Ennios in Southampton

A truly fantastic restaurant. This has to be the best in Southampton, and we’ve been to a few! Great discreet service from knowledgeable staff, excellent menu to suit all tastes, beautiful wine list. Stay over for a magical experience, you won’t be disappointed.

Went to Southampton as a weekend getaway without the kids so wanted somewhere special for a meal. I really can’t fault the food.. it was amazing (scallops/soup for starters and chicken / pork for main). Staff were attentive and friendly, atmosphere was great and overall a 5/5 experience. So lovely to find an authentic Italian restaurant that delivers on all aspects. Would highly recommend 😁

A high end restaurant near the Southampton ferries. Good quality food in classy surroundings with professional and efficient service. The highlight of my meal was my starter, the fried calamari. I was reluctant to order it, as normally fried calamari is consistent across all restaurants and doesn’t take advantage of premium establishments but I was so glad I did. The best calamari I can remember, perfectly breaded, not greasy, included both parts of the calamari, and a healthy sized portion. I will go back just for it. Followed it with the branzino, which they filleted at the table. It was a nice fish and well prepared but did not blow me away. I also had the cheese course. While all the cheeses were good and the portion size was excellent, if I was them I would put more “show” in it. They already have a trolley, rather than ordering off a menu and getting a somewhat generic looking cheese plate, they should present the trolley and walk you through the cheeses (even though they are described in the menu). Again, no complaints with the cheese but it could have been much more. Overall a great meal with the calamari sticking my head.

Booked for a roast dinner on a Sunday and was not disappointed. The place oozes class from the moment you step in. The greeting from all the staff members was extremely warm and professional and we were made to feel very comfortable. The level of service was exceptional. The roasts are delicious and we will definitely visit again.

Ennio's restaurant was wonderful from the moment we entered to a very warm welcome. The food was absolutely delicious and we could not fault it in any way. The service was outstanding, a discreet but ever watchful waiter looked after our every need and offered advice about the menu and drinks (which appeared very quickly). We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our visit and would recommend them to anyone. Ennio's is exactly how every restaurant should be............superb!

Bed breakfast and evening meal- venue is ideal for an overnight stay prior sailing to/from Southampton as directly opposite the Red Funnel Ferry Port. Beautiful quaint boutique hotel, well furnished with a touch of class. The rooms were beautifully decorated with large on suite inclyding a large walk in shower. Fridge with mini bar in room if required and complimentary water was provided. Tea/coffee making facilities in room. We had dinner at the restaurant where food was cooked fresh , hot and delicious. Excellent menu selection of both Italian and other dishes e.g steaks which the gents had and said were beautiful. Breakfast was to a high standard and all cooked fresh to order. No rushing, pure relaxation. The staff were all extremly friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Booked Ennios for my wedding reception on Saturday as I have previously been to this restaurant and the food is amazing and was just what I was looking for being a nice cosy restaurant. From start to finish the staff were great and so welcoming as well as prior meetings to make sure everything was covered for our big day. Food on the day as well as the staff were amazing as I expected it would be. Can’t thank you enough for making our day so special and can’t wait to return in the future! 🙏❤️

Simply a wonderful evening with friends enhanced by faultless food and service. As one of the few premium restaurants in Southampton it would be easy to rest on laurels, Ennios haven’t. We all had 3 courses and finished them all. Perfect.. Thank you!

Food and service was excellent. Definitely on the expensive side (3 oysters £15) but we had a special occasion, I would not bring children. The only down side was no parking close by, so anyone with mobility issues are out of luck, unless you arrive by taxi like we did

The food was excellent , lovely atmosphere in the restaurant the waiting staff were great, friendly and attentive. The only problem was parking, there isn’t any unless you have booked a room, and apparently there are only 4 spaces, the restaurant / hotel is situated on a very busy main road in Southampton, otherwise a lovely experience

Visited this restaurant for a business lunch having been here previously we had high expectations and were not disappointed. It is situated opposite the Town Quay and easy to walk to as there is little parking nearby. Excellent menu choices backed up with attentive service. We had some garlic bread whilst we made our menu choices. For starters we had Burrata Pugliese, Calamari and prosciutto E melon. All very good. Main courses we selected Tortelloni alla Norma a vegetarian pasta with aubergine and the rest of our party chose Pollo Bergamasco a chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto with spinach & Tallegio cheese and came with dauphinois potatoes. Everything was really lovely, we were too full for pudding but had coffee. It is high end on price but the service, atmosphere and quality of food make it a worthwhile place to visit. A great place for a special treat or celebration. Washrooms were very smart with individual towels to dry your hands.

We had previously been to Ennio’s when our son was at Southampton University and had had many lovely meals there. We had not been for several years as our son had moved abroad but is now living in the area again. We booked Ennios for his 30th Birthday celebration meal, a table of six. We were so well looked after, everyone enjoyed their choices of starter, main course and dessert. It was a great evening and we will definitely be going back there the next time we are in Southampton . Excellent service, excellent food and a lovely atmosphere!
