Escape Route Cafe in Perth & Kinross

We rented two e-bikes for a day and can only recommend it. Very good and friendly service, everything is uncomplicated and the bikes are high quality and reliable.

Fantastic service. Came in with a blown out tyres sidewall. Sorted me with a nice new tyre whilst i waited. Super service, thanks.

Great cullen skink on a wet day in February. Fantastic flavour and huge helping with fresh bread.So filling that we couldn't even manage cake.Clean and friendly too.

Flawless food and coffee so good we got a second to go! Would give more stars if I could. We had the veggie and the meat breakfast, both of which were excellent. The portobello mushrooms were the best I think I’ve had, almost crispy and delightful. My partner talked about how good his breakfast was all day 😂 Super friendly staff and happy to talk through gluten free menu options. Dog friendly. Would thoroughly recommend, if you’re looking for breakfast in Pitlochry it’s a must visit. Will be back!

Called here for breakfast on our way to ullapool..ordered full Scottish breakfast. Food was ok but we've had better when we've been before. The breakfast was served to us in what looked like large pasta bowls ...it didnt stay warm for very long as all the doors was open and it was freezing inside...i dont think we'll be calling again on our way to our holiday .. shame really as we love this part of our annual trip to the highlands.

Got a puncture when on holiday Escape Route sorted within an hour for a very reasonable price. Great service with friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Great little cafe, plenty of space with covered outdoor seating. Service is very friendly, welcoming and speedy. Coffee is really good but it’s the selection of cakes which wins the 5th star. Oh and the oatmeal cookies, to die for!

Excellent service. Having used Clearaway for many years on a large industrial site I used them for a domestic drain problem. Turned up at the time agreed and cured the problem with a sensible not silly price. Perfect service. 100,% recommended.

What amazing service!!!!! Realised I had a back brake failure on decent from Drummocter Pass, phoned ahead from Blair Athol and they squeezed me in and had me going again with a new caliper within the hour. Used the hour to eat at their delicious cafe, fish burger was fabulous. Really reasonable price for the repair and a few pointers for non-urgent work needing done on the bike. Massive thanks to you. Only way I managed back home.

Stopped at the café on the way to Aviemore and had the worst breakfast in a long time. Bacon very sharp on one plate and rubber on other. Potato scone cremated both plates, Haggis did not taste remotely like it should and was just wet mush. Black pudding not much better. sausages were nice as was the fried egg and tomato but the watercress decoration was as pretentious as the price. At £9.95 I expected to eat it all and not leave most. on the bright side cup of tea was very nice and refreshing. £30 spent for 2 breakfasts, 2 teas an apple juice and the smallest cake they had since they don't do kids cakes. I wont be back. This review is only for the café. I witnessed excellent customer service from knowledgeable employees at the Bicycle repair side.

Hired two eBikes at short notice, both fully charged and worked without fault. Having never ridden an eBike the owner gave us good instructions and a practice run on a quiet street. We enjoyed our day and would hire bikes from Escape Route again. 😀

Top marks and great appreciation for Escape Route. I turned up on a Monday morning when the shop is normally closed (closed Sunday’s and Mondays) needing help on my wheel. Chanced my arm and rang the number on the door for delivery. There was a mechanic on site by chance and he sorted me out within 15 mins using his expertise and imagination and not charging for the parts. Very helpful and allowed me to ride that day. Many thanks ☺️ Oh and the on-site cafe breakfast was top notch as well 😋

Amazing place, staff are always very helpful and friendly, take my bike here frequently and service is always quick and of high quality. When the Cafe is open food is always very good.

Delicious food, friendly staff. Vegan and vegetarian options available. NOTE: the opening hours are for the bike shop! At the time of writing, 2nd Nov 2020, the cafe is open every day except Wed 9am till 3-3:30pm, depending on how busy they are.

Stopped off on our way north. We had the vegan burrito, soup and chips, as well as a couple of coffees. Friendly service, appreciate the availability of alternative milks. Left us happily satisfied to get on with the rest of our journey.

SEPTEMBER 19 - What lovely, lovely people. Got my bike serviced to F1 standards, purchased some lovely and competitively priced texkkie clothes, ssssooo nearly got an ebike, discussed politics and all in all think it’s a wonderful place; arse to the internet. If god cycled, it’s be his favourite bike shop. UPDATE - Went back, GOT an ebike, again delighted with them and amazing customer service. Who needs the internet?!?! Go retail for customer service like this with bikes.

KEVIN is our hero!!!!😁 Very helpful and friendly bunch. My brother's bike was knackered with a snapped derailiure and at short notice they fixed it and found and fixed a few other serious issues with brakes etc... Saved our trip from ending early and gave us some great advice about routes. Helped us achieve our goal of getting to the Falls of Tarf.

Popped into Escape Route for a coffee and breakfast while staying in Pitlochry and can honestly say it was lovely. My husband had a full Scottish Breakfast which he said was beautiful, cooked perfectly. I had a filled roll which again was just perfect for breakfast. Will definitely be back.

Stopped in on way back from Laggan Wolftrax as they were closing. Still served four of us with enormous slabs of cake and huge coffees, smiling and welcoming. Could not recommend highly enough.

We stop off here every NYE and it is usually very nice. However, I was a little disappointed this time around. I asked only for the chicken wrap which was a special they were doing for New Years. I was unaware until one of my friends pointed it out after we had our meal that it comes with a desert. I then realised that I was charged for both the wrap and desert. I asked a waitress about this thinking I could get my money back for the desert as I had not asked for this. She told me that there was nothing they could do as it comes with the desert so you are charged £12 for the wrap on its own or the wrap with the desert. I think this is very unreasonable and that I could have at least been offered another cake/drink if they were not willing to give me my money back. I also work in a cafe and know that the money could have easily been refunded. A little disappointed about the service.

My husband and I popped in twice today, while meandering around Pitlochry. Firstly for breakfast and then for tea and cake. A bustling, thoughtfully decorated little cafe, that fits exactly what it says on the tin. Food and coffee were great and the staff brilliant, a definite recommendation

We use the Escape Route as a quick breakfast stop on our way north. Fast efficient warm and friendly, excellent value for money.

Absolutely cracking lunch spot! Extremely warm welcome from staff and customers a like. Solid menu with something for me the vegetarian and my meat loving other half, he had the full breakfast and said it was the best cooked breakfast he's had out. I had a delicious brie and onion chutney toasted baguette that was out of this world. There is also a very wide selection of fantastic looking cakes, tea and coffee. We only stopped by the Escape route café after an extremely frustrating walk around Pitlochry looking for something tasty and reasonably priced to eat with our dog. There were other "dog friendly" cafés but they were either extremely overpriced or only allowed a couple dogs in at a time. Really can't rate Escape route café highly enough, it's not pretentious or trying to be something it's not. It's a lovely, welcoming business that seems to be run by extremely lovely people. We will definitely be taking a trip back.

Came here for a quick something to eat when recently in Pitlochry. We both had the soup of the day which was fine but nothing that would make me think it's one of the best places to eat in Pitlochry.

A great option for a family crowd - 7 adults, 4 children under 4 and a dog! The staff could not have been more accommodating. All the food was tasty and well presented. The breakfast was very generous and well prepared. Good treats to go with coffee or after lunch. Definitely good value.

We went for a lovely lunch before leaving Pitlochry. Just usual lunch fayre, soup, sandwiches, etc but tasty. The cakes looked really good so I was disappointed we weren't there at coffee & cake time! Great bike shop there too.

What a feast for a vegan. Vegan breakfast was delicious. Fresh, vibrant, great flavour. Best breakfast I had had for a long time. Yum, yum.

Friendly, easily accessible and reasonably priced.

The fact they were dog-friendly was the main reason we came (swapping back our son's dog after dog-sitting). However, it would be well worth a visit just for the quality of the food and the very friendly staff. There is lots of space to sit outside when the weather permits, but also a good number of tables inside when the weather is poor.

Cafe was perfect, slightly expensive but acceptable. Food, cakes, coffee, tea etc. The bike shop next door for repairs and sales, bike hire and excellent local knowledge of the area around you.

Went here with a couple of friends and our children. It was lovely and sunny so we sat outside. Food came very quickly. The toasters were lovely. I had soup as well which was very tasty. My children wanted a pain ham baguette and they were happy to accommodate. It was very big so they halved one and still weren’t able to finish it. The home baking looked amazing but I resisted. Definitely deserves the number of excellent reviews. Wasps were a bit of a problem but you can’t blame the owners for that.

Stopped by while on a visit to the town, the appeal was that it was dog friendly. We sat outside as the weather was good. You order inside and receive table service which was good. My only grumble is that while ordering at the counter all the fresh produce, cakes, biscuits etc look great but sadly are not covered. I did notice sneezing and coughing from the customer in front of me, needless to say I only ordered hot drinks. It's a shame that the food is not covered, surely for hygiene reasons it should be. The toilets could also do with a deep clean.

We skipped the hotel breakfast for this place and we were not dissapointed. All day breakfast certainly is a great way to start the day. Lovely sausages, nice Crispy bacon. Could not fault anything.

Choose this venue on the basis of the Trip Advisor reviews and have to say it lived up to the hype. Excellent choice of home baking all made on site. A good selection of sandwiches available to as well as an all day breakfast. Well worth a visit if you are in Pitlochry.
