What can I say about Faversham Kebab house, we have been going there for 20 years plus. I have never had a bad meal be it takeaway or eating in. The staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. It has fantastic cleanliness awards and the restaraunt is quite authentic inside.

Celebrated a friend’s birthday here and it was lovely. My first time here and I was very impressed. Staff were excellent and friendly. Will definitely be back

We had the Faversham special which had cold and hot meze, kebabs, surprise fruit salad with baklava and ice cream and coffee for a very reasonable price. The service was attentive and we didn't feel pressured to get up and go until we were ready. The food was delicious and the wine was a big hit. I just wish someone wold lavish some TLC and give the place a makeover. Canterbury has some lovely looking Turkish restaurants but Faversham Kebab House is much better value.

Once again we had a smashing meal with excellent and friendly service in this local gem of a restaurant. We’ve never been disappointed in over 30 years of visiting here. Highly recommended! 😊😊

We had heard that this was a 'not to miss' place to eat, all I can say is that was an understatement. Wow, what delicious, tasty, substantial food we had.

Second time visiting in the last month, the Faversham special is incredible value for money, £15.75 for courses including coffee. Cold and hot mezze, then mixed kebab including a lamb chop and then baklava - all absolutely delicious - a warning though - don’t eat too much pitta as you won’t manage the rest! I can also recommend the Turkish red wine that we had to accompany the meal. We will definitely revisit.

Have been looking at going here for a while. Read the reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a go. We wasn’t disappointed! We opted for the Faversham Special which is a selection of cold starters followed by hot starters. You then get a main meal comprising of mixed meat or chicken, rice, salad and pitta bread. THEN dessert! We had to take ours home as we were just too full up. Really lovely friendly staff who explains everything we were getting. Highly recommend

Went with some friends to this brilliant little place on New Year's Eve.It was totally packed with about 30 people but service never missed a beat.We all had the special which consists of dips,olives,bread,halloumi,liver,spinach pies and a mixed kebab,served with salad and rice plus fruit and baklava.Very tasty and great value at about £20 a head.

Had heard good things and found myself within 20 miles at around 6.30 rang for a table and was delighted to get in. It was mid week, we parked nearby and approached the restaurant it doesn't look like the standard Kebab house 《it isnt》

Very good generous sized portions of beautifully cooked food served by cheerful, knowledgeable and efficient waiter. We shared a Mezze and a main course of Lamb that was large enough for the biggest of appetites. I especially liked the Hummus and Aubergine. The glass of 'house red' was very good, too. One slight criticism - the Halloumi was rather tough and hard,,,,,,,perhaps it was over cooked, I did mention it when our table was cleared. The decor is a little tired and dated, however, everything is clean, the whole experience is definitely substance over style. We'll be going there as a first choice over other Faversham eateries.

We had a fantastic meal at Faversham Kebab House Restaurant. We all went for the Faversham House Special; a starter of cold meze followed by a starter of hot meze, then a mixed kebab and baclava to finish. All the food was amazing, some of the best Turkish food we have had for a while. To top it off the service was brilliant and at £15.75 per person you can't go wrong! We'll definitely be back!

Great food, good prices. Dont be fooled by the appearance, this is one of Faversham best eateries. A mixed crowd eating their amazing mixed grills.

Went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and was not disappointed, we was waited on so well and the food was fabulous, it was all explained what we was eating. What a joy when we got the bill for the evening, we had the specials and wine for under £50 you can’t go wrong, we will be back soon.

I have visited a few times with a large group of friends and each time I have not been disappointed. The food is delicious and there is plenty of it for such a reasonable price. We had the house special which was a selection of cold and hot starts, a mixed meat main with salad and chips and dessert. Most importantly the service was excellent. The staff were very attentive and lovely which made the whole experience as nothing was too much for them, especially as we had severe allergies on our table. I will definitely be returning again and again.

Ordered a chicken kebab and when I got it there was still fethers on the meat! It was so raw that when I opened it the little thing jumped out and tried to escape, spent 10 minutes trying to catch the little bugger!

Managed to get the last table on a Saturday night, very friendly staff that serve very good Turkish food. We went for the Faversham special which was very good and plentiful. The deco could do with a revamp as its looking a little tired, would highly recommend though.

Our family of 6 visited this wonderful Turkish restaurant tonight. We had the house special of mixed cold and hot starters and mixed meat main meal, with dessert and coffee, all for £15.95 per person. I can not recommend it enough. Both food and service were fantastic and we will definitely visit again. Thank you to all the staff.

I love Turkish food. When my brother told me of this great restaurant I was sceptical I have to say. We visited again last week and it hasn't changed, wonderful food, great value. I had the mixed kebab/meze type dish. It has a bit of everything, certainly enough for me. To top it off as part of the meal we had the fruit plate. Again a little of everything. My only issue is still no Turkish tea?? or the Efes draught beer which you can buy in bottles. Apart from that no complaints.

Amazing as usual, just have the Faversham special saves all that ordering and making decisions Great will go again

They are really lovely people at this restaurant. Their customers are really well looked after. The food is fresh and very tasty. The menu is varied with a few items I had never tried before. Portions were large.

Once again fab foods no complaints for any of the 15 strong group of us. Service was excellent. Turkish red wine to die for.

We've been once before, enjoyed our food and the service so much that we went again. It's not a place that relies on waiters in bow ties, but the service is brilliant, just have what's suggested, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg and everything is home made.

This small restaurant is a great place to visit if you love Turkish food. The food is delicious, the portions are plentiful and the staff are so friendly. We had a great meal and will certainly be visiting again.

I hadn't been to the Faversham Kebab House for a couple of years so when a couple of freinds mentioned Faversham I immediately said: "Right! Lunch at the FKH." I was disappointed to discover the restaurant is not open during the week because as George, the owner explained: "It's too expensive to do that for a handful of customers." I pointed out he needed to change the info. on the website and George said he would do it asap.

Lovely small restaurant. Great food. Nice staff. The dad always wanders round to see how everyone is doing. At times you want to ask them to strop bringin* food there is so much of it of you go for the great value special. I hope they go for another 30 years at least. While Preston Street is not the loveliest of spots this place brings a bit of the Mediterranean to Kent.

I'd argue that Faversham Kebab House does some of the best kebabs you'll find in the UK. Nothing out of the ordinary, just very good kebabs all home made. Make sure you try their chilli sauce, I'd love the recipe for that.

Came to Faversham for the hop festival on Friday before.Ate here and was very impressed. Not only was it reasonably priced, good food ,we were served as if we were at a family dinner. A very intimate family feel to this restaurant . Can't praise it enough.Would definitely eat here again.

We have been visiting this lovely restaurant for several years and travel from Dover via train, the food, staff and atmosphere are certainly worth the journey. Having been on holiday to Turkey and enjoyed Turkish food, the restaurant makes the best Turkish food I have had in the uk. George and his family are always very welcoming and are always pleased to see us, I would recommend this little gem of a restaurant to anyone who enjoys Turkish cuisine and is in Faversham.

Although the restaurant is small the welcome is huge. They cook authentic dishes and explain what the dishes are! The food is fresh and well cooked and delightfully presented. Definitely requires a return visit . The meze special is good value and fabulously presented. The lamb chop is to die for!!

This was disappointing. We've been here a few times, and have always had an unremarkable, but substantial meal. The waiters have always been very generous and accommodating. It's been hard to get a table on a Saturday so we we're looking forward to it. Wine tasted like 'off sherry' . Apart from ourselves, a loud, relentlessly, swearing couple came into the restaurant and proceeded in the same manner. We exited.

Visited on a weekday evening without booking. It was busy but we were squeezed in. Service was excellent. We opted for the set menu- Cold Mezze, Hot Mezze, Mixed Kebab, Baklava, Fruit Platter and coffee for £15! The food was plentiful and tasty!

Having lived here a few years this was our first experience, George squeezed us in on a saturday evening. So friendly, great atmosphere, food delicious. Must try the Faversham special. lovely, friendly reataurant, just like sitting in somebodies dining room. Authentic a Turkish dishes, cooked fresh to order. The Mezze is amazing, don't order a main unti you've finished it, we can neve 'fit' in a main.

The Kebab House doesn't usually open at Saturday lunch time but they agreed to open especially for us! They made us feel so comfortable even though we were the only customers. Several of us had never had Turkish food before so were somewhat apprehensive. We opted for the Faversham Feast and absolutely loved it. The mezze meant we could sample things we wouldn't have ordered. The wine was a leap of faith but as good as any french red and a good deal better than some! We have lived in Faversham for 30 years and never eaten at The Kebab House before - shame on us! Thank you to all the staff for their kindness and friendliness. We'll be back!

Can't beat George's for a good value meal in Faversham. Only issue is not that many vegetarian/ fish options.

Simply an amazing restaurant. Great staff and great food at very affordable prices. A MUST HAVE is the Faversham Special... you get a selection of cold starters and dips followed by a selection of hot starters, then onto the main course of mixed grill or chicken kebab and then amazing Baclava to finish. Fruit and coffees are after that too and all for about £15 each!!!!!!! AMAZING

Quick visit to the takeaway, a place which has been mentioned plenty of times. We had the mixed kebab( great selection of meat - cooked perfect), cheese and falafel. Best kebab around, will visit again. Just take it easy on the onions - pretty strong in the salad and if you want sauce order it when they ask about salad!

Although I've lived in Faversham my whole life and this restaurant has been here many years, this was my first visit and what a delight I've been missing out on! We booked for my sisters birthday (glad we booked..It was Friday and full!) we were seated, coats taken, drinks and food ordered, all within the first few minutes..no waiting around and no spending ages choosing from the menu, we were offered the Faversham special, which was cold and hot starters, chicken or mixed grill, pudding and coffee, all for £15.. what a bargain, so we all opted for the mixed grill version and we certainly wasn't disappointed! Food came out almost immediately, and it was plentiful and delicious and everything was cooked beautifully. Service was excellent, very attentive and friendly staff, making sure we had everything we needed..without bugging us too much. We stayed a good couple of hours and didn't once feel rushed even though we were last to leave! All in all we had a fabulous evening, fantastic food, super service and very full bellies..We will be back!

I have eaten from this place for many years it is usually quite busy and very popular the kebabs are brilliant. They are constantly good. the food quality has never changed. It isn't the smartest looking place but it's without doubt the best kebab in town

Probably the best food in Faversham, Memet and Osgur share a passion for their bussiness and it shows in their offerings, all the dishes and meats are prepared on site exept for the 'burgers' which are bought in, the Faversham special is great value at £15 per person, they do not hurry you and you can take your time savouring the delicious food.Well worth a visit,

Taken here for my birthday by the family (14 of us) on Saturday, had great evening. Staff really efficient and friendly, lovely laid back atmosphere. The food was great, and plenty of it, we all had the mezze, cold starter, hot starter, main and dessert, exceptional value. Will certainly visit again as we were made so welcome.

Visited with friends a few weeks ago and was surprised at the quality of the food and service in what looks, at first sight, to be a very average little kebab shop.Its very good value too, so long as you don't go in expecting 'silver service'!

Eaten here many times and never disappointed. Though the menu doesnt vary much it doesnt need to. The Faversham Special is a great tribute to the Owner/Manager and his family. I don't think you can beat this food at the price - or anything like it.

We booked in for an evening meal on a Friday and were so pleased that we did as the restaurant was full. This a superb place to eat, the food is amazing especially the "Faversham Special" the meat was so tender and flavorsome. The menu is varied but I would suggest that you let the staff make the recommendations as everything they advised us on was superb (10/10). Every so often the owner would come out and walk around every table making sure that all was ok, and as other reviews have said he took a personal interest and pride in the food and service. Its been many years since I have experienced this quality of service. Truly fantastic thank you.

Another visit to a favourite place, this time with friends who had not visited there before, nor were they familiar with Turkish menus. You don't need to be: just ask for the Chef's special meze and you will have an adequate taste of everything, with some very good Turkish wine to help wash it down. It is a very small restaurant, which helps the excellent atmosphere. In fact I shouldn't be making this post, as I might not get in next time I'm in Faversham.

Just what I expected from the reviews on here. Basic Turkish food but cooked really well with a nice 'family run' feel to the restaurant. Had a lovely evening here with the better half. As a proper foodie myself I loved the passion and pride of the guy (the son) running the restaurant and the fact that the dad (the chef) made a point of coming out and chatting with the punters; asking what people thought of the food and if they were enjoying it, etc. Great value for money, especially if you go for the 'Faversham House Special', which gives you a bit of everything. You can tell the chef (the Dad) has worked that grill for 30 years! The meat was moist and tender and cooked perfectly.Love that passion and pride! Keep up the good work guys!

Another fantastic night with Oscar and George. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The service was exceptional and the company was delightful.

Four of us went for dinner on a Tuesday night, we received a warm welcome and quickly decided to have the set meal @ £15.50 a head on the manager recommendation. First course was cold meze lots of small dishes served with pitta bread. This was followed by a hot meze feta cheese, meat balls and chopped liver, fantastic tasty food and the portions are large. The main course was a mixed kebab served with rice and a choice of two sauces, by this time two of our party were flagging, bursting at the seams! But there was more, two large pieces of fresh fruit followed by a desert of Baccalau with ice cream! Turkish coffee completed the dining experience. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal, friendly staff and efficient service also added to our evening. The cost of meal was £100 including two bottles of wine and a tip, what a bargain.

You could be forgiven for thinking this was a bit of a pokey joint, not to be taken seriously but how wrong you would be! Great hospitality, comfortable and warm atmosphere, speedy service and the most delicious food.

The Faversham Kebab House Restaurant came highly recommended to me by a friend who I commute with on the coach to London. She had said how good value for money it was and how good the food was.So we decided to give it a try. We went on Thursday 14th July in the evening. When we arrived we was warmly met by Oscar, the owners son. He was very friendly and we was made to feel very welcome.He sat us at a table and gave us the menu, my friend had recommended the Faversham Special at £15.50 a head. we decided to go for this, and we had a cold starter platter, which consisted of Houmous, cous cous, stuffed vine leaves, Tzatziki all served with warm pitta bread. this was followed by a hot starter platter of lambs liver, spicy sausage, meat balls and a cheese and spinach pie. All of which was very delicious and filly.The main meal consisted of a mixed Turkish grill, doner meat, lamb chop, lamb shish, chicken and lamb kofta, served on a bed of rice and warm pitta bread. All of the meat was cooked to perfection and the doner meat was the best I have tried, and it was not oily or greasy as you would normally get. It turns out that the doner is actually made on site. This was all served with a mint yogurt dip and chilli sauce (hot).We had a lovely evening here, and Oscar was the perfect host which made the evening more pleasurable. Our visit to this restaurant has been long overdue and we will be returning with our daughter. We would recommend this to everybody.

Had heard great things about this restaurant and decided to go on Friday night - myself, partner, daughter and her boyfriend - we had booked ahead as we were not sure how busy it would be. What a lovely little restaurant - clean welcoming and so friendly really felt as though we were back in Turkey. Drinks were quickly brought - the Turkish red wine is well worth a try was lovely and smooth. My daughter and I had the vegetarian set meal, her boyfriend had the meat set meal and my partner chose his courses separately. The vegetarian Meze was beautifully presented and with plenty of flat bread was filling without spoiling our appetite for the main course. The vegetarian option was lovely - we were given several dishes with the compliments of the house and will definitely be trying them for our main meal next time and yes there will definitely be a next time. My partner loved his Moussaka, the vegetarian option was tasty and filling and my daughter's boyfriend loved his chicken kebab. My daughter and I were looking forward to the baklava for desert and we were not disappointed - finished off the meal with a Turkish coffee and a big platter of fresh fruit again compliments of the house. What an absolute delightful evening - really felt like a treat at very reasonable prices the staff were LOVELY so friendly and welcoming.

I have been a few times to this restaurant and it never fails to impress me with a good set Turkish menu. Last night was a surprise for my brother. The food and atmosphere is great and the service very good. I have one very big disappointment. We rang the restaurant in advance to inform them my son in law has food intolerance and could they just do a plain chicken with plain boiled rice for him as that's all he can have. We were told No Problem. On arriving we stressed again just plain chicken no herbs ect and plain rice. They bought out the same as the rest were having which had to be refused . We were then told all the chicken was marinated and there was no plain chicken!!!! Poor Tim could eat nothing!! I wish they had listened and maybe bought a chicken breast which they could have cooked plain just for him , it's not like we were asking for something difficult. Or on finding they had nothing to feed him with could they not have done a bowl of chips just so he could eat with us?? He didn't want to make a fuss so sat with a black coffee all evening whilst we all tucked into a feast. So please take into account when you are asked to provide something plain for these poor people who want to attend group gatherings. Such a shame as it was a very good evening otherwise. It won't stop me from going again but I just thought it needed to be brought to your attention.

Dropped off at Faversham on the way back from work as we had heard that this place was good and they were not wrong.Although we were early and the restaurant had not yet opened as soon as they saw we wanted to sit in they readied the restaurant and we were seated within 5 minutes.The menu was very varied as you would expect and the food was well presented and very tasty when it arrived. If you're near the Kebab house drop in, you won't be disappointed !

Four of us visited the Faversham Kebab House on a Thursday night.We were guided by the owner George and we all had a special Meze. This consisted of a mixed cold starter, followed by a mixed hot starter, then a meat main, fruit Baclava and coffee.To be honest it was far more food than we would have normally ordered. All the food was good, except my wife ordered an additional mousaka, which wasn't very good. We also had three bottles of turkish wine which was very good.The food came to £62.00 and the drinks came to 43.00.

Paid £25 for 4 course mezze style meal. Fantastic food, warm, welcoming staff, felt like I was back in Turkey. Will be back regularly!

I've had a donner kebab from here before which was so full of fat it was inedible as were the over salted chips. It was so bad that I phoned and complained. They apologised and offered us a free meal which we haven't taken due to embarrassment, it's packed in there on a weekend. Well we thought it would be a one off and have had a takeaway from there tonight. I've paid £4.80 for a chicken kebab consisting of not even half a chicken breast and salad consisting of mainly onions. They also forgot to put the pitta bread in with it. Really annoyed won't go back! The photo shows the whole meal, yes all of it, I hadn't eaten any before taking the picture.

Visited today with my partner. He's wanted to visit since he's known me (6 years). I've told him about this place from my experience of 30 odd years. He loved the food. As did I. Great flavours wonderful service. And complimentary coffee. Will be back with family for an evening of delight.

Very tasty meal. Had a selection of mezes- hummus (excellent, garlicky - went well with the pitta bread), imam baildi (light and refreshing mixture of aubergines and tomato) sucuk (a spicy sausage - my wife's favourite dish of the meal) meatballs (very tasty) and falafel (the only disappointment...a little dry). We also had baklava, which was very good. The entire meal came to just £18 All in all, it was very good, and we were very pleased with the meal. The lady serving us was very good, and made us feel very welcome.

...a wafer thin mint! The food just keeps on coming here with the special. Cold starters, hit starters, main course, baklava and all cooked well and served with a smile. The prices are extremely low and you really do feel like you have eaten a banquet. If I had one criticism it is the lack of a vegetarian options for the main course - they are happy to do you a selection of the veggie starters as a main but they could do with improving the menu.

It was our first visit to this little authentic Turkish restaurant after a random recommendation to my cousin who lives in Sittingbourne, we booked a table for 6 at 8pm on the May bank holiday Monday. We all decided to have the set menu for £15.50 a head, which comprised of :- 10x Cold Starter dishes, 4x Hot Starter dishes followed by the main, Mixed Grill, Dessert, plus a large fresh fruit platter to share followed by coffee. Out standing Value for money which was made even more enjoyable with the happy friendly atmosphere of the staff which is a credit to this family run business. Will definitely be returning

My husband and I went for dinner at the restaurant this evening. It was his first time of eating here and we both loved it. We had the Faversham special which was incredible value for money and gorgeous food. The service is fantastic. We would recommend the restaurant to everyone. We shall definitely be returning. We booked a table for six people yesterday evening and had the mixed meze with chicken/vegetarian/mixed kebabs. The food was excellent! the staff as ever were so lovely and friendly and the atmosphere was buzzing. This is such a gem to have in Faversham.

Returned to this little restaurant 6 months after our first visit and again wasn't dissapointed. Booked a table for 7 people, restaurant is small so a little cramped but everything else more than makes up for it. We were offered the set meal of starters, mains and desert with veggie, mixed meat or chicken options. There is a good variety of everything, no frills, plenty to eat, quick service, all tastes good, the staff can't do enough for you and you can see the owners passion for his little restaurant! Good work, keep it up and we'll keep returning!

On arrival all tables taken but one (ours) so good sign there. Good atmosphere. Good food. Great prices. Friendly service. What's not to like. Well done.
