Ninguna disculpa.

After a previous terrible dining experience you couldn't pay me to eat here - however, my husband insists the coffee's ok so I reluctantly followed him in while he attempted to order. He stood and waited...and waited...there was one person doing nothing but ignored him. After several minutes he got so frustrated he walked out. I like nothing more than being right but annoyed he had to waste his time. Find it hard to believe it's still open. Avoid.

We were looking for a quick snack and initially thought this was just a bakery. After realising they served pizza we had to try. Service was good, food even better. Simple, fresh and tasty pizzas.

I had been doing some work nearby and was recommended to try this place. It was pretty quiet as it was middle of the afternoon and I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I chose a pizza and was asked to take a seat while it was freshly prepared. When it arrived it was pretty big (even though it was only a half-sized one) and absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back!

I've visited this place maybe 6 times now for both brunch and lunch and I seem to have a different experience every time. 25% of the time the food is great and therefore great value, however the other 75% the food (sometimes exactly the same dish!) has been horrendous! On two occasions I've ordered one thing and received another, or just had additional things on the plate which weren't part of my order. The service is rarely good here. I once came in for midweek breakfast around 10am, and the waiter told me the chef had just 'not turned up' so he didn't know if they'd be serving food or not. The chefs often seem very untidy in appearance and uninterested in their food compared to the waiting staff, which is off-putting. Such a shame, as this place has truly great potential to be excellent. I would avoid for now until the service is sorted out.

Another after work visit today. The coffee is the best in the area and the pizza is outstanding. The staff are very friendly, and it has a laid-back, homely Italian feel. A bit surprised on some previous visitor comments regarding service...if fast service is a priority, there's a Starbucks next to the station!

My husband and I have been to the Exeter St Bakery in N4 three times now and each time has been disastrous. The service is incredibly slow (we're talking a wait of over 30 minutes once we've ordered food!) and the order is either wrong or doesn't turn up at all. The menu is not extensive and the bakery not that large so there is really no excuse for such poor service. We certainly won't be going back a fourth time!

Just attempted to have lunch here. Ordered 2 of the same salad and waited.... And waited. Table beside arrived, ordered and got served with the same salads. After 30 mins of waiting we asked where our food was. One came. At this point we gave up. The Park Theatre, 50m does cheaper food with better service! Should have gone there first. Still this was an improvement on our last visit to the bakery. They served us cold soup by accident. They then poured our cold soup back into the vat. Yak!Won't be back. Had tried to give them the benefit of the doubt after my last visit but the service is still terrible.

To be fair, I haven't eaten there - and the food that other people were being served looked interesting. And the service itself was quick. It was the building itself that didn't appeal to me. they've gone for a kind of industrial look with bright colours on some of the concreted walls and chunky lights, all fair enough. We didn't like the matching plastic chairs, the tatty toilets and messy looking washing up area and bar top (on the customer side). It seemed uncared for with no attention to detail. I think it's a place that's meant to be for students but quite highly priced for that. There's better places to go near here, in my opinion.

What a great idea.An intelligent coffee shop, bar, vendor of interesting snacks and treats combined with a bakery. The staff seemed to know their products and we're happy to customise a pizza order to my friends requirement and the service was swift and delivered with a smile.Clever idea to offer 1/4 sized pizzas as ridiculous to order a who.e one if you only want a snack..Beers and wines were interesting and better than the pub drinks. All this combined with free wifi.I could spend a lot of time here.Mary Portas should come here and find the solution to reinventing the high street!

My experience at the Exeter Street Bakery in Finsbury was just great! I got impressed by the friendly, helpful and patient attitude of the staff, happy to advice me on the best options on the menu and able to deliver my food very quickly. The music and the atmosphere were perfect both to chill and chat, or to concentrate on your laptop or your paperwork. When I tasted the Pizza (which is my favorite food, so I'm very picky about it), it felt like heaven :) Coffee was good as well, and the way the display their pastries convinced me to have a dessert too, which was tasty and fresh as I expected. I had the chance to compliment with the Italian Manager and she seemed to me very committed to the high level of quality and service they intent to deliver. I would definitely go back to enjoy some more delicious Italian food and the great, chilled atmosphere I found there. Recommended!

I had a coffee and a sandwich. The bread tasted 2days old, I think it was one of those frozen ciabatta breads that need toasting first, it hadent been toasted and was impossible to eat. For a bakery this is poor. The coffee was ok and the place looks nice inside but overall I probably wouldn't go back.

The Exeter Street Bakery is a jewel hidden in plain sight of Finsbury Park. After several visits now, I am reminded why a person's love of the independent is not a childish protest to the big business chains otherwise dominating our city; it is earned by the honesty and passion with which they operate. ESB is a prime example of the excellence that a simple idea can aspire to. They boast a selection of fresh handmade breads, coffees and sweet treats that fit the palate and the budget. What's more, the staff know their stuff. I joked with the barista one visit of how seldom good coffee circulates and am met with the extensive knowledge of their own in-house coffee and manufacturing process that only genuine enthusiasm can convey with any sincerity. Moreover, the staff's objective is clearly not to create a hollow, whitewashed service; everyone is brimming with personality and interaction. The atmosphere is relaxed and completely comfortable. As service extends beyond the need for quick fixes and coffee on the go, the kitchen's menu opens to accommodate a range of pastas, pizzas and salads. The concept of a menu being 'authentic Italian' is something of an overplayed trope. Italy has become a powerhouse marketing tool all of its own; call something Italian and everything about your experience is inferred: tasty, filling, fresh and handmade. It is easy to let the menu speak for itself, this is simple food that fits a wide audience. However, looking around, the kitchen is full of Italians. But that’s not all, this is where Italians come to eat; the place is full of them, eating, drinking and laughing. If you want a quick slice of Italy for under a tenner, then this is the place There is a love and care at play here that lends itself to the Bakery's homeliness, defeating the commercialism of forced smiles and shrink wrapped sandwiches that have become the commonplace standard for our nation's chain brands. It is refreshing to be met with such an environment that has almost become alien in the wake of carbon copy coffee shops. The site itself is very spacious and caters with ease to any person with special disability requirements with step-free access points and appropriate W/C facilities. Families worried about extra elbow room for their prams will also find the location to their advantage. Always impeccably clean with spotless facilities. With friendly staff, a compact yet delicious menu and a chilled, homely environment it is easy to see why this place is so popular. Tied together on a foundation of passion for freshness and fast authentic Italian food, Exeter Street Bakery sets the standard high for the independent traders.

We popped in on a quiet Saturday evening. I'm not a huge fan of pizza's but these were great, the idea of telling you how many the square pizza would serve was good. Also the idea of pricing wine by "good" Better" "Best" categories was unique in my experience; very amusing. Service was friendly and efficient. No complaints about this straightforward no frills restaurant.

I would love to give this place a better review as it is new and looks interesting with its black interior, but the service was so slow. It wasn't overly busy with a few staff about. Waited 20 mins to place order and 30 mins for food to turn up. Not what you expect for a cafe-like place. The pizza was delicious but didn't have time to eat the macaroni cheese as going to theatre. Couple next to us were equally anxious how long service was taking as also going to theatre. Bottled beer was great, served in cool glasses. I think the problem is that they have customers at the counter as well as at tables. I would go again, just when I have a lot more time.

I was so happy when I saw, last year, that this eatery would be opening up round the corner from me.The food is great - so is the drink - they have a short but tasty wine list (good, better, best) and a great selection of beers. The ambience is really convivial - when it gets busy tables are shared - which adds to the relaxed vibe.Service is good - not too in your face. Manager is really attentive without being OTT.This is a firm favourite for me..... Only issue is that the Nutella pizza is soooooooo more-ish!

This is our go-to destination for their wonderful and consistent coffee courtesy of their excellent barista team. Very friendly and knowledgeable baristas who know their coffee well – flat white is always perfectly texturised and velvety with luxurious microfoam and subtle creamy taste. Despite their skills, the team are really down to earth and welcoming without the attitude that typifies so many London artisan coffee joints. Anika the owner is always charming and hospitable – its obvious she genuinely cares about her customers and the place has a real community vibe. And if that wasn’t enough, they have just appointed a new chef, who has already created some culinary masterpieces. Not often I get excited about porridge but I am now addicted to his porridge with mince pie chutney concoction. And their cheese toastie with nduja is out of this world – literally oozes flavour - words won’t do it justice – you just have to try it for yourself!
