Fellbites Cafe and Restaurant in Eden

Large group of bikers turned up unannounced all served with good brews and a nice slice of cake.We will be back now we have found it.

Sadly the photos on here of delicious looking chunky chips lured me in to be sadly disappointed by an uninspiring burger served with generic skinny fries on a plastic tray, for the extortionate price of £14.50. It also arrived alarming quickly, about 60 seconds after my hot chocolate, meaning that went cold whilst I ate my meal.

Excellent lunch on a very wet and blustery day in between walks in the area. We were dodging the showers and my visiting American clients loved their steak pie and Welsh Rarebit!

Went for breakfast after vacating holiday let. Basic cafe grub but quality, full English breakfast if you wanted it or any combination of. Very quiet at 10:30 am : we were the only customers! Good coffee too and tasteful background music for a change. Never heard Little Feat playing in a cafe before! Efficient staff clean and decent toilets too.

We stopped here for lunch whilst on a cycle trip around the lakes. The service was great as was the food. We had the fish finger butty, spiced lentil soup and coffee/ Walnut cake. Perfect. Thank you.

Great food, super selection of starters/mains/specials etc. Went for evening meal after being on fells for the day and although very busy, managed to squeeze us in. Worth making a booking if you can! The chilli was wonderful.

We found a table straight away, despite it being lunch time in quite a busy area. We ordered our food at reception and had a very short wait - our dog loved all the little treats whilst we waited! I ordered chilli con carne loaded fries & my partner had fish finger sandwich with chips. We both got drinks and it totalled to £25 which I don’t thinks dreadful for the Lake District & the food was amazing!! Well worth it. Some places offer you scraps of food! We loved our little trip here after a 10k walk and would 100% recommend it!

Brilliant breakfast! We had a full English, was really quick service, very friendly and the food was really good. Lovely seating area outside for while you eat too if you want to. Look forward to coming back!

A cosy, genuinely dog-friendly cafe, with space to sit inside or out, run by welcoming, polite staff. With dog biscuits and towels to dry off a wet pooch in the entrance porch, we knew this was a great place to have lunch with our dog in tow. When ordering our choices, the counter was crammed with tempting homemade goodies that caught the eye…scones and tray bakes and the like. Our chosen meals of spicy lentil soup and a pulled pork hotdog were both served quickly, freshly prepared and piping hot. Both were really good. Coffees and cakes to follow were also delicious. The scone was the best I’ve had in years. Staff were efficient but also friendly, with enough time to chat and give the dog a fuss. We will be making a special effort to return here in the Summer, even though we will be staying at the opposite end of Ullswater!

What a fantastic find! All food homemade & fresh. We only stopped for a cuppa but stayed for lunch & it was excellent. Lovely staff made it a treat. I also took away scones to eat later as they looked really nice. (They tasted delicious).

Have eaten here many times in the past but on this occasion the food was disgusting. Microwaved bacon on stale bread, very weak tea and unfriendly service. I would not come here again or recommend to anyone. J.Stephenson

Stopped in the village and came across this little gem. Warm and friendly welcome. Great selection of food from breakfast and lunch time meals to a wide selection of cakes all very reasonably priced . A toasted tea cake and a huge slab of caramel shortcake where both delicious. You won’t be disappointed if you stop off here 👍😊

We just visited for lunch during an Anniversary stay in the Lake District and couldn’t be more pleased. Lovely, cosy place with a relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. We had a fish finger sandwich along with loaded fries with pulled pork - both dishes were fantastic! Yum yum! 2 thumbs up from us. Hope to visit again one day soon.

This was a nice little cafe for lunch, quick service and food was good, we had jacket potatoes. Prices were very reasonable too.

One has to say that this is still a great cafe, but its success has meant that the crowds discourage us from using it.

Absolutely huge and delicious cake, perfect fuel for a long walk from Glenridding! Coffee was ok but scalding hot - to be honest it was overdone.

We stopped at this little cafe after a trip on the paddle steamer on the lake. All I can say is the food was delightful, the hot chocolates are amazing and the chocolate cake was to die for! Service was prompt and friendly and the menu is fairly well priced for the quality and value received.Added to our map as a must to visit in the future. You will not be disappointed.

Excelente ubicación en la ciudad, cerca del muelle del barco de vapor y del comienzo del paseo Hellvelyn. Me senté afuera para almorzar ya que era un buen día soleado y tomé una cerveza, y también probé una de sus ginebras locales.Gran menú y sus hamburguesas eran increíbles. Tuve la hamburguesa normal con puerco desmenuzado que era increíble, y otros tenían una Hell Burger y una con tocino, y todos dijeron que eran excelentes. Pasamos unas horas en Glennridding debido a un viaje en barco y decidimos parar aquí para almorzar. Estaba soleado, así que nos sentamos afuera, sin embargo, las mesas afuera se llenaron muy rápido.Comí jamón, huevo y patatas fritas y mi marido tenía una hamburguesa, la hamburguesa era obviamente casera y se veía muy impresionante. Stoped here to have a spot of lunch. I ordered the cheeseburger and my partner had the chilli from the specials bored. Both meals were served quickly and looked yummy. Happy to say they tasted as good as they looked and was a nice home cooked style lunch that we needed before heading off to explore.

Cracking little eatery, discovered by chance when using the adjacent car park. Excellent service and tasty food. Will be back!

We called in here for a bit of lunch and a couple of drinks after completing the Airo Force and Gowbarrow walk. The meal was perfect, friendly and quick service and a good selection of food and drinks which catered for everyone.

We had lunch at Fellbites after a walk near Ullswater and on a rainy day appreciated the choice of hot meals. Spicy lentil soup and a jacket potato with chili were both pronounced quite spicy (in a good way) and my Welsh rarebit was excellent with a generous salad. Coffee was also very good. Plenty of hand sanitiser around and space between tables.

Nice dinner, quick service, would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Really nice views if you pick a seat outside. Healthy options available which is a plus.

Had a lovely evening meal here. Reserve a table beforehand as it's very popular. Great friendly staff, excellent food and value for money. In the middle of Glenridding so perfect location. Only suggestion would be for some background music as at times it was very quiet, maybe too quiet.

A very small cafe which does open of an evening . Food was good quality, home cooked with great portions! In fact I had to apologise for not finishing it even though it was lovely. Restaurant very clean and staff very good too!

To start with the location of this place is amazing and offers a very beautiful view for any nature lover that you can enjoy whilst sipping your coffee. The food was amazing I would highly recommend the Cheese Olive and Sunblushed Tomato melt.

We arrived in Glenridding after taking the steamer down Ullswater from Pooley Bridge. Our family party consisted of seven adults and two young children. It was a beautiful warm, sunny day, so we sat outside. There are plenty of wooden bench tables, and even though the village was busy this café was quite quiet, so we easily found a couple of tables to sit at. We chose what we all wanted from the extensive menu, and ordered and paid inside the café. We were amazed at the speed that the food arrived on the table. The food was beautifully presented, and tasted great. We enjoyed the meal so much that we decided to stay for some tea and cake. Again the cakes looked and tasted delicious. All agreed that we had really enjoyed our lunch here, and that we had gotten great value for money. Should we ever visit this village again we will certainly be making a bee-line for this café for another meal.

Lovely little building and the staff were very nice but the food honestly was disgusting. My partner and I had a butterfly chicken burger with chips, so I can’t comment on anything else from the menu, but I still feel sickly hours later after eating my lunch. The chicken was awful. From the taste, weird texture and the fact our meals literally took 4-5 minutes to get to our table from the point of us being seated, it was obvious it was all pre cooked and then microwaved. The chips also had an odd taste and were just cheap frozen chips. The food is not sitting well on my stomach. The price wasn’t bad, £11 per burger and chips but I expected the food to be properly cooked and not microwaved, really wish I had gone somewhere else for lunch sadly, but again staff were lovely and it was cozy.

Brilliant to be back to this lovely restaurant for our tenth anniversary. Crackling with spicy apple sauce made a great change for nibbles then crayfish salad and steak and chips all cooked to perfection. Friendly and efficient service as always and already looking forward to our next visit.

3 meals ordered, they arrived within 10 minutes. The girls were very polite and friendly, service with a smile goes a long way.The food its self was perfect, wife's been craving a jacket potato and this place did NOT disappoint. Covid-19 friendly with plenty of outdoor seats.

Sabroso.El personal fue como siempre muy agradable y servicial. La presentación de la comida fue excelente.Nuestra única queja es que ahora están cerrados hasta febrero de 2020 y estamos aquí de vacaciones por otra semana. ¿Pero tuvimos pastel a mitad de precio?Que tengan un buen descanso. Llegamos aquí un día para tomar un café y un pastel a las 11. 10 am y noté que el horario de apertura era de 11 am a 3 pm y el café estaría cerrado en un par de semanas hasta febrero de 2020. Hemos comido aquí antes y había estado ocupado pero éramos los únicos allí en ese momento. El café y el pastel estaban bien, pero sentíamos que estábamos en el camino y las 2 mujeres que servían tenían un verdadero gemido sobre la escuela local, los maestros y ciertos padres, ¡algo que los clientes no deberían escuchar!

Fantástica selección de comida, asegúrate de revisar el tablero de especialidades dentro.Gran servicio. Mi hija de 8 años ha estado hablando de cómo su pollo y papas fritas eran los mejores que había probado.El marido disfrutó muchísimo la hamburguesa del infierno. Warm and welcoming cafe, cracking full English breakfast with good menu with alternatives such as veggie options, pancakes, cereals, etc.. Good service, great coffee, spotless loos...couldn't ask for more. Highly recommend.

We went in the evening, the food was very good, with a short but interesting menu. The food and wine were good value and the local ice cream delicious. However, service was a little slap dash and rushed.

we visited this caffee in 2013 and left good review. this time visited with bigger family group hence tried several food options from sandwiches to roast potato. all food delivered rather fast despite being full and tasty too.Still recommended.

Staying on a weeks holiday in Patterdale so walked to Glennridding and had lunch on the day after arrival and were sold.Staff polite and friendly. Walkers welcome. Good value tasty food. Some thing for vegans and vegetarians too. We had intended to go to try Helvelyns Country Kitchen but it was closed so happily back to Fellbites. Definitely recommend.

Nice lunch after a morning of kayaking on Ullswater. Friendly staff and good home cooked soup. Very warm and cosy.

Heard about this place high up on the trail and popped in for lunch on a rest day from the Coast to Coast. Had the Lentil Soup special and cheese toasty. The soup in particular was delicious!! I will be thinking about that yummy soup in the future. This place has lots of character, a menu with variety, and a friendly team. If I had more time in the area, we would be back again!

Ate here in May and were totally surprised by the quality of food. Visited one evening and ordered one surf and turf and one lamb kofta meal, both were full of flavour. While back in the lakes in September returned here one very wet lunchtime for a tea and hot chocolate. After looking at the specials we decided to stay for lunch trying the chilli & rice and steak pie & chips. Shame we live so far away!
