A los dos nos encantó cada bocado. El pescado estaba fresco, las patatas fritas eran perfectas, la salsa tártara era la mejor que he probado. El servicio fue muy amable. Normalmente nos gusta visitar diferentes restaurantes cada vez que salimos, así que para probar diferentes lugares, PERO estamos ansiosos por volver a esta pequeña joya nuevamente. ¡Qué feliz de haber encontrado este lugar!

After a long day of walking in the city and couple of hours in the British Museum we went to this place to have fish and chips for the last time, when we are in the UK. The cod was tender a juicy but the coating was a little bit too saggy and oily. We also ordered some kalamari, which was overcooked, so it was a little bit chewy and had the same saggy, oily coating, that the cod had.

We visit the plaice after we have been to the british museum. The taste of the fish and chips was amazing. freshly prepared orange juice was nice to but The table next to us had korean fried chicken, that was the first time I have seen chiken looking that appatiting so before we leave will be back to try that. service was quick polite with a smile, which made the experiance even better. I reccomend to everyone to visit this plaice is great!!!!

Stopped here Saturday night on the way to a gig. Amazed how good it was as expected it to be aimed just at the tourist trade from the British Museum across the road. We had superb calamari, better than from many high class restaurants we’ve eaten at. Also had their special chicken and only ordered a 1/3 portion. Wow so much food, chips were very good and they give you a good portion of their own special tartar sauce. Again so good and the staff were really friendly. While it’s still London prices, you don’t mind when the foods this good. Thank you. PS the gig at the 100 club (The Wait) was pretty decent as well. Note it’s free parking along by the British Museum of an evening and there was plenty of space.

Debo decir que no me queria ir de Londres sin probar el fish & chisps y la verdad que acertamos cerca del hotel Royal National y del museo británico, lo hacen para llevar y optamos por esa elección, un gran trozo de pescado con patatas caseras y unos nuggets también con patatas fue lo que compramos estaba Riquisimo super recomendable, además de amables.

Lugar muito aquém dos padrões de atendimento de Londres. Fomos em uma unidade próxima ao British Museum (nāo sei se há outras). Comida ruim, batata frita oleosa. Mas o pior foi o garçom: pedi Coca zero e ele trouxe normal . Quando disse que havia pedido zero e ele veio com "você deveria ter me avisado". Ninguém fala assim com um cliente na Inglaterra. Nunca tinha visto isto antes . Não recomendo o local . Além de tudo , caro.

The problem with such a busy location close to the British Museum, which takes big tour groups is that take away orders get squeezed out. Having ordered a Haddock and chips takeaway (good value at £10 in Central London), I gave up waiting after over ten minutes when it was obvious that at least one new batch of both fish and chips would have to be cooked before I could be served. I don’t mind waiting if I’m dining in, but this was simply too long. Victim of their own success, I’m afraid. All I can say is that food looked lovely as it was taken past me for dine in customers!

Después del British Museum decidimos comer fish & chips. Tienes para llevarte, o para sentarte al final en unas mesas, es un poco más caro pero merece la pena para descansar. Por el reverso de la carta tienes en todos los idiomas el tipo de pescado que ofrecen. Para los niños tienes Nuggets de pescado o de pollo. A nosotros nos gusta mucho. La foto la saque cuando lo había partido ya... uno es de niños, el otro uno de los de adulto

El precio de la promoción de fish and chips con una lata de bebida para llevar es de 11 libras y la porción es grande, puede ser incluso para dejar bien a 2 personas.

This place was close to our hotel and a genuine "hole-in-the-wall" place that I tend to like. It was definitely good. Run by an old guy, possibly the owner, with a young guy doing tables, likely the son. Interestingly for US tastes the cod fillet which was perfectly done with a crunchy batter had a 'skin on' bottom side. Also the "chips" were really like 'chips', one-quarter inch by one-quarter inch by 2 inches long. They were definitely NOT "fries". And do have the "mushy peas", which is exactly what they are but a good accompaniment along with a London Pride brew.

Excellent fish and chips. The cod tasted fresh and it was perfectly cooked. Not greasy or soggy like a lot of places. Service is very friendly and efficient. Enjoyed talking with the cook as he recognized us on our second visit. Very nice gentleman. The restaurant is super clean. Love this place. It's on a small street perpendicular to the British Museum (address is 32 Museum Street.) Turn right as you exit the main museum entrance and you'll see the street shortly on your left. Restaurant is on the right. Can't rave enough about this place. Totally loved our lunches both times we ate there. Prices are reasonable for the neighborhood.

Stopped off here on a visit to the British Museum and was pleased we'd come. The portions were large and decent quality. London prices always get me, but it was location we were after and they let us have one portion of fish and chips to share between two children. No children's portions and no bread and butter with your order, nor tap water, plus a can of coke costing £2.75, were the downsides, but it got us out of the museum, the children ate and given that the cakes in the Museum cafe are almost £5 a slice, I guessed we didn't do too badly. Mostly tourists. Staff friendly and would recommend if you have two tired children as it is a mere hop, skip and a jump across from the Museum. They also do chicken nuggest and sausages.

Extremely Disappointing. We walked to people waiting for food. No queue, were completely ignored by gentlemen behind counter. Didn’t even say “be with you in a minute” Eventually got his attention by saying hello, he said wait! Then after a few minutes told us there would be a wait on food.

Io e la mia ragazza abbiamo scelto di provare il Fish Plaice semplicemente per comodità, poiché era a pochi passi dal British Museum. Il locale è gestito da cinesi (decisamente poco brittanici) ed i camerieri sono italiani, ma nonostante l'assenza di background inglese abbiamo mangiato benissimo. Abbiamo preso due porzioni di f&c; (abbondanti, non eccessivamente unti e particolarmente gustosi) ed abbiamo speso 25€ in due compreso il bere. Approvato! Unico neo: il posto è molto piccolo ed è scomodo passare da un tavolo all'altro.

The fish (cod; but haddock also available) was very good and plentiful, as were the chips. Bright, clean, casual restaurant just across from the British Museum. Must admit that after lunch we both felt stuffed, but it was good! Expensive for North Americans (but everything is in London) at about 30 BP for 2 fish and chips and 2 beverages. No mashed peas; fine by me!

Ubicado muy cerca del Museo Británico. Platos abundantes a buen precio. Pedimos Haddock (no sé exactamente qué pescado es, pero estaba bueno) y cod (bacalao). Los sirven acompañados de un bol de salsa tártara para acompañar, ya que los pescados en sí tenen poco sabor a pescado. Las raciones son abundantes, el pescado jugoso y las patatas crujientes, por lo que el resultado es sorprendentemente bueno. Con respecto al precio, tres pescados y un agua grande embotellada nos saló por algo menos de 50 libras. La cuenta se podría haber rebajado pidiendo "tap water" (agua del grifo, gratis) en lugar de embotellada.

Dispone de una gran variedad de pescado frito, aunque lo mejor es pedir el variado de fish and chips ya que puedes probar de todo un poco a buen precio y en gran cantidad. Además tienen diferentes cervezas locales. Sitio agradable y cómodo.

We were walking by and saw this place. Being extremely hungry, we decided to test our luck and asked the waiter about gluten free options. There would have been gluten free fish and chips, but my sister and I decided to take only chips and soup of the day (tomato). The chips were huge and with the tartar sauce very, very delicious. My husband and brother enjoyed their normal fish and chips very much. In a nutshell, the food was good, the portions very big, the service fast and good. I couldn't recommend more!

Surprising to find such good fish and chips in such a touristy part of London but they are really good! Maybe a bit pricier than normal but it is central London after all. But is totally worth it, the portions are huge and the fish lovely and fresh and the batter nice and crispy. And i really don't agree that the chips are frozen, they're great. As a Londoner myself I'm proud that tourists get to try a decent chippy when in central London! Plus the staff are lovely.

We were very disappointed with this meal. Frozen fish (£14.00), frozen chips. Curry sauce too thin, wouldn't stay on my fish. I had requested an instant coffee because they had cleaned the coffee machine, but it was undrinkable. It was the cheapest, nastiest caterers coffee, probably bought from a wholesalers.

Todos disfrutamos de nuestras comidas. El bateador en el pescado estaba crujiente y muy sabrosa. Las raciones eran muy grandes, así que se obtiene una buena relación calidad-precio. Está en una buena ubicación y está perfectamente situado después de un par de horas explorando el Museo Británico.
