Such a shame! Lovely venue but the food was exceedingly poor - a salad of basically dry cous cous and a couple of leaves, dry focaccia with barely any filling and lemon drizzle cake which was dry and didn’t taste of lemon! 😞 so disappointing

Haven't had chance to try food due to shocking customer service.. 1st time we visited we were told in no uncertain terms they were not serving food, asked for a black coffee. Not serving coffee.. large coffee machine at the end of the bar and would honestly have been happy with an instant coffee.. today popped in they'd just opened but want £10 a ticket as they had a jazz quartet on.. at the end of the day we wanted to eat, did not know the band so headed over the road to the Royal Oak..

Wonderful dining experience. A good friend who has moved to the area took us here for lunch and it was an amazing Sunday lunch. Looks nothing from the outside but don’t be fooled everything here is first class. Quirky furniture, excellent food and splendid local ales. We had 2 x lamb sandwiches which were superb and 1 x fish chowder which my wife assured me is the best chowder she’s ever tasted! Bill came to less than £30 for three of us. What makes the place exceptional is the maitre d’ and his wife who will both engage with you in different but lovely ways. Genuine characters who will no doubt make a success of this venture. Warm, friendly and a bit eccentric. Huge wood fired pizza oven nicely dominates an inventive interior. Rhodri and his French wife Beatrice are full on! The food is very very good, simple and rustic, the pizzas, (we had 16 of them) were superb - we were advised to share, we ignored that and I ate cold pizza at home for the following two days! At £12 a pizza this is great value as one feeds two. They cook to order so food came out slowly but that added to the evenings fun, mainly due to the two real ales and five ciders served from the barrels behind the bar to which we gave some attention. A real gem in Fishguard, which as a small town has struggled in recent years. One change to recommend - change the dog policy to dog friendly! I did ask if we could bring the dog in and was quoted the usual health and safety nonsense. In a competitive market why alienate one third of your customer base when other restaurants welcome them? Will be going again!

The sausage rolls looked amazing so asked my son if he wanted to share one with me, but he didn't. I had a sausage roll, my other half had a cheese oggie and my son had a honey & banana crepe. All three were absolutely delicious, but especially the sausage roll! I encouraged my son to taste the sausage roll after which we couldn't leave without buying one to take with us because he liked it so much! I wish we'd planned to spend more time at lunch because we could happily have spent hours looking at the decor and artwork and sampling all the drinks (especially the local cider).

We were just wandering around Fishguard and had we not paused outside a gloomy entrance, the appearance of which was more in keeping with a Masonic temple, we would have missed this discovery. We were only seeking a light lunch. Had we been staying in Fishguard we would have returned for dinner. Service was 100%. Perhaps a little pricey for what we had but any port in a storm and we had the mother of such that week.
