of seafood on offer. Gets busy but swift service with everything cooked to order. Best fish and chips. Amazing service and food. Food was cooked fresh, and the tall young man (owner) was very chatty and friendly while we waited, the chips were perfect, lovey golden brown.The fish was superb, great meal.

Wanted to try this place out when I came to Fulham for the first time after few of my friends suggesting it. And till date, I've been there a few times and they don't disappoint. If you want one of the best fish and chips that you can get around the area, this is the place to be.

We visited London for Christmas 2019. No visit to England is complete without real Fish and Chips. After a long internet search, I found Fishers. Our AirB&B; was close by and the 4.8 stars convinced me we ought to try it. Oh my gosh, my haddock fish & chips were absolutely perfect. The chips were classic, and the fish...nearly melted in my mouth. The staff were incredibly accommodating of our party of 8 and the service was the best!!! Can’t wait to get back to London, so we an eat here again!!!

On our way to the place, we passed a few people who had take-away bags of food - all looking happy. We arrived, and there was a line at the takeaway counter, so we headed to the right for the seating area. Less than 10 tables but they found one open for us. Very casual atmosphere, but do not be fooled. Started with some beer, cider and hot tea (for me). The boys ordered Traditional Fish and Chips, and I opted for the grilled cod and sweet potato fries. All dishes were Simply delish!! Perfect way to let all of the traffic clear after the football game. No room for desserts, but they treated us to mini chocolates with the bill.
