The seafood pasta was not great. Tasted nice but the mussels & clams shells were mostly empty. Not enough pasta either. Veal dish & cod dish very nice

Very noisy. After a long day at work, the last thing you want to hear is screaming children. We requested to be moved which was better. The music could be a little softer as you shouting to ha e conversation. Overall great service amd lovely food.

Calamari was not great but loved the chicken Cacciatore and lasagne.

First visit. Located near Asda Southgate. Friendly service and polite staff. Traditional decor inside and clean toilets too. As there were six of us, staff decided to move us to a more comfortable table, very accommodating. For starters, we ordered the garlic bread, fried calamari, breaded mushrooms. The kids had spaghetti bolognese £7 each, homemade lasagne £12.90, spinach and ricotta ravioli and prawn tagliatelle. We also ordered the garlic broccoli as a side which was cooked perfectly, although the garlic could have been stronger. The homemade lasagne portion didn't seem very substantial but it did taste flavoursome. The virgin mojito was lovely too. Would definitely like visit again. They even surprised my friend's daughter with a candle on her birthday cupcake and sang Happy birthday!!

It's a bit dark, could do with more aesthetics but the food is amazing, it is really lovely and the staff are great. It's a bit pricey but it tastes authentic in my opinion. They're so cute for people's birthdays..

It had been a while since visiting Fantozzi again , for a birthday celebration . The food in our view is excellent and we tried a new dish for us , the fish soup...highly recommended. The atmosphere is something we enjoy at Fantozzi with a warm , homely feel. The waiters are very pleasant and helpful . However, on this visit we found the waiting for service at certain points very frustrating, despite the restaurant being under half full. Menu , drinks and placing order were fine but we were left with main courses on the table and no cutlery . We waited and waited and in the end had to ask. The wait for a desert menu was far too long , as it was clear that we had all finished for some while. Another wait followed after receiving the bill. I had to go to the bar counter before it was realised we wanted to pay , having played with my bright red debit card between my fingers at the table for quite a while. The service during previous visits has been exemplary , so we are putting this one down as a 'bad hair day' , and plan to visit again for the next birthday !

My favourite local restaurant! Fantozzi has been a regular visit for birthdays and Christmases since we moved to Southgate. Always fantastic food and service.

Lovely bolognaise and house red good too. Will definitely return sometime. Definitely recommend Fantozzi as a place for Italian food and wine fans!

The smell of delicious food hits you as you enter the door. The servers were very attentive and accomidating. Incredibly reasonably priced for the excellent standard of food. We will definitely be back!

The audacity of this restaurant amazes me. Ordered a steak which was clearly cooked from frozen and over cooked. Even though i asked for medium/well. When i questioned it with the manager he told me, with his versace attitude they cant go back from well to medium anymore. In other words; "thats what your getting". Typical. My pizza came late. Which was, this time undercooked with hardly any toppings i paid extra for. I wish i read the reviews before visiting. Absolute joke of an establishment and service! I could have got a better steak for a quarter of the price from harvester and a much better pizza from papa john's. I wish i went Kervan down the road. Quality food and quality service there. I would steer clear from these jokers after reading this. Or, if you dont believe me just go and see for yourself.

We love fantozzi, the food is delicious and never disappoints, the staff was lovely and attentive and there’s always a happy and relaxed vibe and the restaurant. Thank you for another great meal.

I went here a few years ago and decided to come back and it never disappointed (besides the ribs coming off the menu). The pasta was perfect and the steak was done to our liking. The Banoffee Pie was to die for and you should see me back here very soon. 10/10

Iv been comming to fantozzi for years but our visit last night was very disapointing. We were a group of 10 placed in a very tight and crampy space right near the kitchen doors which wasnt the best start. I brang family and friends with very high hopes. It was not busy when we arrived but everytime we asked for the waiters attention they were rude and we felt like they were unhappy about it. The food was not to its usual standards. The steak was overcooked like rubber, the pizzas arrived later than the rest if the meals and was very undercooked and the LINGUINE ALL’ASTICE arrived which was supposed to be half a lobster with practically an empty lobster shell with absolutely no lobster in sight, very cheeky and ridiculous price of £26 for a plate of linguine. The service charge at the end came to over £38 which was a ridiculous amount for service which we did not seem justifiable and when we asked to remove this we were told we couldnt because we were a large group. I dont see how us being a large group could justify the amount of service charge when we were dumped in the corner and nobody attended us. The tables were left dirty plates and glasses and empty drinks were not collected and the table was overloaded with things that should have been cleared. If im paying a service charge of over £38 i expect the service to be justified. The manager got rude when we asked to remove this charge and we had to pay for it. Which iv never heard of service charge is not cumpulsory very greedy. I felt very embarassed to the group of people i brang here and definetly wont be returning.

We had a fabulous birthday dinner for my 6 year old. The food for the children was great, all of the adults enjoyed their meals, the atmosphere when you have a birthday is great and the restaurant is clean and not squashed which is what you experience in other places. We love it here!

As the place was full, we had to wait rather longer than usual for our food. The staff were very gracious and anxious to try to please us and gave apologies for the delays.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Fantozzi. Everything was cooked to perfection and the staff were super attentive. Thanks for putting a smile on our face!

Bad and stressful service. We arrived at 7.50pm and were told to come back at 8.30pm and that our tables would be ready for then We returned at 8.30pm but people in front of us who had not been waiting for as long were seated first then at 8.45pm we were seated at a bad table with no space to even fit into our seats whilst the table that we were meant to sit at was given to other people who had arrived after us. When we finally were seated at an appropriate table, the waiter was rude and ignored us when we said we were ready to order. After chasing down another waiter to take our order we finally ate at 9.30pm. Due to the rude customer service and hours wasted, we will definitely not be returning unfortunately. Although the food quality was good I would be hesitant to recommend Fantozzi. Other Italian restaurants in Central London have much better customer service and professionalism whilst delivering the same quality food.

Wonderful, tasty and fresh food as always. Service impeccable and good atmosphere. We go earlier in the evening as we prefer a quieter atmosphere although it’s still buzzing. Always busy and a great venue for special occasions or a casual meal out.

Best Italian restaurant … amazing pizza . I would recommend !

We booked the restaurant on-line after looking at reviews and website. We were just spending one evening in Southgate at the weekend so cannot compare the venue to other local places to eat. However the restaurant was very clean and busy with many families when we arrived in the early evening. The staff were all polite and friendly, the food was lovely and served in good time.

Lovely menu and great service. The staff were attentive and friendly. The decor is traditional and welcoming. ALL of the food was delicious and came out hot. Great gluten free pizza and pasta options even with the option of a gluten free cheesecake for dessert! Other desserts were also delicious, I recommend the profiteroles. Definitely recommend a visit.

Visited in person after a few years and thoroughly enjoyed it. Always has had a good selection for vegetarians. I enjoyed the garlic pizza bread, vegetarian calzone and tiramisu.

Used to be great pre-Covid. Now nobody picks up the phone, they are still on a limited menu, not as friendly when you go in. Sad to a once great place become complacent

Ever since this restaurant got taken over its just not the same anymore. Food is terrible.

Don't bother getting takeaway from this place. It's hectic and very unorganised. I spent over £100 ordering what I hoped would be a pleasant evening takeaway. I went in person to collect, and I was told on multiple occasions that my order was not ready as they were very busy. After waiting 20 minutes, I was told that the food was always ready and was stewing in storage. It would have been cheaper and quicker had I gone in person. Overall, it was a very expensive lesson learnt. The food was average, over priced and the collection service was non-existent.

Pizzas are great but some of the starters are tiny such as the aubergine starter even though it's priced highly.

Really nice personel and good service. And then the food Just amazing. We had pasta aribiata, simple but so flavourfull. And the roasted chickin in butter so moist, Just loved it. And the pizza is to die for. Its a pitty they dont have childrens menu's.

This was our third visit and unfortunately a few of the dishes were not a representation of the amazing dishes we had had before on previous visits. I also made it clear when I booked that it was my daughter's 21st and sons 18th and this time they did not do the birthday thing that they did for my wife a few weeks ago. It was still nice but three dishes were not up to par. Such a shame but we will visit again.

We had planned to dine at Fantozzis long in advance so I was really looking forward to an authentic Italian experience. I really don’t like to be negative or nasty and I only mean to give constructive feedback I didn’t feel welcomed by the staff at all. I wasn’t introduced to my server(s) (perhaps this is a personal preference but I like to know the name of the person who is serving me and have a proper introduction). The person I believe was the manager and a female member of staff seemed quite blunt/moody and I felt no interest was taken in their service. The food was OK, it didn’t blow my mind but there was a wide range on the menu which is great and the drinks were all lovely.

Amazing restaurant! There are so many restaurants coming and going in Southgate but Fantozzi is one of the longest standing and I can see why! The food looks presentable and tastes amazing and the service was quick too. Have been coming here for years and will continue to do so!

A real rustic feel to the decor of this restaurant which really adds to the atmosphere of being in Italy. The food is fresh and prepared with quality ingredients. Staff are friendly with a positive attitude. Parking is on the street only or in the nearby Asda (2 minutes walk. 2 hrs free).

It was pricey, but large portions. It wasn't bad, your usual below the quality of pizza express. The wine is well priced and they have a good selection. I don't recommend this place. Service was bad too.

So glad we ignored the bad reviews and took a chance on this place ! The service was excellent - there were lots of attentive and helpful waitors. The restaurant is large and brightly lit but we were given a cosy under-arch table . The lasagne was the star of the show - huge , authentic and absolutely delicious - very like those you eat in northern Italy. The pizza was tasty with a thin base and plenty of topping . The tiramisu to finish was big enough to share . Would defo return.

Nice staff, good selection of red and white wine but food was average. We went on Friday evening and it was very noisy and loud.

Although we don't eat in these days (since pandemic), Fantozzi is our favourite provider of excellent pizza for home delivery/collection.

Don’t really want to leave a negative review, this is my local restaurant and we have been dining here for years. However, this isn’t the first time this has happened in the last few months. The pizzas are good - although different from a few years back but service is so bad if you are dining. No welcome, you have to try and get someone’s attention to be served - there doesn’t seem to be servers assigned to a section. I kept calling the guys in the yellow t shirt first so that someone could take our order & then to order dessert ( waited 10 min). They have a strange system that the people in yellow t shirt have to ask the guys jn black shirts - there were two of them in black shirts and they were far away. We ordered a chocolate fondant for dessert - finally. I was told the wait would be 15 mins, I mentioned I had waited over 10 mins to be served and the server looked at me angrily & said they were busy. No way was the restaurant at full capacity. I’ve been to Bella Italia at pre theatre times & service has been friendly and efficient. It’s a shame, but pizzas are pricey ( £14 each) & 4% service charge is added. In 90 mins we had just 2 pizzas and a dessert. Would have ordered a coffee but it seemed too much effort to order!! Btw I normally order a del Bosco pizza, ordered a patrizio this time, it was good but it wasn’t clear from the menu that it wouldn’t have any tomato sauce. Here some communication would have been good. I would suggest that they don’t take the bookings if they can’t cope.

Authentic and delicious pizzas. The portions are generous. Calamari and meat board are both really tasty. The service can be really slow on Fridays, but the atmosphere is very pleasant. Makes for a good low-key date night.

Located close to Southgate station on the high street, an amazing place to eat some good Italian food and choose from a nice drinks selection. Amazing service and delicious food.

Our friends took us here for a Saturday catch up lunch. We live on the South Coast and have nothing as good as this. The food was delicious, it came on hot plates and was pipping hot. The portion size were generous and well presented. The whole place was spotlessly clean, bright and cheerful. Lastly the staff were so amazing friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I have no hesitation in recommending Fantozzi Only one downside We live too far away too make this our regular go to restaurant. Thank you Keith and Dax

For many years I have been a customer of Fantozzi both eating in and takeaways. But that is twice that I have ordered pizza via Deliveroo and have been hugely disappointed with them! I did try to email the restaurant first before writing this review but there were not contact details on their website. New management? New owners? New chef? New Pizzaiolo? Pizzas are not the same, the quality and taste were poor. The dough was different- not as nice as before, the quality of ingredients were poor, the cheese was so tasteless! Their garlic bread used to be the best in the area- not any more! What a shame! Looks like its either Pizza Express or Dicarlo's Wood Fired Pizza and Pasta from now onwards!

Lovely warm hospitable service from front of house. Fantozzi keeps dishing out Italian favourites, We had lobster linguine and peppercorn steak. Great quality ingredients and good value. We love the warm friendly atmosphere here. A gorgeous gem of a restaurant in North London.

Pork not fish …veggies beware we ordered a fish platter for 2 way too much food so we decided to take it home only to realise it was deep fried pork …..shocking for such a lovely restaurant and also we didn’t get what we left they took most of our fish and left us with only what can be described as pork or ham

I have had a very average experience with my husband in this restaurant although the service was great, local place, cozy. I ordered a carbonara pasta and as a very demanding Italian food lover, it didn’t meet my expectations, unfortunately!

A classic, good-value, italian restaurant the delivers in all the important criteria. The pizza here is great and very popular. The veal escalope and lobster linguine however are very good too.

Really gone downhill. Service is now terrible. Got my order wrong, put burning hot plates in front of my young children. They refused to plate the food into colder plates for the kids and instead brought me two plates and told me to do it myself. They then refused to remove the "Compulsory" service charge from the bill. New management has spoilt what used to be a great local Italian. Now it's more like a cafe. They lost more than one family of loyal customers tonight. Avoid!
