Enochs Fish Cafe in Conwy

Enoch`s used to be the best chippy around but no longer. What a disappointment our take away was. The fish was cut so thinly as to be barely present -it was mostly batter. The mushy peas had almost luminous quality about them. Sad to say we won't be going back till things improve.

A chippy lunch. And it was everything you want from a chippy lunch. Generous portion of perfectly cooked haddock, in the crispiest batter I’ve come across in a long time. Not a hint of oiliness. Good chippy chips – fully cooked with a nice colour and just that hint of floppiness that sets a good chip apart from a bad chip. Or American style fast food fries. And mushy peas, of course. Excellent texture here as well. Mushy but not slop.

Enoch's has the freshest, most delicious food in the area. And it's not just the fish, which is amazing, it's the sides, the wine, but also the service. Rhiannon was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and absolutely charming. An asset to Enoch's for sure. Thank you all for a lovely evening.

Spotted this online and as we were staying nearby gave it a try. Certainly not disappointed in any way. Fresh and piping hot, perfectly cooked. Staff were very pleasant and efficient. Enjoyed it so much we returned the following afternoon to further sample their interesting menu. In fact, we made it three in a row and while we couldnt get a seat on that occasion we settled for takeaways. The place is very focussed on sustainability. I can thoroughly recommend it.

Takeaway bar. Nobody in there. 4.45pm. Not greeted. Barely acknowledged. No please or thank you from clearly unhappy to be there server. Food average at best. Barely any gravy on pies. Soggy, limp pastry and chips. Blue light discount? Scowled, asked for help then discounted us 0.43 pence. Yep. Advertise 15%. Back to archway in Conwy

Wow - we were blown away by the quality of the food on offer at Enoch’s. We regularly have fish and chips at The Magpie in Whitby, and so are quite fussy about our fish and chips - but honestly Enoch’s more than delivered, on a par with Magpie I’d say. We had Frickkles to start which were divine, definitely going to be reproducing those at home. Then had a duo of white fish and chips between us and mushy peas. The batter on the fish is just so light and crispy, and particularly non-greasy. The chips were perfect and the mushy peas so green and lovely. The kids both had sausage and chips which they wolfed down. Portions were great, really generous but not too crazy. They serve really interesting soft drinks too…and use Halen Mon salt which is just the best on chips! Staff were really lovely and made us feel very welcome, super nice to the kids too. Thanks so much for a real holiday highlight!

We often holiday in Llandudno , and always make a point of visiting Enoch's Restaurant for some of the best Fish and Chips around. Flaky white fish in light crispy batter, chips freshly cooked to perfection. Reasonable portions, and a second portion of chips can be provided at no extra cost. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and a special mention for server Bobby!

Ordered Fish&Chips and Battered sausage online. Had to wait (as usual) past allocated time. The food was dripping in oil, surely it's not impossible to dry it off before serving? The staff weren't rude, but brusque, they need some training in customer service.

Spotlessly clean, efficient polite and helpful waitress, and excellent fish and chips. Chips crisp and certainly not greasy, beautifully battered haddock perfectly cooked, excellent mushy peas and a lovely spicy curry sauce. Chip shops don't get much better than this. I tried here a few years ago and it was indifferent. Now it's absolutely spot on, possibly the best fish and chip shops I've ever used and I won't go anywhere else in North Wales. It's that good.

I am 57 and I've eaten a LOT of fish and chips all over Britain and these were the BEST EVER. The home made tartare sauce was gorgeous, the batter was perfection. The covid safety protocols were spot on. They had run out of local craft beer cos of covid but otherwise I can't fault them. It was pricey but you get what you pay for. All fisheries assured and stuff.

Recently ordered a meal for the family online. Arrived at the correct time but seemingly no-one had looked at the online orders. So had to wait whilst it was cooked. Somewhat cheerless staff and no apology for not being ready. Fish was good but batter was really greasy. Scampi ... nothing more than you could get out of a freezer bag. The kids chicken was inedible, way overcooked. Of course should have taken it back but by then really didn’t have the enthusiasm. Oh and if you want wooden forks they’re another 10p each.

It was our first visit to this restaurant. Staff very friendly. Clean surroundings. Lovely food. Very good children’s menu. Just a shame not bigger menu and there was no desserts but this was due to Covid.

Excellent supper location for a family. Dined in the cafe area - really well presented space & friendly staff. Food (especially fish & chips) are fabulous, really high quality. We wanted a cup of tea after a very long drive...no chance. Nowhere to sit and eat other than a dirty bench on a busy road. We had to crouch down on a grotty pavement. Seems like a very depressed area. Couldn't wait to get out of this place. Never going back...ever.

Looks like a ok place but is limited menu and you have to pre book and I can understand that but there was nothing that said on trip advisor or their website. Food didn’t look great

We order two lots of fish and chips, and two lots of chips. One of the portions was half full, the other had been refried a couple of times, so just tasted if fat. On top of that we placed the order over the phone, and were told to be at the allocated time of 17:05, and were kept waiting half hour outside, even though people who hadn't ordered were served before us. Surely if you are expecting paying customers to wait that long, that their food would be freshly cooked and full portions. Had to throw the portion of refried chips away, as they were inediable which is a waste of food, our time and petrol money to get to Enoch's. Will not be being coming here again, we have always been customers for a number of years, Disgusting service for loyal customers.

Once again we’ve had another delicious takeaway meal from Enochs. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection and the service was spot on. Well done to Kirsty and her team for delivering a fab meal on an extremely busy Saturday evening.

The fish and chips from Enochs have been a great treat during lockdown. Both the phoning and online ordering service are super easy to use and the staff are always friendly when you pick up your food. Would highly recommend!

Called in on way to Llandudno, seating area inside as well as takeaway from this Fish and Chip Shop. They have small portions,standard and large. We enjoyed the standard size of cod and chips and all we’re surprised at how large this was. The member of staff who served us called Rhiannon was so helpful polite and made us all feel very welcome. Excellent value for money. It is easier to park in the car park and walk down to the chippy as of narrow side streets and yellow lines. Cost us £2 to park you need to remember the number plate of your car before you go to the parking meter. All the staff were friendly, We will return

We visited the restaurant on a return visit home from a short break. We were able park on a pay and display car which was a 2 minute walk from the restaurant. Upon arrival staff were very friendly and welcoming. The seating areas and restaurant was very clean and tidy. The waitress took our order and I couldn’t decide on the fruity curry sauce or the Chinese one. She very kindly brought a sample of both over for me to try with a small pot of chips before I decided. My husband had the large fish and chips, I had the standard and my daughter just had chips. Oh my goodness they were amazing, beautiful white cod, crispy light batter, not greasy at all and the chips were perfect! You couldn’t fault the food at all. The food is cooked to order which is brilliant and tastes fantastic! If you have the opportunity to go to the restaurant then give it a go as you certainly won’t be disappointed! The only downside is it’s not closer to where we live. Will certainly return and recommend you to our friends and family. Well done!!!

Quick stop on route to staying with family on Anglesey, well worth the 10 minute detour form the A55. 3 out of 4 had cod and chips and the youngest chicken nuggets and chips. All meals were superb, no complaints at all, just what we wanted.

We have visited Enochs dozens of times in the past. It is our go to fish and chip shop when we are in the area. Can honestly say that we have never had a bad meal. I always think it is much better to eat fish and chips straight from the fryer and not after it has 15 mins to steam away in its wrapping. That’s why we usually choose to eat in. However, we have just got our very first dog after 42 years of marriage and unfortunately they don’t allow dogs on their premises. I do understand the reasoning, but this may put an end to our trips to Enochs, at least to their restaurant. Be aware, if you have a dog with you, they won’t even let you in the take out area. My wife had to stand outside with our dog in the rain whilst I waited to be served. I thought this was too restrictive given the customer area is well away from the food for a well behaved dog. All that said, I would still strongly recommend Enochs as probably the best fish and chip shop in N.Wales.

Brilliant service, waiting on staff were lovely, the seating area and cafe was clean and spacious and the food can only be described as being out of this world.(we had a few fussy eaters with us who could not find fault :-) ) The fish, chips, burgers and sides we all had were fantastic. Recently went for a take away Fish and Chips, unfortunately this was the 2nd time in the course of 3-4 weeks and on a Friday night and the service was terrible. On both occasions I had to wait 15-20 for the food to be ready. It was far from a serve and go situation which I had hoped for. There was loads of staff but a sense of urgency was totally lacking. On top of this loads of people were queuing as other's foods was also not ready. The readily available stock of fish was non existent, and both times were what I would class as peak time of between 6.30 and 7.15.
