What a great restaurant, 13 of us descended on a Sunday night to celebrate father-in-law’s 88th birthday. Great communication before hand, prompt replies to email enquiries about menus and booking Staff were brilliant, helpful and courteous Food was great, wife’s family are Spanish and they were impressed, so was I I’d recommend Escabeche for a visit We will be going again

Escabeche hosted our wedding reception, and we can’t thank them enough for what they did. It was the perfect venue for our small wedding party, and the Escabeche team couldn’t do enough for us and our guests on the day. The food was amazing, and all of our guests were highly complimentary of it. Jenna was so supportive in helping us plan how we wanted the day run, leaving us feeling so calm and excited about the day. This place never fails to deliver on that cosy, welcoming vibe. The staff are all smiles and chats, making you feel right at home from the moment you step in. The food – well, it’s a taste bud party. We always dive straight for the Korean Cauliflower, Crispy Beef, Chicken Wings, Chorizo, and those irresistible Halloumi Fritters. Each dish is a hit, bursting with flavors that have us coming back for more. There’s been a rare blip here and there, like that one time the spice level kicked up a notch unexpectedly, but even then, the food was still top-notch delicious. If I had to nitpick, I’d say it’s a bit of a downer that the portions have shrunk over time. I’m all for paying more to keep the portions how they used to be. Despite that, the place is a total gem. Worth every penny for the quality and the whole experience. Definitely a must-visit for anyone looking to spice up their dining routine.

I'm still in the middle of my meal but I can already give you 5 stars... or even 6 out of 5. Everything I've eaten and drank so far tastes excellent, I'm very impressed just like my wife. We'll certainly come back here. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Nottingham!!!

We were a party of 12. First time experience of Tapas and it didn't disappoint. Friendly service.

We made a booking for 21 people and from the day we made enquiries to the actual event we had excellent communication with regards to the menu. On the day we had amazing service with a dedicated server. Food was on so good. We selected the party menu and ended up taking the left overs home. Definitely recommend and will definitely book again for our next family celebrations. A big thank you to the whole team.

Impromptu night our but fell lucky here, was fully booked but had space at the bar to eat and the food was fantastic and we both really enjoyed our visit

One of the best family run restaurants in Nottingham, great menu and atmosphere. Often go with our kids on a Sunday afternoon and the staff and food are great.

Strange eclectic tapas these days some Spanish some north African some pasta some flat breads some tacos ... perhaps tapas in the UK is over. I know it's Barcelona inspired and Barcelona is a very eclectic city just seemed to have lost its vibe.

I don't know what happened to this place, a few years ago it was the place to go on the avenue. However now the food is abysmal, tastes all microwaved and deep fried. Won't be returning

We ate here on Saturday 18/11 as a family of 6. The service was fantastic and the food was probably one of the most enjoyable meals we have had this year. Great atmosphere, great service, great food. Would highly recommend.

Having booked, we were welcomed and escorted immediately to our table; booking proved worthwhile because, even on an early midweek evening, the restaurant was very busy. The atmosphere was lively, and the service faultless - attentive and efficient. Our food was excellent, with great choice, ample portions, and clearly freshly prepared. As it was our 43rd Wedding Anniversary, it was a really nice touch to receive a complimentary dessert, emboldened with corresponding text in chocolate, to share. We will definitely return!

My (now) husband and I had our wedding dinner at Escabeche in September 2023. Lucy and her team were nothing short of amazing. Lucy helped us plan our evening to every last detail with such professionalism and care. We hired the dining area above the main restaurant which was perfect for our party of 16 people. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and served to perfection. I genuinely can’t fault Lucy or the team at Escabeche at all and would recommend dining at Escabeche to everyone. Thank you to Lucy and her team, everyone was so professional, attentive and clearly enjoyed working there- I think there is a lot to be said for this. We look forward to returning again for delicious (very reasonably priced) food, great service and atmosphere again soon.

Very expensive cheap ingredients and not at all looks inviting. Not be returning. Just two of us. £97

Went here for dinner early evening. We had booked a table as I have hearing difficulties so asked for a quiet table. We were given a table in a corner with walls on two side so it was relatively quiet. I find Escabeche quite noisy and it was quite full so this was helpful. The menus are on the table so we could choose and ordered after a short wait. There was then a reasonable wait while the food was cooked. As it is freshly cooked this was to be expected. As there were three of us and one was vegan it was good to see that many dishes were vegan or could be made vegan. We ordered Peshwari flatbreads which came first and were tasty. Following this we got beetroot felafel tacos, again tasty, Korean cauliflower which was probably the favourite plus French fries with vegan cheese on. This last was good and indistinguishable from ‘real’ cheese. One person had the mushroom risotto which they said was tasty. We had a further two dishes which we felt were not as tasty or good. They were Corn empadillas which we found quite bland and the vegan meatballs in a sauce. The sauce was good but the meatballs were quite hard. We felt that this was overall a good tasty meal. Could not have had a better meal! The pork tacos and the Spanish hot flatbread were delicious, portion size was great value for money- could not have actually picked a favourite dish as they were all so good. Average. Service was ok but they forgot one of the flatbreads. The drinks were lovely especially the sangria. The smoked bacon and mushroom flatbread was amazing. The halloumi fritters are more like halloumi fries as its just battered halloumi, the squid was flavourless. Highly recommend the meatballs and the garlic and chilli prawns.

This is a very lovely restaurant and gorgeous menu. I always enjoy going here as the staff are very friendly and food arrives at just the right time making the transition from one meal to the next seamless. Good place for kids too

We came here after having a fantastic meal at the other restaurant in the city centre with friends, food was great so we thought we would try escabeche. Great to see it so busy! We had booked a table which was lucky! We ordered a coke and a sangria, my sangria was great! We ordered 6-7 dishes. We had ordered a meat and cheese board, we were told that we cant have that but we could have either the meat board or the cheese board? The meat and cheese board was cheaper than just the cheese board or just the meat board. I still don’t understand how you can’t do something that I’ve been told you have the ingredients for? It didn’t sit right with us. We chose to have the cheese board and I was shocked at the price of 9.95 what appeared, it was so small for the price. We enjoyed the food but it wasn’t as good as the city centre restaurant, we felt a bit forgotten about. I’m really glad we tried it because I’ve been wanting to try it for ages 🌟

A difficult review to write because essentially everything was fine. Food was nice, service was good and ambience was OK. The problem is that the menu is disappointing. Escabeche is a tapas restaurant and I'd hoped for the delicious Spanish dishes that they used to serve. If I'd wanted Thai food or Korean or Chinese then I 'd go to those restaurants. I don't expect crispy chilli beef or korean cauliflower, tasty as they were, in a tapas restaurant. I hope they can go back to their previous menu otherwise it doesn't seem like a special place to visit any more.

We visited with family and we all thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and Tapas. The service was efficient and friendly.

We came around 2pm on Saturday with no booking, we were told there is not any free tables at the moment, only at the bar. There were 4 tables free when we came in, then next 2 became available… for 45 min when we were inside nobody seated in those free tables. I am not the biggest fan of bar seats as the are highly uncomfortable and if your legs don’t reach ground, legs get numb after some time… also eating space it’s not the biggest tbh… We ordered 6 different tapas, first of all we got 1 after 10/15 min since we’ve ordered, then after another 10 min another two dishes, after another 5/10min another one and finally after another 10 min two last dishes… if you’re ordering food at the restaurant you’d assume that all food will come at the same time, maybe in two parts but not in four parts… food was less than mediocre, patatas Barca’s weren’t really patatas bravas if you know how they look like, everything was deep fried and just mediocre. I will not back there and will not recommend it to anyone.

We visited last night and had a lovely meal! Plenty of vegetarian options which is great and the sangria was amazing. Service was a little slow as the evening went on but it was clear that it was a very busy evening and our server was so lovely we were happy to wait. We will definitely be back again soon!

We didn’t book, it was a busy Saturday night, but we were able to sit outside. The place was rammed - always a good sign. Vegan choices fantastic and very tasty. Prawns and squid good too. Our waitress was very friendly. Got a bit cold outside. Will know to book next time.

Absolutely amazing food 10 out of 10 and the surface was really welcoming, my waiter was charming and professional, he made it a pleasurable experience. I am definitely going again.

Arrived on time for booking , restaurant empty , asked to be moved table as felt it was just put there and didn’t feel comfortable, refused to move us saying all other tables were booked ! We had booked our table Ordered our selection to the be told they were out of polenta ! Then told they were out of lentils ! What’s that about There’s a coop next door ! Ordered the lemon cheesecake Which tasted nothing like a lemon cheesecake Very diss appointing ! Doubt we will visit again !

The first time at Escabeche and the food didn't disappoint. Cod tacos were amazing, and sticky beef was tasty. It was very busy Saturday night, but food came out promptly with great service. Would definitely be back.

For years I have drank coffee nect door at Neros and from the outside escabeche didn't appeal to me. What a waste of years the food was brilliant the services was great, I will definitely be going back loved the experience.

Good food but disappointed with service We ordered our tapas, and everything arrived except the squid. We then asked 3 members of staff where the squid was, to be told that it was next, however, it never arrived. The food was nice, however, it all arrived very fragmented. We had a hot dish, then flatbreads, but then the potato accompaniment arrived separately., when the other hot tapas was getting cold. Thought £3.95 for a glass Coca Cola a little on the expensive side. Staff friendly, but need to pay more attention to the details. Bottles of water given to some tables but not others, including ours. Glasses were on the table but we weren’t asked.

We had a lovely evening. Food was super and very hot and delicious...those chicken wings were so so good. Staff are very pleasant and attentive and considering it was a boiling hot day. Entertainment was a really nice touch. Definitely would recommend and will definitely return.

We've eaten tapas throughout Spain and the dishes at Escabeche were reasonably authentic and there was plenty of variety on the menu. It was great to taste Sidra (fermented cider) again! Service was fast, friendly, and efficient - thank you.

If you are going to have a party in West Bridgford then Escabeche is the place to do it. We held my dad's 80th Birthday party there last night for 36 people and wow it was brilliant. The staff are amazing, they even set up the upstairs for us with balloons and everything that we supplied. The food is outstanding we were complemented by all the guests how good it was. All we can say is thank you so much to all the staff at escabeche for making my dad's night so special.

Here as a group of 8 before a match at The City Ground, a slow walking distance of about 15 minutes away. Street parking and carpark nearby. Very friendly staff, especially Lucy ,who was most helpful, explained the menu choices and a member of the group with allergies was catered for. We had the £16.50 per person menu del dia, which had plenty of choice. The plates are not huge but more than enough. They were staggered but came quickly. We particularly enjoyed the Salmon Tikka and Halloumi Fritters were amazing. Lovely atmosphere and will definitely be attending again. Whole bill including drinks and coffee came to £225 inc gratuities. Thanks to all the staff.

It's a great way to get tapas food. Service between each is slow. The food was excellent but the price is very expensive for what you get but great if you have any dietary needs.

hi it's Mr Murphy we came on the 9th should have been on mother's day but my wife went into hospital thay rolled the table over for 3 weeks a table for 5 Lucy and her staff where fantastic 5 stars the food especially fantastic my wife enjoyed herself very much & the rest of the party WE WILL BE BACK soon

Great atmosphere and service as always, we were a large group and had prebooked a set menu with one person in the group choosing the vegan set menu. I have to say, the vegan menu items looks a little more interesting, with really good variety! The main set menu options also came out very slowly, a meatball to eat, then 10 minutes later a honey glazed bit of chorizo to eat... that was a little disappointing and I haven't experienced that previously, so perhaps it's just because we were a large group. We were well looked after by our servers, they were friendly and helpful and answered all our queries efficiently. We did have a lovely evening but I did feel £48pp was a little steep for the meal and 2 glasses of wine.

We attended today for an early celebration of my birthday with my parents. First visit for us! We pre booked and arrived to a smile! Was super busy but the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was sooo good and tasty! Absolutely no complaints! The drinks unfortunately were super slow to arrive and we had to ask a few times for these. We how ever understand it was busy and looked like there was a wedding party also. The staff were doing their best! Will be returning again :)!

An overpriced Spanish cheeses at £9.95. Measly helping - 6 very small slithers. Disappointing as other choices very good particularly the olives.

Lovely friendly and relaxed atmosphere, great for families. Food was delicious. Sadly I don't live locally or would be a regular customer. I can't comment on cost as this was a treat and I wasn't paying.

My partner and I love tapas so much and having a tapas bar close to home is equally great and risky (because we could end up going every weekend if we didn’t stop ourselves)! The food is great (lots of vegetarian options) and comes out quickly, the staff are friendly (our waitress accidentally knocked over the olives which wasn’t a problem because only 2 fell out but she insisted on getting a new lot of them so we had more which was fab) and the overall environment is clean and welcoming! Definitely recommend coming if you are passing through the area!

Date night and first time trying Escabeche.....we were not disappointed. Service was amazing, food was delicious and atmosphere was lovely. Lots of choice for tapas, the food was excellent quality and the cocktails went down a treat. Will definitely recommend and be back again.

Delicious food both vegetarian and meat. Lots of options liked all the dishes.

We were served a set menu. It was the most disjointed dinner I've ever eaten. There wasn't a single plate that made sense with the next. Felt more Asian fusion than Spanish, plus some dishes can't be served as tapas. They don't make sense as small plates and you are left unsatisfied. Meatball (singular) really??? soggy Chips (3 for each of us)?? I'm afraid tapas is a fancy term to be used in order to save money and rip off customers with small, pre-made food portions. Paid £42 for few bites and one drink. They offered 10% discount cards but none of us wanted them. Service was good though.

This is the only place we eat out at in West Bridgford, we do not get out to much due to my husbands illness so when we do it is a real treat, we managed to get out at the weekend and as always there is nothing to fault while dining out here, food exceptional as ever particularly the Korean cauliflower, the atmosphere and the waitresses, the chefs do an amazing job, I hope they are appreciated for their cooking skills, I think we were served by Eden, she does normally look after us and her customer focus is bar none too, we have booked for our wedding anniversary late January so have something to look forward too.

Food was OK, definitely declined since last we visited (many years ago). Stand out dishes were ones with quality produce (sounds obvious but some dishes really were average due to quality of ingredients) atmosphere was poor. Terrible live music, felt more like a cafe than a restaurant.

Went for a networking event. Good venue and good cuppa but waiting to be served for ages... not good for a 1 hour event when you want to circulate and not queue at the bar. Needs more staff

Lovely atmosphere, with a great offer of tapas and drinks, including wine, sangría, etc. The restaurant has two floors and many tables. I recommend booking in advance, but we did not book and got a spot anyway. The staff was very friendly but I felt that some members lacked training. We ordered a vermouth and the glass was quite less than half full, which is quite different from the "usual". That was quite disappointing.

Tasty food, we waited quite a while for the food though, I think they forgot about our table at one point because we had to ask someone to take our order after waiting a while. But I guess that's just a one off :)
