Its a cracking little place ,quick attentive service ,lovely food...sat outside under a heater.Fab....we will return

My husband and I were visiting Ilkley and chanced upon this gorgeous Italian restaurant for lunch. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It seems to be a good marker (for us) when the serving staff do not need to interrupt your meal to ask if 'everything is alright'. They were polite and friendly and left us to our own conversation. The food was genuine Italian fare and the lunchtime deal of a drink, main meal and coffee was excellent value.The lunch menu was a choice of roughly 8 dishes - each one described and explained to us by the staff. It was great being able to find something different.We plan to return again and again.

We had a really lovely evening at Emporio Italia last night celebrating our silver wedding. Luigi went above and beyond and opened the restaurant especially for us (we sat outside and the rain did not spoil the evening!). The food was fabulous as always and the service excellent. What better way to celebrate than a delicious meal at our favourite restaurant in Ilkley. Thank you so much. Highly recommended.

We booked in over the weekend for our first meal out post covid, and it was absolutely delicious.The family who run it are just wonderful, couldn't be more helpful and obviously just love what they do and the food they create.I cannot tell you how incredible the food is, if I could eat here every week I absolutely would, and great value for money too. If you're looking for an amazing intimate dinner experience with wonderful staff, and amazing food and drink, then book in immediately. You won't be disappointed!

Our daughter recommended this restaurant to us so we booked our 25th wedding anniversary meal..the team here really know how to create an element of “theatre” and it all helps to create a real “experience”...superb food, fantastic service and an amazing atmosphere. Excellent value for money and we left with a real sense of “we’ll be back”....how a meal out should be.

We visited here last night, the atmosphere and food was amazing. We loved every bit of it. We loved the menu, small but lots of choice. I loved the owner talking through each dish, how it will be made and served with. Prawns to start were so tasty and the steak was very good. My partner had the lasagne best lasagne he had ever tasted. Puddings looked fab but was too full. Can’t wait to try it again and to see what’s on the Menu for next time.

We have been so many times this is my all time favourite restaurant. The food is always stunning the service is second to none the staff are very friendly good fun and obliging. There is always a lovely atmosphere can’t wait for my next visit.

It is great to be able to have lunch here,which brings a touch of Italian magic in these. difficult times. We had take always from here during lockdown which were excellent but it is great to be back having lunch in this wonderful atmosphere.The owners Sam and Luigi have worked hard to make this a COVID safe environment and we feel totally relaxed about visiting.The food continues to be excellent and the wild boar pasta Ragu on Saturday was outstanding.The family make everyone feel welcome and whilst we cannot go to visit Italy,as we would usually do each year, it is great to have this couple of hours in Ilkley of Italian magic.Just keeping fingers crossed that the new restrictions do not close it again or it will be back to takeaways.

We had lunch here yesterday for the first time in ages. It’s still the best Italian restaurant that we’ve been to and we regularly go to Salvos Salumeria at Headingly. Emporio Italia has a proper authentic Italian ambience. They do a lunchtime deal that’s amazing value. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely meal, I had a Duetto, Asparagus wrapped in Parma Ham with a Stuffed red pepper filled with Pork mince, absolutely delicious. My wife had Mezze pasta with Spinach and Ricotta in white wine and garlic sauce, we both had Chocolate Fudge cake for dessert. An outstanding meal for the price.

Popped in on the off chance for a late lunch and managed to grab a table (lucky as always full when we walk past) FAB ! Just Fab ! ..... food was stunning and the service is my title for the review!

We have long been fans of Emporio Italia in Ilkley but having visited this last Saturday and had such a lovely time I wanted to post to say the food and hospitality is just amazing. The menu changes so frequently, there is always something new and freshly made - a real jewel in the crown of Ilkley.

Received recommendations from several sources for this Ilkley establishment & we enjoyed a wonderful evening here. From the warm welcome, explanation of the menu, nibbles with the drinks & the dishes themselves, all were excellent. Wish I lived closer for a return visit.

Emporio Italia Ilkley. Never normally post things like this but feel really angry...So we booked a table here during “eat out to help out” having had two previous visits during normal times. We traveled over with the children looking forward to a lovely Italian feast, we arrived 15 mins early to find there was people waiting for it to open. We were eventually greeted after being ignored at the door looking into a full restaurant, to be told they’d given our table away to regulars who’d just turned up. We were turned away with an apology, but not before I’d confirmed they had our booking and phone number. We parted amicably and the owner agreed to ring me after the weekend to confirm a booking another night as an apology...Another couple who were also waiting, said they’d booked 3 weeks ago and they were also turned away for regulars. Can you guess? no call from Emporio Italia so the moral of this story is don’t go unless you’re a regular.

Have eaten mnay times at this restaurant with friends for lunch or family in an evening.Its awlays fun and has life but more important food delicious and aways enjoy

Dined her since re-opening & wow!Cannot fault them whatsoever, still delivering excellent food in an incredibly safe environment.At no point did I feel that I wasn't being taken care of, the service was impeccable while following all the measures which are in the place, yes the restaurant is more spread out but it still had that wonderful family feel.Thank you for making my visit as enjoyable as ever.

Excellent food and service, the menu is on a large board and the staff make a little production of going through the menu. Not a place to turn up without booking as it is so popular the restaurant is usually fully booked

Went with friends and seated at a nice table in the window. Limited choice menu on a blackboard (5 starters / 7 main courses) beautifully explained by the owner. Lovely starters of Portabello mushroom followed by a variety of main courses. Mine was incorrect and got pasta instead of pork. Offered to change it but that would have put behind the others. Our friends loved their lamb and pork, my wife found the Ravioli not bad but my meze pasta with spinach was uninspiring. Fantastic Chocolate Fudge cake after with ice cream after. Pricing on the high side but service excellent. Would probably go again to have a dish of my choice.

Best Italian restaurant outside Italy ! Excellent menu which was explained off the board. The quality of the food was first class and good portions. I would definitely come back - shame it’s not a bit nearer for us ! The staff were very friendly and very good service.

This was our first time of visiting , and let me say ,,, this is an amazing Italian Restaurant ..on entering we was was made to feel so welcome , Customer service , by far the best we have Ever witnessed..the food menu is amazing and cooked only to perfection ( beyond) i could not find 1 fault ... what ever the occasion , Emporio Italia will never disappoint,thank you for making our evening more than special ... this has to be the be ilkleys number one for us ,, never have we witnessed such amazing customer care and service not to mention the Amazing standard of food

Have now eaten in this restaurant four times and it has never been disappointing. It’s a small restaurant but has such a good atmosphere and you are instantly made welcome . The staff are excellent and the owner explains everything on the menu in great detail . The food is amazing, beautifully presented and tastes as good as it looks . If you want an excellent Italian experience then give this restaurant a try , I doubt you will be disappointed.

Cannot fault this place. I took my girlfriend here on Valentine’s Day, both meals were delicious, the place has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere and the staff are so attentive. I will definitely be coming back here again!

My husband took me here on saturday night where i have never been before only because we can never get booked in as it is so popular and booked up weeks in advance and now I can understand why. It's such a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we stepped through the door and nothing was too much trouble as my diet requires to be gluten free the seabass was amazing and I'd recommend this small and intimate place to anyone.Full marks to this family run business I shall be visting it again here soon .

My wife and I have visited Emporio many a times over the last couple of years but this time we treated ourselves and booked in early for Valentines. From as soon as we stepped in the door it was as if I had stepped into a little Trattoria down a little street in Rome, the welcome you get is as if you’re part of the family, the service is brilliant and thoughtful, nothing is ever too much. My Wife and I dine out at least once a week, trying out all sorts of restaurants, but the food at Emporio really is exquisite. We had the Alpine Cheese and Asparagus to start, my wife then had the Chicken and I went for the Lamb- all amazing. So thank you Luigi and the gang for another Lovely evening.

So So disappointing, I have visited this restaurant many times and always enjoyed my food. Regrettable my Visit on Valentine’s Day was a disaster. The chefs allowed my wife to be served RAW CHICKEN for the main course. (Totally Inexcusable)

Went a couple of weeks ago for a family birthday. Patron was so entertaining, all the staff really helpful and the simple menu mouthwatering. The hardest part was deciding what to choose! We will return!

The food was very good but unfortunately the service was slow. I usually enjoy a dessert and a coffee but starters and mains had used up over two hours so had to skip them.

Booked a table for four on the recommendation of family relations .A treat , lovely atmosphere , great food and friendly welcoming staff. An excellent evening to celebrate my son's birthday. Will return !!!

What a surprise! Found this fantastic little restaurant on Trip Advisor. The food was delicious. Loved that there was no extensive menu that you often find in Italian restaurants. A blackboard with about 8 choices for lunch - could honestly have eaten any of the choices on offer. I chose a chicken risotto - yummy. My husband chose the pork dish - it was also yummy! The restaurant only seats around 30 people but the atmosphere was lovely. The staff were attentive and explained each dish in detail. Will definitely go back

Popped in on the off chance there might be a table, and lo and behold after weeks of dreaming and waiting for a spot, there was one! The food was outstanding. The menu whilst short and succinct meant that each dish was excellently prepared and delivered. The waiting staff were polite and attentive and the value overall was surprising! The lunch time deal was a complete steal! Throughout our meal all we kept saying was how much we can’t wait to come back. Hopefully next time we won’t have to wait weeks, but even if we do it will be worth it!

This is a real Italian restaurant, not one of those chain things that tries to pass itself off as an Italian restaurant. The food is authentic Italian and delicious, all freshly cooked. The service is prompt and friendly.

If you are visiting Ilkley and love home cooked Italian food, phone and book a table here. No website, no online booking, this is an old fashioned family run business with a few tables and fantastic individually crafted food. There are 6 or 7 dishes freshly prepared with well sourced ingredients and the family's own recipes. We paid less than £50 for a two course dinner with beverages. Great value. Regular customers book weekly, and are greeted as family members. Best place to eat for miles around.

I agree with the review Alison W posted as I was the one member of the party to arrive a few minutes after 12pm. No one came to take our order until 12.30 and he certainly did not read the menu to me three times I only asked him to repeat the first dish listed. It then took some time for the food to arrive. The actual point is there was no mention of only having 90 minutes before vacating the table and this should have been mentioned when the table was booked. However the attitude of the member of staff was rude and arrogant which was not necessary the matter should have been handled in a more professional manner. We all witnessed him childishly talking about us to other customers whilst we stood outside the restaurant door saying our farewells.

We have visited this delightful family run restaurant many times over the years and are always delighted by the authentic Italian food and excellent value. Not to mention the hosts singing! Not to be missed, Great value lunch time specials too...

What an “Amazing Place” Emporio Italia is. We dined as a family of eight on Friday night after booking a couple of days earlier, food was delicious and the service from Luigi and the rest of the staff was second to none.

Food was very average nothing special and the management are unbelievably arrogant and rude. Especially the female running the show. Don’t waste your money here. Far better places to eat.

Three of us enjoyed an early dinner on a Friday evening, having pre-booked a table. Two of us had been before and had really enjoyed the meal although finding the almosphere noisy.

Called in today for lunch, the restaurant was busy and we hadn’t booked but the owner was very accommodating and found us a table. The food was absolutely amazing we both had the lasagna a real taste of authentic Italy. Staff were friendly and attentive we will definitely be returning!

My daughter and I popped in for a quick lunch on our way to an appointment. This is far too nice a place to rush! Unfortunately, we didn't wait for the daily menu to be read out and just ordered the item that we recognised (I don't speak Italian!). I think that we would have happily sat and feasted all day with a beautiful bottle of Italian wine!

We have been several times it’s just so homely romantic and very very Italian,me and my wife love it so quaint small not many tables but this makes you feel so special and the family staff are a treat it’s like you are their personal friends ,absolutely recommend the food is a limited menu but everything on it sounds fantastic,well worth a visit and once you’ve been you will only want to return again and again.

We have been coming to this restaurant regularly since it opened many years ago and it never fails to delight.Have just returned from a visit to Venice and we did not find any food that was cooked with the quality and flavoursthat the chef here produces at every visit. The restaurant is a welcoming environment with friendly efficient staff who give excellent service to everyone..It has become so popular that booking is essential and we always book well in advance to make sure that we get a table.!!!

Lovely place, came here one Saturday lunchtime although it was busy inside we were offered a table outside. The food and the staff were absolutely brilliant. Have been here many times and it is always my go to place when Ilkley. The owners do everything they can to make each and every guest feel relaxed. Will be returning very soon.

Went for a lunch. Glad we booked as the restaurant is small, but all the better for that. There are a limited number of dishes of the day, which in my view is always a good thing, as they are seasonal and freshly prepared.The menu is read out and carefully explained by the owner and although only few in number we were spoilt for choice. The lunch menu comprises a little taster of bread and oil and tomato, then for me a pasta dish with a lovely veg sauce with a glass of house wine and a great espresso.Food, atmosphere and service were great and all for £14.95 ( I think! ). A great find.

Wow and wow again, my friend and I have visited many Italian restaurants but this restaurant is far better than any other this is due to food cooked by an excellent chef, the staff where so friendly and accommodating, we certainly will call again if only to try every dish on the menu and desserts to die for. This is to be highly recommended.

Came in for lunch some time back and was pleasantly surprised by this quaint little gem. The food was authentic and tasty! The food was only surpassed by the service from the young male waiter (think his name was Jamie?) Our experience here was over all fantastic and unparalleled in Ilkley! Could not recommend enough!!!

You would be forgiven for thinking you are in Italy. This is home cooked Italian food at it's finest with a suburb selection of dishes. Staff are extremely warm and attentive. I would say probably the finest Italian I have experienced in the UK.

This was our first visit to Emporio Italia - my wife’s birthday treat. It certainly won’t be our last! We were met by a very jolly owner, who’s demeanour fostered a very warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.....As for the food - simply wonderful! And the Cassata cheese cake was out of this world. Good, strong, hot coffee finished the meal perfectly. We were so impressed that we booked there and then for my birthday in July!

This restaurant is a really great Italian restaurant the food is proper Italian always really good and I like that the menu changes regularly and by the name of the dishes if your not a regular you might not know what they are but they are always explained in detail by staff. We have been coming here for at least 8 years not once had a problem with any meal and the staff are very friendly and pleasant and a great atmosphere with Italian music. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Italian food

Wow what a place, we went for a well deserved date night. To say this was a week night it was fully booked. And a lovely atmosphere.The Menu is of great choice read out to you at your table personally, and explained how each dish is cooked. I had the pork scallopina pizziolla absolutely delicious. My husband had meatballs and steak he said they were the best meatballs he’s had. I would definately visit this place if your in the area. They do lunch times too and I will definitively be back to try it.
