Fego Caffe in South Bucks

Having heard about Fego’s I was really looking forward to going there for lunch. The whole experience was average. I had a crispy chicken wrap and that’s all it was, no garnish, token salad or anything on the side. My sister had eggs and avocado on toast and it was very bland and a small portion. It was overpriced for what it was.

The lady that used to manage has left, and it sadly shows. Ordered a carrot juice and then had to ask for it 2 more times, eventually showed up half way through eating. Then asked for the bill...twice...and then waited 15 minutes for someone to take payment. Such a shame, service used to be excellent.

New dish being trialled of baked eggs on creamy leeks with purple sprouting sounded delicious…..shame they couldn’t manage to bake the eggs so that the yolk was liquid/jammy, it was chalky! Purple sprouting was not available but no mention was made at the sales point. Good concept but disappointing, more work needed before charging customers for it. Coffee was lukewarm.

The restaurant itself is lovely with lovely staff and beautiful scenery. However, I was appalled by the price. I spent nearly £19 on a child's portion sized full English (1 sausage, a slice of bacon, small pot of beans and one slice of toast) and a coffee, no larger than a shot glass. The meal was around £12.50 and the coffee around £4 with a £2 mandatory service charge. The food was lovely but definitely not worth the amount spent. I highly recommend this place either increases their serving sizes or lowers their costs, otherwise I will not be returning and recommend others don't as well, unless you are taking out a small loan beforehand.

We popped in here for breakfast staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was extremely busy lots of babies and children so a bit noisy. Our breakfast was very good the bacon was cooked well the eggs just right and the tea was hot! Which was fantastic as some places it can just be warm. Best thing was being able to pay at the table with a qr code! I would recommend and would come back.

Amazing food and service both! We had the Eggs Mediterranean, Ranchero, Benedict, and loaded pancakes for breakfast and all were phenomenal. The sautéed spinach was so good, I asked for the sauce ingredients so I can hope to remake back at home. The service was really, really friendly. The whole experience was just so pleasant, we left very happy.

Lovely very busy & popular cafe/casual dining. The staff are very friendly & a jolly atmosphere. Adult’s & children’s meals, snacks & cakes. Pay & display car park nearby & some local on street parking for 1hr free nearby. Dog friendly at the two benches outside roadside at the front of the restaurant with water & dog biscuits. Also serve wine & beer as well as hot drinks, non alcoholic & smoothies.

Fego is a restaurant that has understood that it is the quality and customer service that sustains businesses through difficult times like these. They have mastered customer service with their drivers who are pleasent and friendly. Their food is is a little more expensive than a fry up cafe but that is justified because their food has quality throughout. Their chicken & waffles, banana bread, pancakes, mac and cheese with short rib a but a few of the delights. We have yet to order an item we did not thoroughly enjoy. Oh and just today they had the audacity to provide a spicy mayonaise dip for the fried chicken that was so good. Do yourself a favour and drop by for a visit or order online. You will not regret it and helping local business is the bonus on top

Just squeezed in for a quick coffee, but many having brunch on this Sunday morning. Very popular locally, always a good sign.

Had lovely service by the Hostess Rachel, and the grilled bacon bap was amazing. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Waitresses rude, coffees unavailable. Palestinian falafel unavailable. Absolutely awful and rude service, my falafel was still half frozen when given to me, asked for this to be cooked properly but was yelled at that it is cooked. Will never return to this awful place.

Lucky Escape!!! Avoid at all costs. Came here for a late brunch, placed the order. Manager seemed quite welcoming but also not fussed at the same time. Was a bit awkward as she kept telling us what juices and smoothies they had! I hadn’t asked, the plan was to have hot drinks. However we then decided to go for a fresh orange juice, whilst we waited for our food. The juice came within 60 seconds of ordering, it must’ve been already squeezed considering the whole place was dead quiet! When I went to take a sip I noticed a few black and brown bits floating in the glass around the 3-4 ice cubes. I left it for a few minutes, as I was really surprised for this level of service from Fego! Eventually I told one of the waitresses who was cleaning the side and showed her the black bits floating in the glass. She looked and offered to change it, so I said okay. Although personally I would’ve been happy if she had just handed me a spoon to remove it. I heard her tell her colleague word for word, where they then started whispering. After 30 seconds they came back to me in quite a confrontational manner saying where’s the bits? So I said I just showed you, when I looked at the glass the 3-4 ice cubes had been removed. So I said the bits were floating around the ice cubes, but the ice cubes are removed so maybe they’ve also come out. They then said oh we didn’t do anything, we didn’t remove anything. So I said where did the ice cubes go? And with a malicious smile they said “must’ve just melted” so I said in 30 seconds? 4 ice cubes melted? Yes it’s warm today but it’s not hot enough for ice cubes to melt. I was disgusted at their service, lying to me on my face. The food hadn’t come yet, so I said you can’t be telling me the ice cubes just disappeared. To which they said yes they must’ve. What disgusting service?!!!! At this point I had enough and got up to leave, to which the manager said “do you think we put something in it?” My main issue was, the absolute lies to my face!! I am not stupid, will not accept to be treated like a fool! Glad I got out in time and didn’t ruin my Sunday. Staff were absolutely queer in their behaviour. Disgusting people skills! Manager needn’t reply, can see from your replies to other customers you don’t appreciate feedback. Repulsive service.

During the lockdown, this firm went out of its way to deliver fresh food and prepared food to us. They were fantastic.Helpful and efficient. Thank you.

Natalie, Sorina and all the team continue to make this great place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. A wonderful welcoming atmosphere and they done wonders with their outside space during the past year.

I'm so glad I discovered this place... we order takeout from Fego's pretty much every other day and are always pleasantly surprised by the flavoursome, fresh, delicious food.

Get a take out fairly regularly from here.Our son just loves the burger. The menu is sufficiently varied that there is something for everyone.The food and extra's are always really really nice. I had a chilli con carne last time with extra dips (sour cream and something else) - was excellent.Always happy to come back - have never been disappointed.

Just had a takeaway brunch from here. Ordered on line and ready for me at the specified time. 2 delicious ciabatta rolls and hot coffee. Thoroughly recommend.

Was recommended by a friend for Fego take away so I ordered online and 'Popped' in (45 min drive each way). I can honestly say,I would do it all over again. Amazing service, well organised and food was incredible.

Not sure where all these negative reviews come from, do people know we're in the midst of a worldwide pandemic? All hospitality venues have had to make adjustments to their procedures and people have to understand that. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, the food was fresh, well presented and delicious. It's a really varied menu so all of us had something that we liked. I'm a bit of a coffee snob and their coffee was outstanding.The staff were really friendly too. I take my hat off to them as it can't be easy at the moment and we had a good laugh.The outdoor section outside is really cool too.It's by far the best on the area in my opinion, we're coming back for sure.

We took a friend for lunch at Fego last Saturday. The food was delicious but the service was frustratingly slow. We were seated in the rear garden and we spent 2hours over our lunch.....maybe 30minutes of that time eating! The staff were all gathered together indoors when we went through to pay and we came out shaking our heads. Customer service training is definitely needed. I think we may have been largely ignored because our waitress went off duty to take her lunch break!

The food is always decent at Fego in GX. This week we found that the service, however, is hit and miss. We have two children under three years old. Staff are often great, but it seems some of their more experienced staff are arrogant (possibly arising from the lack of competition in GX) and become irritated by the behaviour of children. After our meal, we spoke to the lady who was in charge. Rather than taking our views and internalising any doubt she had about their veracity, she deflected and said that “it was very unlike” the staff member in question. We went to another restaurant for lunch today. The food was average but the waiters and waitresses could not have been friendlier or happier(at least that was our impression) to serve us. It was today’s brilliant experience that urged me to write this. We won’t be going back to Fego in Gerrards cross as they’re not a Parisian Brasserie that some of their staff seem to think they are, I could go on, but won’t bother. So Fego chaps: if you’re reading this, it means you care about your business. For the good of yourselves, goto Beam in Crouch End(likeWe did today) and get a lesson on what good service is. While the food was really good, we had a disappointing experience. As we originally only came in for coffee this seemed to irritate the staff, as we overheard passive aggressive comments from staff members (which they did not try to hide at all) about how long we had been at the table (a normal amount of time) and the fact that we had not ordered food. When we ordered food, there was an uncomfortable atmosphere as we could tell the staff wanted us to leave despite the fact that there were several empty tables available for other customers, meaning we could not fully enjoy our food or the experience. This was a shame as we would have wanted to stay longer but we did not feel welcome to do so.

What a fantastic find. We were in a stopover nearby and don't know the area. It was 8pm and we were with our young children. Even though they stoped serving at 8pm they allowed us in and we had a fantastic meal. The staff were friendly and polite and kind to our children. The food was really, really good.The waffles and chicken was brilliant and the kids meals great too!Well done!

I come here somewhat regularly, and was pleased to return today after a bout of lockdown. The same friendly service, and the same great food was present! It was a pleasure to return and I'll be back again soon !

We shall always be indebted to Fego Gerrards Cross. When we needed to self isolate as a family of 5 but could not get onto the regular supermarket delivery slots, Fego came to our rescue. Their consistent kindness, amazing levels of customer service in sourcing and delivering what we needed, not to mention the quality of their food turned a desperate situation into a great experience. Their Burger Kit has become a weekly staple because it is such great quality and value for money. Natalie and your team - thank you. Once we feel confident about venturing out again, your restaurant is going to be the first we visit, for sure.

I ordered the fried chicken and waffles from here and it was amazing, the salad that came with the meal complemented the whole meal very well. Overall it was a great experience, would definitely go back.

Amazing service prompt reliable and very very helpful the food is always excellent and I have found the service and delivery exemplary!! Had fego twice now in lockdown, 1st they made my daughters 13th dinner special and we have just celebrated our wedding anniversary with afternoon tea with thanks to Natalie who made it so special thank u

Even during these crazy times, Fego has been a staple in our family. We have always loved going to the cafe but now, as we’re on lockdown, they bring Fego to us. It’s been brilliant! Natalie has been going ABOVE and BEYOND to support her employees and the local community. From fruit and veggie boxes to other mainstays we are finding difficult to source. We’ve had breakfast and lunch delivered and it’s all been fantastic. Hats off to them and so happy to have them within walking distance. We will continue to support them as they’ve supported all of us!! Way to go Fego...you have a superb cafe in the heart of GX.

The place welcomes kids and has a pile of toys, books and building bricks to keep them amuzed. There's a kids menu and ours had pancakes that went down well.The full english was cooked perfectly and I tried the one pan breakfast that was equally good and different. Coffe excellent as was the overall service.

This is a great Cafe with good food and coffee but gets jammed with lots of parents with kids so whilst the food and service is good it's impossible to have any sort of conversation over the constand din.

Excellent Full English Breakfast with everything cooked to perfection. Finished off with a waffle, Nutella, banana and ice cream dessert. The service was very good too. It was quite busy but not oppressively so.

Hair in food, no view, if you like to be packed in with a seriously loud shouting in your ears which sounds like pack of hyenas then this is the place for you.Food average.

My partner and I try to visit at least once a month for brunch ....staff are very helpful, food is kick ass and the place is always buzzing ...well worth the wait .

I have had brunch and breakfast at Fego's on a number of occasions. The food is always good, fresh, great choice of brunch dishes. Coffee is excellent and the service friendly. It is a busy place but welcoming and friendly. Much of that is down to the waiting staff. Well done.

Popped in after parkrun. Thought the price was steep when I ordered, BUT , it was a good size and delicious Worth every penny

In my view, this is the best place to have Breakfast/ brunch in Gerrards cross. They make fresh juices too which is welcome when you fancy a healthy meal.

Love coming here! It’s such a chilled atmosphere and great little local place. Everything I’ve tasted from here has always been spot on and the staff are sooo lovely! They don’t rush you out the door, they are so polite and welcoming which makes for a great visit.

Went for coffee had a flat white which was very poor value as it was in a small glass and a lot of froth and very little coffee and really only Luke warm server did not seem very happy as had to come out from the bar area

Visited Fego on a weekday afternoon st approx 1.30pm and it was very busy inside... you can just tell that this is one of the preferred cafe’s/restaurants in the high street just when you look at how busy it was.

I was Gerrards Cross at the begin of may and came across fegos as I was looking for some where to have a coffee as I was early for a meeting . I went in where I was greeted by a lady which had a lovely welcoming smile on her face and told me I could sit where ever I like and pointed out some different places where I could sit I choose a bench seat the lady came over with menus I said I only would like a cappuccino she went away and made me a perfect cappuccino right amount of coffee milk and foam on top and a nice chocolate heart on it . The lady was always doing things makeing coffee and other drinks with a smile on her face and serveing other guest which you do not always see in these sort of places .I went to the till area to pay again the lady was behind the bar area makeing what looked like a fresh juice cocktail which did look rather nice and again was very polite and did my payment in a very professional way and makeing polite conversation she told me she was only on a trail shift which i was very surprised and found it hard to believe. I think you should give praise where praise is due and this lady i feel was very good i think her name was sally or something like that

We often go to Fegos at the weekend for brunch - the food is amazing! Always busy but that’s a testament to its success. Highly recommended - as you can see from my pictures 😍😍😍

I have been a regular at Fego for a long time but unfortunately I was not happy with my experience on the weekend.

On a whistlestop breakfast stop heading into London the pretty way we stopped to stretch our legs in Gerrards Cross, which is not the most attractive spot but Fego proved a winner - excellent coffee, a jam-packed bacon roll with quality meat, and a serving of seeded sourdough toast which had me asking for the name of the baker. Big ticks in all areas, one to file away for the next time we're passing through the area.

We tend to go here for a late breakfast/brunch at the weekend. The cafe is situated on Gerrards Cross High Street but does have a few tables and chairs outside, so if its a nice day you can watch the world go by, It is always very busy and quite noisey. The food is good value for money and the service is ok, just very busy. We usually have the full English breakfast or the pancakes. Both are very good. It is not the sort of place to want to have a conversation. It attracts lots of families and children.

We visited today for Mother’s Day and the food was excellent as always! The staff were amazing and went above and beyond. My mother has Parkinson’s and the manager accommodated her and made her feel special.

Good food and great service as always and a complimentary glass of bubbles was a really nice surprise.

Just a quick coffee break here with one having an espresso the other having hot chocolate. Presentation was nice, staff friendly and the bill was about 5 pounds… Perfectly reasonable.

I love this place, staff bubbly and friendly, food excellent, coffee superb. It does get busy on a weekend but whenever I go I always see familiar faces so obviously a lot of regulars, they must be doing something right! I highly recommend!:-)

We were looking for a place to have a late breakfast as live down the road and found this place. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. What more could you want?! Constantly busy with people trying to get a table which shows how popular it is. Full English breakfast with extra black pudding is superb. Quality ingredients and the fresh juices are great too. Thoroughly recommended

We visited here today as a family to treat my mother in law and niece with my daughter and I wish I hadn’t. We arrived by around 1250 (we had the car park ticket ) and were found a table within about 5 minutes. It was busy but all of the local cafes are busy but they turn you around in a reasonable time - not today. I choose Fego above Jung’s because o had been advised to as it was meant to be better. We sat at our table and waited to order and waited and waited - while a group that walked at the same time as us actually receive their food and eventually ordered. At no time were we advicedthey were struggling or that they were a chef down. ? After half an hour we asked where our food was as people around us that came in after us were being fed and it seemed odd. There was a young waitress who I felt bad for she was mortified at the wait. The other waitress thought it was quite a joke as she laughed the wait off and told us she would be checking on our food but it could be about another ten minutes that was after 45 mins. We then complained again and again and again and then the food turned up. An omelette / a chicken breast salad/ pancakes and bacon and a breakfast pancake dish had taken an hour and was tasteless and the two pancakes stacks hadn’t even any garnish or anything. At nearly 50 quid without drinks I didn’t expect to be faced with such unappealing food. My lettuce was iced berg and was the yellow ends you get near the heart it was really awful and being so hungry you would think that you could eat a scabby horse. I would have preferred to. The manageress came over to apologies but just seemed hell bent on getting across her point that we hadn’t waited an hour for the above rubbish and that ‘she could only go by the till and we only waited half an hour ‘ I bought a car park ticket and also took photos of my daughter and niece so I know that it was an hour. I’m sure her till could have said something different if the order was lost and put through late. For sure it was such a waste of 50 quid and I wouldn’t bother again. As it was my treat I bit my tongue and accepted her incredible ky measly offer of the drinks on her - I would rather have paid for full price and to be served a decent meal in a timely fashion - in fact it was ‘orrible! And I don’t expect to be having a subliminal argument with someone determined to get her incorrect point across to me over when we ordered. I know when we ordered and it was an hour before we were served. I recommend the more professionally run independents like the Bread House and Crumbs and bakers in CSP for future. It was really unappealing and tasteless. Don’t bother. It was such a waste of money. Shame.

We felt very welcome when we went into this cafe for ice cream and coffee with our young grandson. The ice cream and coffee were both good and service excellent. Other diners seemed equally pleased .

Staff always super friendly, good selection of food which is always good. Full breakfast was excellent and the bacon was fab. Always worth a visit.

I understand that Fego is ram packed at lunchtime, but we popped in in the evening and found that we were one of only 3 small groups. Nevertheless the food we had was good and clearly the locals are missing a treat - though there is a lot of decent local competition.

This is a perfect cafe! Great coffee ( could have had another one) lovely breakfast smoothie and the food was fabulous too. We went for the eggs benedict and a shukshata poached eggs in spicy tomato sauce. Both delicious only improvement there could have been slightly more hollandaise sauce.

Inventive menu which caters for all tastes. Service was excellent and is added automatically to the bill. Coffee was ok but not strong enough. Still a great experience but 4 instead of 5 due to the price and the coffee.

Great meeting venue with excellent home cooking. All 4 of us chose something different which everyone approved as being fresh and tasty.

A very nice and popular restaurant due to them being so busy, they do not take reservations. Very conveniently placed on the main road and with car parking on the road adjacent. A clean and lively venue, we were pleasantly greeted and seated. They serve alcohol and food is very nicely presented. We had a selection of meals and they did not disappoint, fresh and delicious. The restaurant is clean, well decorated and good spacing around the tables. Definitely worth a visit for a relaxed visit with great food and drinks.

The food at Fegos never disappoints me. I ordered the porridge with berries and honey no milk and it was delicious. The waitress was very accommodating and helpful when I was picking my breakfast and happy to offer some ideas to avoid the unhealthy options!

Popped in for a lovely brunch mid week. The staff we're very friendly and quick to recommend dishes we may like. They have toys available for kods to bring to the table so is definitely kid friendly. The food itself was delicious qnd very healthy.

Had a very nice Mediterranean breakfast and the wife had pancakes, all very good with a prompt service and a nice cup of coffee. Definitely recommend a visit.

This very nice restaurant is great for a lunch or brunch out of the house with family. It has great service and the milkshakes are especially delicious. The service is relatively fast and I would definitely recommend the place.

Several locals told me this was the best place in town for breakfast. It maybe my first visit was very average. Great service but food standard could be allot better.

Very nice cooked breakfast. Eggs were tasty and runny and the bacon was so nice and soft. Not fatty at all. Washed down nicely with an Earl Grey tea. Lots of parking at the front.

Unfortunately we were a couple having coffee and found the place too noisy for us we also did not like the coffee - my latte was more like a 'Camp' coffee. It is all down to personal taste.

I decided to take my father out for a nice brunch on Easter Sunday . I had been recommended Fego but have had food in many places that have been recommended and came away disappointed. I am not a massive foodie but I like a decent plate of tastey food. This ticked every box. They were so busy but the service was amazing, fast efficient,happy and the food was so nice. My Father was still talking about how nice it was when I left him at home. The staff were friendly , helpful we could not have asked for more. The prices were very reasonable and I will not only recommend I will revisit and that’s pretty rare for me. So if you want good food, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service then this is the place to head to. The app is not letting me give a rating for service , food and value. I would have given 5 for all of them.

Took my parents along to Fego Gerrards Cross as a treat for their 50th wedding anniversary. The food was amazing and my parents were made to feel very special. They were also given a glass of bubbly to help celebrate. Would recommend Fego Gerrards Cross to anyone that wants great food and drink in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

I visited this place two weeks ago with my mum and children. The waitress was rude from the off because we sat down on a table that she hadn't cleared. Only reason we had done this was because we was standing for 5 minutes In a busy doorway with a pram and a crying baby. She quite disgruntledly cleared the table making us all feel uncomfortable. All through the service she provided she wasn't friendly at all. The food was ok, but her attitude wasn't ! This place isn't cheap either so you would expect more for your money ! At the end of lunch my baby had unexpectedly vomited, mostly on me, I was struggling too find wipes and was so embarrassed as everyone was looking, my mum asked the waitstress could we please have some napkins. She said yes hold on, observed the situation then went too take someone's card payment, and didn't come back till 5 mins later with some napkins. After the bill I decided there was no way I was leaving this woman a tip when she took the bill she said 'have you left the right money on there??' I could not wait too get out of that place !! My mum tried too reach out too fego on their fb page, they actually hid her review from the page!! I left one and was told I was making false accusations!! They then wrote too my mum and said were investigating and we will get back too your very soon. My mum asked for an update and the manager said oh if you want too discuss this any further call me. So they didn't investigate at all!! I have never left a review on fb or trip advisor but I was so disgusted by this place and their response !! Avoid this place like the plague, they are extremely rude!!!!

We come here regularly and we love the atmosphere. It’s child friendly and there is parking nearby. I’d definitely recommend breakfast or brunch here.

Me and my partner went for a Sunday brunch, he had steak and eggs and I had the pancake stack , the food was amazing and service was just as amazing.love it will definitely be coming again soon .

Firstly their Latte was literally as good a Latte as I have ever had - it was absolutely exceptionally made....

Popped in for breakfast, staff nice, good selection for r breakfast, seems to be on trend from poncy breakfast selections of avocado, quinoa etc to traditional breakfasts. My only gripe was that the service as hurried as though they wanted us to leave asap for the next customers. I wished they would do pots of tea or coffee as it can get expensive to have 2/3 cups of coffees. Family friendly and full of GX crowd which can be a good or bad thing
