Fintons Cafe & Bakehouse in Erewash

Despite being really busy when we visited the service was quick and friendly and the food arrived quickly. Good menu, delicious food (with fantastic cakes) and big portions. A fantastic little cafe.

An extremely nice eggs Royal, with extra bacon cooked to perfection, followed by one of the best fruit scones with cream and jam I have ever had outside of my mum's. Definitely worth a visit, and as Arnie said" I'll be back".

One of my favourite spots for cakes and catch ups in the area. I love all the homemade cakes. Especially when cornflake tart is made! A great spot for breakfast and lunch. Worth a visit for sure!

Unfortunately we can't comment on the food as we left before trying any due to poor customer service and general lack of consideration for customers. We weren't allowed to sit on a table for 4 as there were only 2 of us and yet there were quite a few of them available! We were then offered a table for 2 but there was about a 3 inch gap between the tables and we would have felt we were having lunch with strangers especially as we wanted to have a private conversation. We then did get a table for 2 but we were near the door and it was left wide open and it was very cold so we asked politely if the door could be closed, and another table had also said they were cold, but we were told that it couldn't be shut because the kitchen staff wouldn't like it as they were hot in the kitchen!!!! Surely they must have had a back door they could leave open or a fan they could put on. Goodness knows what will happen in the depths of winter but fortunately we won't know as we don't intend to return. We then went to the lovely Canal Cottages cafe in Draycott and had a lovely meal with good customer service. Plus it was lovely and warm on a cold October day!

Excellent local cafe. Service is always warm and friendly. Food excellent especially the grilled cheese and breakfast ciabatta. Highly recommended!

Been meaning to call here for a while, finally made it today and wasn't disappointed. A warm, friendly welcome awaits you on entry ,we booked a table ahead, which is a wise move as it is a busy place. We opted for the Stilton,cream cheese ,walnut and mango chutney sandwich on thick granary bread, what a flavour combination, it was delicious and as far as a sandwich goes it is probably the nicest I've ever had! There is a lovely selection of cakes to choose from, we chose the Ninaimo and a white chocolate and peanut butter blondiè, these again were both delicious, all washed down with a lovely cappuccino . Service was excellent, will definitely visit again when in the area.

Took a friend there for a mid day meal. They take notice of allergies. The meals were nicely presented. Very popular with mothers and young families. We had the Eggs Benedict that was rather pleasant. When in the area it is worth a try.

Lovely cup of fresh leaf tea! Seriously makes all the difference and a yummy giant sized slice of bakewell tart. Not from the area, just popped in on my way by so was happy to get such a nice cuppa. Thank you!

Absolutely disgusting the prices they charge at this place. They think by calling it a bake House that it puts them on par with Gordon Ramsey or something. No duck definitely not it's just a very expensive cafe

Great doorstop bread for toast here and very good choices. As its a bakery they do a range of cakes. And a good cuppa too😁

I went with a group of friends, i used to work with. We was all very happy with the choice, and service, some things were a little pricey.

The staff were very busy, so I do understand but I found the wait too long. It was very noisy so not really my ideal place. It was lovely and clean and the staff were doing their best to get through everything and keep people served. It was very busy so I can see a lot of people enjoy it here. It just want tranquil enough for me.

Absolutly lovely place.. They very kindly allowed me to adjust the menu to suit the complex dietary requirement of the gentleman I support, even though very busy, which I really appreciated.. Their salads are varied, fresh and beautiful, all home made food & cakes.. gorgeous. We will be returning definatly

Really nice atmosphere and excellent quality food. Prices were all reasonable and staff were friendly. Good Covid-mitigating measures, such as sanitiser by the doors and plenty of ventilation. More than adequate parking for the size of the café.

Amazing gf and df cakes! As a newly diagnosed coeliac ith a lactose intolerance, I have found this beautiful little cafe that does sensational cakes that I can actually eat at. Will 100%be visiting again.

Great food, especially the homemade quiche and salad. And the cakes are amazing too!! Would definitely recommend if you're local. Their takeaway service through lockdown has been a weekly treat on my walks.

Great service from friendly staff. They're serving takeaway at the moment and the quality of the food is excellent. Best cheese scone I've ever eaten. Really generous portion sizes and the hot drinks are very tasty. Cakes are also delicious.

Lovely little cafe. Staff very friendly. My partner is a coeliac and we felt very safe eating there, as the owner's two daughters are both coeliacs, so very clued up on cross contamination etc. We had a lovely full English breakfast. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Always a pleasant welcome awaits you & a great place for home made cakes, love the fruit scones with a nice decaf tea. Always a large selection on offer, reasonably priced, but always full of flavour. Take a trip out & I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

This is a wonderful place to eat in Draycott between Derby and Nottingham. Wonderful home made quiches, sandwiches, salads and cakes. Highly recommend.

Always great food. Very helpful. Quite busy when we arrived but they helped find a table coming free. A bit noisy but that proves how popular this place is.

We decided to go to Fintons and have a breakfast last Saturday. We did not book and found all tables and even the more relaxed area all taken. We offered to wait for a table,the lady very kindly asked a couple who were having coffee and cake if they would mind moving to a place that had been vacated but didnt have a table just a coffee table. They obliged and the staff cleared the table and we were able to enjoy our lovely breakfast. The care that was taken made us feel really valued as a customer and of course the quality of the food is always very good. We really rate this place and will be back soon

I made a visit here for a business related meeting at mid-morning on a Tuesday.The venue was pleasant and the service was ok for the number of patrons.I didn't try any food or cakes on this occasion but the tea (made with leaves) was good.

We went to Fintons the other day and I was amazed by their wide range of gluten free options. So many cafes and restaurants claim to be gluten free friendly but only offer 1 or 2 things to eat, however Fintons has a wide selection of cakes, quiches, scones, and can make most things on the menu suitable for somebody who is gluten free. I was so impressed. The quality of food is astounding and the women working there on the day were really friendly and helpful.

First visit to Fintons and thought it was just 'ok'. It was very busy, which is always a good sign, but it was very noisy and the noise carried throughout the building and was a bit off putting. I struggled to choose something off the menu as I wasn't fancying breakfast type food as it was early afternoon and nothing really appealed to me. I did opt for a sandwich and the bread was lovely and thick but the chicken was very dry I thought. I did think that the prices were a bit on the expensive side for what you got, comparing them to other places . I would give it another go and the staff were all lovely and friendly.

For me this is a coffee shop that can't quite decide what it is... Greasy spoon or boutique tea shop? It kind of lives in the middle. Perhaps if it had a better ventilation system and they got rid of the plastic tablecloths it would swing more towards the boutique feel. Good try... Check out Appletree for a better example

This is modern village coffee shop with good coffee and good food. That's what I needed!

A delightful cafe. Friendly staff. Freshly baked delicious food. Daily specials refreshed regularly. Popular and often very busy. Relatively expensive for a two course meal and a drink. Capacity sometimes limited as tables sometimes prebooked for birthdays etc

A lovely warm homemade scone with friends. The scone was fresh and warm it tasted amazing. Very friendly staff and pleasing atmosphere the inside is very clean and welcoming. Highly recommend a visit :)

As a regular visitor to Finton's for an afternoon snack I recently pushed the boat out and went to sample the breakfast menu with my mum earlier this week. Whilst we were still a few minutes too early to be able to park in the carpark round the back, our 10:15 arrival led to us experiencing an unusual lull in business as the breakfasting couples and yummy mummies who'd dropped the children off at school were leaving but the ladies who lunch and the yummy mummies with preschool aged children had not yet arrived. After reading the breakfast menu (which is served all day) and looking to the table next to me with their creamy scrambled eggs and rocket on toast and the fruity granola served in a sundae glass, I decided not to push the boat out after all and instead default to my usual cheesy beans on toast with a cup of tea, as did my mum. There was a little confusion at this point as we were asked when ordering if we wanted cheese on toast with beans or beans on toast with cheese, however they were accommodating changing the order around. Whilst the tea was a little slow in arriving the food came in a reasonable time frame. Interestingly the cheese on toast came with salad whereas the beans did not, however both came on slices of delightfully thick bread (I opted for one white, one granary) that kept me full for hours. Sadly the cheese accompanying the beans on toast was in a ramekin to the side and subsequently there was minimal melting, a personal bug bear of mine - this was especially disappointing as previous visits have resulted in a gloriously cheesy beany mix which is what I'd expect from cheese and beans on toast. After a pleasant enough meal we choose a blueberry crumble slice and a gluten free chocolate caramel cake from the large selection to tak  home (around £4.50). The crumble slice was reportedly delicious, however the cake was quite dry when not eaten with the caramel buttercream. All in all worth a visit, with numerous gluten free and vegetarian options, just make sure you get your timings right if you don't want to be eating amongst toddlers.

Absolutely love this place for breakfast/ lunch. The quiche is out of this world as are the garlic mushrooms on ciabatta. Cakes are superb too and even better blankets are provided to keep off the chill if youd like to sit outside. Thankyou fintons xx

We found Fintons a very well presented and comfortable cafe with good food. Homemade scones and cakes were a real treat and the staff were lovely.

Great location in Breaston, Derbyshire. The food is excellent, my favorites include their delicious poached eggs on toast...( all the breakfast menu is lovely) and the quiche. their cakes and scones are huge and amazing. they do Gluten free and special dietary requests. The team are very friendly and helpful.

Came here yesterday for afternoon tea, and what a fantastic tea room. The ladies were lovely and really looked after us and the food was just out of this world. As Arnie said I'll be back!!!

Went in for a late breakfast and was pretty full (always a good sign). Full breakfast which was well cooked and fresh. Lovely coffee.

Perfect lunch, highly recommended

Went with a friend for breakfast this morning around 9:45. I wanted a full English but wanted poached instead of scrambled and they were happy to do so. Good came out quickly and was hot, service was great and the young girl behind the counter was doing great to keep a calm head when they got busier around 10:45. Had some cornflake tart (recommended by a friend) and a giant Viennese Whirl to take away and my partner really enjoyed them ! Thanks!

My husband and I have just had afternoon tea here and it was very nice!I’m Coeliac and the gluten free afternoon tea I’ve had in the past at other places have always been a bit disappointing.Everything here was fresh and delicious with a great variety of treats. Really good value at £12.95 a head including our tea and coffee.I loved the way it was served too. The picnic bench was great and less girly than the flowery china that you often get.We’ll definitely be coming back!
