Great place, lovely food, good service and buzzing atmosphere.

The quality of the fish is incredible, so fresh and flavourful. I went with some friends and it is a complete good value for money restaurant. Moreover the service was excellent and the waiters very caring and kind, I’ll definitely go back ☺️

This is our go-to place for fish when we fancy a plain no-fuss English style seafood meal. I have been there 4-5 times, each time the fish is always satisfying, apart from the first time when the chips were a bit soggy. This time both my friend & I had monkfish which was succulent & superbly cooked. Desserts were outstanding too. Excellent & personable service, rare these days. Love the fact that food is served on tables with white linen. Deco, on the other hand, is on the plain side.

Really excellent food, such fresh fish, chose from the specials board for well blended flavours. Meat eaters are also catered for with quality steaks etc. the staff are lovely. Fresh flowers on the tables, crisp linen table cloths. Lunch times can be quiet, Wednesday evenings often have live music. Highly recommended.

This local fish restaurant is a little-known gem. It serves up delicious, fresh fish and seafood dishes, followed by homemade desserts. The service is excellent and very friendly. A lovely experience!

Definitely a hidden gem in the area! The fish is so fresh and affordable. Service is attentive and polite and the price performance ratio is so high. We enjoyed our grilled fish dishes and will definitely come back for the lobster salad next time!

The food is cooked perfectly and the staff are so friendly. The "specials of the day" are superb and that includes the beef steaks- surprising as it is a fish restaurant. Recommended whole heartedly!

I had a takeaway fried cod. Simple but easy to get wrong. That never happened here, absolutely perfect, flaky and cooked to perfection cod meat. And, a crunchy crisp batter. The size was generous. I've been using this takeaway on and off for 30 years, I hope to use it for another 30!

This unassuming seafood restaurant tucked away in an estate in the East End of London never fails to deliver. Although its name leaves something to be desired, this restaurant brings together beautiful fresh seafood, charming, and exact service and leaves you feeling as though you've just been to an old friends for dinner and as satisfied as a full-body massage on a beach in southern Mexico. I had the cod and chips, served with a large plate of mussels. The mussels, plump and juicy, were cooked in a delicious tomato sauce, which I mopped up with the leftover chips accompanying my crispy battered cod. The fish itself was perfectly moist and flakey, the chips as you would expect from a top draw chippy. After feeling like I'd just conquered the world, mopping up the last of my accomplices dinners in the remains of my garlicky-tomato-mussely sauce, I requested the dessert menu. We ordered three of the restaurants' sweet offerings to share: amaretto crème brûlée, chocolate ganache cake, and sticky toffee pudding. The cake and pudding were delectable and filled that rich, sugary void left by the savoury courses. Unfortunately, the crème brûlée was not set properly and did not taste of almond. The waiting staff at Fish Central are all well schooled in proper table service. They are excellent at anticipating your needs, providing a leisurely but precise dinner service - something you rarely experience outside top restaurants. Fish Central is a staple for East Londoners looking for well-priced, high-quality seafood. Its date-night, a family reunion, a friends birthday, or dinner for one. They even have a takeaway next door! So next time you're wondering where to go for dinner at 8 pm on a Saturday night, this is THE spot head to.

Honestly, this is 5 stars all around. The staff here are excellent, the food options and quality are top notch, and there is a lovely ambience in this restaurant.

The best Fish and Chips in London. A genuine hidden gem. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, a real family feel. Importantly the Fish and chips are excellent at good prices too. The Cod is always big and succulent and I recommend the Rock and Skate wing too. Great daily specials board too. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Fabulous family business with great food and a bubbly atmosphere. The upstairs is perfect for private functions, too.

Einfaches Restaurant mit sehr köstlichen Meeresfrüchten und günstigen Preisen. Auf der Schiefertafel stehen die aktuellen Tagesangebote. Der Schwertfisch war der Beste, den ich je gegessen habe. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, das Ambiente etwas kahl, weiß und laut, aber völlig in Ordnung, ein eigener Stil. Ich werde definitiv noch einmal wieder kommen und andere Fischsorten probieren bei der guten Auswahl an verschiedenen Fischsorten. Ich kann diesen Ort auf jeden Fall empfehlen.

Seafood at its best! A bit pricey, but seafood should be, when its this fresh and in a landlocked city. Service is truly Italian, warm and welcoming and never rushing people. This is a truly special restaurant with a solid kitchen and solid hospitality, will be back!

Fish Central is all about fish and it is fantastic, like a hidden gem. First the food: it comes fast and is excellent, cooked and presented just right, especially for the reasonable price. Check the specials board on the wall as you enter. It is a small place, white tablecloths, a little noisy from all the happy conversations, families, friends. The waiters treat you like family and are extremely attentive. The ambiance is just right.

A sea food restaurant with a traditional fish and chips take away counter. I had a takeaway chip roll, one of my favourites, and in my view, a good litmus paper test. It was a good size portion and some very nice chips in a proper crusty bread roll. One massive downfall for me was that it's not self-service salt and vinegar. I can't emphasize it greater, How does anyone else know how much salt and vinegar I prefer, I'm a grown adult who doesn't need to nanning : its insulting. Hence, the lower scoring. The roll and chips were banging, and the service was swift. It can be found off Central Street in a pedestrianised square behind a small park.

I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating my birthday last night at Fish Central. From the word go the they were the definition of accommodating, the food was cooked excellently, portions were generous and the waiting staff were totally charming. It's hard to find places that still do it like Fish Central does it in London. Thanks for making it such a memorable night, I will definitely be back. Much love.

I go here from time to time, and to be honest, it’s a bit hit-and-miss. Fish and chips is my favourite comfort food, and generally the quality here is good. The last time I visited, though, the plaice was definitely on the turn. Guys, this absolutely should not happen. If you have fish that you know is past it (ammonia smell, mushy texture) then you should not serve it and expect someone to pay over £10 for it. I would’ve said something, but I couldn’t bear a scene.

What a wonderful place! This restaurant looks simple but you get really good, tasty and fresh food in your plate. The price are more than fine in regards to the quality you get in the plate. Staff is super nice. I will definetely go there again.

Always busy, very warm lovely family run restaurant. Very very generous portions of everything we ordered, from mussels, skate to seafood spaghetti and they do a fab sticky toffee pudding. Would recommend and been here twice.

Early dinner, didn't wait to be seated. Started w/appetizer of grilled scallops. Cooked as I asked, delicious. Main entrees was grilled salmon. Salmon arrived cooked ro my specifications however no seasoning. I added lemon & salt to taste. Staff was very attentive, chef even came to the table. Visiting from the States but would eat here again.

Amazing restaurant with the best service. My husband and I went for dinner on a Friday night - we had Oysters which were so fresh, my husband had the Cod and Chips and I had the Seafood Spaghetti. Food was well made and our server Sergio was exceptional. Can't wait to visit again.

The fish tasted nothing, overly oily for our meal. Ordered child food bit came in an adult portion. We needed to add lots of salt and ketchup to it. The chips were not fried long enough. Don't know if we got the bad cook, the restaurant seemed full and popular. But won't come back to try another time!

I ordered seafood spaghetti. I also got a complimentary surprise from the hotel, a dish made of salmon and cod fish.

Best seafood dishes I've taste for a while yet and was so pleased this was near my doorstep. The staff were friendly, attentive and generous with their time & service, going above & beyond for each of us. A real friendly atmosphere where I witnessed many a family coming in for their fish suppers that appeared to be weekly regulars. I will definitely being going back here and would love to take family too.

Went there for my birthday. I ordered oysters, one of which tasted off. I complained and the waiter said he would get me another one. I asked again still no oyster. Food was nice but found the fish to be rather bland. No birthday song either

A very popular and busy place, we managed to get a table but best option is reserved seating for 3+ people. Looking forward to a return visit. Such a variety of dishes and good for families and disabled customers.

This is a proper fish restaurant, not your middle of the road fish 'n chips place. It's a tad too noisy for my taste. A few more fabrics would help. I am missing the fish soup they used to serve. It was delicious. Great place. Looking forward to coming back there.

I booked visit via Quandoo for a couples Good Friday Meal, confirmed by phone and arrived 9ish... greeted cordially and given choice of 3 tables in busy, clean and well lit restaurant. Large groups of fabulous families, funky friends and cute couples throughout. Introduced to the jovial and attentive Diego who took our drinks order and humorously but clearly deciphered the menu, options and our dietary concerns. My Queen went for the Squid, Halibut and Rice Pudding, while I chose the scallops in bacon and (melt in my mouth) Dover Sole. Paired these with Rosé and Cider. During starter the manager came over to ask how the meal was. "I may have to make a complaint make", he looking shocked I replied "yes, I may have to call the Police, I feel like your chef has just had sec in my mouth, IT'S DELICIOUS". This was our virgin visit to this restaurant and definitely won't be the last being so accessible, but clean and with impeccable service and consideration. Felt obliged to leave an adequate tip and give thanks to the manager, J and Zaya who also gave us some scones from their bakery next door to take home to enjoy. I understand why they've been there for nearly 50 years serving love food daily.

who knew? really excellent old school Italian fish restaurant that’s attached to a chippy next door (as a Glaswegian this is the ultimate sign of a good fish restaurant) large portions, good value, a genuinely interesting and changing specials board, white tablecloths, older european waiters who are kind, thoughtful and attentive. I’ve been a few times now and it’s really just an excellent place to eat fish (fried, grilled, baked whatever) hidden gem hiding in plain sight
