Fellpack in Allerdale

A superb meal . Beautiful food, well presented and just the right quantity- so often you feel over faced with large amounts of food on your plate. The menu is very different ( not a Cumberland sausage in sight) with a good choice for all preferences. We didn’t feel at all rushed, staff were all very professional and friendly. We will most definitely be booking again next time we are in Keswick.

Fantastic smiley prompt service, nice ambience, interesting mocktails, nice guest tap, super tasty food - onion bhaji, burrata starters, braised steak and lamb rendang mains.

So glad we ate here last weekend, it was fabulous! Lovely warm welcome and great service throughout our whole time there from Emily, who deserves a shout out. The food is absolutely delicious and the wine too. All the staff are so friendly and the place has a great ambience. We will definitely return there when we next visit Keswick!

Went here on Easter Monday and absolutely loved it. We were a party of four adults and two children and we were very, very lucky to get a booking for 5pm. The food is absolutely delicious (main and dessert), service is great, can 100% recommend this restaurant.

Excellent food, great atmosphere. This place rarely disappoints with its stylish, yet cosy decor and delicious food. Had a pre theatre meal here. A drink each, plus main and dessert came in between £70-80 which we thought was really good value. The service is attentive and friendly and of all the places to eat in Keswick, this one is a favourite.

We were a group of three vegetarians and had a choice of four meals. We each chose something different. We all agreed it was the best restaurant vegetarian food we had ever had. The chef is amazing! The staff were very welcoming and the ambience was great. We would make a special detour to eat here again.

Really friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and great food. A tight menu which allows the chef to hone in on the dishes on offer. Very good food, especially the pork belly ramen and Indonesian lamb.

We were in a desperate need of a pick me up. We’ve been staying in a beautiful hotel, where we got married, but where food and drink wise it feels like we are being taken for granted as customers, charged too much for un-inspired, dull and un-imaginative food and drink. We’ve eaten in a lot of excellent, Michelin starred restaurants, but it’s all too easy to charge customers £90 a head for a tasting menu and assume they’ll lap it up because the chef knows best. Rubbish… When it’s top class, it’s brilliant, but if you’re not using your imagination and adding a tenner for each buzz word you use… seasonal, locally sourced, yes, but also lazy and not getting the basics right… then we can spot it a mile away! But Enough, I digress… The Fellpack… an affordable amuse-bouche, a desperately needed palate cleanser… A great little neighbourhood restaurant, nicely designed, imaginatively decorated, with an exciting, simple and inspiring menu, full of thoughtful, banging dishes… Dishes that excite your brain and tantalise your palate… Zingy, cosmopolitan, dramatic, rich flavoursome plates. The kind of food that has you smacking your lips at the thought of the next course… Which when it arrives wants you to order sevonds even though there’s nowhere to put it… We had a plate of delicious vegan tacos, a luxurious, deep, filthy beef ragu with papardelle… And to follow a ginger creme brulee and a ‘burnt’ Basque cheesecake.. both divine, and there were at least another eight dishes we’d have happily eaten… A brilliant IPA, a lovely glass of wine, and about £70 all in… Immaculate, friendly service, quick and to the point and we came away gushing that’s it’s not that hard to excel when you try to inspire and excite your customers… Awesome work guys, we’ll definitely be back, and hopefully friends of ours will visit this weekend as well… And to those of you taking the p***… Your customers won’t let you forget it… Cheers!

Monday evening in October and warned in advance that you get an hour and a half. Less than normal but we don't mess around chatting with coffees once we've eaten so really not a problem. Except, although we ordered when asked to and as the food took a while to arrive, we were asked later if we'd finished, time must have been up. First time for everything I suppose. Not that warm but overall ambience is very good. Food excellent, very wholesome. Shame about the end to the evening, a victim of their own success I suppose. There were people queuing outside in the rain...on a Monday evening, in October.

Lovely restaurant with friendly, welcoming staff. Food was excellent, very tasty. It was a really comfortable environment, the hosts and waiting staff were spot on, they made the experience even better. I had the falafel, my partner had the lamb tagine, both of which were very delicious. His brother and wife had the fish cakes and said they were fabulous. Cocktails were tasty and we had the chocolate brownie for dessert. It was very rich but certainly a treat. I would 100% return and highly recommend people visit if in the area.

Wow ! Luv this restaurant, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is fantastic. I normally find veggie options uninspiring but the veggie food was first class. Thank you Fellpack for making us veggies feel just as important as the carnivores :)

Incredible meal out at the Fellpack Kitchen earlier this week. Definitely an alternative but brilliant menu. Without question the best restaurant we ate in during our stay in Keswick. Quite an expensive meal, but the food was quality. Loved the Chicken Katsu meal, and the Gingerbread Creme Brulee was out of this world. Highly recommend anyone visits this brilliant restaurant.

An excellent find unfortunately at the end of our holiday as we would have loved to visit again. Great atmosphere, staff were wonderful and we loved the variety of gorgeousness in the Fellpot mains. I would recommend the Lamb Tagine which was delicious. Good for families too.

Really nice place. Food was universally very good and very reasonably priced for the quality. Both mains (beef Ragu and lamb tagine) had very tender meat and generous portions. Service was efficient and friendly. We will definitely be back

Wandered in here on our way back to our B&B and ended up staying a while... we had cocktails and I had a lakeland no6 malt whisky. The staff team couldn't have been friendlier and the service was excellent. There is food available here and will definitely be back to try out their menu.

The best place in Lake District!

Food was beautiful, only one problem the cabbage wasn't washed so mouthful of grit not good. This is basics that aren't right!!

What a place! I don't know what the staff were all on but I want it! Never met such a cheerful workforce in a bar before. Amazing vibes, people and the food was just incredible. Wish we were staying longer so we can go back for seconds 😋

If I ever open a restaurant I'm going to come here first and ask them how. Every member of staff seemed to genuinely love working here and as a customer that just shines through and makes your visit a joy. We arrived without a booking on a busy Saturday night and they went out of their way to fit us in. The food was sublime, service was attentive and above all a ton of fun. Plus they had a ton of vegan and gluten free options on the menu. Always appreciated. We'll be back.

Fantastic place for Sunday roast. Great food, great staff and a nice atmosphere.

Why haven't we been here before! Best Sunday dinner around. The service is so friendly and upbeat nothing is too much for them at all. The food is absolutely delicious and full of flavour. The crumble is the best I've had anywhere. Love the little touch of the book with the cheesecake recipe and the riddles. We definitely will be back soon.

Got a burrito from the airstream outside and sat inside due to the pouring rain! So tasty - pulled beef with jalapeños, guacamole, beans etc. with nacho fries. Good price and lovely, friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend. Has the fellpack bowls previously and loved those too.

This was our first time to Fellpack and I certainly see what all the hype is about! We had a lovely time- the decor is incredibly thoughtful and relaxed. Attention to detail is in everything if you look closely, from the style of the venue, to the natural scenes projected on the wall, the tableware, the music, the booklet on the tables that describes the Chef and his team, has recipes and tips for the surrounding area. The service was quick and really friendly. Cocktails and food to die for, and very fairly priced! We were lucky to get a reservation for 2. I tried to book a week in advance for a week-long trip and there were only two timeslots available! Book in advance if you can! For cocktails we had: negroni, salted caramel espresso martini, an apple margarita and a collins For starters: focaccia and onion bhajis For mains: Katsu curry and beef shin ragu For deserts: gingerbread creme brule and burnt basque cheesecake Each one of these dishes was delicious and we highly recommend them all. Perfectly spiced and seasoned.

Beautiful restaurant - cosy yet classy, with delicious fresh food and really amazing staff. Will definitely be returning every time we're in Keswick. A real treat (and reasonably priced), a perfect place to celebrate my 40th birthday. Love that dogs are allowed too...means we can have a nice meal out instead of being restricted to pubs.

Ate here for my partners 27th. Atmosphere is very cosy and warm, feels like being back in Ireland in the close-knit pubs and restaurants there. Service was impeccable, servers were very friendly, food came out fast and tasted fantastic. Very well priced with quick service and great food. We will definitely visit again when in Keswick.

First time at Fellpack having walked by dozens of times, wish I'd eaten here earlier. Really good, well prepared dishes and a balanced thoughtful menu. The staff team are fantastic too, genuinely friendly and welcoming, lovely people. Will be back.

Perfect. Exceptional service, excellent food cocktails and a great atmosphere.

We went to the Fellpack on Saturday. We booked - good job as it was heaving. Service is vey good even though it is busy. Plenty of staff and all the ones we spoke to were very friendly. I usually hate busy places as I can't here what people are saying at my table but it wasn't a problem in this place. Pigs in blankets starter was very nice. I went for the Roast Parsnip for main (I'm not vegetarian - just wanted something different). I was not disappointed. I think this is new on the menu and it had lots of interesting elements. I would highly recommend that. Good cocktails too - Spiced Apple very festive.

Super lovely meal out. Very much enjoyed the vibe, chill and minimalist, but cozy. Dog-friendly. Exciting menu options with plenty for vegetarians and gluten free options. Highlights were the negroni (just perfect) and the mulled fig sauce on the cheesecake. My cauliflower schwarma didn't have a lot of flavour, which was a bit disappointing, but it was definitely edible and wouldn't put me off going back and trying something else. My partner had the mushroom ragu and absolutely raved about it. The folks serving were so efficient and kind. I would recommend a night out at the Fellpack based on them alone.

Super friendly staff made a lone diner feel very welcome. Plusher than a pub, but still felt unpretentious. Great food too. The pear, maple and pecan crumble with custard was delicious!

We had a fantastic meal at this great restaurant last night. The staff were so friendly and relaxed but attentive and present. The atmosphere is great without too much noise but a good hum of enjoyment. The food was magnificent and amazingly delicious and also very reasonably priced. We really couldn’t fault the place. A credit to the owners and staff. This is what hospitality looks like when it’s done well. Thank you Fellpack. We’ll be back!!

The food at Fellpack was phenomenal. Filling but not bloating. The service and atmosphere were brilliant. Attentive friendly staff members and a general buzz in the whole place. We hadn't booked, but that did not deter the front of house we were ushered in as a table would be free soon. This is the place to go when you're in Keswick!

This was the first time I visited the new restaurant after having been a regular customer at the original Fellpack. The service was great but unfortunately the food lacked flavour. It is good to see that Fellpack offer a range of vegan options but the vegan chilli was one dimensional and dry. I asked why the avocado cream was missing from this dish and was told that it was not vegan. It would be easy to make a vegan avocado cream or guacamole or to add some sliced avocado as the dish previously used to include. I do not feel it is satisfactory just to leave an element out, especially when it would have balanced the dish. I also had a small portion of chilli and more quinoa. I was disappointed as this meal was for a special occasion. I appreciate that as a business you need to evolve but I felt that the larger restaurant lacked the soul, charm and intimacy which made the original venue so special.

Would never have found this place, or looked to eat here if it weren't for the recommendation from our hotel. The food was unreal. I had the fishcakes from the autumn menu and my word were they tasty and filling! The staff were excellent and attentive, some friends had booked for a similar time as us and they accommodated us brilliantly by sitting us together. I will certainly look forward to eating here again.

More often than not disappointed when have Sunday lunch out, not at the fellpack, probably the best I've ever had! Roasties crispy, Yorkshire pud light, meat (pork belly and beef) tender, greens with garlic - very tasty. Cocktail's were great too.

Menu evolves so always something interesting to choose from and of course lovely flavours. Staff are a credit and always easy to engage.

Firstly, the service was very good. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The food was presented beautifully but ultimately it was bland. It was a big shame as when I came to Fellpack in 2018 the food was memorably excellent. I was excited to come back but was left disappointed. I had the lamb tagine as this was recommended by the staff. It was the most flavourful of the three dishes but still lacked any real punch and depth of seasoning. We sat as a large group but we were split over two tables. This was fine as they forewarned us. However, the second smaller table's food came out a lot later, even though some of the dishes were the same. It felt like we had been forgotten about or they'd submitted the order on two tickets and not specified we were the same group. Either way, it was a poor show. Overall, excellent service but it's a big shame the quality of food has declined.

Great place for a meal. Staff is laid back in good agreement with the great atmosphere. Must admit that, on this summery day, some added ventilation would be a good improvement. Nevertheless, the meal was great and service was very efficient, on point with a short waiting time.

Absolutely excellent! Friendly staff, delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend the Dexter Beef. There's a massive screen showing film of lakeland views which is probably worth the visit on it's own. 5 stars all day long!

Visited on Saturday night for my girlfriend's birthday. Incredibly lovely staff and amazing food. Really good beer and cocktail options. Only reason for not staying longer was out of shear tiredness fr our day in the lakes, we will be back!

Interesting and original combinations in dishes, everything was delicious

Visited Fellpack to dine in with some friends. Really enjoyed the food, especially the starters (garlic hummus, romesco dip and Camembert). I had the duck ramen, which although more like a cross between pho and ramen, was still quite nice. Disappointing that there were no chopsticks with this meal. Staff on the whole were friendly. Dinner was a little expensive but would say worth the money for a stand-out dinner out whilst in the Lakes.

Food was outstanding. Service a little disappointing- so much better on our last visit.

We enjoyed a really lovely meal in the Fellpack on New Year's Eve. The food was delicious , piping hot and very tasty. We were a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meal. All the choices were reasonably priced and all the staff friendly and helpful. If we return to Ambleside we will definately return to the Fellpack and recommend it to anyone else.

The starter of Pigs in Blankets - reassuring, but with an edge. The mains - comforting after a long drive. The cocktails - Black Forest Bellini and a Fellpack Negroni - exsquisite. Service - attentive, quick, friendly, jovial, but not overbearing. (Perfect)

The Fellpack is located in a fine Lakeland building at the bottom of Lake Road just as you are about to meet the subway out towards the stunning Derwent Water. We hadn't booked but it was a steady Wednesday evening in late November so we walked up without a booking. The young man who I think was John found us a seat side by side in the window. He is a really good Maitre D, very chatty, enthusiastic and welcoming. The other staff that we came into contact with were also excellent, not too pushy or intrusive but always in the background if you needed them. Good service. I started with pigs in blankets. Why don't more places do these, or sandwich shops even. Anyway these had a sticky honey based glaze on them and they were lovely. My wife went for the smoked haddock on speltotto which she thoroughly enjoyed, not a grain was left over. I had the pulled pork hash. I haven't seen this on menu's much at all so was a little out of the ordinary. It was so unbelievably tastey. The barbecue taste was sweet but so moreish. The pork was cooked to perfection. If the first two courses received 10 then the amaretto tiramisu would get an 8 from me. It reminded me of a sloppy millionaire shortbread rather than tiramisu, and a heavier tip of the amaretto would have been welcomed. When we visited this place was number one on TripAdvisor for Keswick. I wouldn't argue with that.

Go get the Chicken Schnitzel and corn thing. To die for.

Fabulous restaurant with a great bar and a wonderful drink selection! Lovely staff so book in advance you won't be disappointed!

Excellent restaurant, the panoramic screen with videos of local mountains was a great touch. The Pulled pork is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Service was attentive, warm and friendly. Food arrived quickly. Was not left wanting.

Enjoyed it here, nice venue, staff friendly, food comes in nice dishes. Interesting menu. Half of us enjoyed what we had but the vegan options didn't taste that great. We had three different ones and the linguine was the best of the three, dahl the worst. Mac n cheese (not vegan) was the best dish and apparently amazing/perfect. Would go again if menu changes for vegan options as has potential. Looks like a nice place to go for drinks. Nice lively modern venue in Keswick. Glad its here.

What a fantastic place. The food was sooo tasty, plenty of choice, staff friendly and a full house, the atmosphere was just how you would like on a Saturday evening, everyone enjoying the food and company. Great night, will definitely pop there again.

I gave the Fellpack a try based on the excellent ratings and reviews. Really happy with my food choices. The Hummus,.the lentil & mixed bean chili , and the Carrot sponge. The service was very good too. Overall a very good and positive experience.
