Finkle & Green in Stockton-on-Tees

Booked a table, turned up lights were off, gates were locked. No contact from Finkle and Green to say it was closed. Avoid.

Booked Finkle & Green for a meal on Friday evening (pre-show). Had a confirmation email of the booking on Thursday. Turned up on Friday evening to find everything locked and in the dark. No contact at all from ResDiary (the booking engine) or F&G

We arrived around 1:40, took a while to figure if we could use the car park or not as not clearly stated you’re able to use it on a Sunday. As we arrived we were told there’s no Yorkshire puddings as the ‘oven is broken’. We said it was ok but as we sat down began to contemplate what that meant for the rest of a Sunday Roast. We ordered; roast chicken and roast beef. They’re to be accompanied by mash, roast potatoes/veg, normal veg and gravy. It took about half an hour for the food to arrive. It was warm at best. Everything was roasted, so we were confused why they said no Yorkshire Puddings if the oven was working. The additional veg and gravy didn’t arrive until 5-10 mins after the main plate of warm food, so the food just wasn’t enjoyable. Also, it was definitely gravy from gravy granules lol. I’m most confused as to why they still thought it was fine to charge the same price for a Sunday roast when there were advertised items missing and nothing offered in replacement. The coke and Diet Coke were flat and tbh I don’t know why we ended up paying at all.

The food here is amazing and in my view the best Sunday Lunch in the area by far, staff are all excellent and very friendly.. Great place for top food with friends and family.. Recommend.

This is the second time we have visited. We arrived and it was a Friday night but extremely quiet. Seated promptly but had to go to the bar to ask to order drinks and food. We where told that there was a wait on food as they had a party of 40 upstairs and they had been focusing on that but they hadn’t turned up and told someone would be over to take food order. We waited about 20 mins before someone took our order. While we where waiting the staff just seemed to be aimlessly walking around cleaning empty tables. Food came out all separate times and was the wrong order. We got one tapas then waited about 15/20 mins for the rest. Had to go back over to the bar to reorder drinks as staff didn’t bother to notice empty glasses. When food finally came it was nice enough but the service would probably stop me going back. It was like that (slow) the first time but thought we would give it a second try. Get the service sorted and you will have it spot on

We pre booked a table for 8.15pm last night. Arrived and waited 5 minutes before someone came to see us and take us to a table (wasn’t even that busy).. asked straight away what drinks we want, asked for a couple mins to decide…. 15 mins later, still no sign of anyone so went to the bar to be told would be over in few mins, another 10-15 mins later we walked out!! So god knows how long the service would have taken if we actually ordered food, let alone drinks! Horrendous service!!! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Plenty of staff but no one even acknowledged us, would prefer to talk behind the bar or clear a few glasses off tables and wonder around aimlessly. Ended up going to another restaurant close by and thankfully had a lovely night.

Just had a pretty disappointing Sunday lunch at this place today , it didn’t start off too well as we were greeted by a member of staff smoking a cigarette in the porch entrance to the restaurant - after entering had a nice waitress who offered us drinks which were lovely porn-star martini cocktails. 2 for £10 , However after receiving our starters - both of which were pretty standard prawn cocktails. Our main Sunday lunch came which were both sirloin beef. The beef was cold , raw and about an inch thick with the fat not rendered down - it smelt as if it had just been took out of the packet and not cooked - veg was hard , potatoes dry and hard - overall was not a great experience - however I didn’t cause a scene and went quietly over to the bar area and had a quiet word with the staff - so that the other couples around us weren’t put off - The bar staff were helpful and i offered to pay for my drinks but was reluctant to pay for my meal . However after one of the girls having a word with the chef they would only deduct with beef - which left me with paying a bill of £28.50 still … I’m not one to leave negative reviews - and I would of left it if they had just said dont pay for the Sunday dinner . Not sure how they come to work out the bill , but I won’t be returning in the future. Also I’m pretty sure one of the chefs came out to see who I was whilst I was at the bar , trying to sort the bill out - which Left me feeling uncomfortable .

We had such a fabulous Christmas party at Finkle & Green. Everything was perfect. The venue stunning, table set beautifully, the staff were amazing and very helpful and polite. The food was unreal. The turkey meal is definitely the best I've ever had for a works Christmas do and the festive parmo, pure genius. The atmosphere and music were also spot on.

Excellent service which matched the food. We went there because the restaurants in Stockton were really busy with an act on at the globe. What a treat the food was to die for

Oh wow decided to go to this up and coming eatery on its opening night and we were not disappointed from greeting at the door to the amazing waiting staff we were made to feel welcome, amazing nibbles to wet our appetite who knew whipped ricotta could taste so good and omg squid ink crackers wow fantastic atmosphere definitely recommend we will be back it's about time Stockton had some high end food at amazing prices
