Exotic Shaad in Bridgend

Me and my husband ordered from here tonight, try a new Indian takeout and I must say food didn't disappoint. I had a lamb Jalfriezi and he had a chicken tikka and both were cooked to perfection! Highly recommend! Will definitely be ordering from here again!

Food is amazing no bad feeling or sickness afterward. Since it had new refurbishment ,everything is looking up

I've used had a collection takeaway from this place usually pretty good. This time not good at all Special fried rice had coconut taste looked more like pilau rice, chicken bhuna bland tasted awful. Chips dry and hard. Mint sauce green and white lumps. Never again time for a change been using this place for years

Consistently good food. My husband always has the Nepal Gurkha lamb and really rates it and I've enjoyed every meal we've had there.

Food was very nice with Exotic placing their own spin on some traditional dishes. The service was first class.

Mostly we have takeaway food and it’s consistently great . Super fast delivery or collection and the chef knows about spices and seasoning . Would recommend the tasty Indian cuisine .

Just tried this Indian take away for the first time. Have to say the food was amazing. The lamb vindaloo was hot stunning and the flavour was out of this world. Will definitely be our new weekly take away venue Would recommend it to anyone. The best Indian around Bridgend.

Really poor service. Happy to wait the hour and a half for delivery but didn’t get our order right when it arrived. Advised we can either wait another hour for the missing items or go down to the restaurant ourselves and get a cash refund. No real apology and no effort made to get us our missing items/a refund. Last time I’ll order from there

Absolutely delicious food, highly recommend. I've visited here around 6 times so far and everytime has been outstanding! Highly recommend the kebab to start and you can't go wrong with any of the mains but the lamb dishes are beautiful.

My first ever meal there and it was superb

The food here is stunning. We have eaten in and had many take aways, and each time we've ordered a different dish, to make sure we're making the most of the menu. The staff are lovely and helpful. Above all, the quality of the food is what encourages us to return time and again.

Always have my takeaway from here never ever had a bad dish! Bloody lovely! Will continue to order from here :)

Great delivery guy, excellent food!

The food here is clearly the best Indian in Bridgend. A wide variety of dishes all cooked to perfection. What lets it down is the slow service. They also got my order wrong which was annoying. However I will give it another try soon.

Amazing! Was so helpful and on point helping with my allergy. Knew how to help me straight away and just had an amazing Kerala curry, nice kick and beautiful flavours. Thank you!

We have just ordered a kerala + classic indian chicken curry. Quick delivery and hot food Kerala c. k. tastes nice, chicken curry ok but a bit watery.

Highly recommend this restaurant. Quiet, friendly and polite staff. Freshly cooked food, melt in the mouth. I had chicken tikka biriany which was moist. Hubby had chicken till a masala which was as moist. Very reasonably priced

If you have 3 hours to spare no problem. We booked for 7.30 got out at 10.30 not even offered a sweet menu. We were the only people in there

Having visited on a Sunday evening, we were incredibly disappointed by the service (or lack thereof) we were provided. We had booked a table prior to visiting, as we were a table of 9, expecting this to help the kitchen staff. However, the length of time taken to receive any food was frankly ludicrous. An hour and 15 minutes after ordering we finally received our starters. It then took just short of two hours for our mains to arrive. Had the restaurant been busy, this could have been more understandable - but we were the only table in the restaurant. I think I can now understand why people choose to have a takeaway, rather than waster hours of their time in this mockery.On the plus side, the food was tasty with everybody (apart from one) at the table content with their orders. Although I think we were content due to the time delay, as the food was average at best. There was little meat in the curry and the flavours were a little bland. Though we did have to return one order to the kitchen, as it was unbearably salty.I sympathise with the waitress whom appeared stretched between multiple job roles, though this resulted in a lack of service that was unapologetic and inadequate. We were not even asked if we would like any further drinks.I would not return to this establishment, though I may consider a takeaway in the future.

Was recommended this as a good alternative to nearby Ashoka, and I agree it’s a great place. Prices are average but portions are generous, great value if you can share a main as will be plenty for most. Menu is great, selection of dishes I’ve not come across before which I can’t wait to try. Had the Lamb Tikka biryani so tasty and Keema Naan, rice also superb. Free large bottle of Coke is a nice touch as well. Recommended.

Never ordered from exotic shaad before but it was 10:30pm and me and my partner were hank marvin. We were not disappointed!! Arrived in 20 minutes, everything was HOT and I mean HOT. Freshly cooked aswell. Definitely ordering again from here soon. Staff on phone were friendly and delivery driver was too. Great, great food.

Very nice. It was empty when we went there and I think this must just be down to having to walk 2 minutes more out of town. The young lady that greeted and served us was a breath of fresh air. Her knowledge about the dishes was second to none. Even down to explaining the regions the different dishes oriented from. Some people have turned their noses up at the popadoms because they come as a triangle and not round. On the contrary. They should all come that way. Much better. And to top it all. The curry I chose was perfect. Will definitely be back again

Have ordered from here many times as the food has always been really good. But this time the inconsistency in al the dishes was so great felt like the recipe has changed for everything! Really Disappointed! Everything tasted different and not in a good way even My young daughter said I think the chef has changed. Total waste of a Dinner and money !

Got to be the best in town Stunning

Whilst the food from this place is acceptable. We will never order again or visit this place. We ordered on line for delivery tonight and the food arrived over 1 hour late (this is not the first time). When we complained we were told to mention this when we next order; no apology what so ever. Duh, we'll never order from you again. No customer service and I'll make sure I mention to everybody I know how poor the service is. Cold food at 9.15pm is not what I expect. Don't advertise as a delivery place if you are so incompetent you can't deliver before the food is stone cold!

This was the most delicious Indian meal we've had for a long time. Fresh and very tasty. Will definitely order from here again.

Just been to the exotic shaad in bridgend. Fabulous food, staff were really helpful, advising on what to have, and what ingredients were used, the food was piping hot, and the service was efficient I highly recommend this restaurant

My order was a takeaway for a family of 5 that cost £50. When the delivery driver arrived instead of 3 pilau rice ordered and paid for we had 1! Also no dips were delivered and 2 less poppodoms than ordered. Totally suggest people check their delivery orders as it totally spoilt our meal. NOT HAPPY

There were lots of options in the menu unlike other Indians in Bridgend. They had more vegetarian options as well. I tried their recommended 'Kerala chicken curry' which was different and perfect to suit my heat levels. I like how poppadums were shaped in triangles so don't have to break them myself and easy to dip in chutney.

Excellent food but shocking service. The food here is very good although the menu is very limited compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. The service though, is worse than dreadful.

After a family takeaway, the salad caused a dreadful, evil stomach upset. Those who didn't eat the salad were fine. The next morning, I checked the plastic container that the salad was in. and it smelt bad. They say never to eat the salad from a takeaway as it's likely to have been in the container for a long time - never again. Horrible experience.

We visited this restaurant with 7 in the party.

None of the meat is dry, tastes juicy and delicious. All dishes taste as though freshly prepared to order. So compared to any other Indian and the absolute tat they normally throw out, this is ALWAYS a meal worth the wait.

We’ve not been to the restaurant yet, but ordered the takeaway for delivery tonight. It took just over an hour, but 8pm on a Friday night is a likely busy time and is only to be expected. The delivery guy was friendly and our food was excellent. We’re spoiled for really good Indian restaurants in Bridgend. This being one of them.

One of the best indians I have eaten. Super friendly and welcoming staff. The food itself was amazing!!! The onion bhajis were the best I’ve ever had! It was all full of flavour and the portion sizes were great, only need 1 rice and 1 chips for two people and the price was decent too. Plenty of drink selection to chose from and the venu itself was lovely and clean! Would recommend going to anyone.

By far the best Indian I have ever had (and I have been to a lot!!)

Waiting over an hour for my delivery! Missing items off my order when I rang back to complain no one answered my phone. The food used to be good here but now is extremely watery and flavourless

Fantastic food and friendly helpful service

Had a delivery from here recently and when eating the food i bit into something hard. Spat the food out and there was a piece of hard plastic in my meal. I rung them up and complained so two of them turned up to my house to have a look. Obviously I wasn’t happy so asked for money back to which the one of them said you can have 25 percent discount off your next order. I wasn’t happy with this as I won’t be returning so asked for my money back. He only wanted to refund me the curry and not the meal. After a debate on my doorstep at 1045 they agreed to refund me. I went down the next day to get my money and they basically tried to accuse me of putting the plastic in. Terrible customer service. Avoid at all costs.

Good food, reasonable prices, rarely busy with nice staff.

The food here is amazing! Absolutely love the place. The sit down menu is completely different to the take away menu with lots more choice of speciality dishes full of fresh ingredients bursting with flavour. A hidden gem.

friendly, great modern vibrant feeling Restaurant, But the food, was a Take away. the curry was good, not exceptional, but good, as was the naan bread, but reheated baji's that where like card board, come on make them fresh each day, If I want reheated food, I'll get it from the super market.

Telephoned a small (2 item)takeaway order, an hour late rang to see where it was, hour and half, still not on the way, promised it would be a few minutes.

Called in to try after reading good reviews was on saturday night early so not to busy drinks and meals came quite quicky all ok would consider return visit

Very pleasant experience good selection of food on the menu, well worth a visit to try it out. Good service and value for money I will revisit again for another meal.

Wonderful food and very different taste to most Indians in the area. A few Indian guys I work with enjoyed it too and normally they dislike British curries. Also been here for an Xmas do with my friends. Overall been very good everytime.

I have been to exotic shaad multiple times. The food and the service is par excellent. I had bangla naga johl and garlic naan. A must try!!

Dined here yesterday evening (24 Nov) three people who loved the food. All freshly cooked and delicately spiced. The Samosas and Onion Bhajees for starters were light and very tasty. The main course portions are large but if you can't eat it all they are happy to box it up for you! We will definitely return!

I visited the Exotic Shaad this evening to celebrate a colleague retiring from work. We were given a very warm welcome and the staff had taken the time to decorate the table with balloons and banners. The staff were so attentive throughout the meal and couldn’t do enough for us. There were 7 of us and we each ordered different dishes from the varied menu. They had traditional Indian dishes as well as exotic ones I hadn’t heard of but staff were very helpful in guiding us with our menu choices. I can honestly say that all the meals were delicious. I would definitely return what a great find on Nolton Street!

We went for dinner as our kitchen is out of bounds due to a refit. Four of us went having had takeaway meal a while ago. It’s very nicely decorated, clean, a little on the quiet side but I guess we were early for a Saturday night. Went about 8o colo k. The service. Was friendly and efficient and the food amazing. We would definitely go again. Go try it.

Excellent food just that bit different fun staff

This is certainly the best Indian Food within the town of Bridgend and Pencoed. Having tried them ALL, yes ALL of them this is the best.

An absolute gem of a place. Top class food with top class service. Nothing is ever too much. My favourite place to be.

Tried for the 1st time last week and the food was excellent. Great flavours, perfectly cooked and the service was first class. Would definitely recommend and I will be going back this week too.

My friends and I visit Indian restaurants once a month all over South Wales. Last night we decided to try here. What an experience!. Although it was quiet were we're greeted and sat in the spotlessly clean restaurant very quickly. It was unanimously agreed that the food was unique, fresh and absolutely stunning. The service was superb with every exotic dish explained to us.

We enjoyed an outstanding meal in this local Indian restaurant. However, the service is much to be desired. Waiting for 15mins before we have to ask them to take our drinks order. Then, after another 10mins we asked if we could order poppadoms and chutney tray. We had almost finished these before our main food order was taken.

Went here with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The food was different from your average Indian restaurant. Will definitely revisit and order take away

We tried to book at our first choice Indian restaurant just along from here but they were full, but we are so pleased we couldn't get in there as we found this place virtually next door and it was empty , not a good sign we thought , but hey! What a place! The food was top notch, the waitress a very well spoken young lady assisted greatly in our choice of meals ,we really couldn't fault anything about our visit we all said we would return without hesitation.

We visited the exotic shaad after it was recommended by some work colleagues. The food was beautiful, very tasty couldn't fault anything. The staff were very nice also. Will definitely be recommending to friends and returning soon.

Great southern Indian cooking. Some dishes you would never have heard of its a must do visit. The curries are full of whole spices like days of old unlike the blended strained sauces found in many other places.

Went to Exotic Shaad for a takeaway for the first time tonight. I was greeted by very polite staff and the food was outstanding. They gave us complimentary popadoms and chutney. It was the nicest chutney I have ever had. I will most definitely be going back. The restaurant itself looked stylish and would be tempted to eat in next time.

A real cut above the rest, this is how Indian food is supposed to be. Bhajis to die for, a Tikka Wrap that could be a lunch on it's own, superfresh ingredients Dopiaza, Jalfrezi, Tikka we all went for the familiar dishes, we'll be trying something more adventurous next time as we have every faith they'll be awesome and as they should be. Delivered hot and promptly too.

Had a family takeaway last night, only ordered from this place as we had they're menu on hand, none of us had eaten there.

What a find!!! My husband and I have a high standard of what Indian cuisine should be having many years of quality experience. We were recommended to eat here by family. With an open mind we ventured in.

We eat a lot of Indian food and I have been on lots of Indian cooking workshops - especially Keralan - so we feel we know quite a lot about the Indian cuisine. This is a fabulous restaurant with extremely tasty, authentic, freshly cooked food. I had a seafood Speciality dish which contained squid, prawns, scallops, mussels and crab sticks. The delicately spiced sauce was exquisite and my husband's lamb tikka pathia was extremely tasty. It was slightly more expensive than other restaurants but I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this gem and we can't wait to go again!

Had the set menu for 2 today, and was really impressed. No oil layer on any of the curries ... plenty of flavour, each dish tasted different. One of the best Indian takeaways I've had for ages. Recommended.

My wife and I went to this restaurant for the second time last night and really enjoyed the meal we had.

Visited this restaurant on two occasions in the past month and have been impressed. The food is very tasty and well presented. Lots of choice and reasonably priced. The staff are polite and friendly and we will definitely return very soon.

Picked a takeaway up from here on a Saturday evening. A great welcome from the lady behind the counter and what a pleasant family. I always like to try something different rather than have the same thing all the time, to what is normally available from an Indian takeaway, so with an exciting and different menu on offer I wasn't disappointed (incidentally, great it opens at 5:00 not 5:30 like all other Indian takeaways by the way). The food was astounding and full of flavour; the Peshwari Nan was soft and flavoursome, the Saag Aloo a cut above others in the town and the two main courses of Lamb Balti with Mushrooms (amazingly tender Lamb) and Kerala Chicken Curry were amazing. Even the Coconut Rice was gorgeous. Having tried all the Indian restaurants/takeaways in Bridgend for the best part of 40 years this is the absolute best.

There was a time when you could enjoy an Indian meal made with skill and real spices. They have disappeared over the years. Turning to sad liquidised sauces over everything you order. Lamb, chicken, prawn curries etc. This is especially true in Bridgend. I wont name the restaurants but you have probably been there.
