Falafel in Belfast

Stumbled upon this place last night. We had a meal and a selection of desserts. Really tasty food. Friendly service and good conversation with the young lady who was serving us.

Amazing! Super good service and the food was so authentic and delicious. We had felafel's and our daughter had chicken skewer wrap. My husband had Turkish coffe which he loved and the humus and garlic sauce in the wraps were delicious.

Excellent food, lovely staff and great atmosphere. Highly recommend! I come here every week with friends for lunch. Great customer service. Food is always made with freshest ingredients. A treat to visit.

We ordered a takeaway for lunch at work, it was ready right on time and the food was delicious. We had the chicken shawarma, falafel and feta, and spinach and feta wraps and they were all great.

Ate here twice in the last fortnight and it is the real deal. On my first visit I had the lamb schwarma and the second time I had the mixed grill. Both dishes were amazing. A real taste of the Middle East. I'm dying to taste their Turkish coffee also. I'll definitely be back.

Called for lunch on way into city centre. Food arrived quickly and good favours. Way overpriced for what you get. Door wouldn’t close properly so it was freezing as the wind howled. Went to pay with card and waitress looks blankly at you announcing “it’s cash only” .No signs up on door or anywhere. Find this unacceptable in 2020 as most people tap & go. Had to set off to look for hole in the wall. Won’t be back as I don’t carry cash.

I previously got these falafel places mixed up in review. This is Falafel Eatery and Coffee house. It is a Palestinian restaurant doing Mediterranean cuisine.So do not confuse with a lesser falafel place a few doors away. I ordered Moroccan meatball tagine with rice. It came in a tagine pot bubbling hot and with saffron rice. Very nice and filling and good price. The staff are Lithuanian and Iranian girls and very pleasant. I had mint tea and baklava. Beware this place only takes cash.The main course at 10.00 stg was fine but 2.50 for a small baklava that costs 0.50 pence two doors away is exorbitant. However I will be back and recommend it highly.

This is a treat if you like good Middle Eastern food. There is a good selection for veggies and meat eaters. The portions are substantial and the quality high. Dips, salads and ravines all very tasty. On the downside, sticky tables and shabby on the wrong side of chic. Would definitely eat here again for the food though. Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s cash only.

No halal logo on the menu... Neither waitress or cleaner seemed to be muslim, but i took her word that it was halal and ate We were charged 50p as misc but dont know what it was as didnt order any extras... Wouldnt go back if i was in belfast again

Called in for a quick late dinner for two. The place was empty (9.15 on a Tuesday night) but two other tables filled up whilst we were there. No alcohol on the menu and it’s not byo - waitress said it’s because they are halal. Good to know. Also they don’t have a credit card reader - so it’s cash only. There are at least 3 bank links within one minutes walk if, like us, you didn’t realise this. Our waitress (from Maryland) was very nice and was great at recommending what to have. She was spot on! For mezze we ordered stuffed vine leaves (you get 6 of them) and Magmhoor (sorry if this is misspelt). The latter is chickpeas with a spicy tomato and onion sauce. For mains we ordered a lamb kofta and a chicken shawarma. We ordered the plates rather than wraps, and the plates are huge! Plenty of flat bread, salad and hummus on the side. All really flavourful! All 4 were brought to the table together and our waitress boxed up our leftovers - which made for a lovey lunch the next day. The baklava were really lovely too. The bill (which also included 2 diet cokes, a sparkling water and an espresso) came to just over £35. Excellent value! The decor is a little drab but please don’t let that put you off! I’d definitely go back and highly recommend it!

A very unfriendly waitress who made us feel very unwelcome. Food was not nice and slightly overpriced. Would not recommend and won’t be back for sure! I’m very disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone!!!!

This place serves delicious, authentic Lebanese, Middle Eastern food. All the food is fresh cooked to order and tastes delicious. Great services and very good value for money.

Cené con mi pareja allí. Teníamos hummus con carne que era genial. Pero los platos principales que pedimos fueron decepcionantes. El sándwich de falafel palasteniano era bueno, pero tenía lechuga, que es un gran NO, ya que la lechuga se vuelve empapada y arruina el sabor. El shish taouk tenía un gran condimento, pero la porción de pollo era pequeña y, lamentablemente, el pollo estaba seco y recocido. Sentimos que los precios de la calidad eran demasiado altos. En general no volvería a hacerlo de nuevo.

Visitamos hoy para almorzar con la familia. Gran selección de platos para elegir. El shawarma era encantador, se servía con ensalada de pan y pan de molde. También compartimos tabulé, ensalada griega y tzatziki. Teníamos baklava y café para terminar. Buena selección de tés y zumos de fruta para acompañar el almuerzo. Definitivamente recomendaría una visita

I am a fan of moroccan food and decided to have a meatball tajine here. It is probably not the same stuff you will get in Marrakech but still I had a very pleasant and affordable meal. The people who work here are nice.

Me and my dad thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here! The tea and baklava was sweet but nice. I had a kebab plate whereas my Baba had the falafel plate: both of which were delicious. If I end up going to university in Belfast I will definitely come here often!

I live in Belfast and this is a regular haunt. Small and immaculately clean gets busy but not too busy with beautifully prepared and fresh middle eastern food. There is no alcohol bYut they serve fruit juices and mint tea etc. Do try the platters they are delicious . My favorite is the falafel and chicken shwarma also try the side dishes such as the faul beans. Also great for vegetarians. The portions are really big and you can eat for £10 a head whats not to like!!

Fuimos a pedir un postre y vimos que dulces típicos árabes (baklava) costaban 2 libras. Pedimos 2 y nos quisieron cobrar 3 libras la unidad. Lo dijimos pero no hace nada por no discutir lo dejamos así pero ellos dijeron que estos eran dos y quedan un poco más grandes y el precio distinto.... Vamos.... El típico timo al turista...

My girlfriend and I went here on the recommendation of a friend and I have to say we had a simply delicious meal.

Although a bit late today, they have always been delivering ahead of scheduled time before; within 20-25 minutes. As for the food, I get the falafel plate and sweet potato fries. Always really nice quality!!

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. NONE of the items had anything advertised. No vine leaves, baba ganoush, no dressing, no apple in the salad which was just iceberg lettuce. The shawarma isn't shawarma, it's dry pre cooked chicken pieces on iceberg lettuce. I am furious I spent money on this. The manager wasn't there when I called and the person on the phone wasn't helpful. Disgusting rip off with disgusting food.

Absolutely brilliant food and a very reasonable price! We had 2 nights in Belfast and visited this restaurant twice it was so good. Better than a lot of similar places in London.

This place was a big surprise for me. The decoration is just beautiful, the food is also just AMAZING. I had the falafel bites and the lamb and it was very delicious. This is a place where you have a very nice food for a good price. I really recommend this place.

Great value ...three course for two about £28 ... spicy mushroom starter / falafel wrap and Baklava the mint tea looked lovely ... only thing my friend missed was a glass of wine she had lamb / flat bread and hummus... we were there from 7.30 -9pm having a good catch up and they didn’t rush us away ... better menu than last time I was there .. all good

I used to order from here all the time but the quality and quantity of the food has deteriorated rapidly and the delivery is often late. I think this will be the last time I order from here. Seriously disappointed as it used to be one of my favourites.

One of my colleagues invited a few of us to Falafel eatery & coffee house. My partner and I had a really enjoyable experience.

You can sit in at this casual restaurant and be served by very friendly staff. We were disappointed as there was no lamb and a lot of the menu was lamb. We had chicken shawarma and it was very tasty!

The food was really good and tasty, the waitress took the time to explain us what were the different meals on the menu that we didn’t know and she made sure that we enjoyed what we finally chose. Not expensive at all for the plate we had.

I don't know if they changed owners or what, but definitely the waitresses were not the same ones (there used to be an Italian woman and another lady, and they were just the best!). They tried to charge me more for a plate that on the menu was cheaper! The waitress just said, 'oh that's what the receipt says' even after showing her the menu. We ordered tabbouleh salad and it came with no bulgur wheat! When we told her, she replied that the bulgur wheat must be in the sauce... what? Just lettuce and tomatoes and they charged us anyway when we said there was no bulgur wheat - crazy! They just discounted 40p. Really? Customer service was poor, no apologies whatsoever. So sad. The plate I usually order (shawarma chicken plate) was half of what it used to be, no chile on the salad, which used to always be there. We also ordered pesto hummus and there was virtually no pesto in it. So sad as I used to go regularly and everything was always spot on. Hope it was just a one-off but probably won't know as wouldn't like to go back now...

I wanted to spoil myself with a nice lunch. Called in before the lunchtime rush and treated myself with a lamb kofta plate. Staff friendly and helpful and enjoyed a pleasant meal. Surroundings are cosy but comfortable and service was timed for you to enjoy your meal and not feel rushed.

Visitamos La Casa de falafel como estábamos deseando algunas verduras después de pasar mucho tiempo en Escocia. La envoltura era vegetariano como 11/10 tenía cantidades generosas de queso feta y espinacas. El único inconveniente era que el falafels no son las mejores en el mundo, un poco de cena yry y no como sabrosa. En general muy contentos con todas las demás opciones vegetarianas disponibles.

If you are looking to try the Lebanese food, this is the one. I know because I am Lebanese, and rarely found good Lebanese restaurants abroad. This one is original. Extremely good.

We received half our order? When we phoned we spent 20 mins answering questions and queries about what we had and had not received. The girl spoke with her manager about my suggestion to forget the rest of the order as the rest of the meal was spoilt by this time. I suggested they could come and collect the delivery as I would not be eating it, as my wife had not received her meal. The manager at no stage had the manners to talk with us or offer an explanation for the error. They took my details, that was it. I would suggest that they pay more attention to putting an error right rather than lengthy questioning of the customer to no avail. I will not be spending over £15 for nothing with Falafel again.

I’ll be honest, this is the second time I’ve been disappointed with the food from Falafel. First time I ordered the spicy potato and received a call to say they’d ran out and would send spicy chips instead, when the door arrived it was plain (not even salted) half cooked chips that were inedible, we had to cook them in the oven before eating. This time I’ve both plates arrived with no baba ghanoush and the portion sizes are laughable!!! Paid £5.95 for 6 bits of chicken and a handful of salad? Portion size for sweet potato fries was a joke, and wrapping this in tin foil is a good idea, why?? Soggy.... Can’t say I’ll be ordering again.

Great food as always. Disappointed with the delay in delivery. Called the restaurant and was advised that all the deliveries were away out - essentially; it'll be there when it gets there. Ultimately 30 minutes after confirmed time. Again though, the food is absolutely fantastic.

The hardest thing is choosing what to have as everything on the menu sounds yummy. Great for lunch or dinner. Cosy middle eastern decor and friendly service. Portions are big! Recommend the spicy potatoes and the falafel of course 😋

Extremely late, food freezing on arrival, all items not included- a substitution for spicy potato was given in the form of cold sweaty chips- not even the same price as what we paid for the spicy potato! Food packaging extremely poor- wrapping it in tinfoil does not keep the food palatable after 1.5hours. We actually binned all of the food. Just Eat delivery drivers were blamed for late delivery but they cannot take the blame for substandard food. So disappointed as usually food whilst dining in the restaurant is (was) great!

I was bumbling about Botanic, not much planned but was peckish for something a bit different. Didn't fancy a burger (maybe I'm ill?). I have walked past this place many times but never ventured in.

The food was not as advertised. The baba ganoush was missing, there was hardly any hummus on the plate & the tabouleh salad was just a few bits of lettuce. The falafel was lovely, but would not order from this place again.

Never, ever had anything less than the best quality from here. The falafel is excellent and tonight I had the shish taouk plate and the partner had the chicken shawarma, both of which were on point. The fattoush salad and the spicy potatoes are delicious. Highly recommend and will definitely continue to order from here!

Después de una lectura de una revisión que consideró el mejor restaurante libanés en Botanic Avenue hable en una noche muy fría el martes. Falafel sorprendió a tope con los clientes y el personal era muy amable y atento. Rápidamente nos sentamos pero cambiaron como el proyecto de frío de la puerta hacía que, a pesar de mover el proyecto usando un abrigo, mientras come, esencial. Esta fue la pena para el entrante y plato principal. Las patatas fritas de camote eran excelentes y el pollo tagines con cuscús impresionados. (probamos el tajín con arroz y era incluso mejor)

Went here for lunch with friends and had a beautiful meal. Freshly prepared falafel - crisp and fluffy and not too dry. Could even see the cumin seeds in the crispy coating. With that, a lovely fresh salad with a pickled chilli, tahini sauce, a stuffed vine leaf and, of course, hummus! Served with some flat bread and a drizzle of olive oil. Also had some chips and aioli, which were lovely. Good, friendly service and very reasonably priced. The falafel plate was £4.50, for example, and very filling. Also, they serve good coffee too. Next time you’re considering yet another Boojum, don’t! Go here instead.

Ordered to take home some food for my parents who were visiting our house - it was delicious! One of the very few places in Belfast that make falafal properly!

From order to delivery was over 90 minutes. First they didn’t have one if items so I agreed a substitution. I also made notes to replace bread for extra hummus but everything arrived cold with bread and very little hummus. Currently eating 4 cold, hard and dry falafel with almost no hummus.

The food was absolutely amazing,fresh and sooooo tasty bit late but still warm.Need to try everything from the menu Will definitely order again :)

Generous portions, good food and best of all, cheap! Large falafel wrap for £3.95. Much better than Umi falafel up the road.

First time ordering from here, will defo order again. Was slightly put off by some reviews saying cold food, long delivery but orfered anyway and had no such issues. Food arrived on time and was still warm. Lovely flavours and very generous portions. We ordered a couple of things to share between two people but it would have done to be shared between more.

A very unassuming looking place and usually we avoid anywhere that states cash only but this is certainly worth a visit. I had vegetables and mixed bean tagine which came with an enormous portion of rice as well. (I may have swapped some of that for the sweet potato fries that also happened to be ordered... ) the tagine was amazing with excellent flavours and a very generous portion. The chicken schwarma was also very good. Definitely worth a visit and amazingly good value anywhere especially a major city.

Me encanta la ensalada, arroz, pollo, pan plana, humus y falafel. Este lo tiene todo en un plato por menos de 10 libras por persona, bebida incluida.

Dios mío, es como un concierto en mi boca, especias, nuez, ensalada fresca podría seguir y seguir. Mi esposa es de Sidney, Australia, donde la comida es de primera clase mundial y dijo que este era el mejor falafel kebab nunca.

La comida aquí es increíble y tan buena relación calidad-precio. El plato de falafel es tan bueno, lo recomiendo! Batatas fritas también son estupendas. El ambiente no es tan especial y que puede hacer un poco de frío debido a las mesas estar al lado de la puerta, pero en general es un lugar agradable con comida increíble por excelentes precios.

Pedí el plato de falafel que incluía 4 piezas de generoso falafel, algunos rellenos de hojas de vid un humus, pitta y ensalada. Cuesta menos que 5 libras por todo eso. El falafel era bien preparado, el equilibrio justo de las especias y la sal, la pitta era cálida y recién hecho. La hoja de parra fue un detalle encantador como el pickled chili, seguro que aquí para el almuerzo con regularidad a partir de ahora. Podría incluso ser vegetariano así puedo comer cada día.

There are many places to eat on Botanic Avenue, so I feel really lucky that I ended up going to Falafel. There was quite a range of dishes available, and all seemed very reasonably priced (most were around £5).

This is the first time I have had a takeaway from here, I have eaten in the restaurant and the food is always great. The falafel plate was delicious! The only thing is the bread was quite tough and the sweet potato fries were soggy. I think maybe better packaging would allow the food to travel better. Overall food very good and will definitely order again!

Good quality food, enjoyed the falafel plate which came with a large pita and some tahini dip as well as the tabouleh salad. All value for money for £10. Delivery time was estimated at 19:50, but it didn't show up until nearly 20:05 and the driver didn't say much when he showed up, just gave me the food and took the money.

Very good quality. Will be ordering again soon.
