Rooms are poor quality If you just want to eat fried food or very basic sandwiches this is the place for you. Expensive for what you get.

in thu 03/21/24 got small breakfast and pot of coffee and toast was well done great place very clean and the staff are very helpful friendly and tell other people and ones who here for a holiday AWESOME

Was there for a meal only so can't comment on rooms or room service. As for the food, it was nice, well presents, tasty, filling and not to expensive . Would recommend to others

I would like to thank the staff and management on behalf of Rosemary Drama Group Belfast who stayed at Fir Trees for the Ulster Drama Festival at Alley Theatre Strabane 2024. The hospitality and service was excellent, and the rooms were more than adequate. Thanks so much for the warm welcome. We will be back !

Had a birthday celebration here recently. The staff were excellent especially Joe and Danielle. Constantly checking everyone was ok, very efficient, helpful and friendly. The food was amazing and the music. Thank you everyone 😊

The,Sunday carvery was lovely great choice and value for money

Your meau's need to be replaced. By newer one your one is dirty. The sweet menu is even worse. One good thing is your fish and chips 1st class. We are coming tomorrow for a meal all 3 of us. I

Went for a meal and food was lovely and good value for money, staff very nice

Staff were great. Food was OK and reasonably priced. Room was cold as heating was poor. Overall the room looked tired and needed some attention.

As i have stayed here a number lf times in the past, i didnt think i would have any problems, but i was very disappointed, a hotel that doesnt have disabled access , the lift was sitting idle. I had to try and help my disabled mother up 10 steps to the room and the night mare of the return descend. I had requested a disabled access. Nobody got back to me to inform me of the lack of these facilities. She was unable to shower as there was no secure rails in the shower. The Lovely staff couldnt appoligies enough for the inadequate facilities.

This was an excellent place to go and enjoy! Great food, people and service. So lovely to be able to sit inside in a cosy environment, beautiful building, I would highly recommend it!

We went for meal there last nite table was four 7 arrive 6 45 order drink was ask to sit it hall drinks would b brought out 7 25 we had ask the lady who took the order she said not b to long walk by us other five times then a member of staff a man ask us if we were ok explain to him he had drinks within 5 mins got took into dinning room. Half 7 one young man on his owe didnt come to take our order at 8 o clock we call him over to ask for menu he explained he hadn't no alacart menus it b ten mins 10 past 8 call him over again he then went got menus didnt get ordering to half 8 table book for 7 came out with the starter were cold sent them back order other drink had to ask four times he said there lost order waiting other 15 mins hubby went got drink himself in bar when main s came out there were nice but forgot side and sauce we had food nearly finishes when there can the young man explain there were given to other table l ask him was there mo other staff he said no we understaff we didnt order dersert as it was to late very disappointing from start to finish

Was in her to day for Sunday dinner we were in at 3 o clock I had my twin girls age 20 months and 2 friend with another child age 3 once we ordered and got are starters we had been waiting an hour and 10 mins for are main to come out children were sitting with no food that whole time we had to end up asking wat was going on as u could imagine with 3 young children at that age they were getting fed up once food was eventually brought out they walked away with seeing did we need anything else had to go looking for more drinks and space etc a table of 4 and 6 were in after us and were all up and away as we were half way threw are main then we sat waiting for 20 mins before calling some one to take dessert order and once we spoke to them about they didn't seem to care my one the way out on of my twins ran behind the reception and the women behind was so cheeky about it just was awful treatment

Where I always stay, when in Strabane. The hotel is modern, clean, with competent and helpful staff, and many amenities. Prices aren't cheap, but they are reasonable and they have facilities to accommodate various social functions, such as wedding receptions, retirement parties, and the like. Beyond the specifics of the hotel, Strabane is a lovely, wee town, situated right on the border between the six counties and the 26, and very close to all the historic and cultural offerings of Derry.

We were a party of 4, celebrating my niece’s birthday. It was a Tuesday evening, and there were a surprising number of diners, perhaps because of the 25% discount for food, but certainly because of the quality of the food and the charming efficiency of the staff, under the leadership of Joseph. Well worth a visit. Any time!!

We go often to the fir trees for lunch it’s only 4.95 for the lunch and there’s always a few dishes to chose from , it’s always a great meal no matter what we choose, we have tried lots of different dishes in the fir trees and we have never been disappointed, we have had family and friends from England, Newry and strabane to the fir trees with us to lunch and evening meals and always excellent, the staff are always very friendly

Ate in the restaurant, could not fault the staff or food. All staff we met were so friendly and there was a great atmosphere. The food was amazing! Chicken tacos a must as well as hosin duck and the bill was very reasonable. We definitely will be back!

Friendly place, pleasant staff, nice atmosphere and food mostly good. The chips let the meal down, however. When I paid, the staff member asked me what I thought about the meal. I commented that the chicken was excellent, but the chips were very poor; I got no response whatsoever.

Have an allergy. Was told by staff "should have gone to oysters". Terrible choice for allergy sufferers made no effort to make food taste good, was so bland. Was throughly disappointed. Its 2019 they need to move with the times. No vegan options either

We regularly have Sunday lunch in the fir trees.It is always good and the staff are excellent but lately we have noticed that the tea and coffee is Luke warm. Yesterday we got the tea directly after it was brought out and it was quite cool.Apart from this complaint , lunch at the fir trees is great value and a pleasure to visit

Just returned from a 4 days stay at this lovely hotel. Great accommodation all refurbished this year. Excellent food and wide choice on menu. First class service by a very friendly and professional staff team who can't do enough for you. Highly recommended and looking forward to our next stay there.

Met family and friends from Strabane, Derry, Glasgow, and Edinburgh and we stayed at the Fir Trees Hotel. We ate several meals there and the food was excellent and the staff very friendly and kind. Very happy with the whole experience!

Stayed here for one night....had dinner in the bar. Was good food . I had one of their burgers which was very good. My husband had chicken and steak which he thoroughly enjoyed. He felt his portions were a little small.. but overall we both enjoyed our meals .

The food was fantastic. Great menu with wide range of choices. I had the blackened salmon which was very tasty with a fantastic sauce and basil mash. Friend had duck which was also very food. This place e has very friendly staff and is well worth a visit. Reasonably priced as well.

Meal was beautiful and staff was brilliant

We had booked for 4 people (our Mum & her 3 daughters) and had the most wonderful, fresh & tasty spread. Service staff were very attentive & friendly. It was a busy afternoon but we were in a quiet part of the dining room and felt in no rush to leave. Some of us upgraded to a prosecco 'tea' - all such a very reasonable cost.

Dinner was a nightmare had to wait in line for 40 minutes when I finally got it could not eat it will have no desire to ever go back

I wholeheartedly endorse the previous review by Departure44761 having attended the same function at which 58 ladies approx attended - I must add that all meals were pre ordered - my meal was fair - plates and vegetables including the room was cold - i was very disappointed overall as I have attended various functions in a different room where staff and food was excellent - I must also point out that the Fir trees were chosen as a new venue for our dinner - the general consensus is that the ladies will not want to visit in the near future!!!

A REAL Homely Restaurant and both the Food and Staff are 10/10. I COULDN'T recommend it highly ENOUGH.

We haven't been in here in a while and thought we would call in on Saturday late afternoon.

Waitresses were wandering around aimlessly with no idea where to go and who to serve. The food came out intermittently to different tables. Hot starters were cold and by the time the main course was being served out the plates were cold. The vegetables which were cold were brought out at different stages on a soup plate. Some ladies weren't able to eat their beef and a few dishes had to be sent back! The two dishes which were meant to be supreme of chicken were served as peppered chicken! These were served so late that there wasn't time to ask for a replacement. When asked for extra vegetables they never appeared. The chocolate dessert was not eaten by most ladies who received it. What was supposed to be a special occasion turned out to be a dreadful experience.

A busy place at lunch time which meant service was a little slow. Food is good. They do a couple of specials which are very reasonably priced. When ordering drinks be sure to say no ice if that is your preference

Had dinner here last night, staff kept appearing at the table with food and drink for other tables, not sure why they don't know which table the food/drink is for? bit confused.

Must say food was absolutely amazing and very cheap desert was awesum to. Place was well packed and staff were quick with your order

My daughter and her 2 wee mates went to avail of the cinema package during the week. All went well till they ordered there dessert. They brought my daughter the wrong thing and she explained it wasnt what she ordered. The girl did change it but then another member of staff came over and asked her could she just not of ate it. Would she have asked that if it had if been a group of adults? Surely if u are a paying customer you deserve the same rights. They were so embarrassed as they are not very confident. It was a wee special occasion for them and took alot of persuading for them to go on their own. Not a great experience for them.

Stayed here on business many times and found it to be an excellent hotel. Good food reasonable prices friendly atmostphere.

went back today after our previous visit 3 weeks ago and it was just as fantastic. plenty of choices especially for my 13 year old and Mum. food was lovely and hot and the beef is melt in the mouth, the nicest I have had in a long time.

The Fir Trees is one of the best eating experiences on this planet and then to top it off you get 30% off your mains on a Wednesday. Apart from the economics it is consistently good food and really you have to try it yourself as I feel that my words cannot do it justice. You just have to try it or you will miss a feast fit for a king.

Having lived in strabane for 12 years, there are places that you say you should only visit once for fear of disappointment the next time. The fir trees hotel is the exception. I've stayed there as a guest, eaten as a dinner and even used the business and convenient facilities. The most striking feature of the hotel is the cuisine. It is second to non and truly outstanding. If you get the Sunday carvery, you will be ruined for restaurants afterwords. Yes, the food is that good. Please, don't just take my word for it. If you're passing through strabane or want somewhere awesome to eat, there's no better place than the For Trees Hotel.

Went to the Fir Trees last Thursday for a meal with family and great value for money especially with the 25% off offer. Portions were very good and apart from having quite a wait for our meal because it was very busy we were very impressed with the food and service. Moved out into the nice area in the hotel reception after our meal to meet up with more family and friends and found this ideal for a group of 20 plus.

Absolute disgrace. Waited over an hour for food. Never came and had to go and check with staff. Who were less than helpful. Avoid at all costs. Shocked it's still in business

We stopped in on Thursday afternoon- I have visited here before, and always got good food and service. Today was no exception- the bar was busy but we got served fast and the serving staff were afftentive. The food - as always was wonderful we had goujons and panini. It is very inexpensive and really worth going to.

Excellent meal and Caroline in the nicest possible waitress. The actual place is so inviting inside especially nowadays when everywhere is overdone. Definitely be back.

Visited here on a number of occasions always received great food and service, although can vary depending on how busy they are. On quieter days its fantastic on busy days it could be rather hectic/slower.

It's the best place I have been to

We called in to this hotel last weekend for lunch. We hadn't booked and we're greeted and told there could be a wait. Joseph was very polite and helpful and got us a table as soon as he could. The place was packed and very busy. When we got out table soup was served and we helped ourselves to the enormous array of food on offer. The waitresses and bar people all looked happy and friendly. The food was really good and the chef on the carvery made sure we got ample on our plates. I would definitely recommend here for Sunday lunch.

my wife and myself have paid a visit to the hotel for lunch on 2 occasions,the staff were more than helpful,very friendly gave us advice on the menu, on both occasions we took the special, it was excellent, plenty on the plate well presented and served with a smile, we will call for lunch once per week here as we pass it on our travels, the price was very good value for money ,i would recommend this eatery to anybody

The food at hotel is good but the whole place is dated and the toilets were filthy some family members were booked in and they said the shower was abysmal and was only a trickle they would not stay here again

I visited the fir trees when I was looking at wedding venues and it is spectacular. The staff were extremely accommodating and gave us heaps of information. We haven't picked a venue yet but it's definitely on the short list.

food very good in hotel .dont stay on a night that a wedding is going on .we got no ssleep until 3 am .
