Fat Yankees in South Lanarkshire

Came here because I was craving american style chicken wings, only to find them soggy and overcooked. I raised this to the server and he said they “slow cooked” the wings 🥴🥴 which is unheard of for American-style chicken wings because they’re usually deep fried, air fried, or baked in the oven. It was just clear that it wasn’t fresh. Don’t come here expecting american style chicken wings, styling themselves as an american diner restaurant is misleading.

thursday night, so other tha couple comin, place was empty, but foid outstanding and lovely staff. when u have a fried scrumptious itch, go there!

We have been twice as a family to Fat Yankees and have only had great experiences. Reasonable pricing and portion sizes are fab! Staff are friendly and are passionate about what they do.

Visited for a family lunch. Great attentive service and food quick to arrive. Food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meal. Would recommend and would return in the future.

Food was absolutely delicious and the sharer platters are huge! Got the salt and chilli platter for 2, chilli nachos and potato skins. We were completely stuffed after, will definitely be back again.

Food is very poor quality and doesn't taste great. Staff were very friendly. The place seems like an okay bar but avoid the cocktails. Stick to the pints.

We ordered food for 7 adults and 4 kids so as you can imagine it was a huge order however they got every bit of the takeout correct ( which in present day ) seems never to happen . The food was delicious and we were given specific times for the order so not waiting about and served hot Only bit of feedback for a takeaway costing almost £170 I would have thought we may have got some free juice or something . No complaints from 11 people so well done

Been a few times with friends and family, never had a bad meal food delicious,portions were massive had to get a doggy bag lol but was pre-warned ,friendly helpful staff cocktails great aswell, do great mid-week deals , will definitely be back 🙂

Food was good and staff were friendly. My daughter picked the mac and cheese on the kids menu and didn't like it (she's really picky with this dish and inky really likes it homemade!) And the staff brought her a pizza at no extra cost! We've also ordered from here for home delivery a few times and have no complaints.

Huge portions of wonderful food for great prices.

This was the second time I visited the business in as many weeks and the food is really nice and the staff are helpful, albeit they were very short staffed each time. My issue with the place is the wait times for food; The earlier visit was a Saturday night and we ended up waiting just shy of 2 hours for our main meal. The waiter came over to inform us the food was being served and should only be 10 minutes, but 30 minutes later and the food still hadn't arrived. People who came in well after the 4 of us had their starters and main meals before us. It got to the point we were fed up and just wanted to leave. When our food did eventually arrive, the chips were stony cold and we had to ask for fresh chips. The second visit was another case of great service, but a long wait for our main courses. The restaurant was hardly busy, and as well as that we had people round about getting their orders before us yet again. In defence, the long wait may be due to my ordering a pizza both times. The food was really nice and I will definitely be back. It's just annoying when you have to wait so long for food, especially when other people who arrive 20 or 30 minutes after you get their food before you.

The decor is good and staff were polite. The food was ok, bit a bit pricey for what it was, but not totally unrealistic. Would eat here again, but would not be my first choice of similar place to eat in the area

Today I had a great lunch of southern fried chicken and chips. A pleasure to be served by Lauren, thoroughly nice young woman.

Ordered food last night took, took 2 and half hours to arrive, was a busy night but could of been prewarned us then we would of collected. Food was stone cold, real shame as we usually love ordering from here but about £50 worth of food that was cold n soggy. Not ordering again.

First time customer and worth the visit.

Want to start this by saying - by all means come for a drink! It's a typical pub and quite spacious. However do NOT order the food, it is retched. I popped in here because it was pouring it down and I fancied something to eat. I wasn't expecting anything amazing (it's pub grub) but after I waited twenty minutes to be served I ordered a burger and I received something that....well it definitely looked like a burger. However, that was the only thing the burger I was given had in common to any other burger. I couldn't eat it, it genuinely made me gag. Even worse I paid £15 for my suffering. Again, by all means come in here for a drink. I think it's probably quite a nice place to come have a drink with mates, but for your own good avoid the food . Also I do NOT believe in leaving wholly negative reviews without recommending somewhere else. So fat yankees do bad burgers but where do I get a good burger in hamilton? Well you get an excellent burger in the Beefeater which does a 5.99 lunch time menu. And it's a REALLY good burger.

Food is delicious, staff are great and reasonably priced. Recommended.

Good friendly service fresh hot food great lunch for a birthday celebration

Was so disappointed in our meal this Christmas Eve. Waited ages for our meal to come. Was approached at one point to apologise for the wait and told it would be 10 minutes as they were busy doing delivery orders. Restaurant was empty only one other table taken. Surely we should have been priority. Waited about another hour and the food was terrible when it arrived. Rice was stone cold. Macaroni swimming in oil. Some food was burnt. Did complain but nobody took our complaints on board.

Visited recently with some friends - overall, food was nice (albeit very large portions) and drinks were great, but slow service. Service We were seated (we had a booking) and it was over 20 minutes for our drinks order to be taken all in. Cautious of our 2 hour slot, we eventually managed to get someone’s attention and get drinks menus after 10 minutes, and then 10 minutes later again got someone’s attention to actually take the order. I will note that there only seemed to be one person working the entire floor. When the drinks arrived they were great and there was a good selection of cocktails. Food We got starters of the loaded cheese and jalepino fries which were excellent, I would get them again! For mains we went for macaroni and enchiladas. The macaroni was tasty, my partner enjoyed the enchiladas but said overall it felt like the focus was on portion size and loads of cheese instead of quality. Overall, a great wee local food place and I’ll definitely be back for food and cocktails with my pals.

Love this place! The food is amazing and there is plenty to choose from. The prices are amazing also. Been here twice once with a friend and another time with my mum and brother, who both loved it as much as me. The cocktail menu also looks so yummy but was driving so couldnt get one, will need to return for one. The burger was great and i have also had the chicken strips which are also amazing. Chocolate cake yummy too. The staff were so chatty and welcoming and even offered us a discount if we left them a review on facebook as they mentioned after lockdown the place has been very quiet. Definitely come here for a great lunch /dinner

Dined on a Saturday night, place was less than half full. We waited 20 minutes after seated to even get a drinks order taken. Seemed only 1 waitress was on the floor which wasn’t ideal and meant we waited a lot longer than usual to be served/plates cleared/drinks brought to us. Cocktail selection is pretty good and they were tasty. Food is average but portions are big. Would go back for drinks but not food.

Myself and my 2 friends from Wigan after being highly recommended by a work colleague,gave this a try on Sunday night. 1 of my friends ordered the beef burger and when his meal arrived he was given a chicken burger,I myself ordered pasta which came with garlic bread but on arrival it came with plain toasted bread. We spoke to a member of staff about the burger situation but my friend said it was fine. I was told my garlic bread was being sorted but it never got to our table. Disappointing customer service.

Had high hopes after reading the reviews. Seated quickly and offered drinks. Offered bottle of wine for 12.50 excellent value for restaurant setting but no bottles of rose, could only have a glass of rose. Food order taken. Food arrived and one member of the party had ordered Beef and received Southern Fried Chicken. Other member of party ordered pasta with garlic bread and when it arrived it was plain crusty toasted bread. We brought to staffs attention and told garlic would be sorted but nothing ever came. No offer of free coffee drink or a small discount..Shame as the one who got their order right really enjoyed their food. Unfortunately won't be going back. Staff friendly but did not really help

Great food, drinks and cocktails in a great location. There's a very welcoming atmosphere and the staff are all super helpful. Even great as a takeaway. Fat Yankees is a firm favorite in our house!

Found Fat Yankees to be friendly with very helpful staff . Their menu has plentiful variety of food on offer they also have a good drinks menu to choose from. I would certainly recommend Fat Yankees for the shopper nipping in for a bit of lunch. Or for families going out for the evening meal .

Great food made fresh at a great price. What more could you want? Vibe inside is chill, good music, staff are super friendly, recommend the haggis burger - will be back!!

Was a disgrace waited a hour and a half for our meal they were more interested than doing there deliveries than serving there customers in restaurant

We went with our kids on a saturday afternoon It was busy and food did take a while longer than usual to arrive, But that's the same as anywhere else on a Saturday. The Staff are friendly and helpful. It is good pub food and good value for money. Its not overpriced and you do get a good portion size. The kids meal is great value as well. Food always arrives hot and is always tasty. Would recommend to anyone.

3 of us arrived at 8pm, we were the last diners to book. Place was completely empty within half hour. Hence I have no idea why our variety of extremely cold starters took 35 minutes to arrive. Nor why our mains took 75 minutes to arrive. In summary, the food was cold, generally lacking in taste and of low quality. A shockingly poor experience. Add to that the most miserable waitress I have had the pleasure of being served by in my life, obviously a single word from her as she lifted plates would have been too much to ask. All in all, a shocking experience. They only mustered 2 stars as we had a 20% reduction in the bill and the ribs were reasonable. Never, ever return. A simply awful experience.

We used to go to fat yankees all the time. Ordered one tonight for the first time in a while , seems it’s went downhill. They got our order wrong & the dip we got for the wings was well off . Was sick because of it . Don’t think we’ll be ordering again from the place!

Went along tonight for the set menu and was absolutely delighted. Good covid measures in place, sanitizer at every table. The food was delicious, large portions of good quality food,and 3 lovely courses for less than £13 each. Staff were top notch. Friendly and attentive, and kept to the regulations perfectly. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, and the background music was ideally suited. Had a wee nosey at they other diners food, and has given us ideas for next time! Oh yes, we will definitely be back. Thank you for a great meal.

Foods amazing but was rather annoyed when I phoned for a delivery and was told oh can't do it as we're too busy! Glad you all are busy but it was us at home that kept your business alive through all lockdowns......get it together please and get more drivers

Used to go here all the time just for the buffalo wings, unfortunately they have changed from being flats to full wings and i preferred the flats tbh. But we still love it as the ying yang chicken is great, along with the buffalo pizza. Great place to eat

DO NOT go there! They charge you £2.50 for TAP WATER, & the service was ABYSMAL, worse than FAWLTY TOWERS.

Just recently found out about this place since lockdown it’s amazing ! So tasty all the food we got was spot on and really reasonable prices cocktails so nice so many options !

From order being placed until delivery was 3 hours and that was within the Hamilton area!! After having been in contact with the restaurant I was assured my food was on the way and would be “piping hot”. Not such the case on either front!...

Great night had for a works night out - Reece, Sophie and Karen were actually brilliant - food was great, service was fantastic! Can’t fault it tonight, would recommend popping in and grabbing a bite to eat and quality banter from the staff! It was Karen’s second shift who actually seemed was there for years! Karen thank you!
