Fairways in Highland

A would have given a half rating but t you can’t get one on Trip Advisor. I have give a one star because the staff are that young and immature they’re seems to be no leadership from older members of staff which there are very few off. We went to Fairways for a function and they the restaurant for food. Which wasn’t impressed for what we paid. I certainly won’t be going back for a function or the restaurant.

Visited this restaurant today with friends. A superb friendly welcome from Neil the manager. The service from Emma and Ronnie was brilliant, great attention to detail and very friendly. The standard of food was first class, I had Mac and Cheese which was amazing, the fish and chips were delicious. Well done to everyone. Do not hesitate to visit this restaurant,spotlessly clean.

Always enjoy coming here. The menu has just a bit of everything, and does it well enough. Prices are also very reasonable to boot.

Came here for a couple of drinks and decided to have a pizza. Tried the Hoisin Mushroom pizza. It was absolutely delightful. The service was fast and friendly. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone in the area.

Fairways hosted my husband's surprise 50th birthday. As a venue, have to say it was ideal. Parking, great function room, friendly and hospitable staff, great buffet, attentive communication and had a great night. Highly recommend for a function.

We booked this place for a large table for our family to go after our grandpas funeral. We arrived a lot earlier than expected. The staff couldn’t of been more accommodating. They got us a different room, which had a bar and was perfect for us all to order our own food. The drinks are decent priced. Food was slightly pricey although the food definitely matched the prices. It was all fresh hot and tasty. Everyone loved the food. I also love the makeover it’s had. We have many memories at this place and they’re will definitely be a few more in future.

Nice cosy restaurant friendly staff we were sitting a long time before someone cam and took our order . food Portions have been reduced a lot since I was there last probably smaller plates .. went home hungry not good . Ohh the toilets water clean

Our first visit to the Fairways cafe for lunch was very enjoyable. It was clean and comfortable and we were served by very friendly staff. Our food was fresh and hot and was served promptly. We’ll definitely go back to eat there again.

Birthday celebrations..Staff were outstanding, especially our main waitress. Food was great, and served promptly.

Having been a regular at Fairways I was totally disappointed, the staff were fine however, the food was disappointing together with a significant increase in cost it was not value for money. I started with the sharing nachos to start and this was enjoyable. The main meal, wagu burger came with breeze block sized chips, a snippet of salad some colslaw, the burger it self was plain, dry & undressed, this was not value for money, and the same with my partners dish of fried chicken, same size chips, hard batter with little dry chicken. The final straw was two pieces of fudge cake to take away a slither of fudge cake and I mean a slither at £6.00 each. The whole episode was not an enjoyable dining experience. Very poor.

Just had a lovely lunch here,just a shame it was spoilt by our sour faced waitress.when we went to pay she said to the other girl “you serve them” She seemed to be fine with other people but obviously something about us she didn’t like.

Went there because the menu was broad enough to cater for fussy kids, ie kids' pasta bolognaise/garlic bread. Party of eight including two children aged 10 and 12. Ate main course only. Quote from my dad: "It was the best lasagne I've ever had (in a restaurant)!" One or two meals weren't brilliantly hot, hence only 4 stars, but most came out hot. Mine was the chilli with nachos, cheese, sour cream and salsa - a huge bowl-full, very nice; was sad not to be able to manage all of it!

Lovely place for a family meal. Laid back and lots of choice on the menu. The place was clean and staff were friendly. The food was excellent.

What's happened here?? I've been a regular at Fairways over the year but not since covid. The place has been decorated and is nice. The food in my opinion has slipped, table beside us returned their dinner because it was cold and when mine and my guest got our food our chips too were cold and required returning. This was explained as the water well that heats the chips running low which is fair enough. My issue with Fairways now is the prices versus the quality of the food. I ordered a Wagyu burger & order cheese & bacon to go with it at an extra £1 per topping which took my burger to something like £15..when it arrived it looked like what I'd expect for £9 from a chain pub. The burger was not what I'd expect from paying the price I paid. The table beside us also commented on the price versus quality so I'm glad It wasn't just me.

Am amazing place with hotel rooms and amazing bar, friendly local with golf venue, not far from city centre idealfor all venues

The lovely staff make it hard to complain, however, I ordered a takeaway for my family… some items were missing, some items not as described the standard of the food was below what the price would suggest. Very disappointed

Like many others, I guess, we walked here from the Travelodge. One couldn't say the environs are attractive, a dimly lit car park with lines of parked HGVs, but once you're in the door it's a different world (but don't turn left into the bar). I would agree with "thecrimswife's" review though I think a '5' is just a bit too generous. Fast and very pleasant service, excellent basic food and really good portions, all reasonably priced, what else could one ask for? I really don't understand the jaundiced comment about chips, says more about the writer I guess (maybe used to ghastly oven chips), nothing whatsoever wrong with the chips! And to prove it, we went back the next night!

Came here for dinner, family of 4, including 2 young children. The service was great. One of our children has numerous food allergies, our waitress was really helpful and accommodating to his needs. Food was good and swift service.

No recomendaría y no volveré.

Entramos tarde el domingo por la tarde sin reserva encontramos una mesa para nosotros enseguida y nos sentamos y bebidas orden, y al volver orden de comida muy rápido y eficiente y extremadamente amable, aunque estaban muy ocupados como un cambio refrescante.Tuve el Sunday Carvery tan agradable que realmente lo disfruté, puedes tener tanto o mucho como quieras y todo fresco (hace una gran diferencia), otros en la fiesta tenían un pastel de carne que comentaba grandes porciones de pastel (tarta casera adecuada) ) y gammon (tamaño decente) todas las porciones de buen tamaño. una vez terminado se le preguntó (bromeó con el miembro del personal, que creo que es genial) si queríamos postres que se pueden ver en vitrina estos se veían increíbles, pero como se rechazaron por completo, definitivamente la próxima vez lo intentaremos.En general, una gran experiencia, porciones a un precio muy razonable, buen tamaño, personal encantador y atento, bien hecho por esto, aunque estaba muy ocupado, sigan con el buen trabajo.Regresará desafiantemente cuando regrese a la zona nuevamente.

Cenamos en la primera noche y el desayuno de la mañana siguiente. Las comidas eran de buena relación calidad-precio. Mi carne estaba preparado el camino me gusta y aunque no era patatas al horno en el menú, me dieron una extra con verduras (no cobraron) como me dijeron las mujeres estaba en Adelgazamiento Mundo! No podría haber sido más servicial. El restaurante es parte de un complejo de golf y los muebles son bastante básicas, pero la comida lo compensa.

We all had a lovely meal here last night. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We've been here before and had good food and service then so decided to go back again last night and we weren't disappointed!

Esta fue posiblemente la peor comida que he tenido con mi familia.Tuve chili que era de bultos y la cebolla medio cocinado.Mi hija tenía pasta de pollo cajún, que parecía y estaba horrible.Las otras dos comidas eran apenas pasable con arroz y el más barato y recalentado de patatas fritas congeladas.He comido muchas veces en las calles, y no esperes nada más que comida básica que es cálido y bien preparado, en esta ocasión el ofrecimiento fue tampoco.Yo recomendaría que el propietario y la gestión de la muestra lo que se sirve y considerar si desean conservar sus clientes habituales.

El restaurante nos pareció atractiva por la naturaleza pura de su set-up. La comida era mediocre y el servicio era pésimo. Mi marido y yo no somos muy exigentes, pero en general este lugar no hacían absolutamente nada para nosotros. Nunca volveríamos a visitar este restaurante de nuevo. Hay un montón de lugares para comer, encontrar un pub que sirve comida, no te decepcionará.

Had lunch here, it was the first time I'd been. Upon arriving the male waiter said to the lady behind the bar I'll stick them in that corner. We were seated and given the menus. I decided to have the chicken and mushroom broth and a ham and cheese toastie. My friend ordered the chicken curry. The food arrived and it looked terrible. Upon looking at the toastie the the edges of the ham we're starting to turn green!!!!!! Not the freshest. The chicken and mushroom broth was a purée with 2 slices of mushroom. The chicken curry tasted like something you'd get served as a microwave meal. The pappadum was as stale. The rice was cooked within a inch of its life and you could tell by the taste of the chips the fryers were in need of cleaning. When waiting to pay at the till you can see into the kitchen to my disgust the head chef was standing at the pass which was full of tables food waiting to be taken out biting his nails. Will never be going near the place again.

Ate several times here and enjoyed it every time. Cheaper than many pubs, but a wider selection of dishes. Lots of free parking. There are specials each day, including a roast (although I haven't tried that)

Went here as a couple for a business lunch. Ordered soft drinks plus a couple of sandwiches and side orders. Food and drinks arrived quickly, and excellent quality. Prices very reasonable.

We had dinner in the Fairways Resraurant last Saturday night. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was cosy and welcoming ....and the food was delicious! We will definitely return.

Ate here while staying at travelodge. Next door good wholesome food at reasonable prices well worth a visit if in inverness you wont be dissapointed.

Visited here on a Sunday morning with my wife after a wedding nearby the night before. £15 for 2 Full breakfasts including fruit juice, cereal, toast, tea and coffee.I don't imagine it could ever be considered haute cuisine but very functional and decent value for money.

Great food and very pleasant and friendly staff. Cost of the food very reasonable and you get plenty. A good bar in the restaurant itself.

Used the golf club bar for evening drinks while staying at the Travelodge next door. I did not eat so am unable to comment on the food but the service I received from the bar staff was exceptional. Very speedy and friendly service during what was a very busy evening for them, several large parties in. Small children's play area to the rear, expansive car park to the front.

We visited here while staying at the travel lodge next door it was convenient it was disappointing my husband asked if the fish was fresh or frozen, he was told fresh when it arrived it was most definitely frozen by the shape of it and was very soggie. He complained but was not offered anything else! Instead he had to buy another meal which was equally as bad. Won't ever be back

I used to love the Sunday carvery here years ago and thought I'd come back and give it a try. I was thoroughly disappointed. Trying to book a table was an odd experience. It sounded on the phone that it was difficult to get a table for two,on arrival the place wasn't even half full. We were told the next beef joint wasn't ready if we didn't mind waiting 5 minutes, so we did. After 15 minutes I went and asked the chef how much longer,he said another 15 or 20 minutes,so we decided we couldn't be bothered waiting and had the pork instead,which is reasonably fatty. The Yorkshire puds were dry and the roast tatties were barely warm. The mashed carrot/turnip was barely mashed. All in all I left with the intention of not returning,which is a shame because it used to be so good here.

It has a large and varied menu, with play area outside for the children. The staff are very pleasant,and has a nice atmosphere.

We stumbled across Fairways as it was just round the corner from Dunhallin Guest House where we were staying for a few nights. First impressions were good as we were warmly welcomed and seated quickly. There was ample choice on the menus, with my wife opting for the haggis neeps and tattles starter, followed by macaroni cheese, then Turkish Delight cheesecake - all of which were lovely.I had the scallops, followed by the pork belly on a bed of egg noodles and stir fried veg, with cranachan for dessert. Again all were excellent.So why not five stars? Well as I said in my intro, our first impression of the waiting staff was excellent - we were met by a very welcoming girl with long blond hair (sorry didn't get her name) who was excellent throughout.Unfortunately, our main member of the waiting team struggled to crack a smile and when asked what she would recommend between two mains, simply stated 'I wouldn't because I don't like either of them'. I heard another member of the waiting team respond to another table in the same way. While this may be an honest and accurate response, surely a more appropriate input would have been 'well, the (insert name of the dish) is very popular'. To add to the woes of the waiting team, one appeared at our table absolutely stinking of cigarette smoke - I know people are entitled to their break but I don't need to smell the residue of it when they return...While this Amy sound very negative, there is no getting away from the fact that the food was very good, hence four stars.

Ordered above dish for my mm, out came a plate of pure stodge, no sauce to be seen and three slices of mushrooms, asked waitress where the sauce on as and did,nt even recognise her answer before she walked away!!!

First time visiting Fairways which is on the outskirts of Inverness City centre. Plenty of parking. Nice entrance way, the restaurant is split into two with the bar in the middle. We sat in seating area where the Carvery was being served which is quite tired and in need of a serious revamp! The adjoining restaurant was much more modern so if you have a chance to book in advance ask to sit next door! Service was good waitress was polite and efficient, you get a token for the carvery and just queue up. Good value large portion of meat, yorkshire pudding, as much veg as you wanted and various sauces too! There was also the option for a starter and a main menu with various options but we all had carvery. Desserts were fab good old fashioned trifle, banoffee tart etc. Coffee was good quality. Overall it is what it is, a handy wee place to go for lunch, no wait for the carvery and friendly service.

A fab location with plenty of parking for those driving but not drinking. The setting is always pleasant and the staff very friendly. The orders were placed and promptly served after a little time.The quality and quantity of the food served was once again first class and enjoyed by all at the table, I appreciate its not the Rocpool, but the prices reflect that on the bill, it does not however detract from the fact that Fairways Restaurant once again done the biz and my Gang were all happy. I would recommend this Eatery to anyone visiting Inverness and looking forward to our next visit.

Took a friend of mine for lunch, she had Christmas turkey special whilst I had a chourico burger. Food arrived hot and was good. Finished up and waited for our server to clear. After inordinate amount of time, she finally appeared and cleared. Other servers worked all around us while this was going on! Asked for bill, she disappeared again, never to be seen. After 10 minutes went to the bar and paid up, and expressed my disappointment.So over all experience was a C minus.

Went here with friends for a birthday dinner, and it was just ok. Skipped starters and went straight into main courses, bog standard pub grub type fare. The burgers were ok and you could swap regular fries for curly ones but the carvery was disappointing. We were told that we had to go to the carvery by 8pm so rushed to be on time only to see others going up about 8:30. The meat wasn't fantastic but there was 3 separate choices with all the trimmings. Puddings sounded nice on the board but really didn't live up to their billing - raspberry crème brulee was crème brulee with 2 raspberries in it, and it was quite an overpowering brulee. Portion sizes were pretty good though. Staff were pleasant enough though just really hung about the bar area. At one point they were eating their dinner of pizza slices behind the bar. I would go back but I wouldn't be expecting a lot from it.

My wife and i decided we would eat out for lunch and as we live close by decided to take our six week old baby for a walk there rather than stuff her into the car seat for a two minute drive. We had called ahead and booked a table for two but on arrival were greeted by the backs of five staff members at the bar paying no attention to the new patrons arriving. The couple infront of us were not offered an obligatory hello but immediately asked if they had booked. We were also afforded the same cold greeting but on seeing we had a pram was made to feel that this was a problem as it would take up too much space and we're told that we should have informed them before arrival. We were then ushered to a table and asked to cram our baby into a corner out of the way. Feeling slightly unwelcome we then proceeded to order our food. The starters arrived and I was dismayed to find the scallops were over cooked and the prawn cocktail had a branch sized stalk of lettuce in the salad. Immediately after the plates were cleared the main arrived. I had ordered cajun baked salmon and my wife had the carvery. The salmon was a generous helping however looked awful. The vegetables had been cooked to a pulp and I had the feeling that it had been microwaved. During the main I was asked if everything was ok to which I replied that it was edible, mediocre at best. Rather than an apology the lady whom I assume was the manager (the same lady that had commented on the pram) just turned tail and walked away. My wife then discovered tin foil in her beef at this point we left our food half eaten and paid the bill. We again were asked if everything had been ok to which I listed the things I was not happy with and again was offered no apology. The food was below par for even bad pub food. I can safely say we shall not be returning. The staff we felt were extremely rude.

Party off 4 went we didn't have a starter but had a main meal with desert very nice indeed, service was good too & reasonably priced too.

This restaurant uses the best haggis in scotland" cockburns, but spoils it with by burning it and using an overly creamy whisky sauce. Main meal of Salmon overcooked. Good portions which is only a plus if you enjoy the food. The staff are lovely and efficient. It is a nice venue. I just wish the food was better.

We ate here twice during our stay at the Travelodge next door. This place is a good reason to choose the Fairways Travelodge. The staff are so friendly and the food is very good value for money, nicely cooked and does not feel like the mass produced food you often get in pubs. I had a chance to try haggis here (it was stuffed in a chicken breast, but nevertheless very tasty) The only downside in my view is that they don't have a cask ale - but the 90 shillings was very nice!

Was recommended this restaurant by our B&B hosts (Dunhallen). What a great surprise! To go to a golf club as a non-member and get one of your best meals so far! The roast of the day included ham, beef and lamb. (And you got a slice of each if you wanted) plus an open family style of vegetables, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding (pastry puff). WOW!

Despite it's look form the outside, the restaurant served up some surprisingly good food. It's a short walk from the Travelodge Fairways Inverness.

This does not look much from the outside but we enjoyed a fun meal meal here Had a good and hot chilli followed by a very tasty banoffee and the head waiter had us in stitches

Linked to a golf course but anyone can use restaurant and bar.Nearest place to eat if staying in local Travelodge only 1 minute walk.Food good main meals from £8 good selection of beers and lagers.Can sit outside and watch golfers on 18th green.

Fairways has been my go to place for a carvery and occasional other meal, indeed eating there a couple of times a month. While the food is yet to disappoint, I was in yesterday and the staff albeit some i hadn't seen before where rude, and catty. Indeed hearing comments thrown by them "chatting amongst themselves" I ask to speak to the manager who I didn't feel resolved the situation, but led to me getting interrupted four times within my meal by different servers "is everything ok with the food" each time answering yes. The food indeed was to it's normal delicious standard. So if you want a good feed go to fairways, and but if you don't want to hear them critiquing you please don't sit close to the bar area.

We have used this restaurant quite a few times and it seems to be constantly good. I cant comment on dinner, but the lunches are very nice and not expensive, polite and helpful staff, and the service is fairly quick. Parking is free, and there are loads of parking spaces. Its always busy which helps with a pleasant atmosphere.there is also a driving range, golf shop and bar on the site as well as an 18 hole golf course

Good quality meals at reasonable cost. Staff great and only too happy to oblige with requests. Pleasant outlook, nice setting and very clean.

Food lovely and fresh. There was no problem when requesting a half portion. Waiter friendly . Enjoyed the whole atmosphere and was not rushed. Would recommend to anyone. Very reasonable prices .

I have been here twice in March. Mother's Day and the Sunday before that. The Smothered BBQ Chicken was very delicious. The Carvery which the person I was with had was very fresh and wonderfully tasteful as well. The Mother's Day meal I had the Chicken again and it was delicious. A bit too much pepper for me but still delicious. The Carvery was had by one I was with and again was fresh and delicious. The other person with me had the chicen with mustard seed and whiskey sauce I think it was called. This too was very moist and tender and very delicious! Well done

Good location at golf course at fairways. Popular place always people in. Lovely home cooked food. Sundays carvary amazing choice.

Party of seven, all enjoyed fairly hearty pub style food. It is a bit out of the way but friends were staying in the travel lodge beside it. Good value.

we had a great evening meal so much so that we went back in the morning for breakfast which was fantastic all freshly cooked so none of the food was sitting waiting for customers to come in what more can you ask for will definitely be going again when we go to inverness
