Equi's Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlour in South Lanarkshire

Just had mac n cheese delivered with garlic bread. MAC N CHEESE WAS IN A PLASTIC TUB, UNSEASONED AND HEATED IN A MICROWAVE. STRINGY,RUBBERY & DEFO NOT WHAT WE HAVE HAD PREVIOUSLY SERVED IN THE RESTAURANT Called the restaurant to complain n they confirmed its re heated and not whats served in the resturant. Absolutely fuming n just called trading standards as there is no mention of this when ordering.

Equis is a cosy, friendly,homely little restaurant.the staff are so lovely and efficient.Thevfoid comes out piping got and so fresh and delicious.The prices are great and it's licenced too, so you can have a glass of wine 🍷.we will definitely be back 👍

The most amazing Fish and Chips

It was once a fantastic spot for fish and chips, but on two recent occasions, I found myself tasting nothing but oil. In short: awful. I advise checking the quality of your food there, as it has noticeably declined.

First visit to this shop for ice cream. Ice cream was great, but tubs were put in a paper bag that split before getting home, so soggy paper and drips of ice cream all over.

Can't beat the fish n chips and mushy peas, a couple of fresh orange and lemonades are very refreshing minted. 👌

I have been getting deliveries, via Just Eat, from equis over the past 2 years. The food was always excellent and always arrived on time. The last time I ordered I waited an hour and nobody turned up. I called Equis who told me it was nothing to do with them as the driver did not work for them. Just before the girl put the phone down she called to someone and said that's another order not delivered. Last time I've used Equis and Just Eat.

Well worth a visit we have never been disappointed service excellent food fantastic and staff are very helpful and friendly

Value for money and as expected. Large portions and a big step over spoons. It'd be 5* if they made their own tartar sauce. Whoever supplies the sachets should check what tartar sauce is. Be better buying it from the ALDI down the road. Will say it was mental how one staff member was meant to handle every table. It's busy get someone else on or you'll give them a heartattack.

I was recommended to try Equi's Fish n chips restaurant near Cambuslang Glasgow. It's a little bit hidden, off the main road but free parking was available. The service wasn't exactly fast, and the restaurant was somewhat underwhelming. However when the fish n chips finally arrived, they were well worth the wait. The chips were crispy and fluffy and the breaded haddock was fresh and crispy. If you like great fish n chips and aren't in a hurry, Equi's is definitely worth a visit, please be aware that you may have to book a table in advance.

Love Equi, just a shame the Hamilton restaurant is not open.

This place used to be good but tonight’s food was a disgrace. Fish supper, steak pie supper and 6 fritters and all went in the bin. The fritters were definitely not made the same day. The steak pie was dreadful and the chips were just really poor. Maybe it’s cost cutting but I’ll not be back.

Been using this place for a long time , the staff are lovely. The last few times I have to say were very disappointing but tonight was so bad it went in the bin chips tasted like reheats and the fish was brick hard

I have always loved the food in Equis and raved to people to come here. Unfortunately tonight I have to say this is the worst fish I have ever had very thin and batter tough & dry. Once we said to the girl serving she said the fish they are using has now changed. If I had been told this at time of order I would not have had the fish. If this is going to be the servce and quailty of Equis now I will definitely not be back very disappointing. We had brought a relative tonight after telling her about how good the food was aswell.

I got a pizza, first in a long time, but will never get another one, base was a bit odd and cheese was like rubber.

Eat here weekly and the food is always amazing, very fast service for takeaway too, one of the busiest chippies j have seen

Incredibly poor customer service.would have given zero stars if possible. We go to this place frequently for take away food and ice cream. Visited today to buy some ice cream to take away. Young male serving was exceptionally rushed when collating the ice cream order, resulting in one of the portions (out of the 3 same size asked for) being significantly smaller. When I asked (very politely) if this could be looked at - I was met with an extremely defensive attitude, from both the server and the (I presume) owner. Not at all willing to take on board what I was saying, not interested in taking any time to discuss my concern - actually walking away as I spoke to him. When I said I won't be back, very flippant response shouted as I left 'well don't come back then'. Would have fully expected the owner to at least check what I had actually got and perhaps offered a replacement - but he showed no interest at all. Poorest form of customer service. Extremely dismissive. Clearly not at all interested in discussing and customer concerns. Poor.

We have only used the take away for hot food and ice cream. Ice cream choice is amazing. Fish is nice, chips are ok. Disappointed that fritters are only available occasionally 😣 The counter staff are not friendly even tho we are regular customers they never make conversation with you and are reluctant to chat with you if you make conversation with them, and most of them look like they are unhappy to be there! It always very noisey and quite difficult to hear what they are asking you. They are always too fast to ask for payment before you have completed your order. Another minor gripe is that they are reluctant to fry fresh fish at request if you are having to wait for pizzas or what ever. The "ordering/waiting area, system" is a total shambles as there is no proper system in place for who is waiting to order and who is waiting for their order as people are standing all over the place at the hot food AND the icecream counter. 😩 I hope the management take our feedback on board for a better customer servicec experience.

I ordered Mac & cheese take out delivery for a change last night. Having had this many times as a dine in dish. Never again it was a disgusting gloopy mess which slide out the dish in one lump on to my plate. It obviously wasn't freshly made and was reheated. So disappointed I won't be ordering it again 😔

The food is always tasty and the staff are friendly. The food is never greasy like some other chip shops i have been to.

Amazing food and great value. We always take our gran here as it’s her favourite place to eat. The sausage and fish suppers are some of the best i’ve tasted and they’re so consistent with it too

Was out to lunch with the Chatty Crafters' who meet at Eastfield Community Center. Organised by the folks that run the club. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and we were well looked after. Thanks Carol and Co.

Tried giardiani pizza and cheese macaroni with ginger beer. All the items tasted really good, especially the pizza and ginger beer. Pocket friendly, superb ambience and friendly staff. Definitely gonna visit again :)

Lovely food, fish so fresh and great waitress. Not as much atmosphere at Hamilton which never reopened after covid.

No chasing after haute cuisine on this venture and only non-bubbly comments will be offered. This was a cracking meal for any officianado of fish & chips. The food was brilliant,the atmosphere was truly relaxed and easy-going. I'm reliably informed that the ice-cream was primera ! For great food without any blitzkrieg on the wallet, Equi's would be very hard to beat.

Has declined recently… staff are overworked, rude on phone, run out of stock regularly, foods absolutely not of the same quality. Just rushed out the door. Real shame. But it’s the truth Just eat as ruined them.

Very poor customer service. Food purchased through just eat has basically been stolen by the driver. Food paid for. No food delivered. Equis keep telling us to call just eat, only that’s not an option as the phone number doesn’t put you through to a person.

The food is good. Sadly the only interaction from the young staff behind the counter was a blank look when we entered and at the end the price were the only words offered. No please, thank you nothing at all.

Ate at the restaurant yesterday for fathers day. Food as usual excellent and icecream delicious, however to have the waitress bang the table and say I need this table in 5 mins as I have other customers was a bit off putting, hence the 4 stars and not the 5.

went here,had a bad experience,I’ve came here for a long time and never had problems,but I believe they’re having a staffing shortage and taking on staff who in my opinion don’t care about customer satisfaction.You could just tell they weren’t interested.The staff member brought tea,walked away, without giving milk and when asked for milk she said “do u want milk”.The knickboker glory was a dogs dinner missing parts of the sauce at the bottom with big empty spaces and melting badly.I complained and she said ,Oh I will get it right the next Tim”.If it was me I would say I will sort it out and get it fixed immediately.There supposed to please the customer not yourself.We we’re waiting ages to pay the bill,had to go up and ask her and they just looked disinterested. Dreadful rough offhanded dealings to make customers feel bad.I know u have staffing issues but be careful ur staff can lost you business and u wouldn’t even know.

Been going to this restaurant for years always been amazing food and service until recently last 3 orders I have put in to be picked up heave been incorrect when I finally asked to speak to the manager about this as I was always over charged I got hung up on then rudly told to come get my missing fish when I refused as everything would be cold and I was not returning with three kids as it was nearly there bed time I got told rudly once again that I won't be speaking to a manager it wasn't her fault her manger was in Inverness what did I want her to do about it can't believe how they treat there customers my full family who use the restraunt were very shocked at this treatment and also won't be returning unfortunately

Best fish and chips and the service is great.

Arrived at 9.20pm and they had locked the doors for the night. The staff were still in but refused to let me buy anything.

NOT A FINER FISH AND CHIPS WILL YOU FIND ANYWHERE, ABSOLUTELY STUNNING AND ON TOP OF THAT, THE STAFF ARE AN ABSOLUTE CREDIT TO THEMSELVES AND Equi's, I TOOK MY MUM WHO WAS IN A WHEELCHAIR AND HONESTLY,, THE STAFF COULDN'T DO ENOUGH TO ACCOMMODATE HER, IT WOULD DEFINITELY MERIT A WHOLE LOT MORE STARS, 👍🏻

While main course was fine once finished waited 15mins for table to get further attention and to order but waitress made no attempt to come to our table and we upped and left after settling our bill. Will not be back

Went in at lunchtime, and AGAIN nothing ready. Cone Equis get your act together, we could drive further and get stuff and still be back by the time we would wait at Equis. It is annoying when u go in and constantly told, waiting on chips. Might start going to codfather where even the staff are friendly.

Equi’s is well known and well liked in the Hamilton area; great fish and chip shop, fantastic ice creams and if you want to visit the restaurants adjacent to the shops best to book at busy times such as Sundays.

The fish was amazing but the chips were soggy and not cooked very well, a wee bit of a disappointment

Went here tonight for a meal took a couple of friends peter and claire and it was Peters 1st time there and enjoyed his meal and he said excellent food and great service from the waitress who made us feel very welcome thanks michaela ❤️❤️ jim

Popped in 1 night as I could nit be bothered to cook, got a donner kebab asked for nothing on it. Went home and opened it up only to find it covered in sauce and salad. Went right back them explained what had happened and they gave me new 1 the way I asked for.

Delicious ice cream and food too

Not as expected. Taste very bad. Service not professional. Hygiene not upto the mark. Seen serving lady scratching her hair and wiping face with bare hand and serving food. Totally unprofessional and u hygienic.
